This place is absolutely amazing. The customer service is top notch. Everyone is super knowledgeable. I have done a few different DIY projects and they have always been extremely helpful at bringing my vision to life. I come here for all my home improvement needs.

You haven’t had good customer service if you have not been to Durst Ace Hardware. Specifically this location. I go into this store all the time and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is also wanting to help you. I have never been in this store without someone actually asking me if I need help finding something. Not only do they help, they know what they are talking about and don’t just guess to get you to go away. They help you until you’re 100% satisfied. Everyone is so friendly, inviting, and makes my day. Nowadays everywhere you go, you cannot find someone to help, or someone that wants to help as well as bad customer service where they act like you’re ruining their day by coming into their store. This place is highly recommended and well worth while. They are fairly Inexpensive compared to most other places and they have literally everything you may need along with a rewards app that gets you 5-10$ off coupons which is very convenient. The only downside I would say is that their hours are a little shorter than most Ace locations that close around 6. This location closes at 4 which I wish wouldn’t close until 6 but they are still awesome! Go check them out!

This is a family owned hardware store. It is always neat and orderly with a surprising amount of stuff in the space. What they are known for is their exceptional service. My visit yesterday was no exception. Tod insisted on going to my car to help retrieve two electric handsaws for which I needed new blades. He patiently demonstrated how to change the blades after helping me choose the blades. He then carried the saws back to my car. A perfect gentleman who made me feel like a princess for 1/2 an hour.

Help is usually available. Very helpful staff. Great positive attitude towards customers. They dont mind meeting customers requirements. Only one problem to report that the lumber cutter was 100% inaccurate cutting to dimensions required. I always had to recut. I dont think he knows the measurement scales very well.

They e been in business forever for a reason. They have good selection and its nice not dealing with a chain lumber yard. The staff is knowledgeable and they have free popcorn. Cant go wrong.

This has to be the best hardware store for finding those hard to find parts. 99% of time I get great customer service. If they dont have it they can recommend where to get it. Their lumber is on the high-end - but it is higher quality lumber. I also like the unlimited number of cuts they offer. My favorite hardware store hands down.

I brought my mower blade up there to have it sharpened and I was informed it would be sent out to someone contracted with this location. I was told it would be ready in a week. I returned one week later and the employees tell me it was never returned by the contractor. When I follow up with the employees they tell me they have not been able to contact the contractor. I just want my mower blade since it’s been 2 weeks and my grass is quite long. I Won’t return to support this local establishment.

Their contractor desk crew is very knowledgeable and accurate. And the yard guys are great with their customer assistance.

It has a lumber yard and pretty much everything you need for hardware, but still with a personal touch and friendly helpful sales people

I have Shop at this store for about fifteen years, the service is great with a person helping to fill your order.

Asked if I could try bungie cord length on car steps from the door, was refused. Had to buy both and MINUTES later return the one that wouldnt work.Plus items were overpriced, if i wasnt in dire need would have gone elsewhere.

I had a mold issue, and I had an ants problem. Their excellent recommendations solved both problems instantly and for once the mold and the ants have stopped. Go to their back desk and tell them your problem. They always solve it at a ridiculously reasonable low cost.

This was my first visit and i was impressed! i needed trim moulding for a diy baseboard project. someone helped me choose my design from the sample wall, converted my measurements, and directed me to the lumber yard across the parking lot. the young men there were friendly and offered to put the 10ft pieces in my car. entire experience took about 10 minutes. i plan to return for more shopping in the hardware area when i have more time😁

Really wise the customer service was way better than it is. I was waiting in line 15 mins untill the female running the register stopped talking about her personal life divorced and on and on while we all stood there waiting for her to focus on her job Because we can just take business elsewhere.There is another ace down 9 mile that I can go to where the staff is always walking around to ask if we need help with anything.

Horrible place, rude owners, can’t return product with valid receipt bought two days ago at a different ace hardware. Also asked for the store manager and was told to walk to the back of the store and she wouldn’t page her to the registers like I asked. This is why people shop at Home Depot and Lowe’s. Don’t ever go here. All I wanted was to return what I bought and paid my money for at a different location closer to my house.

Cronies for the state.. its unfortunate. Its unlawful for them to require mask wearing. They refused me service asked me to leave. But like they other review I was ganged up on by 3 employees and the owner. I spent my money elsewhere.Is very unfortunate.Left peacefull without much argument.I encourage all people to start thinking for themselves and questioning the direction the mask mandate, and its long term effects on our freedoms .I feel really bad for these businesses because their between a rock and a hard placeStruggling to survive.

