I’ve only been here twice, but I am blown away by the professionalism and expertise of the people that work here. The Berkeley store isn’t as large as the Blick in SF on Market, but you can always check online if you’re looking for something specific. Their website is clunky but has always been accurate about showing what items are in stock and whether or not a specific location carries an item.The Berkeley Blick is about 20 minutes further than other Blick stores for me, but I plan to visit this location more often just because the people are so nice! Plus, it’s always easy to find parking.

If you need any custom framing done ask for Lorena! The process of choosing from hundreds of colors for mat borders, and the endless selection of custom frames to choose from would typically be stressful and overwhelming, but she made it both fun and seamless (there were literally 60-100 different shades of each color). Lorena gave me the freedom to choose whatever I thought worked best while also offering her expert opinion and ideas for the 8 prints that I had done, and that was very much appreciated.During the process of selecting frames, the one I chose were on back order because they had sold out. Lorena clearly and effectively expressed to me that it would take a little longer for them to arrive, and communicated the entire process to me so I never felt out of the loop. All my art is up in my apartment, and she took something that already looked great, to something that looks like it belongs in a museum.You can believe that I will comeback to Blick on Berkeley strictly for her help and expertise. I just came for createx airbrush paints which they had a fairly nice selection of. The store has a really huge selection of art supplies and the staff were really helpful.

Lots of great stuff here. The thing is that it just seems too expensive. Even on sale things are expensive.

A blackhole for artists! I can spend hours and here just browsing through their wide selection of art supplies. I took their Resin Geode class and it was so much fun! They were very generous with the supplies that were needed for the project. Very helpful Anns friendly staff.

Amazing service and selection! I loved my (first) visit and intend to return. The workers were extremely helpful both on the phone and in person.

BUYER BEWARE! Requested an item for curbside pick up and wanted to pay in person but they would not honor the price on their own website! How is that even possible?! The order print out given to me with the item even had the web price on there. Do yourself a favor and just order online or from another retailer.

Everything is neatly organized, and theyve got helpful directional stickers for the aisles and the checkout to keep things flowing smoothly even with all the craziness happening. All staff I interacted with were also very friendly and helpful. Ill definitely be coming back!

Store has just about everything. Recent started doing colored pencil drawings. Went there for some specific supplies. They had everything and then some so much in fact, I was a bit overwhelmed. Finally got what I needed though. Staff friendly and helpful. Place was pretty busy (Saturday afternoon). Street parking in neighborhood only. Definitely a place for all your art supplies.

I had never been to this store as its an hour away but I was in search of Christmas gifts for my husband and his new lino-print hobby. I was pretty clueless as to what he might like/need. Their customer service is amazing. Noah didnt just walk me to the right section but went over different items and took me throughout the store pointing out items that my husband would like. My husband was so happy Christmas morning with the gifts I had bought from Blick. I will definitely be back!

Great selection of art materials covering all common 2D art, and some of the smaller 3D arts. Helpful staff, with student discounts. Lots of pens, pencils, and paints, plus tons of pads and canvases. Fun gifts and supplies for young kids too. Its always inspiring to visit. Their new location on 10th is as good as its old location.

I love this store, always well stocked and so many different art supplies! Theyre practicing covid safe procedures in store, and have online order pick up available if you dont want to go in. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and Ive always had good experiences here for all the years Ive shopped here. Yay for Blicks!

This is a well organized art supply store (and other fun stuff) with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’ve always bought my design drafting supplies from Blick but now I’m exploring drawing for pleasure and it’s been great to shop here.

You can get Utrect brand paints & canvas & linen by the yard + all kinds of art & craft supplies. Good store for browsing. They have tiny animal figures too. Blick & Utrect in Berkeley have merged and relocated to this new 10th St.address.

I asked the mouse why they wanted to eat the plastic baggy Why my friend do you want to eat plastic i asked. Then he recited the bee movie script and danced a marry dance. I was sad and stinky when he was done. that does not answer my question i sead. Then i grabbed some markers and started to draw. It was like magic. I soon drew snoop dogg riding a horse with to thighs. I was happy with my creation

Went in today after a long shelter inplace period and was greeted by a clean store, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an overall great shopping experience. They didnt have the exact item i came in for but were quick to make several alternative suggestions that I was happy to purchase today!

Great selection. Loses 1 star because the old location on University was better, in just about every way. The new store is smaller, has less product, narrower aisles, less staff offering to help you, is further from the freeway, and has no free parking lot. Still a great store, just not as good as it was at the old location. With the changes, Artist and Craftsman on Shattuck in Berkeley is now clearly the best art supply store in town.

