Great coffee. Silent place in the square we may have felt out of our comfort zone or like we may have been disturbing the guests since we had a two year old with us and he was tapping away and everyone else was so quiet. But we actually felt very welcomed the server was funny and very accommodating to us even with a little kid, he played with him and even gave him some freaky little toy to play with. The food was nothing to write joke about but the coffee was on point.
Nice establishment near campus. It is a pretty cool environment with a tasty background music. Students hang out here a lot because it reminds them of their happy hippie lives before being sucked in on Berea College academics. The coffee is great, but salty for my $6/hour paycheck. Overall, go there and have a good time!
We had never been to Berea before, and stumbled across it, then we found this great coffee shop. We had a sandwich, soup and some great lattes. Adam and his staff chatted with us and told us all about the town. We loved this coffee shop experience so much we actually considered moving here to Berea! What a friendly place it must be. Thank you Adam!
Great coffee shop! Owner is a great host. Love BC&T!
Oh my god I feel like I’m somewhere in Venice Italy but right here in Berea Kentucky, this place is above 5 stars, nice and warm people that works here, they will do a dream work to make you satisfied, amazing amazing amazing, I will come here whenever I get a chance...🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
BC&T is an amazing place to get coffee, sit and relax, or grab a sweet desert. I cannot say enough good things about BC&T or its owner. Adam is amazing and has remembered my favorite drink from the first time I ordered it. I have been a loyal customer for 3 years now and I will always return here if I am in Berea.
The owner of this establishment has overstepped boundaries, and instead of apologizing or acknowledging this, they chose to ignore their wrong-doing and instead play the victim. Very unprofessional.
I only got a black coffee to go, but it was delicious. Fast service, fair price, and to top it off, the coffee stayed hot for hours. Im not sure what they do to it, but their cups keep it hot for a good long time.
I really wanted to like this place but I have met too many people over too wide a span of time to ignore how the owner treats people. The coffees not worth it.
The owner has mistreated customers on multiple occasions, and good response when called out is immature at best and harassment at worst. No coffee is worth supporting this person.
I mean. just look at the reviews on Facebook.owner is belligerent refuses to support the students that drive his businessand instead of just saying sorry and shutting his mouth when a customer complained of unwanted touch from him he banned them from the shop???? big oof my dude.
Delightful atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service.
I loveeeee this placeeeee! The atmosphere is so cooolllll :) definitely recommend 🖤 the worker I’m not sure of her name is so nice as well:)
Nice atmosphere and decent overpriced coffee. You pay for the location as much as for your drink.
Cozy and relaxing. Perfect coffee shop for great coffee, baked goods, spending time with a friend or working on your laptop
Very delicious coffee. The guy that is always working is super friendly and has a great sense of humor. The best coffee in Berea for sure
I LOVE their coffee! Stopped here on the way to school almost every morning sophomore year. Adam is a great dude, and an excellent server. After a couple weeks of coming every day, he would get my coffee ready as soon as I came in the door. I haven’t been coming recently as often as I used to, but when I have, it’s been as good and sometimes even better than I remember.
Really great place, the owner is an amazing guy.
A cute little coffee shop with a quiet small town feel. Great coffee drinks and sandwiches. Very nice employees too.
Great place. The boss is so kind.🙏🙏🙏
A cute little store, the owner is really kind and practically knows everyone. The sandwiches are great and the coffee is even better. I stop there between classes when I can! It always makes my day better
A wonderful cafe environment that uses quality coffee and makes some great mixed drinks.
Great coffee and an even better ambience. If you want to get some work done in a peaceful setting with hot beverages, B C & T is the place to go. Whenever I go to Berea, I make sure to go here once.
Good people
Cannot say enough great things about the gentleman that waited on us Thursday. He was kind, funny, and most importantly made a blackberry latte to die for. Definitely will be stopping again.
I absolutely love this coffee shop. I love being able to stop in and have a great latte and some really amazing sweet treats when I am running around Berea. I cant count the number of times Berea Coffee & Tea has made my morning just a little bit more enjoyable! Thank you so much for being a genuine local experience.