I was there this morning picking up an ordered door they couldnt find the receipt for. I waited for about 30 minutes while they tried to find the order. NICK was doing a great job trying to figure it, but the other five people behind the desk that were doing nothing were completely unhelpful, disinterested and borderline disrespectful. Being a business owner myself I found this pretty disappointing. Step it up Durst hardware Im taking my business elsewhere.Update- yes they do have some great people there and they did take care of my dog. im upping my review to three stars because of this. I was just surprised they couldnt find my door when we order under our company name. There is a middle ground here. I get that and im good with that. Could have been better. Could have been worse...

Its a nice little point hardware they have everything or anything you might possibly think of most likely they have it there nice and clean Shields up at the cash register markers on the floor for people standing six feet apart and they was very helpful

This place is a little bit more expensive than home depot, but it is worth it for the customer service.Everybody knows where every single thing is in the store, and they can even point you in the direction of things that are on sale. ($5 discounted pneumatic checks as opposed to the normal $14.99.

Knowledgeable staff, locally owned, good selection for the size...but not safe for shopping during CoVid.The aisles are way too narrow and they havent cleared any areas to allow more space for traffic flow or enforce a quota on how many people can be in the store at once, despite it being state law. They have big signs on the door that same no mask no entry which is great, but the staff do not enforce when people dont wear the masks anymore, despite the fact that they were these great shirts thats say stay 6 ft away and almost all the staff wear masks every time.Today, one of the clerks on the back desk was not wearing a mask. I kept my distance and asked if I could borrow a measuring tape. He then went to hand it to me and I politely asked if he could set it down so I didnt have to approach too close. He then threw a mini fit and slammed the measuring tape down and mocked me.I get that its uncomfortable to wear a mask all day, and I hope they get paid extra to work in these tough conditions. Unfortunately, the virus is not gone and it is still spreading rapidly and 130,000 Americans are dead at the time of writing this review. The CDC estimates that over 20 million Americans have been infected, even though there have only been 2 million positive tests. Any store that is not committed to following CDC guidelines on masks and distance is not safe.

Ive been shopping at Durst for 30 years, great to buy local with excellent and friendly (and fun) help inside and out. Amazing dry lumber thats carefully selected by the yard-team and they load it for you in their easy pull-through yard.

This is my local hardware. They offer good advice and usually have those odd sized pipes, bolts, nuts, screens in stock. They are a complete lumber yard with wood and siding and fertilizer and dirt in stock. Actually enjoy my visits there lots to choose from.

All the folks that work here at our neighborhood Durst lumber and Ace hardware are like an extended family to me theyve helped me and my family and friends shop for the right goods for years. they always know exactly where to point you in the store for what youre trying to do and ask all the proper questions of what Im trying to do to point me in the right direction. They also know where to aim you if they dont have what youre looking for.

Very much a bad experience they have their employees attack you as you enter the door very not friendly very very unprofessional and they obviously would rather you shop at home Depot. Mind you as I was putting the mask on after they asked they continued to be very rude and unprofessional which is why they were told to f off. They obviously dont care if they have customers or not. Had they been polite about it rather than rude and unprofessional things would have been different.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE after years of shopping at Dursts... I will never return and I have cancelled all orders and shopping. I am a general contractor and I manage many tradesman for my business. I told all of my employees that Durst Lumber is off limits. I order a large number of window pane glass at 8:35 AM on Monday and I told the clerk I would pick it up Tuesday morning when the store open at 8:00AM, he expressed that it would be ready if not later on that day. A whole day went by, and on Tuesday morning when I came in to pick it up. I was stalled while they looked, and I ask if it was a problem and the lady responded yes they were under staffed and did not complete the order. I ask why didnt they call me to to inform me, no answer, I ask when would it be completed, she said she did not know and offered no resolution nor did she act concern or sorry for incident but was very rude and very ill mannered, when I ask for the manager, she responded that she was the owner....I was really offended now, and Im a customer whos trying to provide a service to my customer needing to know so I can inform my customer and youre treating me like this in front your employees WOW, Im not sure if was a black thing because I am a Blackman... As bad as I needed the material, I just wanted a refund, now she saying it would not take long to complete but continuing to be rude, when youve could have said that in the beginning ..... It made me say some things I would not normally say to anyone and especially a lady, but she deserved it. I just did not want the relationship as vendor any longer just a refund and the door out of her store. I know I want hurt her bottom line, but I will never contribute to it. I am really divided on this because her store had milestones in our family business for years, and it was destroyed by a ill mannered owner when all I wanted was service and resolution to a problem! Good Bye Durst forever!

