I love hunting and fishing..gander mountain was so much better than gander outdoors..but it is what we have now..live bait..hit or miss with knowledgeable staff some are really good..others are just taking up space..most everyone is very friendly..one issue the good Sam card..its a discount card that gives price breaks to card members..I just want the best price without having to be a member..dont like my name going on a mailing list..just want to get my gear and get in the great outdoors
Research prices from before purchasing anything. They mark full retail or higher then offer to sell all kinds of discount programs and and other savings programs. You will end up paying more than if just purchased at another retailers regular price.
Their staff made it easy for my friend to feel comfortable using a crossbow this year for hunting. They gave him step by step instruction of how to load and shoot the crossbow along with letting him take some practice shots. Even gave suggestions of how far to be away when using the crossbow.
Newly updated store. Much nicer than when it was Gander Mountain. Prices are high, though. We went in there specifically looking for work boots for my husband and they didnt have the type we were looking for.
This is one of the old Gander Mountain stores that was closed last year but purchased by Camping World and reopened as Gander Outdoors. They did a nice job and it is an improvement. A big selection of fishing equipment and a really nice kayak section. I was even able to use my Good Sam card here for a discount.
Definitely do like how this place is compared to gander mountain, feels more roomy, the employees were helpful and answered many of my questions. The reason I give it 3 and not 5 stars is there AR rifle policy is 21 and not the state allowed age 18. Ridiculous when an outdoors and sporting goods store starts choking off my gun rights.
If youre looking for team sports, Gander isnt the place but if youre looking for outdoor sporting gear...this is definitely the place to be for Atlanta South.I grew up with Gander Mountain stores in Wisconsin and even then I remember they had everything.Sales associates could be a little more pro-active, though. Im not sure if theyre the kind of store that assumes you know what youre looking for but even still, if youre trying to sell knives or boots, youd want to show that by helping people..
Good clearance on scopes. Store is a bit empty and messy. Customer service is non existent. Can find some good deals though
This Gander will go down just like Gander Mountain did. I have not had a good experience in this store yet. I bought a shotgun there and it took forever for them to get the price correct. First time they charged more than advertised, then tried to correct it and still wrong, then forgot to take off my club savings. The same thing happened when I bought 4 scopes and a muzzleloader. Wrong price on the gun and scopes and again forgot to take off my club discount. The worst experience was when I called and asked if they had some powder and bullets for my muzzleloader. I live 45 minutes away. The manager said they had one box of powder left and assured me that he would hold them for me until I arrived 2 hours later. He also assured me that they had plenty of the bullets I was looking for. When I got there about two hours later, they had no bullets. The salesman said they had been sold out of them for days and someone must have sold the powder the manager assured me would be there for me. Thats an hour and half drive wasted after being lied to. I went to L&M Fleet and found all the products I needed at a better price with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I can hardly wait for them to open their firearms desk. I will no longer be going to Gander.
Wide range of products for all of your outdoor hobbies and activities. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful with any questions. Very relaxed shopping experience.
Huge selection of guns!!!! Whatever your looking for Im sure they have it. Also the guys that work in the gun department are very nice and well educated! Store is very clean. Also a great selection of fishing gear.
If you are in the market for a firearm, find Paul. His knowledge of firearms is immense and his level of customer service is both professional and friendly. He made the trip there worthwhile. I will definitely be back.
Pretty nice store. Has a wide variety of hunting stuff but could use a little better selection of fishing rods.
I visited this store for a swiss army knife for my 9 year old. Very helpful staff as we were browsing and looking around. Great variety of products to choose from. Clearance was clearly marked and accessible.
This store is much nicer than the old Gander Mountain. Newly painted, the floor much improved. The pricing is geat. Check it out.
Very impressed! I was expecting just a reopened Gander Mountain, but it is much better. Very extensive shooting sports section.
This store continues to be better every time I go in there. Well stocked and friendly service.
Im glad theyre closing. Let this be a lesson to all firearm businesses that attempt to take advantage of the goodwill nature of firearms enthusiasts by marking up 15%-20%. Never before I had stepped in Gander Mountain had I heard worse advice regarding firearms and all as an attempt to make a sale. Train your employees and respect your customers. Those are the keys to good business and it brings me a sick joy to see a bloated corporation reap their just deserts.
