I must admit I used to just tolerate bagels - wasnt a huge fan, but still ate them from time to time. Then I ate one at Brooklyn Bagel and became a fan. This is one of the essential go-to spots for Beverly Hills locals, on South Beverly and away from the tourist crowds. I even had the pleasure of eating at Larry Kings table one morning while pitching various TV ideas to him. Larry owns the place you see. Suddenly I realized I was sitting across from the man who has probably interviewed more famous people than anyone else in broadcast history. I mean he had the last interview with the Chairman himself Frank Sinatra! He asked me, Do you know Les Moonves? I replied, Are you kidding? I dont even know Larry King! Anyway, Larry is one of our favorite local denizens who is a very engaged member of the community. The moral of the story is, stay local, eat a bagel and have some coffee at Brooklyn Water Bagel. And get to know Larry - hes the man (king) with the bagels (and muffins).
Great bagel sandwiches 🥯Try the salmon 😋
Pricey. Imagine to pay $16.15 for one breakfast bagel (cage egg and chopped sausage/ham) and an iced coffee? Fresh bagel and tired coffee was the only good. Quality not the best.
The bagels are good, but there is something wrong with the staff and management. Most of the staff Ive dealt with are pushy and rude, but the big problem I have with this place is that the past few times Ive gone in there the staff doesnt seem to being taking covid restrictions seriously at all. The last time I was there, a staff member was sitting in the booth inside with her mask off, eating. Other members of the staff had their masks under their nose, and one cashier lifted up her mask in front of me to sip her drink.
This place ROBS you blind. I went there this morning to get a half a dozen bagels and a small cream cheese. The bill was $17 and they were asking for a $5-$7 tip. Thats up to a 40% tip. When I asked for a receipt, the cashier said they are out of paper and cant print the receipt. they texted me the receipt which was not itemized - It just had the total of $17. I went online and saw that a half dozen bagel was $6.99 so I called the store and asked why I was charged $17 for 6 bagels and a cream cheese. Her response, this is Beverly Hills. Online prices dont apply, and then she hung up on me. I will never shop from them again. Its obvious that they want to squeeze every dollar out of people. Shame on you!
I am from New York and can say the bagels here are flavorful and the right size. The everything bagel is appropriately seasoned as well. The Brooklyn egg sandwich is a generous portion with more egg than I have ever had in a sandwich. The staff are friendly and the ice cubes made of coffee are an amazing idea.Remember to bring more sugar if you let the ice cubes melt because they actually add more coffee instead of watering it down.
I am not normally an online review person, but I have now had multiple experiences where I have been overcharged, and am reading that this is happening to other customers as well. My team ordered bagels that should have been $2.89 a piece coming to $52.02 and we were charged $88.17. I spoke with the manager and he had no explanation and would not resolve the matter with me. Decent bagels, but dishonest service.
Larry King must be turning in his grave! Somebody took over and didnt evenadd some fresh paint. The bagels are not as good and the prices too high! Oy!
Fantastic tasting Bagels with great coffee to match. If youre looking for a great place for delivery for brunch over the weekends they are definitely a good option.Great local bagel shop in Beverly Hills located on Beverly Drive.
I really enjoy this place, I come here 3-4 times a week for breakfast. An omelette comes with 1 side and a bagel with cream cheese. However, when asked if I could have a coffee instead of the bagel and side, I was told that it was not possible. I’m not too sure how that logic makes any sense. A bagel with cream cheese by itself is $2.99 and a coffee is $2.39. There is also less labor considering you pour it yourself. Needless to say, a $14 omelette with 3 cucumber slices is not worth it to me.
Looks like this place is not what it used to be. They have a new name, removed everything about their water and bagels are not fresh.
The restrooms were dirty. The employee didnt wash his hands after using them. We couldnt eat our food.