One of the FEW old fashioned hardware stores. They even have freshly made popcorn for you, or the kids! TRY NOT to get any! You can always find someone to answer your questions, or help you out with a project. Lots of cool finds also!

Picked up two rolls of insulation and six sheets of drywall. Insulation was wet and beginning to turn black. Drywall looked like it was hit by a forklift.

The staff is very helpful and they always have exactly what I need.

Website says curbside pickup, but I just called and the woman who answered the phone said they dont. Usually they are helpful, but one time I was looking for the mounting hardware for a handrail. It was obvious I was looking for something, but the four guys at the back counter were arguing about the Red Wings instead of asking if I needed help. When I asked them, one of them just pointed and said, Theyre over there.

Great local hardware store. Family-run for a lot of years. It is an Ace but doesnt feel like a chain. Its a local store with Ace inventory. Lumber is high quality. Much better then Home Depot or Lowes or Menards. Pay a few cents more per foot and also take advantage of the cheap delivery.

Excellent customer service in rear of store to order lumber. Poor customer service in lumber yard. The guy in the lumber yard didnt display an ounce of courtesy or customer service this morning. He was very unfriendly with Yup and Nope responses. He told me and my contractor that no product was available in 1 3/4 inch width. When we went instead it was a different story. The store is great but get rid of that guy and Ill increase my rating.

If you want straight and clean lumber, this is your place. Can you find slightly less expensive wood at a box store? Yes, but you are truly getting an inferior product there. I regularly go out of my way to get my wood from Durst because it is quality, reliable, and I dont have to sift through piles to find good boards.

Very good customer service. The guys will always do the best they can to help you figure out your issue. No matter how weird of a cut i have needed in wood they have figured out some way to make it happen for me. This was very helpful when i actually needed hollow circles once to use in making architectural trellises for a 1920s home i was restoring. You can also find some of the unusual odd things that you used to get at the old mom and pop country hardware stores. I definitely will continue to come here on a regular basis for supplies

Durst is a great family owned hardware even before it was an ace. I can say they have everything you want. People there are friendly and know what there talking about. They gave even taken me directly to the item I wanted. They have a well stock lumber yard, soils, mulch. Give them a try and you wont be disappointed.

I was not impressed with this Ace at all! I was not approached by anyone and asked if I needed any assistance. If I want to be ignored, I can patronize the bigger stores and pay a hell of a lot less money! Prices were ridiculous as well for the items I purchased, I definitely wont be back!

Highly recommend...but make sure to double check the quality of the hardwoods. If you arent paying attention you can end up with the occasional warped board or something knotty. They are happy to oblige, but just keep an eye out!

Prior to going to Durst, I googled the item I wanted, than I called to make sure the item was in stock. I was informed that it was. When I arrived, I asked where to find the item, the cashier (was a young man,about 14 years old) checked on the computer and said we do not have that item, I then conveyed to him that I had called and was informed that it was in stock. He then said, it’s in isle 19... needless to say it was not. I was sent to the back of store and immediately the person at the lumber table went to isle 47 and got the item I wanted. I proceeded to check out with my item. Since I checked out with the young cashier who had informed me initially that the item was not there, I stated that if you do not know something to find or ask someone else. I was than approached by another employee that said he was new. Understand this, if he was new he needed to have some form of training. As I stated to him just ask, I was than approached by another employee and she said that I wanted to fight and be confrontational. I then ask for the manager and was sent to the back of the store to speak to Ron. He was kind and I stated to him what had happened.Time and being efficient is of great importance and customer service is a priority, Especially since shopping has so many different ventures in which to purchase anything. I believe in supporting small business. But if the customer is accused of trying to fight when going into a place it will eliminate the small corner type stores.I also believe this is a family owned business and the young boy was either a grandson or great grandson.I believe that to perpetuate the integrity and great customer service that Durst has always given, that all employees and family members should be maintain the same spirit that Mr. Durst started the business with originally.
