Portland Mattress Makers was a great company to deal with. Purchase experience was very laid back, not pushy at all. We were able to try every kind of mattress in the store to figure out what we liked.Once we had selected a style, the order process was smooth and they kept us well informed. They even arranged delivery around our bedframe being delayed!We did have a sizing issue, but Portland Mattress Makers was quick to offer us a replacement within the guarantee period, no cost to us.All in all, highly recommend buying a mattress from them! I dont know why youd do anything else.

15 years ago, we moved into a custom built home that needed to be fully furnished. We bought a very nice bed frame for that home, and made the mistake of purchasing an inexpensive memory foam mattress online. Within a few years, or even less than that, there were depressions in the mattress, making it very uncomfortable.After doing some research to replace that mattress, we ended up at Portland Mattress Makers. We purchased a memory foam mattress from Portland Mattress Makers and have always been happy with our decision. The mattress is 7 years old now and still in excellent shape. I consistently get a good nights sleep and am so grateful to George and Portland Mattress Makers for making such a quality product. I am happy that we were able to support a local business in Maine, as well. Sleep health is so important to me, and the decision to buy a quality product from Portland Mattress Makers has been instrumental to my overall well being. Truthfully the first mattress didn’t work out for us but you have up to 30 days if not satisfied. They will go out if their way to accommodate. The selling point for us is the fact they are high quality, made in Maine product.

My wife and I were looking for a new mattress to replace a sleep number bed we were not comfortable on anymore. We visited Portland Mattress in Biddeford, ME, which friends had recommended.The sales person was friendly, attentive to our needs and relaxed in her approach. At her urging, we tried a number of mattresses and eventually bought a single-coil mattress.Our mattress took a few weeks to come in, due to material shortages caused by the pandemic. The wait proved to be worthwhile, as the mattress is very comfortable. We also bought new pillows that.are excellent as well.We highly recommend Portland Mattress.

I had a pretty good idea of what I did and didnt want. The woman who waited on me was very pleasant and showed me what was available in a range of price points, providing information about each mattress but not trying to steer me toward any one. I made my choice, and delivery was quickly arranged. The deliverymen were careful, efficient and personable. The mattress I selected has provided me with comfortable and backache-free sleep from day 1. An excellent experience all around. I dont think you can do better than to deal directly with the manufacturer.

I purchased my mattress through the Biddeford store. The young lady was knowledgeable and pleasant. I visited to get information, visited competitors, looked online, purchased a Maine’s Best Deals coupon and returned to the Biddeford store. After a few months on my new mattress my back issue disappeared. It isn’t my first mattress from Portland Mattress Makers. In 1990 they made a custom mattress for an antique bed for me.