Great bagels for a grab and go tuna fish sold by the half pint is also good . The location itself lacks in a number of things the first is being organized and it is not super clean . To go it is at OBWB
These are great bagels! Whether you are missing the NY bagels or grew up on the small mom and pop bagels from the Valley, this place will become your go to. And my kids also love the muffins so it’s a win win win. During the pandemic we are doing pick up in order to support this small business and their wonderful staff. Stay safe Claudia, Krissy and Amir!
This place used to be great. Today I paid $2.00 per bagel, and they were stale. The girl behind the counter couldnt believe it either. Small cream cheese was $8.30am! Totally rediculous!
Bagels SO fluffy, more lox than I deserve. And an eye to Covid safety.
I got an iced coffee and a sesame bagel with cream cheese. I felt like I was in New York. I recommend this place. The coffee was good too.
Oh wow the Salmon Bagel was delicious must try it’s called Manhattan .!!
Coffee and bagels done right. (Hint: its the water & coffee ice) The iced coffee here is the best Ive had. 👍👍
We had the Manhattan. Very generous portion of smoked salmon. To much cream cheese though.
The only children friendly place along South Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills. Good place to bring your children or grandchildren without having people staring at you like other restaurants in town. If you want more quiet place then this is not the place. There are many other coffee place along the street. In busy times, service is slow. One cashier girl is always bossy and unfriendly. Dont really know why Larry King is keeping her. Thats the only turn off in this place. Running out of self service coffee is normal here but they come around to brew more. Bagels are made fresh continuously. Manhattan bagel is a must try.
We love Brooklyn Water Bagel, especially this one! The service is fast and theyre really kind it gets very busy sometimes so finding a seat or a table isnt always the easiest thing in the world but everything moves very quickly. As a native New Yorker I love the concept and I love the coffee even more.
Having grown up in and around NYC and having bagels on the lower east side. I can say these bagels are fairly good but not perfect. Store doesnt have quite the right smell. Appropriate selection although lacking the salt bagel I love so much. Smoked salmon was good. Coffee good. OJ fair. I had a traditional cream cheese salmon tomato onion everything bagel. Service fast and accurate. Prices reasonable.
Pretty good bagel here. very nice a street to walk here too. Friendly staff here.
So far, they only bagels Ive found in LA that meet my former-New-Yorker standards. Great egg sandwiches!
Rude staff
Brooklyn Water Bagels. OMG. again Beverly Hills. I ordered a dozen bagels of assorted flavors of which only one was the type I eat but as I am with one of my daughters and they mean more to me than breathing I do as I am told and enjoy it. We also ordered white fish spread (if you have not had white fish spread on a warm bagel you have no business eating bagels) and tuna fish. The white fish spread was so yummySome of the best I have ever had. The tuna fish... well... it was okay. Good taste but a little dry. Still I ate it all and felt like a KING.
Delicious food and coffee. Great service.
Definitely not the best bagel in LA and definitely not even close to a NY bagel. If you are from NY do not go. It’s fine but really over reaching calling the place the Original Brooklyn Water Bagel. Similar to an Einstein’s Bros. Bagel ...edible but not great.
Its good but they barely put any cream cheese on the bagels.
Unquestionably the best bagels in town. Our favorites - the Flagels!! These are flat bagels that once double toasted are insanely delicious!! Go this way if you normally scoop/dont love how thick bagels are. Theyre enormous but crispy bagel heaven!!!
Its like being in NYC. Quick and friendly service.
Unfortunately, they did not use gloves to pick up the bagels or muffins
So good! Yes, even a coke tastes better with Brooklyn water. These bagels are the real deal. Its so good! I cant believe Ive waited this long to try it. Do yourself a favor. Dont wait. Go!
The best bagels and black and white cookies. I have been here many times and it is amazing every time. The woman who works Saturday mornings is really helpful too!
Closest to NY bagels here in So Cal. We drive from Pasadena just for the bagels.
Best bagels outside of NYC’s Ess-a-Bagel!
Ive been coming here for years with the family. By far the best bagels in town!
Has a bit of that NY vibe. The food is really good, great coffee selection. Parking down the street in the lot isnt too inconvenient, and occasionally you can find one on the street.
