Best vehicle service in Billings by far. Quick service. Reasonable and low costs. They had excellent communication the whole time.

I placed a reservation to have my car dyno tuned a month before and checked with them the day before to make sure the reservation/appointment was still good. Dropped my car off, they had it for almost a week, and finally tried to dyno it the 5th day. I was told my car had a transmission leak, brake line leak, and exhaust leaks that stopped them from running my car on the dyno. I picked up my car the next morning finding the drivers door inoperable, not one “tech” would admit to having caused it. I drove my car home and parked on concrete for a couple minutes while running, then moved the car. I found no transmission fluid just engine oil which I told them there was a leak. A “tech” should be able to tell the difference of trans fluid vs engine oil. I then checked my brake master cylinder finding it full from the month before when I checked it.After further inspection I found the barrel compression fitting on my oil pressure line was leaking. It was spreading down the side if engine to bell housing. Had it fixed in 5 min with new barrel. After loosening the door panel enough to reach my arm in the door I managed to pop the door open. I found someone pushed the lock rod down hard enough to bend the mechanism. Will never return, I got my car back in worse condition than when I dropped it off. I look forward to my refund of dyno reservation and case with the state business bureau. The communication of the business to the customer was very horrible also.

I would usually just slap on some kind words and call it good for a review.. but Tim Vallie and his crew and by far the best mechanics in Billings and the surrounding area. I got a LOT of work done on my Acadia (transmission, struts, bearings...) you name it, the dang car needed it. They kept me posted every step of the way and didn’t fix it unless I approved it! So I wasn’t surprised by the bill at the end. I knew how much it was exactly all the way to the end. And if they made a mistake OR something didn’t go as planned, they didn’t charge me to fix it!Hopefully I won’t need to go back too soon, but if I do need repairs... THIS is where I will go!

Mechanics prices suck, everyone has to make a living. Unless your doing it yourself, you will pay someone else to do it. These folks are fair and I have recommended them for both, two separate businesses and four of my own vehicles. Thanks.

They did work without my permission. Drove my bill up to over 400.00 then wouldnt work with me at all. I had to go without a car for more than a month. Then when I got the bill told me I had to pay in full before they gave me back still broken but 434.00 worth of parts and labor. Horrible place to do business with..... Can you say RIP OFF.....

Sometimes auto repair shops get a bad name by the way they are with females or someone that is not as mechanically inclined. It takes a lot to get me to write a review. This place not only does great work, but I am most impressed by their honesty. I needed a differential replaced in a work truck, and told them to do it. After investigating they found it was something else and saved me over $1,500, and cost them a $1,500 job for being honest. Since then I have had them work on all my personal vehicles and work trucks, and am VERY HAPPY to have them as my mechanic. I highly recommend them!

Took my car in for a simple tune up. Got lied to all day plus they jumped my price up from $100 to $500 and they did fix some things but not what I brought it in for... if these guys are the best... just buy a new car. Its cheaper

My pick came back to me worse then when it went in. Just wanted fuel pump changed they decided to do unnecessary so called servers ended up costing me more than 2grand . I recommend taking your vehicle somewhere else honest that doesnt try to suck you dry and is up front and honest.

Worst experience Ive had with a repair shop. After having my car basically held hostage for 3 weeks with little to no communication from Vallie, for a timing belt change, and a steering rack replacement, (which any other shop only takes 3-4 days max!) I picked the car up and it drove like the wheels were made of rocks. What shop actually allows a customor to pick up a car in that condition?! I returned the car to them to fix it (which was a mistake) and I got the car back with a massive dent in my front quarter panel and a terrible suspension rattle that still hasnt gone away. The owner claimed the guy that put the dent in my car was leaning over the engine bay and didnt notice that he dented the car (youve got to be kidding me). I could have done this job myself in about a week if I could find the time and it would be brand new. Its hard to believe that these guys have any automotive knowledge whatsoever. Oh and I fogot to mention the fact that after venting about my troubles with the shop to the owner of Vallie, he ran inside and came back with a Wild Ginger gift card to repay me for my troubles... yes, no discount on labor or parts but a Wild Ginger gift card... The owner is a joke and so is this shop. Save yourself some time, money and stress and do your repairs yourself or take your car to a real shop in Billings. 0 stars for this rating if I could.

