Booked a vaccination appointment only to be told when I arrived (after standing in line for 15m) that they didnt have the vaccine. Surely a national chain could check they have inventory online? Or at least text or call me to let me know its not in stock?
Unfortunately the store is understocked and also understaffed. Those poor employees when I was there were being pulled from electronics to beauty and make up to needed at front register all at the same time. And theres barely any softdrinks. Only good Service is the Western Union. GoblinO_o

Worst place for pictures. Blurry . They dont even have nice camera for pictures. Paid $17 for nothing.
This pharmacy has made getting my medication a monthly ordeal. Just today alone I was hung up on four times when trying to call to see if my medication was available. I never got through, I just have up after nearly an hour of trying.

Google says its open until eleven, the hours posted on the door say the same. At 10:45, there are people finishing up their shopping inside but the security guard wont let me through the door. Bummer.
DO NOT ORDER PHOTOS HERE. I used to order photos from the Walgreens at Shattuck and Cedar which closed. The photos from this site cut off peoples heads and were discolored/darker than other prints. Photo team didnt have any thoughts or suggestions on how to improve, so would recommend going elsewhere.
Received fast checkout from Marian and Ana today. Store was clean and fully stocked. I placed an online photo order 30 minutes prior to arriving and it was promptly ready to go.
Good for a quick snack. Food isn’t great but it’s Walgreens not a restaurant. School supplies and cookies is all you really need. I will say the cashiers are slow. Besides that nothing else is wrong.
Why only this Walgreens does not allow non-service animals (dogs) in their store? Whereas other drug stores around the blocks are completely fine bringing my dog in. I dont quite understand this Walgreens spent a full-time manager at the door just to bounce customers out based on a list of Nos posted at the storefront window.
Waited at the photo station for 15 minutes in an empty store for the attendant to tell me that if I wanted to print a photo I had on my flash drive as a 2x2” print it would cost $15 while a 4x4” print would cost $0.35 because “if it’s a passport photo I have to charge you for a passport photo regardless of whether you pay for us to take the picture.”
THEY DONT CARRY DAIRY FREE ICE CREAM. 75%+ of the world is lactose intolerant. BRUH
My girlfriend needed to buy headphones that were behind the locked glass. She approached store employees for help and they insisted that I should just press the button and call for help. However there was no button on the glass, and after another customer flagged down an employee, my girlfriend had to wait 15 minutes for help to arrive. When employee comes to open glass, girlfriend asks about button Woops, we removed it. And then the cashier was rude to her, to boot. Terrible customer service.
The main individual who walks around and usually monitors in front of the store has a tendency to racially profile. They tend to discriminate against the community. Also they are very judgements and tend to snap at the customers. The Walgreens on Ashly and San Pablo is much more helpful.
The customer service is FABULOUS. The pharmacist and techs remember your name if you;ve been going for some time. They are courteous, professional and very clear in their instructions when you ask for instructions after they offer these. Ive really enjoyed every single person who has and does work there at Walgreens at Shattuck and Allston in Berkeley! Give them all raises!
Its a Walgreens, a bit on the smaller size for a convenience store but usually has what youd need.
The pharmacist Andrew is the best! Friendly and super helpful with all these added tips for whatever condition you have.
It actually manages to be worse than the Walgreens on Telegraph, which is quite an accomplishment on itself. Its smaller, more cramped, and youre better off buying OTC medicines and vitamins from Amazon if you have prime. Wanted to buy a bottle of Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer and it was $8 in store and $5 on Amazon.
Best pharmacy staff of any Walgreens in Berkeley. Super convenient location, right off the BART & 88 bus.
The good: Hyper-convenient location next to Downtown Berkeley BART. Open late.The bad: The line is ridiculous almost any time of day. Those poles with belts between them that they have outside clubs to manage the line, they have a set of those permanently in this store for the cash registers & its not uncommon to see 10+ people in line at a time.So, if you need sthing (anything) while downtown and you dont want to walk far, stop in here. If youre in a rush, good luck to you (or drive to CVS just a few blocks south on Shattuck, same side of the street).
There kinda of racists not all the employees but the asian man in there is he asked to check my bag and I did notting to him Im very uncomfortable going in there sometimes but Its close to me and I notice he racially profiles certain people but only a certain color black people its not nice makes me have anxiety and stressed to shop how he treats people come there.
Conclusion First- Customer service is not so nice and cashiers are slow. But for some reason, I see many more items on sale in this Walgreen compared to the one in front of Sather Gate.Pro- They have crazy sales from time to time (like selling $10 chocolate box at $2)Con- Cashiers are slow and customer service isnt so good.
The worst counter I ever met at Walgreen!When I pull out my commuter check, he gave me a very impatient face, clearly showing that he did not want to process it. He asked me to fill out all of the information at the back of the check. (Usually I just write down my name, and thats fine.) and his voice was super unwelcome. It felt like he was making this process so complex so that I would left. I did left without processing the checking. Not going back to this store again as long as the counter works there.
The short customer service worker named Sundy is very rude and was verbally rascist towards customers and racially profiled customers and follows them around. Do not come here the rudeness&poor customer service skills of Sundy an others is outrageous ! Help fight for equality!!
Very long checkout lines. Find any other Walgreens if you can.EDIT: The situation has not improved over the last few years. In fact it had gotten worse. It is as though management was pathologically unable to hire more checkers... unlike Target across the street, which had shorter lines and is deservedly taking away some of their business.
The Walgreens in downtown Berkeley has been a place which I have been going to for years, Ive seen there employee team completely change atleast five times, Ive been going here since 2009. When it was across the street. My experience here has always been a frendly one, with some odd occurences due to crazy city folks

This is a really busy Walgreens.
Staff service attitude is super bad! I have to pay more than 20$ but I will not retreat. Finally, I will ask the management to come out and take out all the money from the cash register. I will call the staff to pay me 20$ by phone. The whole store and the staff are completely sorry. I also complained to my colleague in front of me, obviously he was looking for the wrong money, super exaggeration!
