The workers in Unique beauty in Benton harbor is always so friendly and nice. They know exactly what we want or what we are looking for once they get an idea of the type of style we want. They get a 5 star in my opinion

I visited here on 8/30/17 and had the worst experience ever! Went in to buy my mom a few wigs and for my sister to pick out a few as well. However, we were not greeted upon entry, I had to speak first (which is my natural personality). We headed for the wig area and was not told of any rules or store procedures. So, Ahmad (cant really recall his name but I believe this is it) was asked if my mom could try on wigs and he appeared hesitant and asked several questions about which of us needed to try on. Fine! Then once we saw where stocking caps were located and the fact that we were in the wig area by ourselves receiving little to no support from the workers, my sister uses a stocking cap to try on a wig. Again, this was one of two reasons why we entered this store. The same guy gets upset at my sister and chose to use smart comments and hid the stocking caps. He explained that we needed to ask each time. My issue was with his delivery. No one explained the rules and I informed him of that and he pointed a small board that was covered up by other things which was not completely visible to potential customers. He thought that we should have read his board. However, if I am going to spend money, its going to be somewhere that earns my business and respects me as a potential customer AND is helpful when I walk in the door. This situation was truly unfortunate because I believe this guy thought we were up to no good (probably because of some bad experiences hes had with other customers in the past) and I dont like to be stereotyped and/or misjudged because of what I look like. The three of us are all educated and had our own money and could have spent a great deal of money here, however, Ahmads arrogance, stereotyping and lack of quality customer service ruined it. Sadly, we are all from Detroit and I relocated to this area 3.5 years ago and my mom and sister were just here for the week visiting. And I was silly enough to take them to this place as a first time visit for all of us. Horrible! Horrible! Once I explained to him these issues, he should have tried to make things better. However, his non-chalant deamenor wouldnt allow him to. My advice is to embrace all of your potential customers because you just never know who might walk in! Tried it with the wrong group of women and black women at that!Royal Beauty Supply on M139 was able to help us and Ms. Dyson in the wig area was terrific! It was such a warm embrace from all the staff there!