I took my truck into Vallie today to double check my wheel bearing. They checked them and they were tight but the noise wasn’t there a couple weeks ago. I took it back today because the weird noise was getting worse and just seemed off. I really thought it was Tire noise. I didn’t think anything of it. Well Tim looked at it himself and figured out that my passenger wheel bearing is bad and my driver side is starting to go. Well, Tim knows that with my last bill from my ball joints, I wasn’t in the market to afford another bill for a wheel bearing. Out of the amazingness of his heart, he decided to donate the labor for my passenger wheel bearing. Well, can’t do the wheel bearing without the new one right? Chad at AutoZone on 24th DONATED a wheel bearing for my truck. I seriously don’t have many words for just how grateful I am. I cried my share of happy tears that’s for sure. ❤️ Y’all, If you wanna support amazing places, I’d start with these two. Tim and Chad, thank you. Seriously. Thank you! I heard about Vallie Automotive through a friend that has taken their cars there for years. I have had Tim Vallie replace the engine in my car to custom cams installed. i have had the uppe part of a performance engine done there and they do great work. No one beats their price! I mean no one.

I recently had the misfortune of having the transmission go out in my truck so I had it towed to a shop who diagnosed the problem, charging me over $100 to do so only to inform me that it would then cost me another 4 grand and some change to replace it. After consulting with others and getting the advice of seeking a second opinion, I was directed to Vallie Automotive where I encountered Sean. Arguably the nicest guy in the industry who very patiently kept me informed the whole time they had my truck. I also met Tim Vallie, the owner, who took the time to talk to me about my problem and even gave me a tour of his operation and a couple of cool project cars they are working on once he found out Im a car guy. Tim had his tech go over my truck with a fine tooth comb without telling him what the suspected issue was and he came to the conclusion that it was unfortunately the transmission. Tim was still not quite satisfied though and checked a couple of other possibilities before finally stating it was indeed the trans and then worked hard to get me the very best deal he could on a replacement and kept the work hours to a minimum as well in order to make the sting of that kind of repair a little easier to take. They had to wait on the new trans to arrive but had my truck back to me within a weeks time and even took it and had it washed before I got there to pick it up. Top notch, above and beyond service that has earned them a customer for life in me and I now highly recommend them to anyone I ever have the opportunity to tell. Great guys, great service, total peace of mind.

Before taking my vehicles to Vallie Automotive Center, I took my vehicles to other mechanics and always ended up with misdiagnosed problems, fixings that didnt need to be done, and large bills to pay afterwards. Then I started going to Vallie Automotive Center, and have never had any problems with their service. The mechanics there always seem to know what the problem is with my vehicles and are able to fix them promptly, without the outrageous and unnecessary charges. Now, I will never take any of my vehicles to anywhere else other than Vallie Automotive Center.

I first heard of Vallie when I posted that I needed help with my vehicle on Billings Classifieds on Facebook. One of the people who commented had mentioned just a name, that person then messaged me and his name was Tim Vallie. He told me he owned Vallie Auto. He said he would take a look at my vehicle for free and give it a diagnosis on how to go about fixing my car. I took my car in later that week and right away he noticed one of the biggest problems, my power steering pump and adjacent line connecting to the pump. After going further into the diagnosis, Tim Vallie noticed my power windows were not working when I told him they previously were. He found this odd and discovered one of the electrical lines going from the power from the battery to the power windows was connected incorrectly. This was draining my brand new battery. I left my car to be repaired the next day. Tim called me when my car was ready but then noticed that my power steering pump was still making a lot of noise so I told him he can look into it. He then looked at the pump itself and found that it really needed to be replaced. But the best thing is the price. I first went to the Toyota Lithia dealership in town to get an estimate on the power steering pump and line replacement. $895 for just the power steering pump and line replacement. Tim Vallie bought a power steering pump from either Autozone or Napa auto in which he charged me $10 more than what he bought it for. Altogether, for the electrical problem in my door, power steering pump, and line replacement, and power steering fluid, $530. The last word I will say is, for doing exceptional work and truly caring about me and my vehicle, I will recommend Tim Vallie any day to anyone.
