Not sure what the pandemic did to this place, but the staff is L O S T. You shouldn’t expect fast, efficient service from this spot. They also don’t like to make money after a certain time so they can get out right on time. Seems like a bad business move to me. The couple fat guys with glasses left still working there somehow after years are still full of themeselves and come off offended more than helpful when it comes to questions pertaining to store inventory or about starting games.

Went for a tournament yesterday and while the judge was excellent the register staff was the worst I encountered in the many game shops Ive visited. The femme person working stood there doing nothing while I continually tried to call her over to get help with cards and the masc person working the register showed active contempt to me wanting to buy stuff along with throwing a $23 card I was purchasing. Would not recommend this shop.Oh, they are also scalpers with a store front. Prices on Pokemon is extremely inflated.

Went here to sell my Pokémon bulk and as soon as I opened the box right away they told me: “Based on the condition of the cards we will have to pass on the bulk.” Now, I understand that condition is everything, but my friend had brought in some cards 3 days ago as of typing this post with the same condition of cards as mines and they took the time to look through his cards and gave him a good amount money for them. So… what’s the difference from mine? I think they’re just lazy and didn’t felt like having to go through the trouble of looking at my cards. I highly advise people to look for a better alternative to sell Pokémon cards because these clowns are nothing, but lazy people. I don’t get how people like that can even have a job, but whatever.

Read some real good reviews about this place before I went out there. I went to buy some Pokemon cards, Top Cut did not disappoint. Great Comic Book store, lots of inventory, awesome, friendly staff, very knowledgeable. Im just a collector but there was a lot going in this store. Very good vibes, highly recommend checking this place out.

Picture speaks for itself. These guys are price gouging on Pokemon product due to current hype. Hopefully people remember these business practices when the hype subsides. I would not be surprised if these folks are going to targets and Walmarts to buy out product then sell in their store for a double up. Maybe something to bring to the attention of The Pokemon Company (TPCI) to investigate their distributor and their eligibility to host any sanctioned events in the future.

Has pokemon stuff for reasonable prices! I go mainly for model kits and everyones pretty nice. There are some pretty good deals here, most kits are in the 20-40 dollar range. Cards really depend, but theres a little something for every nerd here!

Not only are they selling Pokémon sets for QUADRUPLE MSRP… BUT we also went to the Evolving Skies prerelease, was told you can’t buy a prerelease deck without playing in the tournament.Tournament hall was packed shoulder to shoulder with maskless people.Went to Fair Games in Downers Grove, was sold the prerelease deck AND was told Nintendo didn’t sanction tournaments because of the pandemic.So not only are they ripping customers off, but they also don’t care about the safety of their patrons.Customer beware.

This is not a good place full of good people who want to make other enjoy their hobby as other negative review point out their already troublesome online behavior. This is a bad place run on poor business practices done on purpose to save the company money at the direct cost to the customer. Things like cutting corners on protection in things like shipped orders. Manipulation of selling platforms to avoid the negative feedback due of their choices. There are local places who deserve your loyalty, this is not one of them.

This place is great. Its not at its usual peak,but what can you do during a pandemic. Still they offer a great selection of everything. From shirts and jackets to modelkits and figures. Oh and cant forget part of the name,the COMICS!! Theres a really good stash to chose from. Definitely recommend,more so when things are back to normal. Then youll have the Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG back fully.

Overall good card store with dope pokemon and magic cards. Really enjoyed my pulls from shining fates! One mishap with mis-scanned items so had to make a refund. Nothing major. All good.

I called in for a comic that was hard to find the very day it came out. After finding out they had the one I wanted, Top Cut Comics was willing to hold onto the comic for me until the end of the day. I called plenty of other comic stores in the area who were either sold out, selling the comic way over price tag, or unwilling to hold onto a comic for someone they didnt know. Top Cut Comics is that very thing, top cut. They served me well and will probably do the same for you. Im definitely going back for more. Im an old-school comic book fan. And Ive got to tell you this is one of the finest places to come and pick comic book. The attendant at the store was very helpful and there were large areas for you to have social distancing and still work your collectible cards five stars from me!

Went there 02/22/2021 was asking about products and the customer service was awful, the guy seemed bothered and was no help at all. I ended up purchasing a $150 booster box and a $30 product but will not shop here again terrible customer service. Didnt even thank us or greet us felt so unwelcome.

