My friend and I purchased a hotspot for work while we traveled a bit but unfortunately it did not work well. We stopped by this Verizon store to troubleshoot and the staff at this location were incredibly professional and delivered amazing customer service.The store seemed busier than usual and it was impressive how Ryan M. and his colleague seamlessly juggled multiple customers at the same time.Ryan in particular was able to address our issue and my friend and I left very happy.

I visited the store yesterday to upgrade my phone. The store was unusually busy but Ryan and the other gentleman were very helpful and gave the best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. It took me a couple hours to transfer my data into my new phone, so I got to witness Ryan help at least 20 customers within that timeframe and he was patient, friendly, and accommodating with every single customer. They were clearly swamped but they never turned away a customer.

WARNING: THIS STORE PREYS ON UNSUSPECTING SENIORS, and also DELETES REVIEWS IT DOES NOT LIKE. WILL KEEP POSTING EVERY DAY IF I NEED TO.My almost 80yo dad was in process of switching from T-mobile to Verizon due to poor signal. He bought the phone at Verizon Emeryville on Oct 2, along with $35 prepay plan, and due to the switch from T-mobile, his activation fees and SIM card charge were waived.On Oct 6, he went to T-Mobile to get his old account # and PIN so that he could port his old phone # to his new Verizon phone. T-Mobile store is only available in Berkeley, so he went, got his info, and went to Victra (the Verizon authorized dealer in Berkeley) down the street, presented his *Verizon Nokia phone with Verizon SIM card in it* (purchased on Oct 2), had his old phone # ported over, and was charged $76 for *a second $40 prepay plan plus activation fee and SIM card fee.*When I tried to get a refund for what was clearly not good business practice, I was told that per Verizon company policy, there are no refunds no matter what. Period. I asked for the store manager to call, but he has not. I have contacted Verizon customer service and while they are escalating the issue to try to get us a partial refund, they probably will only be able to refund us the $35 from the original plan since his phone # has been ported to the new, second prepay plan.I dont know what Verizon customer service will be able to do, but I wanted to call out the cowardly manager at Victra Verizon who does not appear to want to deal with this issue. Also, just a warning to other potential customers that this store preys upon the elderly by selling them double plans and refusing to issue refunds even with they are caught and admit to being in the wrong.I will be sending copies of the paperwork to the Berkeley BBB and Chamber of Commerce and every local news organization I can find an address for, because its not about the $76; its about preying upon seniors who are vulnerable to businesses like this. They know that what they are doing is wrong, and yet they continue because they know they can get away with it. They hide behind their its company policy to never issue a refund and refuse to call people back. Absolutely disgusting, and a shame that they should be allowed to remain in business.

I just want to thank Daniel for assisting me in getting a new phone. Not only were we sent over from a different store who refused to help but he was patient enough to help us get set up even though it took almost an hour after the store closed. Daniel is a great example of what kind of customer service any guest would hope for!

Would not recommend this place. They tried to sell me on misleading bundle deals, sold me a screen protector that interferes with the functioning of the phone, and the service was incredibly slow. If you do go here, be cautious of any bundle deals that they try to sell you, unless you really need everything in the bundle, and take any of their product recommendations with a grain of salt. Just because they sell the accessories (specifically screen protectors) doesnt mean that they are a good or recommended product.The worst part was that they sold me a $40 screen protector that makes the fingerprint reader inoperable, and they will not let me return it. This issue is well-known with Samsung phones with in-screen fingerprint readers, but this store chooses to sell a brand of screen protectors that make a flagship phone malfunction. I would take all of this stores product recommendations with a grain of salt if you go there, but in general Id avoid this store.Additionally, the service is not great. It took an hour and a half for them to sell me a phone (I knew exactly what I needed when I walked in the door). There was a long wait and then the process was super slow. There is also a weird thing where they keep the doors locked during store hours, so you have to knock and then wait for one of the other customers to let you in, or wait for an employee to interrupt helping another customer to walk over to the door and let you in.