They are going out of bussines and can see why. The stuff was not helpful at all. I went there looking for a new handgun and had some questions and the employees were to busy talking to see if anyone needed help. After finally getting someone to help me they were no help at all with the simple questions i had.
Worst Gander Mountain Ive ever been to. The staff doesnt care, and some how, the manager cares even less.(EDIT) : Since the rebrand and remodel, this store has done a total 180! Great selection and helpful staff.
Store is clean, organized. I didnt get approached once for help, im ok with that but others dont like that. The coorporate yahoos that determine pricing are on crack! If anyone does any comparitive shopping that will become very obvious. Even with their good sam club discounts you still pay 10-40% more at Gander. Crazy! Now on the flip side, their store brand/rebrand stuff is reasonable. Typically good quality for your money. Thats why they get the 3rd star for me.
Went to check out clearance guns. Huge selection of course. Was with my husband who was talking to the gentleman behind the gun counter, the whole time. I was not talking because I was sick and barely had a voice. Guy behind the counter says to my husband You looking for you or both of you? Husband says Both of us, home defense. Guy says Maybe you should get a 20 gauge, wouldnt want her to shoot it once and get scared and not want to touch it again.....What? Sir, I was raised in the South. Ive shot more guns than my husband, and quite frankly, my thighs are stronger than my husbands entire body. Maybe he didnt MEAN to sound like a sexist cornhole, but he sure did. Many women in the South arent afraid of weapons, and if he had said it to me while I was capable of speaking, he wouldve heard it. Thanks for the concern, but no thanks.
Waitied 15 min while a gun sales associate talked with a friend. would have spent 750 dollars on a rifle i had already selected, however the associate who made eye contact but refused to acknowledge me decided he would rather hangout then do his job. several bad experiences with the gun salesman. this is the last one and i will no longer be shopping at this location due to their terrible customer service.
Helpful employees, I felt like they didnt have a very wide variety of rifles.
Great selection of sporting goods gear and a great selection of kayak accessories. Great super friendly staff!
Always greeted with a smile.. Chris Tangen was extra helpful
Staff is very friendly and helpful but everything is WAY overpriced just like it was when it was Gander Mountain
Great setup. Glad they actually read comments, unlike a lot of places.
A lot nicer than the old Gander Mountain. Very clean store and had a much improved gun section. I was actually super impressed with the AR parts they have there. You dont see Aero and Stike Industries around here all that often. The guy working the gun department knew his stuff. My major gripe with this place is that its super mega chainy. Like I was constantly asked to sign up for the Good Sam Club. Its not a bad deal, but I hate that kind of stuff. They also carry bikes and a a good selection of camping gear
Needs a bit of updating but the prices are very good, especially clearance sales
Going out of business. Prices marked up about 15% to then offer 20-60% off. Probably wouldnt have shopped here if store wasnt having a sale.
Service and assistance was fantastic. Very knowledgeable staff! At least in the firearms dept
Gander Mountain has a great selection of firearms, but an almost nonexistent gun parts selection (aside from the typical Magpul equipment). Customer service has been subpar on both of my visits to this location. The camping and fishing equipment seems to be the strong side of this particular store, with a huge selection and decent pricing.I usually buy this sort of stuff online, but sometimes I want equipment immediately. However, if Ive got to spend more and deal with shoddy customer service at a store with a limited selection in some areas, I might as well just wait on shipping.
Worst customer service in gun department that I have ever experienced. Was going to purchase a gun waited for 20 minutes at the gun counter for help while two associates stood on the other end . I finally walked over told them I wanted to look at a gun to purchase waited another 15 minutes before one of the associates said what could I help you with. As one of the posters on here stated they act like the customers our a burden. I might add they lost a customer and a 1000.00 sale. I might add I called to speak with a manager and waited for 15 minutes and no one came to the phone.
Going out of business sale. Bought a few items after checking online, received an ok deal. However seems like they inflated the prices in the store to make you feel like your getting a deal
They were Execellent, very helpful, very out standing, very good place to shop .
Great deals but only have less than 24 hours and they will be closed forever.
Awesome store they have a great gun selection. And the people working are always helpful and ready to assist you with anything you need.
Nice store wished they had more hunting clothes
Honestly cheaper than gander mountain was, way better organization, better systems too.
It is good. Great quality on clothing.
