All the folks at MobilityWorks were kind patient and helpful. They did an excellent job helping me with finding the correct vehicle that would suit the installation of the lift I needed. The installation went smoothly and I was taught to use the lift for my scooter. I have had the best driving and exploring experiences in the weeks since. I have a new optimism about living here and enjoying all that this part of world has to offer.

Tetro was awesome he walked me through the whole process and anytime I needed that extra help he went above and beyond from delivering my vehicle to my home to accommodate my work schedule to making sure every last detail was tended to. Highly recommend this place and Zach was the first person to help me over the phone and his great customer service drew me to them.

When my husband became disabled I didnt know where to turn. He had been in nursing home for several months but now he was coming home. Ride-Away was the answer to getting him home, to doctors and later on to give him quality of life with a handicap vehicle. We first rented with Ride-Away and then bought a new Chrysler Town and Country. It gave us every bell and whistle and we enjoyed going out to dinner and other events. My husband was able to drive up into the van and drive out of the van, but I did the driving and loved the car. Ride-Away was helpful in selecting the right car and teaching me all there was to know about the car. My husband passed away in April and I thank Ride-Away for giving my husband the quality of life he deserved. I highly recommend Ride-Away for your handicap needs.

My boyfriend is a disabled veteran who has been working with what used to be RideAway and is now MobilityWorks in Beltsville MD. Prior to MobilityWorks, service was adequate but on the slow side. Now that MobilityWorks has taken over, it has been poor service overall, as well as customer service. I dont think it is possible to give this place negative stars, but since the computer wont let me, just imagine it in your head. The bottom line is that every time my boyfriend has gone there for service, weeks after the vehicle has been promised, he is then held hostage at this place in his wheelchair waiting for hours on end to receive said vehicle. Service is very slow, nothing is ever ready when promised. MobilityWorks promises a level of quality adaptation for a vehicle. When he comes in to see the work that has been done, there are wires hanging all over the place and gigantic buttons which are hideous and complete unnecessary. When he clarified again, stating that he would like the work to be done in a in a tasteful way, not screaming IM HANDICAPPED way, in which wires and run through the car not hanging all over the place - they tell him oh thats too expensive. thats too much labor. we cant do that. Thankfully a warm hearted auto tech there was willing to finish the job on his own time, which was extremely generous considering how stingy this company is behaving. To top it all off, the adaptation took weeks beyond what was promised, with little communication regarding progress. Today, he is sitting there in his wheelchair. He was asked to be there at 7am to go through adjustments that were needed. We live over an hour away, and he had to leave incredibly early (think 5am) just to be able to make it there on time in the wonderful DC area traffic. Needless to say, they did not see him until 10am - 3 hours past his appointment time. Which was to only do some paperwork and mainly make him sit and wait. Right now, its 1pm and he is still sitting there in his wheelchair, waiting for them to finish something that involves screwing in four bolts. I cant write enough sentences to talk about how utterly horrible this level of service is. For a company who works with disabled individuals, this level of service is absolutely horrific. Ive also been a therapist for several years working with disabled individuals, and every single one of my patients has needed driving adaptations, which equates to hundreds of people. This is one of the worst service stories Ive heard in a very long time.MobilityWorks, shame on you.

I have been purchasing minivan wheelchair accessible vans from Ride-Away for over 20 years. That translates into about 15 van purchases for my family. I have been consistently impressed by the quality and caring of their service department and staff.

I bought a used 2009 Toyota Sienna minivan in August 2012. Ride-away did an excellent job of prepping it such as replacing worn carpeting, fixing torn upholstery, and replacing a chipped windshield. After two years the ramp system still works perfectly and I just love my Sienna.Unfortunately after having the van for just a few weeks the air conditioning started blowing hot air. I brought it in for service and was told the system needed to be recharged. I was concerned there was a leak but was assured this was not the case. I didnt want to turn the system on the following summer only to find it needed recharging after Ride-away’s warranty had expired, so I asked for something in writing so I could prove that this had been an issue from the beginning, but the request was refused. Spring of 2013 I had no AC. I spoke with the General Manager and was told they would recharge the system at no cost but that would be the last time. When I told them the system had obviously been leaking from the very beginning I was told it had been checked out and no leaks found.Spring of 2014 I have no AC. It worked for a few weeks and then started blowing hot air. The mechanic told me the system has a leak (no surprise) and the only way to fix it is to replace the entire line to the tune of $1200. They suggested if recharging it lasts through the season, and it did, then it might be better to recharge it for $115. I did. It lasted less than a month. The leak has gotten so bad the system no longer holds a charge. So now I am enduring summer in Washington, DC without AC while my disabled wife, whose body cannot regulate its temperature normally, suffers. I ordered the replacement AC line and was told it takes about three weeks to come in. We live on a very tight budget and $1200 is definitely out of range, fortunately some kind souls heard of our situation and generously sent us the amount (a loving God, the kindness of strangers). The most upsetting part of all this is that I have been told that this is a known problem with these vans. The AC line apparently is custom made by Braun and there is obviously something wrong if I am not the only one to have the same problem. When a manufacturer knowingly markets a defective product they’re required to repair or replace at no cost to the consumer; not the case here.As much as I like the product I cannot recommend Braun or Ride-away because they do not stand behind what they sell. I’ve been in the retail industry for eleven years and the keys to a good reputation are 1) Admit fault, 2) Fix the problem.I paid a lot of money for a van that had problems from the very beginning and yet Ride-away denied there was a problem. Be careful if you do business with this company, it could cost you a lot more than you expect.
