Tater Knob Pottery is somewhat of a unique experience among working potteries. Its a family thing, with a strong work ethic and a love for clay. Situated in rural Kentucky, the artisans transform clay into both functional and artistic pieces prized all over. Some of the work is featured in the Berea Artisan Center. Ive known the proprietors for over 2 decades, and cant even imagine how many tons of clay theyve used. I relish every visit.
Its an amazing place. The craftsmanship was remarkable. The owners were very nice and extremely helpful.
A favorite of our trip. Good prices and beautiful pottery. Sarah offered us coffee and water and demonstrated a throw for us. A special visit.
My wife and I visited last week, on recommendation from my Aunt. David was very hospitable, and showed us how he makes his mugs. Tater Knob Pottery is tucked off in the hills of Kentucky, and I highly recommend you give them a visit!
Must see. Worth the trip to come just to see Sara. She gives an awesome demonstration of how she makes pottery. Her creations are beautiful and totally functional. Perfect afternoon
Everyone was so friendly. Sara was so kind and showed us how she threw clay. She shared about the process.

If you have not been to Tater Knob Pottery you are missing out on one of Kentuckys true gems. Sarah, Jeff and David create the most beautiful and functional pottery you will find anywhere. We enjoy their creations daily as we have replaced all of our commercial dishware with Tater Knob pottery. So get on down to Tater Knob Pottery, you will be amazed at what you find.

My sisters and I took our 91 year old mom to visit and were blown away by the graciousness of the place. The entire experience was awesome. Beautiful pieces to purchase. What a relaxed place.

Great place! Just going in to browse and was treated to a demonstration and fruit punch. Super friendly and willing to answer any questions you have. You feel at home. I really gained an appreciation for their art. Recommend this as a stop anytime!
Going to Tater Knob is a shear delight. I called to see what time they were open till and Sara answered and said Im staying late come on down. Sara greeted us with a smile, fresh punch and sweet treats as we made our way thru the shop deciding what to buy. Best shopping experience ever!!
If I could give 10 stars I would. We were on a family vacation to Berea, KY and just happened to stop in because of our rental house having information on Tater Knob Pottery. I had left my husband and kids, ages 4, 3, and 1, in the car (it is a pottery shop after all!), but was persuaded by the owner Sarah to bring them in. She then gave them clay to play with and threw a pot on the wheel as a demonstration for them. They also had coffee and fruit for everyone to enjoy! Such hospitality and a forever memory for our family!Oh and the pottery was amazing too! :) We now own coffee mugs, juice (whos kidding, bourbon) cups, a pitcher, ring holder, and a bowl as a gift. Such a wonderful shop that I will never forget and look forward to our next visit!
Wonderful place to visit. David was welcoming and super informative. Definitely coming back next time Im in the area.
Half the fun is getting there! It is in a scenic section of Madison County. But once you do you will find a homey atmosphere, friendly craftsmen, and great pottery.