Decent variety, best part is John, Paul and Alex in the firearms department...they are very knowledgeable!!
Nothing new. Not impressed at all. Basically the same overpriced place it was before it was remodeled, they seem to have just reorganized the merchandise. Don’t waste your time here.
The gun specialist in the firearms department is completely inept at his job. My father was asking about where he can go to sight in muzzle loader, a simple question someone who works at a gun store should definitely be on top of. Well this guy first gives him the name of a range that has been closed down and converted into a private range South of Cass Lake. Then he says well the one on 89 isnt even open, I dont know if theyre ever going to open that thing... This is also totally false as well as they have had it open numerous times before deer season, there was even a big article about it, front page in the paper. Then when he doubts him saying its actually open, he says, well, you can always go out in the woods or to a gravel pit and sight it in...This too is false and actually extremely illegal during deer season. Please reprimand this employee or demote him, he was rude, inaccurate, and had terrible customer service, he only made eye contact and stopped fiddling with this gun he was trying to put back together to give a skeptical look at my father who is over 4x his age. Pretty bad representative face for a Gander Mountain. Perhaps he was having a bad day, but I have worked in customer service, you have to man-up and overcome. Today we went to a Gander Mountain in Duluth and had the polar opposite experience, very knowledgeable gun experts who told us everything we needed and more. At least screen your employees and have them knowledgeable about gun laws and ranges near by.
Well, my experience at the McDonough store was quite unique, I think. My dad ordered two deer stands online to be picked up at the store. While at the store shopping and seeing they were in stock, my brother went ahead and picked up the two stands. Not knowing he had picked up the stands, I went and picked them up when I got the e-mail saying they were there. It was only when I got to our storage area that I found two identical stands already there. When I figured out what happened, I went to the store the very next morning, to return the two extra stands. Upon explaining what happened, I dont think the staff even realized that 4 stands had been picked up. The lady I spoke with was grateful for the honesty, and took the stands, I assume to return to inventory....... So, with that I would say that management could implement some sort of confirmation of order/customer pick up procedure, for the benefit of the customer, as well as for the store, for loss prevention. Also, after looking at an item online, I called the store to verify inventory, and a store associate said he had one of the items left and would hold it for me. Upon going to that department and asking for the item, the manager was called to find it. After walking all over the store, she came back and sincerely apologized for the inconvenience, and handed me a card that would give me credit at the register for my troubles. Other than the deer stand deal, and waiting a few minutes for some help in the shoe department, my experience at your store was over all pretty good. Really glad yall opened the store in our community!!!!!.......by the way, the credit was right on time too - - I was in dire need of some boots, and really cant afford the boots I would like to have, so the boots on clearance wound up being almost exactly the same as the credit of $50 I was given. I am grateful for that!!!! :)
Very helpful and great deals. Highly recommend
Nice clean store but poor selection 0n boots
Miss the old Gander Mtn. And my dad had them spool a rod from them and they put WAY to much line on it when we were using it it broke! :(
They look like they are going out of business. Didn’t find anything, poor selection and expensive
Its no wonder why Gander is going out if business. They have been having a going out of business sale for over one month and still many of the prices on picked over limited inventory are still higher than Wal-Mart. Sad! Just go away already Gander.
Purchased a Glock 17 along with the warranty. I decided to use the one time free gun cleaning that comes with the extra warranty. I left it in the store, I was told it would be 24 to 48 hours before it would be ready. The time frame wasnt a problem, I couldnt pick it up for over a week anyway. When I finally we to pick it up I took the slide off in the parking lot and noticed it hadnt been cleaned. I walked inside and told them to verify if the gun had been cleaned. They said it hadnt and they apologized and took the gun to clean it. I told them I would be back later on to pick it up. I wasnt upset from this incident at all, things happen. The customer service was excellent. The one star is for the amount of oil they used in the cleaning. I first noticed a large drip collecting at the tip of the barrel, Glocks do not require so much oil! lve been to the range 3 times and there still oil coming from the trigger and the take down lever! I just hope this will not damage the pistol.
Ganders service, staff and competitiveness has been in decline overall imo for a few years although the Bemidji location is better than most.
