Horrible service. Reserved a truck 2 days prior and when I arrived to pick it up I was told it was ready and they had the key but couldn’t give it to me because some one had just gone online and reserved it. ????? Doesn’t even make since I strongly recommend taking your business somewhere else. Penske trucks by the airport is a far better choice and is actually managed in a professional manner.
If I could give a zero I would. Reserved a 6 x 12 covered trailer 10 days in advance at the suggestion of one of the staff. Gave them our Credit Card. We are supposed to pick up in 3 days. I get a phone call from the National Chain saying they do not have any trailers available on that day anymore and offer me an uncovered trailer instead. I say no. We are moving furniture then they offer me a covered trailer an hour to pick up an hour and a half away from my house.I call the U haul on Meridian Bellingham, they say unfortunately that trailer is no longer available but they can give me one half the size and there seems to be an error as it now shows on the National Register that we want the small trailer. I do not want the small trailer so what that tells me is the National side of this business changed our reservation to another size. We are driving 3 hours with this load, I do not want to make two trips. I call National back they tell me there is no trailer available this size at the other location only the little one.What a joke.
Reserved a storage unit online when I reserved my trailer for my move only to have it given to someone else because supposedly it was first come first serve. I guess a reservation isnt considered first. Luckily I found a storage unit with a much more professional establishment. Dont give this company your time and $$$.
I reserved a storage unit online with my truck reservation and lined everything up for my move and was told two days before I was set to move that they didn’t have the unit which I reserved and was listed as available. Due to limited time and options this cost me nearly 300$ to get a new unit through a different company. Absolutely garbage practice from a company and I’ll never be using them again.
Rented a Car hauler this Am for 6 hours. Performed flawlessly and the gentleman in the store was a very nice man. Will use this service again.
Avoid this place at all costs. Employees ignored us for a long time and finally they stopped laughing and joking when they realize that I was watching them in the garage - the owner came out and was incredibly unwelcoming unhelpful had no idea if they had the storage. Had huge issues with the website and customer service several hours went into this

This place isnt organized or have any kind of structure. Showed up to pick up car dolly and the cashier was rude and unwelcoming. She made me feel like It was a problem to help me. After getting rental contract done, it took 2hrs to fixed a running lite on the trailer. The next day when returned the same cashier was rude and didnt want to help me. I hope I never have to be desperate enough to give this place my business again.
Unfortunately service/experience at U-Haul can vary greatly from location to location but this location is great. There was a scheduling issue with my rental but these guys where accommodating and we were able to find a fair solution. Great service, will be using this location for any future rental needs.
Dropped off a trailer at this location after towing across two states and came in 15 minutes after they closed and anticipated just doing a self drop and using the app to complete my transaction. Despite them being closed the team was happy to unload the trailer and get me checked out and were friendly and courteous as well. Good job to the staff at this store for an excellent experience!!!
Great Experience. The gal that works there was very helpful and hooked up the trailer in a monsoon no problem. This was my first experience with U-Haul, and will not be my last.
Without getting into details, I would like to award 0 stars to Uhaul,(mostly because of the one we moved from in California) and 5 stars to the helpful folks behind the desk for being kind, understanding, and doing everything they could to get us sorted out and taken care of. Uhaul should be thankful to this team for keeping the ball bouncing for them after they dropped it! Thanks guys!

Left us scrambling to find another truck on moving day after reserving and paying over $800 more than a week prior, when we went to pick up we were told sorry, no trucks are available seriously, who does that?! Thankful Penske came through same day! Will never use U-Haul again and strongly advise you to look for a more reliable company!
I used this location once YEARS ago and my experience wasnt too bad except waiting around in line far too long. However, Ive read many reviews saying a truck was reserved but not available when they came to pick it up, and when I attempted to reserve one online just now it said there is $50 reservation guarantee and that your reservation is guaranteed or well give you $50! which clearly means reserved trucks are frequently not available when you show up to pick them up, which would be CATASTROPHIC for me on moving day, $50 could not possibly begin to make that situation any better. I will definitely be using Budget Trucks!
I was worried after reading bad reviews from multiple locations, but I think its mostly up to chance whether they will accidentally give your reservation away, or if its late arriving from the previous person... I had a really easy experience though, arriving at noon on a Saturday.

