For whatever reason, this tiny store has the BEST California roll in the state of California which is to say the world. And its so reasonably priced

I am still on a quest to find the best sushi in the East Bay, this is a little small store that sells ready made packs of fish and seafood rolls as well as nigiri and sashimi. There are also hot bento meals to purchase. I enjoyed my vegetarian rolls although the inure is little too sweet. The prices are good for the quality.

The edamame was great, the sushi was just ok. They have a pretty good selection, and everything is very reasonably priced. I think this is a good spot for a quick lunch, but I probably wouldnt go out of my way to come back.

I like this place. It is very simple - you go in, choose the sushi box you want, pay, and leave. No fuss, and good Sushi. A great grab to go place.

This is a place to find a quick grab lunch or dinner. Price is reasonable and great choices. Definitely not a place to dine in or expect red carpet royal services. Just excellence for grab and go..

Decent sushi at great prices. My family loves it, especially the rolls and the salmon teriyaki bowls. Its also great for large sushi platters when you are entertaining. Kyoto sushi, especially when you dont feel like cooking, is one of the things that makes North Berkeley such a great place to live.

Best value fresh sushi and nigiri in Berkeley! Kind and friendly owner. Its a takeout only place but you can feed 4-5 people with excellent sushi for under $100.

I like their fresh selection as well as good price point and value!However, go towards opening/lunch time because they wont refill stock throughout the day very much so their selection tends to thin out as the day goes on.

The owner is the nicest person who I ever met. She has opened this store for 16 years. She has the most reasonable price in this country. 5 dollars for a bowel of delicious homemade fish fired rice, can you believe it? Over 16 years, she never raise the price of her lovely products!!!!!😃😃😊😊😌Compare to the sushi restaurants and Japan restaurants in this town, this store has the cheapest price and the most delicious taste!!!!👏👏👏👏It probably only costs you 10 dollars to have a declious lunch or dinner. It is definitely the best store. By the way, she also sells candies from China and Japan. Those candies are wonderful!!! She also has a kind heart. Because when I asked her why dont you raise the price of the products, she said she just want to sever a delicious and convenient sushis and snacks to the neighbourhood. No doubts, it is the best place for you to get some sushi and foreign snacks.

This is a take out only sushi stop. Their selection is usually pretty good unless you arrive late in the day. The quality is mediocre, but its quick, inexpensive, convienent and certainly better than most fast food stops. And Ive never gotten sick from eating the fish.

Go-to takeaway sushi place! Sooo cheap and such good options, especially for a vegetarian (wakame salad, edamame, avocado rolls, cucumber rolls, mixed veggie rolls, inari....). Runs out of stuff later in the day but you can usually just ask and theyll whip up something quickly for you. Also a good place to find Asian snacks, sauces, etc.

The little shop reminded me of the family bento shops from my time in Japan so I tried one of their sashimi nigiri boxes. Really great take-out sushi, with generously thick cuts of fish on the rice and very fresh. Kinda drooling again thinking about it now. Its served with ginger and a touch of wasabi on the side.

Amazing sushis to take away from a truly Japanese place

I love Kyoto Sushi.It is my go-to sushi place. It is a tiny family-owned hole in the wall that has been on Solano for decades. They make fresh sushi and rice bowls throughout the day and have a small selection of Japanese candy.You do not eat here as there is no space for it, but I imagine this is what helps keep the prices down. The small space must help save them on rent.Cost to quality ratio is great. It isnt as good quality as a fancy sit down sushi restaurant but it is fairly close, and about the same price you would pay for safeway sushi -Only about $5-9 a roll! I usually get a hamachi roll, 2 California rolls, 2 avocado rolls, and a Nigiri sampler (8 slices), and it comes to $24-27!!!!
