The girl at the counter with the glasses was very nice and she even recommended me an interesting drink choice. Think it was called the iced mint cream. Correct me if I am wrong. But this place is awesome. For my first time going there. My experience was definitely a good one. Ps; I drank all of my beverage already and can’t share any pics of it lol.

They don’t check online orders and hence you wait for basic order for 30min, and when you ask for the delay they answer YAH. Advise not to go there if you don’t want to ruin your day

Bad experience. I asked if they carry a light roast coffee. I explained that I don’t like any dark or medium roast coffees. The gentleman answered with confidence that they do have a light roast coffee and it would be one of their pour over.!! I got the coffee and drove away just to discover that the coffee is one of the darkest bitter coffee I have ever tasted.

My favorite coffee spot in Bethesda. Located in the busy downtown, its currently only doing curbside service, but there are plenty of benches nearby. Highly recommend the nitro cold brew and literally any of the baked goods.

They open at 6am, I was the 3rd person in line at 603, and 3 ppl in line behind me. My 1st time there. Everyone knew each other in line by NAME and they all wanted their usual. The barista knew them all by name, TOO!!I even said out loud......everyone seems to know each other. I feel left out!THAT should tell you its a good place for coffee!! And it did not disappoint. The pastries were wonderful, too!!!

Great spot to grab coffee in Bethesda. they roast the beans all week at their facility in Rockville so everything you get at the cafe is recently roasted. The staff is super friendly and the ambiance is great. I highly recommend the Kenyan coffee they have for sale, the house blend is also very good

Not my thing. Big gulp-style coffee palates may find this appealing, an espresso coffee palate wont. They served me a sour, watery espresso. I contemplated asking them to remake but when its that far off theres really no point.

One of the best local coffee roasters and Cafe in the city. Very good selection of coffee and tea. The Cafe will make a coffee any style you want. They have a frequent buyer reward program. Foods are OK nothing to write home about. Come for coffee for take away or for home.

Ive been coming here for years and have always loved the vibe. Its a great place to enjoy a quiet lunch while reading a book or to meet up with friends. The staff is always friendly, but my server Mary today really stood out. She was warm, helpful, and attentive without being pushy which is exactly what I wanted. Thanks again for a great lunch 49!

The manager was completely out of line! So rude and disrespectful to a fellow employee that was just trying to help. I called the shop shortly after around 12:30 to relay my concerns and the manager said that he found the call to be rude and hung up on me..? Love the coffee there but hate the mistreatment and work environment I witnessed.

Best coffee in Bethesda Row in my opinion. So nice to lounge here for some minutes in the early morning. Their own coffee feels fresh and tastes bold. I like its flavor: solid, intense, has depth, but is also smooth. Here they serve myriad concoctions with excellence, in a welcoming ambiance.

This review is only about the quality of the product being sold here- service was fine and the coffee shop itself was clean and well maintained. Do not come here if you are a “coffee snob” in the slightest. I purchased a pound of their “lightest, fruitiest roast” and after brewing it in my French press, I threw my cup of coffee out. If their “light” roast is this bitter and burnt tasting, I’d hate to try any of their other roasts. Also tried the free cup of whatever was house brewed that day and we threw that out too. You’re better off shopping for a quality, non bitter roast at whole foods.

Quartermaine seems to be one of maybe just 3 coffee shops in Bethesda, and it shows. The atmosphere is very charming, and they are not afraid to make their coffee stronger than Starbucks or Peets would. They also have some nice drinks like London Fog, which I dont recall seeing at many other cafes. However, I have had difficulty with their points system, which seems to be inconsistent at best. Even then, I think the prices are very reasonable nonetheless.

Amazing, locally-roasted coffee! Its great to have this option in town as an alternative to Starbucks or Peets. Theyve tried branching out into breakfast with some smoothies, but I havent tried those yet. Ask for the half/half lemonade and tea. Very good.

Cozy, meaning comfortably small, but with the amazingly ungodly amount of wall outlets, I bet this place gets packed quick. I would love setting up shop here and people watching all day, but then Id be that guy who just wont leave.

Nice alternative to Starbucks, one of the very few that seem to have found a formula to compete head-on. I think the formula is as follows: offer everything that Starbucks does (decent coffee, WiFi, terrible food, a quiet place to sit/meet/work), and locate in a high-income area where many people prefer to avoid ubiquitous national chain stores.

Overall, the coffee is great and most of the team members there are really sweet and welcoming...But recently theres been one older gentleman there (I think his name is Andy?) that has been giving me the creeps. The way he stares at me is off-putting and Im 99% sure that hes flirting with me and its just...uncomfortable.I generally dont give bad reviews but it gets so uncomfortable sometimes that theres days I refuse to come in.

Thank goodness for Qs. It gives downtown Bethesda a neighborhood coffee shop with really good coffee. As a child it was Giffords Ice Cream where everyone went. Long gone now its Qs. Coffee drinks, teas, hot chocolate, water, a few sweets and one can be ready for the day or night ahead. Really good coffee. Very nice staff. Line moves quickly. Closed Christmas Day. Funny to see folks coming by anyway and walk away dejected. One Christmas I will sit outside with a thermos of hot coffee. Merry Christmas!

I find it a great stopping-off point on my bike ride in to work. I have to agree with the one commenter, the coffee is good, the pastries are ok, but the staff seems off. They are nice and fulfill the order and the wifi works well, but sometimes I could do with not having to listen to their conversations. The store isnt laid out really well either. There is always confusion by customers about which counter to go to for drinks vs. beans.

Ick. I tried one of the frozen coffee drinks 2 weeks ago and the coffee tasted burnt. I like Starbucks so roasted coffee doesnt bother me but this coffee just tasted like burnt beans were scraped straight into frozen ice. It was way over sweetened. It was the worst drink Ive ever had. I wasted my money because I threw it out. I didnt have time to go back and complain .Today I tried the iced tea with fresh squeezed lemon and again I was disappointed.I could go on but Ive said enough. I wont be back.

Ive been going to quartermaine for a couple years now and have with few exceptions been pleased with the quality of their coffee. However, I am regularly put off by their staff. The wife recently ordered a drink that the employee was unfamiliar with but which she had ordered there before and met with inexplicable hostility. When she tried to politely describe it he only became more frustrated. Also, their WiFi settings seem to be set to allow only a very low limit of people to join - I have tried on no less than 4 devices including iOS and android. I normally would prefer to patronize local establishments but if they specialize in specialty drinks but only get exasperated when a customer orders one then I think Id rather cross the street to dunkin donuts where coffee is ok, the staff is cheerful, the WiFi always works.
