Went in for some sensor work and to diagnose check engine light. They finished it up within a day, however the check engine light came right back on. Went right back down and dropped off the car. A week later they said they couldnt find it and needed to do check on the timing. A week and a half later finally told timingnis fine now want to check something else. Gave them 3 days and still had not checked on it. They are nice and good people in person but not professional time wise, and never give you updates on your car status even if its a week later.

Subject: Emissions Testing--Such great people, so helpful! I have a car licensed out-of-state (college student/worker here but not from MT), and I needed an emission test to renew my license stuff, but unfortunately nowhere in MT really does emissions tests because MT doesnt require them. After calling a ton of places trying to find someone, finally found Heights Car Care and they can do this!! Not only were they super helpful in understanding my situation, but they also took the time to contact my states DEQ to find out exactly what was needed for my emissions test (I had no idea what the specifics were). Overall such great service and I will definitely be going here from now on for any car needs. Will be highly recommending them to other out-of-staters!

We owe so much to Joe. We were midst road trip on a Saturday in our camper van across Montana and the left front brake started grinding bad. Joe and the staff at Heights Car Care are truly top notch! We were traveling to Billings from Bozeman for a little vacation when we suddenly blew a CV joint all over the road. With bearings and twisted metal flying everywhere, it was apparent that our Chevy Impala was going nowhere. Fortunately, it happened close to Billings. I’m sure that you can imagine the frustration and dismay that many have experienced when attempting to find a shop open on a Saturday. As we began to give up and accept the possibility that we could be staying there until Monday or Tuesday without a car and ruining our vacation, we made one final call. To our amazement a friendly voice actually picked up on the other end and said those 3 magic words, YES, WE’RE OPEN! Relieved, we called a tow company and had our car towed to Joe and his staff at Heights Car Care. (I would recommend telling, and maybe even writing down Heights CAR CARE to the tow truck driver a few times.... they have a habit of towing to the wrong place). Heights Car Care worked with us during all of the logistical headaches and were there every step of the way.The owner, Joe greeted us with a smile and worked with us to get our car in right away, even though there was quite a line up before us. Joe truly saw our bind and approached the situation empathetically and professionally. They even came in on a Sunday to help get our car back up and running right in time for our trip home. Joe not only came in to help make the repairs himself, but also is well connected and was able to get a new CV Joint for our specific car on a Sunday. This in itself was epic! I have never seen that done before. He even vacuumed our car and performed a full inspection. With overtime pay and the work that Joe put in, we were expecting to pay an arm and a leg. But actually I was shocked at the final price. Joe was more than fair and the price we paid was a lot less than we expected. I would recommend Joe and his staff at Heights Car Care to anyone in or around Billings or surrounding areas. Now that it has been about a week since this debacle, I can say with confidence that Joe performed solid work. Our car is still performing beautifully and the repair seems rock solid. I bought an older vehicle and knew it would need work. Heights Car Care has consistently helped me to keep my car in good repair with great service and professionalism. They communicate very clearly and I always feel informed rather than pressured about the work I get done. I also love the app that texts me about any issues they find during their check. This place was extremely disapointing to say the least. We moved into the heights 3 blocks from Heights Car Care, noticed good reviews so we came to introduce ourselves as neighbors in hopes to connect with our local mechanic. We shook the owners hand. Had all breaks and rotars replaced soon after and that went fine, they were helpful and fast. Then a week later our tire almost fell off. Thank God we werent on the freeway yet as we were juuuust leaving out of town. Went to the nearest mechanic for help to find out the luggnuts were not tighten and things were not connected properly (we have a list including a video and estimate) resulting in $800 of damage. We called heights car care to notify them of the bad service and damages. We were told the owner would call us back, he did. We gave him the phone number to our new mechanic who fixed the issues and took a video of the damage... Then he said he would call us back, he never did. My husband called 3 times leaving messages and he just completely ghosted us. We werent expecting money back although most places would offer that or sooooomething. He couldnt even offer a response or apology. Highly disappointed in the lack of integrity, responsiveness and mechanical skill set of this place.Not one to leave harsh reviews but people should be aware. We could not affotd this issue as im sure many can relate.

They charged me 152.00 to diagnose my vehicle. Hour and a half later they dont know what the problem is... no work was done on my vehicle and I still paid for them to take there time to just stare under the hood.. was not very happy... my problem has now gotten worse and Im leaving more fluids under my vehicle..

Blew my wheel hub assembly, brakes and rotors on my way to north dakotah. called Joe (owner) 8am on a saturday morning and he told me to come right in and hell squeeze me in. diagnosed, got the parts i needed, and fixed my problems and got me back on the road by the end of the day otherwise id have to spend the whole weekend there since most shops are closed on sundays. all around great work and joe is as nice as they come. you wont be disappointed and totally would trust joe completely with my car again if i lived here.