Good coffee and sandwiches
Good sandwich and nice people. Outdoor seating.
Okay, so this place has a nice interior and decent prices. Cant speak to the coffee because I didnt end up getting one. Entered with a group of people and felt like we werent really welcome here. I have never seen a coffee shop that has a bar-set up when it comes to ordering. So we sat at the bar and waited and waited. The guy working behind the counter never really looked up or acknowledged us. I understand if you are busy but its weird he didnt really say anything to us. At one point, some other customers came up who he must have known. They got their order in before us despite coming after us. They even said to the guy, Didnt those people get here before us. The guy behind the counter didnt care. So we left. Oh well. Wouldnt recommend it.
Quaint little shop, have a wide variety of coffees to drink, and can also purchase beans. They have delicious sandwiches and desserts as well. Friendly and fun staff set the mood as a welcoming, relaxing shop. Great place to spend some time
Nice diversion on a trip home. They know how to to pull a great shot of espresso! And nice lunch options. Well worth the 5 minutes from the interstate.
Very good! I got a berry tea, and my husband got a coffee. It was very inexpensive for how good it was. My mother in law got hers for free because the very nice man behind the counter said he mistakenly thought she was with my husband, and therefore she waited too long in his opinion.
I always stop in on my way north or south when I visit family. Love this place, still my favorite coffee place in the whole state.
Good sandwiches and coffee and even better customer service. Worth stopping by when in Berea.
Nice place.....staff is a bit surly
The best place to have a cup of coffee on a rainy day around. A special note to their house blend; not too bitter and goes down real smooth. The desserts are top notch, the staff is friendly and its right next to a fudge shop. What more could you ask for?
If I could give it 10*** I would. Great breakfast sandwich and coffee...the owner is fabulous. We will stop here again on our way back to and from Michigan.to Florida. ❤ kate from Milford!!!
Many times Berea Coffee and Tea Co. has been a host site and my personal favorite setting and comfort space for a quick meet up with friends for coffee! (Try their chai lattes!) The menu for pastries, finger foods, desserts and sandwiches are sweet and simple. Each time I visit, staff is always sweet, willing to serve and professional even at peak rush hours throughout the day! Which is typical to be at most hours considering the popularity of the place is great. Nice and welcoming unique interior and perfect for stopping to study or finish up assignments! College students like I, love this place!
I dont know why Ive never been here! I enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was great!! The white hot chocolate was the bomb!!
The coffee here is phenomenal, and the teas are excellent too. Inviting atmosphere, perfect location. The perfect place to grab a cup.
Every time I come in it is clean and a calm environment. The food is amazing as well as the drinks, absolutely love it!
I love the staff. What a great place to just sit alone or with friends. The food is wonderful and well priced. A true Gem of Berea.
Was planning to grab a latte and shop around at some of the local shops but after stopping here, I just wanted to leave immediately! As soon as I walked in, you could just sense the tense feeling that the co-workers were having. I have a feeling the guy who took care of me was some sort of management. However, possessed no traits of a leader. He was unfriendly from the time I walked to the counter. no greeting, no smile, nothing. I noticed he put whole milk in my latte instead of almond milk. After I asked him about it (nicely), he basically scolded me and rolled his eyes. I was so embarrassed and frustrated. I will likely never go back. The latte was too sweet for me anyways and tasted like something I could make at home myself. I feel sorry for the employees here if that was actually your boss
Got dropped here after my car wrecked on the highway. Adam and a super sweet young woman (whose name I never got) were working; they provided coffee and an excellent Cinnabon bun while I sorted everything out! They also were supportive and very kind the few hours I waited there. Adam also let me use a blow drier on my hair after it got soaked by the rain.10/10 would recommend the coffee & Cinnabon bun.
Passing through on a bicycle trip and just cant pass up a coffee shop and WiFi catch up. Atmosphere was welcoming and the staff friendly and helpful. Coffee was top notch and hot. Had a Mediterranean sandwich - a bit on the pricey side (college town) - but hit the spot. Definitely give them a try, youll be glad you did!