Wonderful staff. Sometimes you can run into rude people in Beverly Hills and thats unfortunate. However, the staff at Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. is beyond kind! There let me try some of their Brooklynized Water from the soda machine and we ended up spending $30 when we just popped our heads in with no intention of buying. We were just curious. The bagels were delicious and the environment is airy with glass dividers and big windows to see all of the interesting folks passing by.
My parents live in South Florida and have been telling me about the coffee iced cubes for months, but until today I had no idea why it was such a big deal! The bagels remind me of the hot bagels my dad used to bring home early Saturday morning when I lived in NJ. This is the closest to a NY bagel I have had since moving to LA. Menu is small, but perfect. Staff was super friendly and bagels were AMAZING.
There was a lot of choice of bagel, didnt have a lot for cream cheese. The bagels were okay but I prefer Einsteins. Not great coffee but fast way to get breakfast.
The best coffee in town and fresh beggels and best prices in all LA
Order a toasted bagel got in the car was not toasted
Slow service even though staff seems nice enough- but the food is very uneventful!!Won’t be back
Good food, and friendly staff. Just wish all the good stuff on the everything bagels wouldn’t fall off.
Make sure you count a bakers dozen (13-14) they only give 12 unless checked
Marvelous simply Marvelous I go there every chance I get...its Original & hot delicious bagels & food & good ice coffee!!
I went to pick up two orders, one of them was ready but not the second one. Had to wait almost 15 minutes for it. (Not crowded.)
Condolences over the passing of Larry King.
First time having it, was not bad, but the chicken philly had no taste at all. The dries were great, but if you screw up potatoes you should go out of business, ***clears throat to the tune of in n out***Id try it again, but there are other bagel shops that Ive had that blow this out the water.
EXCELLENT BAGELS! EXCELLENT SERVICE! EXCELLENT LOX! THE CREAMIEST CREAM CHEESE! YOUVE GOTTA GO THERE!
Just spent $17 on a turkey bacon sandwich. Just the sandwich, no drink or chips. It wasn’t even that good.
Its a predictable bagel store. I think the best part is you can watch them make the bagels and its a good way to occupy the kids while youre waiting for your order to come up.
Its a good thing the bagels are so good. they never answer their phone for take-out orders and if you go in the line is guaranteed to be wrapped around the place with only one register open and several people standing around behind the counter not doing very much.
Terrible service. It was me and my girlfriends first time there and I don’t eat meat so I tried to have my bagel changed, and then the “manager” comes up and says I can’t substitute anything I can either get the one or nothing being extremely disrespectful in front of my girlfriend. After being disrespected by the manager, the worker then starts to yell at me from 5 feet away being a complete jerk. I walked out, if I could rate 0 stars I would. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE
Good NY style bagels, the Nova is the way to go
Love them Bagles! And the customer service is pretty good to :-)
The staff is friendly and the ambiance of the place is nice.
Brooklyn Water Bagel boasts a bagel that brings the glorified Brooklyn quality and taste to those less fortunate to live in the big apple. The water thats used in making bagels is considered to be an essential ingredient in making NY bagels stand out from the rest, so BWB uses a water filtration system that is suppose to replicate the water produced by Brooklyns tap (this technology named Brooklyn Water Works is named after the original water tower in Brooklyn). As someone whos lived in NY and misses the taste of a toasted bagel and cream cheese from the local bagel shops I decided to see just how good these are. It wasnt as exciting as Id hoped. Its a solid bagel but nothing particularly special that you cant get from Noahs Bagel or other chains like this. The commercial and chain-store design of the place itself really takes away from that small, deli-style, local feel of bagel shops in NY and to me doesnt taste as good as ones Ive had. I would recommend it for a good bagel but I doubt Ill really come here when I have a craving for a pumpernickel or everything bagel toasted with cream cheese.
