Made a trip from PDX to visit friends and stop at the trunk show being held beginning of November 2019....(before covid) There was a group of knitters, knitting. They acknowledged my entrance. The trunk show person and the clerk (not sure which was which) totally ignored me! I was looking at the gorgeous yarn, prepared to purchase. They still ignored me while chatting away.. I left. I usually support my not-so-local yarn shops. And I spend 150 to 200.00...Went to wool town and supported them.

This is an amazing shop. They have beautiful yarns, supplies and patterns. The people that work there are very knowledgeable. I am a beginning knitter - they make me feel welcome, and they answer all my questions without making me feel like a dumb bell. Best of all there is a couch area where folks go to enjoy knitting and they will always help if you have questions.

Fancywork Yarn Shop is “happy mother-in-law” amazing! The owner Elise suggested the most perfect Christmas gift for a hard to please knitter who has everything. The store is so well stocked, beautifully displayed, and they have the best ideas for all levels of knitter. We are so lucky to have this shop in town!

Since opening in January 2018, Fancywork continues to add beautiful indie-dyed yarns, kits and accessories for all level knitters. There are numerous experienced knitters and instructors on staff to help and teach all types of skills: socks, double-knitting, brioche, etc. I purchase nearly all my yarn from Fancywork and have little need to make the trek into Portland just for yarn. So happy you are here, Elise! You are a doll. Best yarn shop in Central Oregon!

A definite must-see on any LYS tour, and the fact that its in beautiful Bend is an added bonus! Great yarn selection - the owner definitely has an eye for quality and their knitted-up samples are gorgeous! Stopped in on a Saturday and the place was buzzing with several knitters working on the latest knit-along project. This wasnt one of those snooty type yarn stores. Great vibes here and I would highly recommend!

One of the best yarn shops around! They have so many fun fibers and colors to choose from as well as a variety of classes and events. Every Sayirday they even have a drop in help day so that you can solve any knitting or crocheting struggles you may have.I cant rate this place highly enough!

Very helpful staff and great selection of quality yarns

It was my first yarn store to go into. It was the worst experience. there were 12 to 15 people theyre just sitting around chatting and knitting and then the gal behind the counter. Not one word was spoken to me when I walked in. I walked both walls and a couple of other ladies had come in one left quickly and as I was leaving the lady finally came from behind the counter and ask the other lady that has come in after me if she needed help. I hope to try a different one in hops it is friendly.

I am an intermittent knitter and wanted to start again. All the gorgeous yarn at Fancywork was so inspiring! I fell in love with some indigo yarn but didnt know what to do with it. The folks at Fancywork Yarn Shop helped me find a beautiful pattern and I am plugging away enjoying every moment of it. They offer classes which I will need to take to progress to more challenging patterns, I need more beautiful yarn projects in my life!

I took a beginning crochet class at Fancyworks, something i have wanted to do but there never were any classes available nor anyone to come to with a problem. Fancywork is an absolutely delightful yarn shop! Elise has curated a wonderful selection of yarns — from indie dyers to “workhorse” yarns to a very unique local yarn from Naftaland Ranch. The shop is bright, open, and charmingly decorated.

Having recently moved to Bend, I was delighted to discover this wonderful yarn shop. The shop carries a wide variety of yarns - you are sure to find something wonderful to knit or crochet with - the problem is limiting your find to one choice. The shop is full of samples. The Waldorf School of Bend has provided many works of art displayed around the shop - many, many lovely felted items. The staff is very knowledgeable. The shining star of the show is the owner, Elyse (please excuse me if I have spelled your name wrong). Her shop is all about community. Thursday is the reserved time to come sit and knit or crochet, but anyone is welcome anytime to come sit in the cozy set furnishings and knit or crochet. I just discovered the yarn shops presence on Facebook, and I am sorry that it took me a month to discover this as there is a lot of interesting information stories posted, I am delighted to have found a wonderful knitting community here at Fancywork Yarn.

I have found an inclusive and welcoming knitting community where all gather to knit/crochet together, learn, share projects, laugh and have fun. That’s before mentioning their thoughtful choices of yarn and knitting supplies! Wow, such a great selection from all price points. They carry Brooklyn Tweed, Malibrigo, Farmers Daughter, Machette, Arranmore, local brands supporting local fiber farms, and SO many more. I have found the most gorgeous yarns for my projects. Finishing my third sweater now. 😎 Will be casting on a “Hipster” scarf with a gorgeous burgundy Swans Island yarn soon.Attended the “Bentley” launch with Marie Greene in the store Fall 2018. So nice to meet the author of the pattern. She was so gracious and was happy to be there and to even help after the class was over. Wow!! That’s how you grow a strong, healthy knitting community.The staff are knowledgeable and always happy to help with projects, yarn choices and to share their enthusiasm for yarn work. Appreciate their help and shared love of creating a welcoming, relaxed and fun environment.Check it out sometime soon!!
