Art and family are incredibly knowledgeable and kind! Great selection. Had the rare bottle I was looking for of bourbon and ended up walking out with a lot more than I intended!

I came late and he was happy to pause midway though locking the door and offer great suggestions based on my cryptic descriptions. Very knowledgeable and great selections, so many it could be a museum. Good practices for social distancing, one allowed in the store at a time, and very friendly.

I can hardly walk by the Northbrae Bottle Shop without popping in to say hello to Art. The place has a great vibe, and it seems like hes always got a smile on his face and a gleam in his eye.Art raised the next door Gioia Pizzeria to iconic status, and for a while now hes been building a quintessential Berkeley neighborhood shop focused on fun, friendly, knowledgeable service, with a well-considered selection of beer, wines & spirits. I live in the neighborhood, so Im biased, but do yourself a favor and stop by here instead of going anywhere else. Prices are comparable and the experience is memorable.You dont need no Mo! ;-)

Love this place - I dont have a great wine vocabulary, so I always tell the shop owner what Im looking for. Hes so helpful, and Ive never been disappointed. I always state my budget, too, and hes always stuck to that. Ive been really impressed!

The place for beer by consultation, by an expert, who has one of the best selections, (If occasionally somewhat limited) of craft beer and wines in the east bay. Ask and learn.

They dont have a lot of commonly found wines/beers here. Its a small shop, and the staff/owner are always able to make a recommendation if you dont recognize some of the labels. Its a little pricier than getting some generic wine elsewhere, but its premium for a reason.

We had a little holiday gathering at the flower shop this past December and Art recommended a Champagne that left almost everyone asking what it was: Monthuys Brut.

Go here all the time. Great selection, and great recommendations. A true neighborhood gem.