Cute place.. It would be nice if their coffee was actually fresh... was there 2 times and they poured me a cup out if an almost empty pot. If I hadnt been getting it to go, I would have either asked for a fresh cup or not gotten it.
I didnt try the coffee which is their main attraction, but the chicken salad sandwich and cookie provided to them by Clementines were delicious. They only had very few lunch options though. Also the place was very small. That could be cozy, but instead the blue carpet, walls, and ceiling with painted clouds made it feel very cold; more like a babys room than a coffee shop.
Delicious breakfast and smooth coffee ☕️ so glad I found this place again on my travels. Its pinned and saved now cant wait till I pass through again📍
Amazing establishment. The coffee is great. Everyone on staff is respectful and very approachable. Service is unmatched. Will definitely make this my go to coffee and homework stop.
Wonderfully set up to be inviting and cozy. Very nice and helpful staff as well. Nice to have an option to gas station coffee.
I was going to have lunch here today with my wife, but while I was there looking at the menu I had a most unpleasant experience. I asked the owner a question about how big their $8 sandwiches were, a perfectly simple question. Only a couple minutes later while my wife and I were waiting to place our order, the owner started mocking us in front of the other customers about how we were asking about the size of the sandwiches saying its not subway, its a normal sized sandwich. Needless to say, we walked out and refused to give him any of our service. I urge anyone interested in dining here to reconsider. He was quite rude and did not seem interested in helping us.
The shop is really cute and has a good atmosphere. Cafe Mocha was smooth and just sweet enough. The barista was entertaining and informative.
Love it. Nice coffee house feel
This was one of the places I frequented, while attending Berea College. The atmosphere is relaxing, inviting, and tranquil; with an equally warm ambience. BC&T offers a versatile list of delicious coffees, teas, and espresso; as well as baked goods, and home made sandwiches/soups. All of the baristas are friendly, lovely individuals; and the conversations with them, are just another perk of resting here for a spell. Definitely make this one of your stops, if you come to visit!
Attempted to have lunch here because they usually have gluten free bread. They did not today. Asked if I could get a salad with chicken. Nope, dont have enough chicken either. So take your chances; dont go out of your way like I did today. Sometimes its good. Today was a huge disappointment.
Comfy atmosphere to read or chat. Nice staff. Really like the owner. Sandwiches are varied and more interesting than standard fare.
So pleased... dreary morning..we were welcomed in... helped us ease into the day... thank you 👏
Asked for an extra hot latte & it was barely warm. Asked for a blueberry muffin & got a banana nut. Americano was weaker than brewed.
Nice location and decor but service can be hit or miss. Too hipster-ish at times so customers can be made to feel ignored. Coffee and eats are decent.
Horrible .... mocha frappacino $5 for 3 ozthen when I remarked he said he would give me a discount and charged me $4 which is absurd. There was too much ice and the taste was no where near mocha. Will NEVER go there
Nice coffee shop with fresh pies and cakes. Sandwiches also available. Located in the middle of everything.
Perfect coffee place to read, grade papers, draw out notes,, ..., and for cozy conversation. Yummy coffee with nutmeg.
The staff was very nice and the atmosphere was relaxing, but the coffee was atrocious. I got an iced vanilla latte and it was way too sweet, it was like drinking stevia. My mom got an Irish creme coffee and it was probably the most disgusting coffee I have ever tasted; it was comparable to battery acid. Would NOT come back for coffee, though I may try a tea. Overall, we were very disappointed with our drinks.
Cozy, friendly, reasonably priced-good food drinks and music. What else could you ask for ?
