I love this place. It’s in a really peaceful location and it’s equally tranquil inside. Great coffee and selection of sandwiches. I came for the first time a couple weeks ago and came back 3 times in the same week! Vaccination is required for dine-in, so be sure to have your card or a picture of it. I LOVE the back patio for hanging out with friends, relaxing and (analog) writing, with the important note that no laptops are allowed in that area.Overall wonderful! Try to park on a nearby side street for free 2-hour parking.
I’ve had a lot of chocolate croissants and let me tell you this just might have been the best one yet. My Americano was good too.
Pretty good Americano, but the breakfast sandwich was almost tasteless, with some weird raw greens which may have been spinach on a basic hamburger bun they upsold as brioche. At noon, their stock of pastries had sold out. Looked like a nice garden in the back, but we sat indoors, also a pleasant space.
Such adorable location which is substantiated by their great coffee. And I mean that because they bring accessibility to the coffee experience for those who cannot do caffeine but enjoy so much the flavor! They have wonderful organically decaffeinated coffee using the Swiss water process. When I bought a bag, they kindly offered a free coffee of my choice. They made me feel like I’ve been going there for the longest time! Genuinely looking forward to going back soon even though I live in the Southbay. If you live in the community, bring a book or homework and spend a little time in the warm ambiance.
Great americano and the chocolate zucchini bread was fantastic!
The BEST coffee. And they have oat milk!! Great coffee shop
Good coffee, lovely patio
Ordered coffee online from these two. it is 01/26/2021. They roasted the coffee on 01/13/2020(Im assuming they mean 2021). I do not think ive ever had a coffee roaster send out a shipment of coffee two weeks after the roast date. I feel a little short-changed. Will probably not be buying again and definitely cant recommend other buying from here either with these practices. I understand smaller coffee shops cant compete with larger shops in terms of roast date but I would prefer they just take their time and ship out fresh roasted coffee on certain dates to ensure optimal freshness.
Amazing coffee, roasted locally and always fresh and delicious! Great atmosphere.
Perfect cappuccino. Nice barista. One star less because they only had old-fashioned donuts and was hoping for pastries. Will return.
Cool staff with a basic but stellar selection of well-priced drinks. Theyre in the midst of building out a patio for some outdoor seating in the back! Good wifi and atmosphere for doing work and friendship, too.
Nice space. nice barista. she suggested a flat white. good suggestion bc it was balanced.
Solano Blend for the win! Awesome coffee and staff! Highly recommend!
I don’t normally write reviews for businesses, but I came here for the first time yesterday and had a bad experience with the service. There were two people working, male and female. The female worker took my order, I gave her a tip and then she proceeded to do anything but make my order for 15+ minutes. No one else was in line, I was the only one waiting - she walked around the shop and chatted with customers, went to the bathroom, washed a couple dishes and still decided to not work on my order. The male worker prompted her to get my bagel done and she said she would “get to it.” It was odd. The male worker then jumped in and got my order for me, he was great, but this female worker could definitely use some feedback around being professional.
Great cafe but I dont understand the Tech Free weekend brunch. I guess its for people to be more sociable but I saw alot of people sitting by themselves reading books so it seems kind of arbitrary. I guess banning books has a negative historical context so they went the Luddite route? I like to go to a cafe and write or edit my writing but it looks like customers with laptop are not welcome before 1pm here. Be advised.
I love the atmosphere here. I do wish they had a wider and better selection of pastries (I usually don’t even get a pastry, just a drink) but I keep coming back because it’s so cosy and the light makes me happy.
This place is convenient for me -- less than a ten minute walk from home. Their coffee is good, and they now have breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Its also a comfortable place to hang out.
Nice little coffee shop. Not a great spot to work, but a good place to grab a quick coffee with someone on a lunch break or abbreviated appointment slot.
The coffee is excellent, the staff pleasant and professional, the interior clean and pleasant. Its also a great neighborhood. My problem is with people that think cafes are their private office and all the rest of us sit around in a sea of computers. Going to a cafe is supposed to be a break for me from work. Its a place to meet a friend and share a conversation. All of these coffee shops make you feel like you are in the atmosphere of an airport but unable to talk like you are in church. Cut the wifi off. NO MORE COMPUTERS in cafes. Make people pay for their own electricity instead of tacking the price onto our coffee.
A welcoming little community coffee shop that feels part of the neighborhood. Lovely staff and excellent cappucino and pastry.
Definitely a neighborhood gem.. Wonderful croissants and othe pastries. Friendly staff (like whats up w coffee shops where it seems like youre bothering the staff?!) Not here.. Havent tried sandwiches but they sound yummy.
Great coffee and amazing pastrami sandwich (just the right amount of spice). Cozy place to work at. Oh, and they have WiFi now. For the rest Alberts review has a lot of d tailed info
This is such a pleasant Cafe with Third Wave level drinks and neighborhood friendly vibe. Seems a good place to take the laptop, but I believe has digital downtimes on the weekend too.
My evaluation of a coffee placeis based solely on their cappuccino. In this case, the cappuccino is quite good, virtually in the same class, almost, as Blue Bottle. its just slightly more bland, doesnt quite have the character and richness of a blue bottle They also charge the same as Blue Bottle. The only complaint about the place is perhaps they are a little understaffed. Whenever Ive been there there is only one person doing everything, but granted its not exactly in a bustling location
Hidden gem! Great location to work/study. Roast their own coffee beans. Better than blue bottle.Grab a sandwich next door from starmeats or go to fournee for a croissant.
Casual and fast service from friendly staff. opened early. neighborhood vibe.
Sweet small spot for coffee and tea. Good hair latte ( not too sweet, could be a bit spicier).
Love the cortado / gibralter with light roast beans. It somehow has a subtle blueberry taste and its so smooth. Some of the best coffee in the Oakland / Berkeley area IMHO.
Friendly staff, great ambiance, and excellent coffee!
Our newest addition to the cafe choices in the Claremont...my favorite. More chill than Peets more comfortable with a backyard patio area coming this Summer. Looking forward to that. Wifi friendly.
Extremely good coffee and such a nice atmosphere from the seating to the staff.
Great coffee!
My favorite coffee shop to get great cup of coffee, snack and get some emails out.
Its bright, with great coffee and staff. Easy to get to location with parking.
This place is great. Great space, friendly staff, good coffee and tea.
Cozythird-wave coffee spot with their own beams and friendly baristas
A truly delicious cup. Calm neighborhood oasis.
Amazing Americanos....good atmosphere and friendly staff
Great coffee, relaxed space, super friendly staff.
Like the atmosphere, coffee, folks behind the counter. Will come regularly when in the area.
Friendly cozy and good coffee!
Good coffee, and super cozy
Friendly staff and nice seats
Its new and the cold brew is by far head and shoulders above most its competition
Great latte