Solved my need for a new phone and number very fast, and even helped me with some general questions I had as a foreign to get settled down in Berkeley. I saw JT going above and beyond to help a customer who was stressed with her Parking situation, non related with her purchase. Amazing customer service and human quality.

The best in-store mobile assistance we have ever experienced. Weve been Verizon customers for years and cant begin to tell you how relieved we were to actually have a Verizon store experience where staff actually knew what they were doing while being kind, efficient and very helpful.Trevor, a gentleman and an excellent teacher for both my very techno savvy daughter and me, whos not nearly so savvy - was completely helpful, along with his trainee, Alon, smart and sweet and patient, provided much assistance giving us just the information we needed without any push for us to buy.We chose our Samsungs - two different models - and Trevor and Alon answered dozens of questions in a clear and patient manner. The young woman who was allegedly helping us didn’t seem able to complete a sentence in a way that made any sense at all. We walked out after 20 minutes of effort. We went to the Verizon store in Emeryville, and in 15 minutes accomplished the purchase of a new phone with excellent help

I’ve never met another group of incompetent workers. How long should it take to port a phone? The girl was FaceTiming someone else for - wait for it - 6 hours to get this one thing set up. And it’s still glitchy - had to call Verizon and get it redone. she was just waiting for her break, left me alone and just asked me to leave our phone behind.Never again…

Not that I’m necessarily a hug fan of Verizon. The five stars is for Antoine. ( I might need to recheck his name and spelling).I needed assistance with setting up a cell phone that I purchased (refurbished ) that would also require a new service plan. I arrived at the store 30 minutes before closing. Antoine was super helpful with my many questions and made a suggestion that saved me additional money. This was my first smart phone, therefore I probably presented more questions than most customers. He was so pleasant about all the questions, even though he had a long day. Thanks!

Hello, I’m very disappointed in having to write this review because I’ve heard nothing but great things about Verizon wireless. However I was at your Berkeley location two weeks ago looking forward to opening a business account for my coffee shop. As I walked walked in there was a very high volume of customers and most of the gentleman were busy helping others. However there was a young lady standing in the corner on a tablet. As I walked in she didn’t greet me, didn’t say “Hello” or anything, I found that very unpleasant. I approached the young lady to let her know that I wanted to open a business account. To my surprise not only was she very rude but she smelled like marijuana. I’m aware that marijuana is legal in California. I found that very UNPROFESSIONAL of her. I don’t know if your employees at Verizon get Drug tested. But it’s very disappointing when I customers walks in to make business and I’m not greeted and to my surprise the person that I’m being helped by smells like weed. Her name tag read as Yosalin. To conclude this review I found it very disappointing how UNPROFESSIONAL this employee was, the outlook of the store mad me even more disappointed by not receiving hospitality as I walked in.Thank you.

There was about a 45-minute wait but that was on a Saturday. This store is awesome and the staff are friendly and totally knowledgeable about everything they sell. My experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Better than the other stores in the East Bay! Only will go to the one on Shattuck in Berkeley.

All of the online reviews for this place are so inaccurate it isnt even funny. This is without a doubt the BEST Verizon store Ive ever been to. The store itself is gorgeous-- great architecture, well-organized, and spotlessly clean. Not to mention quite modern. The customer service is spectacular. Everyone who works there is super friendly, efficient, and attentive. I had a stellar experience and the online reviews really should reflect the quality of this place.

I have a phone from them thats defective. I went to their local store in Berkeley at 2209 Shattuck Ave Berkeley, CA 94704. The service is terrible. I had to go there for four times (see below), and each time I had to wait for more than 30 minutes. They were totally incompetent. The first time I went, they cannot fix the simple problem of my phone and just ordered a replacement phone to ship in. Then the replacement phone came in but it was defective because it doesn’t read the SIM card. I went there a second time and after waiting in line for 30 minutes, they again can’t figure out what the problem was with the replacement phone, and wasted another 30 minute without doing anything useful. I went there the third time during their working hour, but the store is closed from inside because they were having a party inside!!!! I went there the fourth time, and after waiting in line another 30+ minutes, they decided to order yet another replacement phone! Also, among these frustrations, all they care was how to try to sell more junk to me, instead of resolving the issue. They tried really had to sell all kinds of junk to me while I was waiting for their stupid service! Absolutely terrible!