Okay so I would totally have give five stars but our experience left a bit of a weird feeling for us. This place came highly recommended by a local and the service was good! We ordered sandwiches and I was SO grateful to have a gluten free bread options like YES thank you! Then our food came out.. and apparnelty yall were out of everything so we got an olive, onion, and balsamic sandwich which yall were super apologetic for and apparently there was miscommunication about what yall had available. But we were hungry and it was fine! The waitress mentioned getting a discount because of all the veggies missing on our sandwiches and even as we checked out the woman mentioned giving us the discount for the inconvenience, but then when we left we realized we werent given any sort of discount which was kind of disappointing. Please make sure to keep your word to customers, its super valuable. But otherwise everything was great, more so just a note for the staff to be sure of :)
The Only Place You should Go in the AM. Clean, Fast, Friendly, Fair & a good place to support. Very well made coffee, never a burned taste w/ good aroma & perfect Temp. The employees take the time to make the coffee & not rushed. Always amazing customer service.
Can place great town best coffee I had in a while
The venue is so gorgeous, it has dim lighting with sift music and a traditional Asian interior design. It is all fair trade so you eat good food, have great drinks, and feel good about it too. It even smells amazing. It is a nice and calm place to do homework, I just wish they had better wifi.
Pretty good... Sometimes pricey and they sometimes forget to leave cheese off my sandwiches. But good neighbors and quick service. A real staple of the neighborhood.
Super friendly and smells amazing! The apple pies are great!
Wonderful staff, service, coffee, and food!
BC&T is as good as it gets. The atmosphere is warm, casual, inviting, and hip. The service is incredibly friendly; I venture to say you wont get this level of personal attention at many other cafes. They also now offer gluten-free bread which is a Godsend for people who are gluten-free or have Celiac Disease, such as myself. Try the Mediterranean sandwich; its easily the best sandwich Ive had in a long time. BC&T is a Berea classic, check it out whether youre a Berea local or tourist!
Weakest iced coffee Ive ever had in my life. Gas station coffee is better. To make it worse, the person who I assume is the owner was essentially trying to hit on my wife while I was standing right there. Guy was a complete tool.
Not sure how anybody could give this place a bad review. Laid back with nice atmosphere, coffee and biscuit were both delicious, staff was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent experience. Great coffee, fine employees and had a spur of the moment conversation with the owner, which was also pretty awesome. Will stop in again if Im in the area.
Great place for coffee and a snack. Awesome people too.
Cozy coffee joint with good beverages and tasty food. Convenient location between shops and Boone Tavern.
A homely and humble cafe nestled on the premise of historic Boone Tavern, the food is delectable and the atmosphere impeccable. Theres no better place to sit down and chat over a freshly grilled sandwich and your choice of warm drink.
Awesome latte perfectly prepared. Good service. Nice vibe. Will return when in berea.
Great drinks and eats! Exemplary service and staff is always friendly. You can count on a calm and relaxing environment. Theyre taste in music is pretty great too! The only downfall as a college student is that its a little price-y... but they do offer students a 10% discount. I recommend the cafe mocha or torani latte.
Excellent location on main square near restaurants and craft galleries. Lovely atmosphere and seating. Very calm and relaxed. Soft music, not too loud. Service could be better. Staff not too attentive, laid change on counter. Just pointed to board when I asked a question. Coffee good. I had plain black 5 star blend. Nothing special. I was not offered the single source coffee which I could not see on the board. Did not have food. I would come back if I was nearby but would not make a special trip.
How lucky am I to have found this place traveling from Georgia to Michigan. Great stop along i75!
Over priced and terrible tasting coffee and food. Highly recommend native bagel or noodle nirvana instead. Owner manages his cafe poorly and treats his workers terribly, which causes terrible service.
I prefer noodles, drinks, and world peace. The coffee at Native Bagel is wayyyy better. Also, I dont support businesses that conduct themselves like trolls, in person or in real life.
A must-go-to when Im in town. I love the atmosphere and staff. Coffee is soooo good!
I have always loved this little coffee shop it would be a shame if they were not there. We get ground coffee or wholebean... however you want it. THe owner - whom I would call a local - is amazing. Always with a smile. Great experience.
Great quality! I love their desserts and drinks. A little expensive, but no more than Starbucks or Panera. Good coffee shop, definitely worth the stop!
Very lovely little coffee shop! Me and my husband got coffee and Paninis and they were WONDERFUL
A great place to have artisan coffee and eats. A local favorite. Ask the barista about his travels