Its been a couple of decades since Ive held a comic book in my hands. I stumbled across this place on accident, and damn, Im glad I did.Shout-out to the guy with the beard (forgot his name, sorry). I told him I was just getting back into it, and I needed to piece together a couple of back issues. He helped me score everything I needed.(And $48 dollars later 😂 He also recommend some great new titles and stories that he thought Id like.)Im back into comic books again, and it feels great. Theres nothing that beats the feel of paper and ink between you fingers. Thanks for all your help, long beard dude .The place is super clean .Theres also a room in the back for magic and Pokemon tournaments, too.Its an old school comic shop that is well taken care of.Their front door is on the west side of the building. It DOESNT face Ogden. Just look for the ginormous Hulk thats painted on the wall .

Its a small comic book store that has a wide variety of items that they sell, they have alphabetized comic books that span an entire large desk, collectibles, drinks, and they even have special events like weekly super smash Bros ultimate tournaments on Sundays. They also have a back room for board games and such, definitely worth checking out!

1.5 STARS..Nice inventory/merch/clean stoor.. management decline to sell product at last minute because hours of covid.online hours said 7 p.m close and turned down customer at 6p.m..meanwhile a trade card event was going on the back?felt bad for that customer for not getting that purchase and the way it was said to him smh

They could have been a bit more attentive to our visit. All in all, great place. They have all of the comic amenities. Would recommend if your a comic fan.Wont recommend if your casually looking or curious. Its a closed world, so unless youre jumping in, dont expect much.

Top Cut is a really chilled out place. You get a gamer atmosphere when you go there. You can talk about comics, card games, video games, and various other subjects with the staff. Weekly events are planned and you can stop by to simply hang out if you want.This location has my seal of approval.

Watch out for this retailer online! They list at multiple price points and refund the lower values if they were to sell more than what is in their inventory. Im sure they have taken more nefarious actions with other clients, but this tactic isnt used by reputable online retailers so be careful and stay away from these guys. Very unprofessional staff and shady business practices are always a no for me. Wish I could leave 0/5 stars. Cheers all ~ be careful!

I love this place. They got everything plus a huge area to build decks talk to people or battle. The people are always very friendly and helpful. I always enjoy going and seeing what new cards they have. I would highly recommend top cut comics.

I walked in, was browsing, then saw a staff member playing a game. I asked him a simple question, and he took it upon himself to explain in detail the game, the mechanics of the thing I asked about, and give his opinions on the mechanic in the context of the games meta. This experience was great, and made me far more likely to return knowing staff care not only about their customers, but the products they market as well.

Definitely disappointed in the service last time I was here. I bought a portfolio. Tried to return it as it was damaged and they refused to do anything about it because they don’t do refunds and told me to contact the manufacturer because the damage looks like it’s a manufacturing defect. I don’t care what the damage looks like, the seller is responsible for the merchandise they sell. Speaking of which, most brand new products they sell can be found online much cheaper anyways, as it turns out. Definitely not coming back here again.

I made an order with Top Cut Comics earlier this month and after a few days they explained that they had oversold their inventory of one of the cards. The card was $2-3 under the closest price on the market. Hence why I threw it in my cart and proceeded to use them for a number of other cards in exchange for the value saved.Because Ive been around a long time in the Pokemon/YuGiOh TCGs I knew about this tactic of overselling the inventory and refunding the lower price points a week or two after the fact. This behavior traps many customers, like myself, into overpaying for cards just to get a deal on one they may need - only to have that part of the order changed days or weeks later.After contacting them I advised them to provide me a full refund, as all of the cards they were sending were contingent on the one they were not sending, and therefore I no longer had a need for them since they changed the order.They refunded nearly all of the purchase and lied saying they had still sent it (however, the tracking number doesnt support that claim). At this point I dont care about the purchase, I just want ALL of my money back. On principle, I dont want these criminals to get a penny from me.But, I could be waiting a while to get the money I paid back. They are no longer responding to me.Be careful when purchasing from Top Cut Comics in person or online! They are infamous for scamming in many similar ways to this!

Clean and organized location during the week without a tournament going on. I havent been there during the tournament time but its anything like its old location on Archer by the McDonalds then its probably filled with wrappers of booster packs and junk food wrappers. Regardless they have a friendly staff and helpful.

Walked in today for the first time and WOW the place looked pretty cool! So much to look at, I could be in here all day. I came here to pick up a gift for my niece (age 10) and nephew (age 7). I was greeted as soon as I walked in and asked if I needed help. Eric was super nice and informative. He helped me to pick out age appropriate comics and offered a few other recommendations. I will defiantly return. Thanks for the help!

