DC Piano Company just completed a major restoration job for me on a 1920s era baby grand. This included moving, strings, strikes, board, (basically a complete gut and restore), as well as strip and re-finish. As this was clearly not going to be cheap, I was very nervous who do go with on the project. So very happy to have chosen D.C. Piano. Matt Crudo took personal responsibility for this job and kept me posted (with pictures) on progress. They are craftsmen, and the work they did was impeccable. The completed restoration was beautiful and after the final move and tuning, sounds better than it ever has. I would happily recommend this company for any work needed on your piano.
My family and I love DC Piano company! We bought our piano here, my ukulele, and more recently, my first guitar! The service is wonderful as everyone is so kind and helpful. They also always have workbooks, sheet-music, cases and sleeves, tuners, etc... everything one could need for their new instrument. They were also able to give us great recommendations for guitar/piano/ukulele teachers! I highly suggest checking out the DC Piano Company!
Would give it 9 stars if I could . Wonderful staff . no pressure. Pleasant experience
One of Berkeleys hidden treasures--a nondescript storefront in south Berkeley with about an acre of pianos behind it. Friendly knowledgeable help. And if youre not in the market for a piano, you can pick up some guitar strings, its all good.
A hidden gem. They have a huge selection of pianos, both older and new. Very helpful and friendly service.
I went there looking for a digital piano on the middle-price range. I found the staff helpful and they allow you to play and feel what fits best your needs without pressuring you. They seemed to have their stronger selection on regular acoustic upright pianos and Id certainly recommend visiting this shop if youre interested in buying or renting one.
Dennis sold me a used piano with excellent tone and honestly appraised the work it needed. His movers delivered the piano the next business day, up 16 steps with two turns to get into the house and the piano was in position within 30 minutes, no damage to it or the house. Excellent service.
Great piano store with pianos at all price ranges, without the uncomfortable high-pressure sales tactics employed by most other piano shops in the Bay. Employees are attentive and knowledgeable, but will also let you just wander the shop and play until you find what you are looking for. Have bought 2 pianos there (one for myself and one for a music venue), and delivery, servicing, and one free tuning is included.
Good selection. Something for everyone.
Super nice experience. Good people. Great price to value balance.
Many nice second hand pianos at this location! Friendly staff Sam offered me professional advice, patiently helped me worked on the prices and choices of the pianos. Free delivery, free in home tuning as well, highly recommend!
Nice piano selection and very friendly staff and atmosphere.
Good local resource
Cool place to stop by and pick up a piano! Music books and guitar strings too!
I bought my circa 1980s piano there about 7 years ago and i love it. Not only have they helped me mive it three times, but when someone broke a key, they gave me a free replacement. Matteo is very knowledgable and I highly recommend this place for a wonderful, used piano.
Great selection, wonderful and insightful/friendly staff and owner, no pressure and reasonably priced. Free home delivery was awesome!
Played piano for years & years when I was a child, moved away from it like a moron, but wanted to get a new piano again and take playing more seriously again.I did a lot of research and found that the Kawai ce220 would be a great piano that wasnt too expensive and not too cheap, but as with any musician shopping around I started playing all the different pianos that were there, and fell in love with a Kawai CS10. Was twice my budget, but it was a total match.Staff was really helpful and let me browse around not bugging me for about 45 minutes. I went to another store to try out some Yamahas & found I liked the Kawai more. I went back and played on it again for 20 minutes before I made up my mind. They even gave me a significant discount on the piano I got because of a few very small nicks and it was a floor model. The movers were fast & relatively on time.Fantastic experience here, tons of different pianos from digital grands to traditional grands to any uprights, used, new, and more. Dont think they are a Yamaha retailer so they didnt carry the clavinova I was considering, but I found I liked Kawai more.If youre looking to buy a piano, consider this place. It really is great.
Very helpful staff that guided me to a less expensive piano than I came in wanting but which matched my needs and skill level better.
Huge selection of pianos in the store. According to the friendly staff, they deliver to anywhere in the Bay Area and initially tune the piano on-site for free.
Love this place