Said theyd have it done in1 day kept it a week to literally put in a new battery.. I had to go in there and demand the keys to my car to get it out and paid over 300$

Best experience with a mechanic...We got into town on a Friday, woke up to leave early Saturday and the fuel pump in my truck went out. Joe, the owner, gave me an awesome tow reference and an awesome price. They fixed my truck in a few hours, with a roadside assistance as a part of being a customer. My friend brought their car here. Said to bring it in at 8am and they would work on it all day. It was her only car for work and she drives all day. She expressed to this to them when she dropped it off. She called once to check the status before they closed and they said they needed a couple more hours.At the end of the day they called and told her exactly the same thing she told them at the start of the day and had fixed nothing. An entire day wasted and she still didnt have her truck.Their excuse was the overbooked their mechanic. Would never use them as a shop after seeing this.

I will never recommend this place to anyone. He charged me $347 to diagnose and change the spark plugs in my pickup. Since the day I drove my pickup away from that shop it has been doing the same thing it was doing before I took it in. How does it feel to take advantage of a 19 year old?

Fair Pricing? Not really. They wont even let a customers bring in their own purchased parts for their vehicles. You have to buy it through them and the price is not fair considering you can get the exact same brand and model at a much more affordable price elsewhere. The service was nothing to brag about either. Took four hours just for a car inspection and I didnt even get a call back or anything. Oh then when the owner finally returns Im still sitting there waiting. I must of waited for 30 more minutes just to get a outrages quote. This place is nothing to get excited about!

The first visit was awesome even though I had to wait 2.5 hours for a free birthday oil change. The owner helped me and talked about issues his mechanic found while doing the oil change. I was surprised because Wal-Mart and Jiffy Lube would never tell me about other future problems I would soon be incuring with my Mothers car. He said she would need a quite a few new parts and mentioned her left tail light was and would be going out soon. I didnt have the money to fix it at that moment. And said it would be fine for a bit.Fast forward a month or so later we stopped a day or so after Xmas to Heights Car Care because the tail light was finally acting up and going out off and on. My mother went in and asked the attendant if the mechanic would check it out? She said sure just pull up to the garage doors. We wait about 10 mins then the lights start shutting off inside. My mom goes back in and asks her if hes still going to look at the left taillight? The attendant goes and asks him to look at our tail light and He mumbles to her thinking my mother didnt hear him saying he didnt want to look at it but informed him she already told my mom he would look at it. Very unprofessional.By that time the tail light was magically working again for a moment. He comes to look at the tail light reluctantly. And says since its working he cant properly diagnose the situation and it would cost us $140.00 to run a diagnostic test. Which he wouldnt have wanted to do even if we paid. I even saw the owner inside. No help.We thought this was going to be the place we always brought our car to when we had auto problems. But $140.00+ is ridiculous when at Oreillys auto parts I asked a few simple questions about my tail light and the employees were more than happy to help me. Even came out to my car to look at the problem. I even installed the tail light on my own. So instead of spending $140 on a diagnostics test, plus parts $9 and time $???, I saved probably over $250 or more.Thanks for the free birthday oil change but your workers need proper training when it comes to customer service. Dont talk about your customers when they can obviously hear you.

I was driving from Florida to WA state and had two nails lodged in my tire on the way there. Thankfully we came across Billings and into Joes shop. I brought a Subaru here for a pre-purchase inspection. They gave the car a clean bill of health, said it was a great car. During the appointment they chummed it up with the (private party) seller and practically ignored my existence. After purchasing, I noticed the fluid levels in the engine were either practically bone dry or overflowing. I also noticed a ticking noise. Called back to question these things and they never returned my voicemail. after driving the car only 800 miles, a bearing in the engine blew and the car is completely trashed. I know nothing about cars, would have expected this to turn up on the inspection so I assumed they were not issues. I just paid $4075 for a car to drive it 800 miles. Thanks guys.

I was passing through Billings on a Saturday on my way out of state. My check engine light came on (accompanied by idling problems), and Heights was one of the only places open. They saw me immediately, were completely transparent about the problem, and fixed it within the hour. I was utterly amazed to be back on the road within 2 hours of having the problem. Joe and his mechanic were friendly and helpful, I wish I lived in Billings so I could use their shop regularly.

Came in because my car was sputtering and I thought it was going to be a costly repair because I thought it was my timing belt. Joe told me about the inspection they do for around $20 and was done fairly quickly even though they had other cars they were working on. Long story short they started asking when I changed my plugs and what not then they decided to change the spark plug wires and alas it was it! Just one spark plug wire was bad and now it purrs like a kitten. Better than tearing apart the engine and looking at the timing belt and the bill being $500. Overall decent experience and one of the few places open on Saturday!