Very chill and laid back. Players also help you with being better at whichever card game you are playing.

Occasionally play magic the gathering here but the crowd isnt that big. The Pokemon and yugioh scene is pretty big here and they do have some cool collectible and games. If youre going there for an event make sure to get there a little early so you can park in the lot due to space being a little tight.

Great and friendly workers. Amazing items. Wish it had slightly more Simpsons items but so much in the store it was amazing. Reasonably priced as well.

Great place to get away from the world. They have Pokemon, they have Super Mario Brothers where you can actually play in the store. They have awesome figurines awesome comic they have really cool stuff youre definitely a great and clean store.

Should be named Top Cut Gaming instead. Graphic novel section fairly unorganized. No older comics just mainly recent ones. When I walked in staff was busy cleaning an vacuuming leaving a cord around that had to be manuvered around something that should be done before the store opens with no customers inside. Not very impressed with this place at all.

First time coming into the shop after passing by it on many times. I was first impressed by the huge Hulk on the side of the building and the promos in the windows telling the customer (me) that they have Yu-Gi-Oh events there. When I did walk in, I was impressed of how much stuff they had there, figures, model kits, comics, manga, they have it all, and for great deals. The stuff I had in mind to get, the items that Ive been wanting, they had there. When I went up to the counter, the man was very nice and clearly loved what he was doing. Overall I will definitely come back.

Its clean, seemingly well-organized (I dont go through everything), and has plenty of back issues for collectors looking to complete their collection. The staff is helpful and knowledgable. Parking is fair for the store size but please remember that Ogden is a very busy street!

I Went In With A Friend To Buy Some Playing Cards Which Werent Hard To Find. That Was Probably The Best Part Of My Experience At The Store. Heres Where It Got Bad. I Then Waited 20 Minutes In Line To Pay For My Two Dollar Total Worth Of Cards. The Reason For This Was Because The Cashier And A Customer Couldnt Stop Talking About Which Burrito Was The Best One Around The Area. I Then Decided To Take A Look Around Because Their Conversation Was No Where Near Finished. So I Went To Look At The Comics. Then Out Of Nowhere I Hear Put That Down Now! I Thought I Was Getting Screamed At, But That Same Cashier Was Screaming At Two Kids Who Looked No Older Than Ten. He Told Them They Shouldnt Be Looking At The Comics Because They Werent Old Enough. He Then Used Some Vulgar Language Toward Them That Id Rather Not Repeat. The Dad Of The Kids Noticed What Happened And Told The Cashier In A Very Respectful Tone Of Voice He Was In The Wrong For How He Had Talked To His Children And Left Very Upset. All The Cashier Had To Say To The Dad Was, Yeah... Whatever Man. After The Dad Had Left The Store. Which I Thought Was A Coward Thing To Do. So After Another Ten Minutes Of Waiting, I FINALLY Got Rung Up And Left. If There Is Any Other Comic/Card Shop Around You, Go There Instead. The Customer Service Here Is Below Par.

I like this comic shop. Its spacious aslie large gaming area. The attendance at the registers are knowledgeable of current comics and marvel dc movies. Plus the walls are full of collectables. Impressive.

Best place to go for sealed products by far, MTG yugioh Pokémon and more. I never had a problem with wishing they had stock. They also have plenty of singles. Going there for sleeves boxes mats and other goodies is great huge selection. They run prerelease events very well and organized. Definitely a great locals to be at.

I have only been inside here once so far but my overall impression is that this place is great. Good selection on comics, cards, board games as well as seperate areas for playing video games and card games. They also have weekly tournaments for smash brothers and magic the gathering and more. Personally I am just happy to see a place like this in Berwyn finally.

Its been awhile since Ive been to a comic shop and Avid collectors would know that if I say the last time was when Vampirella and Lady Death were still popular and gen 13 had 13 variant covers would know that its been a while. Now coming here with my son has rekindled my Affinity for a collecting. The staff was extremely knowledgeable I mean next level knowledgeable. Not only was I brought current in many of my previous genres but was introduced to several new ones. Left purchasing several comics and even pre-ordering a few. It was extremely well organized the owner knew where everything was and had very knowledgeable backstory on everything that I was inquiring about. Definitely definitely definitely coming back again. I just found my new home. Hopefully my wife doesnt find out LOL. Thanks again Top Cut comics.

One of the nicest game shops Ive been in, and I travel around the country for Pokemon TCG. Very big and clean space. Very well-run tournaments. They sell singles here.
