My favorite pizza place in the entire Bay Area or maybe in the entire world. How is that possible… just one type of pizza everyday… that too vegetarian only. That is impossible to explain mile long lines, and all those people buying boxes after boxes of pizzas. I guess you just have to experience it. I have been a customer since last 8 years or so. And even though I don’t live in Berkeley… I find myself traveling 40 miles to get their pizza and that beloved green sauce. Maybe the green sauce is the magic. Or the extra small slice when you order a whole pie. The love and care not just shows in the pizza crust… the choice of cheese or topping combinations but the way they treat their customers and also their employees. The quality of everything is phenomenal. Keep it up folks… open a sister location in Pleasanton if you can :)

Good, but not great pizza like Naples style. But the crust was good in its own way and the ingredients tasted fresh. The salad tasted straight out of the garden. The ginger cookies were amazing. Big portions, good quality, long line but it moves fast because theres only one choice of pizza, either whole (large) $22 or half $11. Good deal, nice, efficient service.

Holy Buck this place it lit. Ive been here so many times and its crazy good. After baking the pizza they put it on a huge flatiron and the bottom gets so crispy and the cheesey is ooey gooey and the toppings r always so well done. I would recommend always - check their online website before coming tho, hours r obscure and they have limited offerings due to covid at the moment.

To the nearby (especially non-home-cooking) student communities nearby this is a haven and a great pizza one at that. Also for vegetarian choice from a purely veggie place.Buy and finish it in same session of day (preferably within the hour). But if you are wanting to carry out for longer periods (or far distances in hopes of retaining the quality after reheating), this is a huge disappointment: becomes leather technology quickly.Other than that its taste is out of the world - no comparison. The green sauce, adds additional otherworldly pep to it - when used in moderation

Otherwise, I promise you the wait is worth it.Their pizza is so well made! the bread has a crunchy chewyness that is oh-so satisfying. The flavor is out of this world, and its affordable. Visited on a Saturday around noon and waited in line for about about 10/15minsI really appreciate how it’s no longer self serve because of covid. You order and pay at the cashier and all the items are packed to go. As you are waiting in line there are photos of the items on the window. They will cross out one’s that get sold out. When we got the pizza it looked so good we ordered a second one on the spot. Luckily one of their staff was able to ring our order without us having to wait in line again. That was very nice of them :)Their pizza is half baked so it’s not ready to eat. Which is fine since we prefer to eat at the comfort of home.Their website suggests to preheat oven at 400F and then heat for 5-8mins depending on your oven.We heated on a cast iron plate for 6mins and it came out delicious. Not sure how they are able to keep the crust so thin and well structured.Must visit and order if you ever in the neighborhood.

My friend was telling me about this place fromLong time ago and we got to go there yesterday and the place was nice! I would say you should not miss on this type of specialty pizza secretly located in towns and not available to all like dominozz or papa johns...Even during the pandemic, there was this huge line across the block which showed me how much people are interested in their pizza and when i got my Friday Pizza, (yeah it looks like you get certain type of pizza based on what day it is.), wow it was perfectly thin, a little lemon tang, which i never had it with pizza before... their green sauce felt like some indian chutney which complimented the taste of pizza! We did felt it was worth riding 1hour just for that pizza 🍕 😋

Best pizza on earth. Line is super long most of the time but it moves fast. On weekend evening, expect to wait in line for about 20-30 minutes to get carry out pizza. Review №47

Amazing pizza. I was surprised by how good it was. Ive had pizza all over the country and as a New Yorker it was pretty refreshing to have pizza that was different from what I believe to be true and good pizza. For me, thats a plain thin crust pizza, no toppings so you can enjoy the main ingredients - tomato sauce, cheese, and the dough. At the Cheeseboard, were talking about pizza with no tomato sauce topped with potatoes, red onions, garlic and cheese, grilled on top of a flat top as soon as it comes out of the oven! Then you top that with the pappi chulo sauce, which is a cilantro cream/oil sauce. The combination of ingredients and method of cooking the pizza is definitely a departure from what I know to be my thought on good pizza, but it works and it tastes great. Highly recommended. Note: there is only one type of pizza served daily and its not served everyday. The pizzas change as the fresh northern Californian produce available to the Cheeseboard changes.

Visited the place as a result of all the hype. The Cheeseboard Pizza is a part of the The Cheeseboard Bakery which is the actual place to take a look at, here. The pizzeria offers one pizza and one salad a day, changed daily. It is located in a busy part of San Francisco so dont expect to find parking easily. We reached 30min ahead of the 4:30pm opening time and were still about 10th in line. Ordering is easy but there are a very limited number of seats, take out is recommended. The day we went, we got a potato and feta based pizza which was well made, tasted great, was fresh with a thin crust and golden baked edges. It was a tad on the greasy side, but ate well. 5 for taste and experience with the hype, -1 for the sheer difficulty in being able to sit down with a slice of pizza.

The out door seating is amazing and they also have indoor seating. They had a band playing beautiful bluesy jazz and it really just sets the vibe. The line is long but honestly not that long. Also the line never gets short! I like that. It means what they are serving is the best! If you go with friends head into the next door affiliated market with an extensive cheese list, coffee, dips, and bread! I mean you can’t help but not get something from the store. Cheeseboard is a Berkeley staple. Expect a line out the door pretty much anytime it’s open. The lines move fast however as they only serve one type of pizza a day, limiting options to sizes (single slices for $2.75+tax, half a pizza for $11+ tax or a whole pie for $22+ tax). Heads up to the meat eaters they are strictly vegetarian. The pizza is good quality and the prices are reasonable. I’ve been a few times over the years and while it’s good pizza and a good price, i’ve never been “wowed” by the taste.Good, respectable pizza but i’ve always thought it was a bit over-ratted.Some days they’ll have live music in the joint which provides a really nice atmosphere.