Most of the accessories here are very overpriced. I would suggest ordering certain items like cases, chargers, etc. online. The service here was mediocre at best--the person who worked with me spent the majority of the time talking rather than assisting me and relaying relevant information. In the end, what should have only taken a half hour or 45 minutes at the very most took well over 2 hours. Very disappointed to find that they value meaningless chatter over actually helping customers

I was scared to go to this store today because of all the horrible reviews in the past. Lame customer service is the worst! I was pleasantly surprised to have excellent service today when I took in my phone for a couple minor concerns. I was promptly and warmly greeted by a store manager named Kyle, who then quickly addressed my issues in a professional manner. Two thumbs up to Kyle, he is awesome! I would be happy to go back to the store with any other questions or problems no matter how dumb they seem (I am NOT a tech savvy person).

Came in here to try to switch from Sprint to Verizon. I finally got someones attention after half an hour in the store. He offered to add my name to the Guest List so that I will be in line for help. After I explained what I need he assured me that it is a quick process for which I shouldnt need to wait at all. Half an hour later, however, Im still waiting. Its not uncommon for there to be a wait here; there should at least be a waitlist posted at the door so that people know what theyre getting into and have some assurance that theres a system in place to eventually provide service.

Find Kristina. Shes personable, professional, and sharp. I brought a rather complicated set of issues to the store, including a Sprint ipad, parents who were paying for a bajillion gig while using about 0.28, and my own grandfathered unlimited data plan. I had about 73 questions, and she answered them all. She took her time and neatly itemized every bit of the plan on her notepad while providing some key insights. Often Id make a change and ask her to start over, and she would without hesitation. In the end, she helped me take a monthly bill from $305 to $187, while actually adding value to the account (new device). A great experience overall. Nice looking store too.

Managertold me I should have phoned ahead. No sign up sheet or take a number.Very poor business model for a store front operation. Took all morning to update my prepaid data for my jetpack. On my third trip back (the money credited hadnt been applied, so there was no connection), the rep again took my device and after numerous consultations made the phone call to connect the device. When asking for the device back, he said I never gave it to him. Then a female rep immediately confirmed that I never came in with the device. Not finding it at home and knowing that I wouldnt have gone back to the store without it, I returned and again got the adamant response from both reps, Then I spotted it on a table next to where the rep was talking to another customer. When I pointed to it, the rep simply stated there, as if I had put it there. Something is wrong here.

I never thought I would be giving any telecom store 5 stars, but I have had a succession of good experiences with this store.My (at-the-time) girlfriend and I have worked with Philip on a number of occasions to combine plans, upgrade phones and with general plan inquiries. In all instances, Philip listened to what we had to say and, rather than up-selling us, crafted our plan to meet our specific needs at the lowest possible cost.Today I called with questions about porting a line into Google Voice and the effects of upgrading or using a new phone on our existing contract. Philip is, unfortunately, no longer with the company, but the store manager, Michael Silva, was very helpful. Rather than getting indignant at losing business and trying to up-sell me on other services, Michael politely and concisely laid out the different plan options available to me and the effects of my choices.I am not saying that Verizon as a whole has spectacular customer service but, like I said at the beginning, my experiences with this store have been very positive.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! 0/10! Went in on Monday December 10th around 2pm. Was not greeted when i walked in. Two sales staff turned there backs to me. Walked up the counter told them I wanted to upgrade my phone, she got some info from me and said to browse around while she pulls up some information. The same sales ascoiciate proceeded to help 3 differnt people, at which time I returned to the counter and asked who is helping. At which time the senior staff member who had been standing behind the counter the whole time said she was, and the ascociate then explained to her what I was trying to do. From there on I was treated even more porely in the Senior Staff Members ability to explain to me some bs procedual rule that I can add another line and switch the phone numbers between lines, but cannot delete a line that is expired and switch phone numbers on that as well. Talk about some crooks paid on commission. Will never go back
