Extra Space Storage is an excellent solution for those with less storage options at their current residence. The facility was always clean and I never had an issue accessing my unit. The unit kept all of my items clean and there were never any issues with insects or rodents. If I ever need storage space in the future I know who I will be calling.

We had a great experience renting a unit. Several options were discussed, we chose what we thought would work best, were shown the unit to make sure it would work and got all set up in a matter of about 15 minutes. The facility is very clean and the staff is very upbeat, positive and helpful.

I have way too much stuff in my house. Every few years I take a load here. One day our kids can empty it. They might enjoy it you never know what they might find as a surprise. Cost here is reasonable to declutter the stuff that is not trash that you have no room for.

Leaking roof and wet floor after rain. Plastic tarps above caged units to try and protect from water damage. See pictures - puddles of water on floor, and this was after recent roof repair work.Climate control is borderline - pretty warm and humid in this storage warehouse environment.Rude, disrespectful, and agreesive manager.

I was asked to review my experience here which I never ever do because, if you have nothing nice to say you should not say it, is a rule that I live by. This is the 2nd review that I have done in a very long time.Carmen greeted me with good old-fashioned excellent customer service. That may not sound like much but in todays world it means everything to me. She was courteous, pleasant, honest, direct and compassionate and most of all Carmen helped me with my problem. The service with Extra Space Storage was always excellent and the space was easily accessible. My only complaint would be the rate at which the monthly cost of my unit raised, which doubled over the course of one year.

The good: I liked my unit and the location. I liked the quality of climate control, and I paid a good price for the proximity to DC.The bad: I think navigating the units and determining where your space is could be simplified with more signs or guidance. I imagine that pre-covid, the staff would personally show people to their new units. Trying to figure it out ate into my time.I discovered mice droppings along with shredded paper on the floor when I was moving out. Most of my my things were in plastic boxes and saran wrapped, but I imagine that the mice would be problematic for someone with cardboard boxes.Like other storage units, the price is subject to raises sometimes.Dont even think about trying to open your units without gloves if youre sporting a manicure.

Fantastic customer service, Anika Henry made the entire leasing process simple, enjoyable, and transparent from start to finish. The facility is top of the line as well, easy access to climate and non climate controlled units.

Every step of the process was smooth and pleasant. Great staff willing to take the time to show me different units and make recommendations based on my needs. They were also willing to hold a specific unit for me while I got my plan figured out. When the time came to commit I was in and out of there with the rental process in about 15 minutes as I recall. Month to month rentals are good (no long term). Storage features met our requirements exactly. Access is a cinch -- worked the very first time I tried -- and the place is clean and well-lit without being glaring. Its nice having a truck rental company right there on the same block too.

Wonderful experience at the Bethesda location of Extra Space Storage. Carmen was fantastic! She spent the time required explaining our options and showing us the different units. Owing & Anika were also really helpful. After visiting a few other storage facilities, this was by far the best experience. Excellent customer service. I highly recommend this site.

Carmen was great serving our requests swiftly and very professionally. She was in great spirit and was quick to advice. I had talked to her the day before on the phone and she gave us time to decide on our decision to close the storage due to our move. Highly recommended doing business there.

I stayed 35 days at the unit and got my first months free plus they waived my prorated 5 day stay after the first month. Only had to pay initiation fee and insurance (~$35 total)!!! For a 5x10 unit!!! SO good!

We parked our wrapped Mathnasium 1964 VW Bus in a parking spot right next to the Crescent Trail while its regular Parking spot wasn’t available. It was safe and apparently got a lot of attention.Thanks for providing a great and safe spot for this special vehicle.

Ive used the Bethesda facility twice. Each time move-in and move-out were quick and easy. The employees at this facility are competent, courteous and considerate. Highly recommend!

I made this move long-distance, during the pandemic, so things were probably more confusing than usual. The employees were always friendly and helpful, and most likely a little confused about current policies themselves, which may be the case at any similar facility. But employees were accessible, the cost seemed to be lower than most, and the facility is well located and easy to access.

Easy to contact people

Expensive, but everyone was nice and accommodating.To clarify, 3 stars from a good reviewer doesnt mean bad; it means fine. These people will take money and hold your stuff safely. It just was too expensive for what service they provided. Money was no issue on my end, I just believe it was too expensive. The inflation due to proximity to Bethesda is palpable.

Awesome! To be clear, moving is a hassle. The team at Extra Space Storage - Carmen in particular, seemed to understand that and worked to assuage my concerns centering on cleanliness, safety and access. She never missed a beat! She provided me with a quote that was exact and not a penny extra. Both my move-in and move-out were hassle free and uncomplicated. Whereas relocating and placing things one cares about into storage has its own layer of stress - know that should you need a safe place to temporarily hold your items - this location is where you need to be!

We love ExtraSpace storage. Our diminutive row house in DC is just a tad too small and so we periodically exchange seasonal items we keep in storage (think winter/summer and holiday goodies). We also happen to maintain way too much art and a few extra pieces of furniture we likely should pass along, but just dont. We have employed ExtraSpace storage for several years to support our habits. Safe, secure, and lots of hours in every day to reach them and self serve our internal, air conditioned unit. We conduct all transactions electronically, too, making it really easy. Finally, just this past week, we moved our son, who was just graduated from undergrad and will be starting grad school in the fall. Guess where we put his storable belongings? Thats right, on the way back to DC, we actually called and were able to secure a second unit just for his belongings over the phone. When we arrived (after office hours), the staff at ExtraSpace Storage had already readied his unit just down the hall from the one we already had, and even left us a lock inside the closed unit. Fantastic service.

Amazing! Saved my move, so kind and comforting.

My family used this location for our storage needs for a period of 12 years. We found the facility to be conveniently located, affordable, and secure. The front office staff at this location are particularly customer sensitive. They went out of their way to ensure that our needs were met. The manager of the River Road location was extremely helpful during our move out and did everything he could to make that day go smoothly.

The staff was super friendly when I showed up, very professional and efficient. The process to sign up went smoothly, was all electronic and they answered all my questions (even anticipating some as well). The storage unit itself was clean, the area is well-lit and makes me feel safe. Highly recommend.

I moved from Miami to Washington D.C, unfortunately the moving company was a nightmare and they didn’t give me an exact date for the delivery or at least a 24 hr notice so I could notify the building management of the new place and book the service elevator. They called at 5pm telling me they were in town and that I had to be ready to receive my stuff at 11pm. I was able to buy sometime and asked them to deliver everything the next day in the morning, but since the building elevator was already booked for the weekend, I had to reserve a storage unit so I could place all my belongings in a safe place for a while and be able to move into my new place with more time. I found this place and in a matter of minutes they reserved me a unit. The staff at this facility was extremely courteous and professional. I also got 2 months for free. I definitely would recommend this place. Excellent facility, the staff was awesome. Thank God for this place.

They were great. Pleasant and courteous and although their promotion was over they worked on getting me a space better than what I had planned and still easy on my wallet!

Rates & facility seemed OK the we were shopping, but just a couple of months after we moved in, they raised the rates. And they keep racking up the rates every couple of months! We are totally low maintenance since we just use this space for seasonal stuff. We only access our stuff every few months and are totally self-sufficient. Their staff lift is zero for our account. So why are they raising our rates every 5 minutes? Be warned, their advertised rates are a scam. We are moving.