Lady in cashier was very rude and disrespectful she got my order wrong since she was chatting over the phone and not listening to the order when I asked her to get me right order she really got mad. Owner should put customer service training for the employees otherwise will have negative impact on the business in long term.
If I can give this place negative star I would. Worst customer service and attitude ever! I ordered over the phone the girl didn’t have any phone etiquette. And when I picked up my order and went home they made my order completely wrong! I called them and the “manager” Abby (if that’s his real name) was so rude he had NO understanding of what customer service means. I will NEVER go back here and the place wasn’t disgustingly dirty as well to top it off. Save your time and money and go to NOAHS BAGEL. I can’t believe the way he treats his customers!
Great service, very nice people and great sandwiches.
One of my favorite bagel spots in all of LA, great coffee too.
Terrible. Unfriendly staff. Did not provide receipt. Dark roast coffee I wanted was out and medium was like colored water. Order was wrong and then wanted to charge even more to fix than if they had gotten correct to start.
Awesome bagels. Best Ive have out west. Coffee is delicious as well.
Try the Manhattan best lox bagel I ever had. I love everything about this place great ice coffee and great friendly staff.
I want to like this place more than I actually like this place. They do make a big deal out of the water that they have Brooklyinzed. Sounds like hooey to me, but its the only place to get a decent bagel (that I know of) within a half mile of my office on WIlshire Blvd.
Fresh bagels and really tasty after 3pm they discount the bagels
Good bagels. But absolutely love the iced coffee with coffee ice cubes.
The extreme water filtration system here really works. Their bagels are like none else in LA. The Manhattan on a toasted garlic bagel is where it’s at. And coffee with ice-coffee-cubes.
Larry King nailed it! A taste of New York.
The place has excellent food and a great vibe, but dont let it fool you. I too asked for a coffee with my omelette instead of the bagel and hashbrown while paying for the bagel and hashbrown. A coffee is 1/4 the price. I literally said to the manager im offering to save you money and time by paying for a bagel and hashbrowns but only taking a coffee, and you are saying i cant do this? she replied yes. KEEP IN MIND THESE PPL HAVE HAD MY BUSINESS EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS.
Place is amazing especially there friendly customer service and always ask for Carlos he will help you out with anything
Love their bagels here! Dont go crazy on their wide variety of menu options. Just go for their bagels!
My (every) morning (or afternoon ) place to eat. Im addicted to bagels and they have the best!
Great bagels, nice coffee selection. Very fast . A great experience.
Mediocre bagels, didnt seem boiled. Whatever you do, dont order anything with egg as theyre microwaved. Guess a flat top grill is too BK authentic
Love this place. Great staff and bagels are always fresh.
Great place. Great service.
Nice to find an authentic New York style bagel place in L.A.. lived in Brooklyn for 20 years. Aside from the rush and bustle of NYC, the food and quality are on par.
The best bagels this side of the Mississippi.
Disappointed that menu picture shows capers on the beagles, but they are an extra cost. But the food is still delicious!
Omg way too over priced! Dont go here!
Been here many times, lucky enough to see Larry King once in the morning. Good bagels and breakfast sandwiches.
Extremely rude service. Bengals are whatever not that great oh, and then microwave a lot of their stuff
Bagles good but our order was kinda jacked up.
I run ANTFLIX STUDIOS across the street and I work for Larry King bagel shop part time for minimum wage: $10.5/hour before I make loads of money as a filmmaker, I have to. Please go on Amazon and search ANTFLIX to watch the movies I have done. Free with ads or no ads with your Amazon Prime Video subscription.best,George AntonHollywood Filmmaker.
Bagels are good, pretty standard selection. They have coffee ice cubes for your iced coffee.
I was a bit disappointed with the taste of my bagel sandwich. Expected more
Bagels are very good quality. The long wait was my only issue.
No more Brooklynized water. Coffee was weak and bagels small and not as good as when Larry King ran the joint.
The best bagel in la!
I love their bagels!
Great, see Larry King there every time
Great food, so-so ambiance
Delicious bagel sandwich