They are crooks I took my truck to go get the front brakes checked because they replaced the whole front brake system in October when my brakes went out, I’m suspicious now because they told me my truck had a cracked axel that was leaking, both from wb needed replaced, a new intake system, and a whole new rear brake system and that my rack and pinion needed replaced and estimate that alone at $1100, and everything was going to be $2700 but didn’t include the front axel or the front wb... so I was thinking great it’ll be more than that. I took it to a dealership ship in Laurel that is about $40 dollars cheaper (they charge $110/hr) and they told me that the only three things wrong with my truck were the front brakes were definitely needing replaced and only my right front wb need replaced and that my rack and pinion was a 2 hour job and that the part is about $250..... so it went from being $2700+ in repairs to actually only needing $750 and my front brakes are bad and they didn’t want to use the warranty on them!!!! They are greedy crooks who will lie and try to make a more money over actually doing quality and honest work and that is absolutely disgusting and horrible!!!

Had trouble light turn on and started running rough while passing through on highway. Joe took a look at it right away and even made a couple of calls to other shops to help diagnose. Referred me to another shop to do the specialty repair and only a few $ for all the time they spent. A+ service.

This place is so dishonest and they steal out of your car/truck. I took my Suburban to Heights Car Care 05/09/18. They charged me over $2300 for a few repairs. Found out later when my son called on the cost of the parts ... that they overcharged on all the parts. Way over retail cost.One of the things that they told me I had to replace was my entire windshield wiper unit called a pitman arm. Charged me about $500. It totally broke Feb 2019 (less than a year later). I took my vehicle back bc this unit was supposed to be covered under warranty. I did not want to return to them but did so bc of the warranty. One of the mechanics said they jimmy rigged it and the wipers work now. I did not receive any paperwork showing what they did. PLUS... when I picked up my truck... my radar detector (gift from my ex husband) was stolen.I called Joe the owner to complain. He said hed take care of it and call me back. He never did. I called and spoke to a mechanic named Randy. He and Josh worked on my truck I was told. They both claim to have not seen it but reassured me that my truck was always locked when they were gone from the building or closed. Both mechanics stated they would talk about what to do and call me back. They never called me to follow up or replace my stolen item. My radar detector set between my front seats in clear view. One of them stole it. I plan to make a police report. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS DISHONEST OVERCHARGING PLACE.

DO NOT GO HERE, MY CAMERA, MY TRIPOD, VARIOUS JEWELERY, AND SOUVENIERS WERE STOLEN FROM MY VEHICLE WHILE IN THE CARE OF THIS PLACE. I live in Colorado and I was heading back home from a road trip when my car broke down in Laurel, Montana last Saturday about 2pm. By the time the tow truck arrived, Heights Car Care was the only place that was open. They said they were too backed up to work on it on Saturday, and being closed Sunday I had to wait until Monday. Of course I understood how garages are not usually open on weekends and they were nice enough to provide us with a ride to a local campground. After spending $100 to camp until Sunday, I was told Monday that they ordered the wrong fuel pump assembly for my car and would have to wait until Tuesday. I was annoyed because I had to spend more money camping and was missing time at work, but again I tried to be understanding and waited until Tuesday. I was told I would be picked up from the campground by 10am and it took over 2 hours for them to finally pick us up. When we were brought back we had to wait additional time for the owner to bring his daughter to basketball camp and they had no other staff working that could do paperwork. So finally around 2pm I was ready to leave and was in a rush back to Colorado which was 7 hours away. About 15 minutes down the road, I had a feeling I should check my car to make sure all my valuables were still intact. Immediately I noticed my $800 camera missing from my back seat. I called back and asked if they had left my car outside unlocked and the owner said he had not. He said that they moved my stuff out of my back seat so they could work on it. I dont understand why they would move my things especially because the problem was in my engine and not my cabin. I filed a police report over the phone because I knew that the owner would not look into the matter appropriately at this point in my experience and I was very pressed for time. When I returned home and unpacked my car, I realized that besides the camera, I was missing a tripod, a bag of souvenirs, and some fairly inexpensive jewellery. I have tried contacting the owner by email and by phone but he has not returned my messages. Before I even left my car there on Saturday, there was a lady in front of me who complained for about 45 minutes due to estimate errors from the shop and bait and switch tactics. I had a hellish experience having to live in my tent for several days waiting for my car, but the worst thing is that someone at Heights Car Care had to steal my camera and I lost all the pictures that went along with it. When I tried to get a warranty for my fuel pump back in Colorado, they told me that Heights Car Care had overcharged me for the part I had put in my car and had to wait for. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy and I am seeking legal action against the shop for blatantly failing to protect my items while my car was in their care.

They are really on top of their game down there .. they do a great job on the work they do, and they also do a great job of only doing the work that really needs done .. oh .. and they also seem to beat everyone else on pricing on most things : )

Quoted me several hundred dollars over what I shouldve been quoted.glad I looked into things before trusting these jokers!

Great place, great service, speedy repair, done right, and I have not had to take any of my vehicles back after the service to do it over or check it out again.