Came in on a Monday morning to get my gun cleaned. There were three assoc helping other customers. No one acknowledge my presence. I waited patiently for 30 mins. One assoc finished helping his customer and just stood there. I said excuse me and he said he will be with me in a minute. He wiped off the counter and then came to help. I told him i wanted my gun cleaned and he said it would be 24 hrs. I waited 30 mins to hear that. This is the 2nd time i attempted to have my gun clean with pretty much the same results. The customer service SUCKS!!!! They had no problem taking my money when i purchased my gun.
Nice selection but didnt find waterskis.
The employees looked at me like I didnt belong and I felt unwelcome.
Had a great time here and superb staff
The sevice was horable we aked for a fishinv rod holder and she said she would call the person in the back ... she never did we had to go back up and ask for it then she finaly did
The mens bathroom was the filthiest that Ive ever seen in any business. The walls, toilet, sink, and floors looked like they hadnt been cleaned in LONG TIME.
Great selection of pretty much everything hunting and fishing.
Great store and customer service. Clean and quiet.
Going out of business. ..some of the mark downs were good...you only have until July 29th to catch the deals
A little pricey, but the staff was helpful.
Lot of younger workers who usually know what they are talking about, got a lot of good info about knifes and sharpeners. They usually all are very helpful as well.
It is no wonder that this place is going out of business. I wonder how many salmon rods and tackle they plan to sell in bemidji mn?
It is a shame. The store I went to was closing down.
It felt the same as if it was Gander Mountain. The layout of the store is a little different. But the prices are about the same
Very friends my dad and i bought 2 bows from there... they pretty much done everything for us except set our sights
I went to the store today with every intention of buying a few pairs of shoes/boots. I waited in the footwear section for 15 mins with no help while two female associates chit chatted at the customer service counter occasionally looking my way. I then went to the counter and politely asked them if I could get some help in footwear and they said they would get the person who was responsible for that area. 15 more mins go by, no help and when I went back to customer service and was ignored. I then went to firearms section to ask a gentleman if he could help me and in a very irritated manner said if you can give me just a min Ill call somebody who can help you out, hes busy with other customers. Being that I was one of two customers in the store, the other being the other person in the footwear section that was walking out because he couldnt get help, I found it hard to believe the yet to be found footwear associate was helping other customers. As I left the store to go spend almost 500$ somewhere else I called the store number and asked to speak to the store manger. At 17mins of being on hold, I hung up and decided that as Gander mountain may be a welcomed site to the McDonough area their customer service is severely lacking and Dicks sporting goods was more than willing to take my money and provide me with exceptional customer service.
Gander Mountain has a great supply of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear. Their prices on guns and ammo are at least 20 percent over market value though.
Nice store, but currently in process if closing.
Store is closing some decent deals limited selection
Very good help and good info on guns.
They are going out of business, but still have extremely high prices, which is why they are closing to begin with
Garbage out and Garbage in, still poor policies and products. Go to L&M instead.
Not a huge selection of items, also spendy.
Pretty disorganized and over priced
Too expensive. Not a great selection
Twice Ive visited the firearms counter and twice we were not served so twice Ive walked out and spent my money elsewhere. I will not be back.
Poor customer service at best. The employees act like youre a burden
Good place... But it is going out of business.
High prices but good selection
It is closing down. Can get some fair buys but check competitors prices.
Quick and they have what I want
Wonderful customer service, every single visit.
Great service in gun dept and clothing department
Gun delays are 8 day minimums. Use another company in the area for cheaper transfers, and only 3 day delays.
Product is way over priced for the quality. Every god damn thing.
Clean and brightly lit store with a huge selection of outdoor items including camping equipment, fishing gear, firearms, and more.
Can not rate. They are going out of business and will be closed for good on 7/23/2017. All items are discounted.
Great large new store, of you cant find it here they dont make it.
Smallest one I have been too. Now it is closing and the inventory is still as high priced as before.
Store is going out of business, discounts 10 to 40% off entire stock as of 5/6/17. Hurry while the stuff u want lasts.
Nice outdoor store!
Not as many clothes as gander mont.had but nice .
Nice Inventory. :)
Lots of interesting things to look at
Over rated, cant get a clerk to help. Very disappointting. Wont stop again..
Found some excellent bargains!!!
Most certainly overpriced and the staff isnt extremely helpful, but the stuff that you can purchase at Gander Mountain is hard to find elsewhere, namely gun accessories.