They have consistently covered my needs. Staff is friendly, helpful, courteous. Store is well stocked. If you are a serious artist or hobbyist, they have everything you might need - and things you didnt know you did.

Nice staff, great selection between economic and high quality supplies. They seem a bit expensive in general, but definitely a semi-regular shopper.

When you want to use your creativity this is the spot to visit! I wanted to experiment with air brush gun and in found everything I needed in that store. You can ask for help and they can redirect you to the right place within the store.Good prices!

Blick will automatically price match items with online competitors when you purchase in-store. Thats better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. Ive found all of their employees to be pleasant & helpful.

It was the first time I had been to Berkeley Blick since they moved from University. The new store is smaller, has less inventory, fewer employees working, and the location is not as convenient to get to. For those reasons, I took away a star. If I was judging the store on its own merit, rather than comparing it to the previous location it would get 5 stars. I couldnt do that, though, since the whole time I was there I was thinking about how much better the store was when it was in the old location.

This location is much better than three previous one on University. The store is small, but have everything an artist would need, and items that you didnt even know you needed. Everything is easy to find as well.The staff was super helpful; they went above and beyond to assist me in getting the materials that I needed for my art project.I look forward to my next visit.

Very nice store with plenty of supplies. The automated matching of online prices is definitely helpful and made me feel like I wasnt being entirely ripped off. If they advertise that a bit better in the store, it may encourage people to look past the price on the tag, which is sometimes double what it comes to at the register. Overall, very satisfied. This will likely be an every few week visit after flying in to Oakland

The new location is pleasant. Seems smaller than before but its in a nice neighborhood & has all the great stuff that makes Blick a terrific art store. Theres metered street parking but customers can use lot for Office Depot next door. Staff friendly & knowledgeable. Love it!

I only wish I had one closer to me. They recently moved to a smaller store but they dont lack in having great stuff. I will forever love this place. Going in just makes me want to create new things. Staff is friendly and helpful

Just went for the first time since they moved and it’s a great location. Plenty of parking and they had everything I needed in stock. Great prices and steep discounts. Worth the trip over the bridge for me! *****

The manager here lied to me saying that the product could not be sold, we later found out that she was not telling the truth and the product was in saleable condition. 1 star for that. Do not recommend!

Pretty cool place. Went there to pick up art materials for my brother in law. Good selection and place was clean and nice . They have alot of different art supplies and the workers were nice. The only bad thing was the cashiers didnt know if we would get the same price as online. We did.

They always have what Im looking for, and the prices are great! The staff is always helpful if you have questions or need advice. I love coming here, and do so waaay too often.

Good overall, however seemed a bit limited from kid friendly supplies. I could only find one type and one size of all purpose kid-friendly glue. Was trying to get a large refill bottle but was not available. Also, clear glue only came in a big pack to make slime but not by itself. They did however seem to have a lot of supplies for grown-ups.Im sad to say that Target probably has a lot more art supplies for children. I was also hoping they had art classes but I couldnt find any.

Loved this location! I have been shopping at the location in my midwest city and was thrilled to learn that my new place in Berkeley was just a few minutes from this store. I stopped in to touchbase and say hello. I really loved the atmosphere... and loved the prices even more!

Love the new store. Although this store seems a bit smaller than the old one, there seems to be more merchandise in it, displayed in way that makes finding what you need easier. The staff is friendly and helpful as always. And, importantly, gone are the parking challenges that made shopping at the old location difficult, sometimes impossible.

Friendly service, easy to get to and park. Good selection of supplies, a large section of craft blades and precision cutting tools. Lots of paints, brushes, mediums, and things to experiment with. Small but thorough ceramics section, oil clays, some mold making things, textiles, screen and block printing supplies, paper and sketchbooks. Spray paint, markers, paint markers, pastels, sealers, adhesives... They have alot of stuff.

It has a little of EVERYTHING! I have been shopping here since 2015. The staff are friendly and helpful. As an educator, or outside art teacher, you get a 10% discout off all purchases.I do miss the old locations size, but if you can believe it, the parking options in the 10th and Gilman area are actually much better than University and 6th.Warning: the closeness of everything, the colors, or something, makes my blood sugar drop EVERY SINGLE TIME. I also imagine in might, MAY (and I am not a doctor), cause problems for te hose prone to seizures from flashing lights, etc. All I can do is report my experiences and I LOVE BLICKS! I rarely give 5 stars.