I reserved a tow hitch to have installed at this location online several days prior and it showed the part was in stock. They called me 10 minutes before my reservation to tell me they didnt have the part in stock then told me they didnt take it off their inventory list and wouldnt get another for 4-6 weeks. Dont order anything from them or have them for service. Theyre full of @#%
Had a really awesome experience at this location. Showed up in need of an enclosed trailer and spoke with Matt. He was super helpful, professional and patient. Answered all my questions and guided me through the process of getting the trailer hooked up.
The online system failed us! We reserved a truck and then when we got there it wasn’t reserved and we had to rebook one! Then the driveway was blocked when we drove out and we had to go out the back way. Then the parking brake had unclear directions. Such a horrible experience! My sister had to sit in the middle seat and the seat was so uncomfortable and dirty! So disappointing UHaul, do better.
Great experience, highly recommend! Made a booking in advance with Rachel over the phone, then met the owner Daniel when we returned our rental trailer and checked into our storage unit. No issues, great customer service. Both were very friendly, professional and quick with the paperwork. Storage unit is warm and SUPER clean. Convenient loading area with lots of carts available and a GIANT elevator to get stuff up to the 2nd floor. Looking forward to coming back next time :-)
If the online service is bad or you’re having issues with it, call in. Matty is super helpful and got all my reservations redone super quick.If you already made a reservation online, and it isn’t exactly what you wanted, just call in and skip the voice prompts by pressing 2 and someone will be able to help you out with it.
These guys are amazing. Drop off is easy, quick, and painless. The drop off Lane is nice and wide.
If I could give a lower rating I would! No one helped me with my hitch on the trailer, or lights worked at first until we got to Seattle and then they didn’t work anymore. No one would help us, not even road side assistance. I will NEVER do business with these guys again!
I called asking about prices, and the person on the other end asked for my credit card info to ensure a spot was held. When I politely declined and said I would call later because I’m just looking around at prices first, the guy on the other end of the line became passive aggressive and attempted to pressure me into giving my credit card info, so I hung up. Shady, and not a good way to get my business. U-hall should probably hire a new sales rep.
These morons should be put out of business. I made a reservation for a trailer 2 weeks before I was to pick it up. The day before they call me to say that its not there and that I should drive down to Anacortes or Stanwood and pick it up there.Thats 2 hours away from my house!!! Unacceptable!! Everyone do yourselves a favor and just hire a professional moving company, even if youre only going across town. Dealing with these Noble laureates and Rhodes Scholars reduced my life expectancy by months.Avoid!!!2 stars because Mark actually tried to help.
My experience:1. expensive2. manager always found at casino near here blowing employee money at silver reef.3. one day late on payment? huge fee.4. one week late? repossession.5. failure to log out every time when using the units? denied access next visit 24 hrs from next swipe.6. staff is a joke half the time and unresponsive.7. uses your email for spam email and constantly calls you if they have issues twice a day.
You can never get somebody on the phone at the actual location. Even the local number redirects you to some call center somewhere.....I had 1 question about product availability, ended up being transferred 3 times, and then it sounded like I was talking to somebody in her bathroom....
Ive had to use these guys a couple times now, and theyre very easy to work with! This last time I wanted to pick up my reserved truck a couple hours early, and while it wasnt available they hooked me up with a bigger one for the same price. Thanks!
Yeah this place is incompetent. Website says trailer is available for pickup, reservation is confirmed and then they call me thirty minutes before saying that no trailers are available in the county. Called them, waited on hold for 10 minutes, was told they were contacting a scheduler, but I got got re-answered by another staff member which means I just got put back on a general hold, and they werent actually looking things up. Told me to go to sedro wooley, lol. Other reviewers are correct. I specifically scheduled the trailer for 6:30pm because they were open later than most. Now I have to wait another day to get this vehicle transported and do an extra hour of driving, and I would have planned ahead had the website and company been upfront about current stock levels.
Trailer hitch installed. Was told it would take two hours and I would get a call. I waited at woods coffee for two hours. I walked back along the guide. Not fun. They had not even started the work.They did not inform me. I worry the work will be crummy. We’ll see.
This is a business that cant move fast enough to get out of its own way. Customer satisfaction is not even on the radar. Slow moving employees. Calling in is like painful. This is what happens when theres not much competition.
After driving through the country for 2 1/2 days with their largest truck and trailer I arrived at this station to return the truck. I entered and the guy looked at me and said outside without saying hello. I assumed he had a bad day. No problem. I followed him outside and then me he said you broke the chains. That is when I got upset. First of all, I did not hook up the trailer, the other U-Haul team did and even if I had broken the chains, a more gentle and friendly approach to telling me would have been appropriate. Then we went to the cabin and the guys said you need to clean the truck inside or I will charge you a cleaning fee I could not believe my ears! For one thing, the truck was not excessively soiled. It just had as much dirt in it as you would expect after a 1500 mile ride. I just had paid $2200 to U-Haul and this guy, in the rudest possible way demanded that I paid a cleaning fee. When I refused, he stepped close to me and aggressively gestured with his hand very close to my face. I felt threatened. Then I walked inside to talk to the owner about what had just happened. He looked at me, listened and replied nothing. He fiddled around with his computer screen and I addressed him again. Again, his reply was silent. It was as if I had spoken to a robot.What a welcome to Bellingham! This company should not be allowed to do business for Uhaul.
Moving while in the military is already stressful enough, but this place just made it that much more difficult. After returning the truck, I was charged $136 dollars. I called to ask what it was for and was given attitude by someone named Rachel about how I turned the truck with the gas WAY under what I was supposed to. I dropped it off with the exact amount that my contract said, but she said her computer wasnt working so sorry I cant help you, have a nice day. I was furious and headed up there to see if her computer was working then, and of course it was, and of course they made a mistake. I was eventually refunded, but if I hadnt driven an hour to this wretched place, I would have been scammed 136 dollars.Talk about some major added stress on an already stressful move.
Absolutely appalling customer service. There are plenty of other uhual locations that don’t scream at their customers. I can’t believe these people have jobs. Uhual made it right for me but I will never, ever get a rental at this location again. Highly advise you stay away from them.
We had a reservation for truck but I was at work. They stayed open and waited for me! Just a very few minutes, but awesome customer service! Ive used them a few times now and will continue.
I rented a truck last minute to move a few things. I ordered online and picked up the truck shortly after. It was ready for me when I got there. Did a quick walk around to ensure all the scratches and dents were noted, and took a look in the back to make sure it was clean. Filled up the truck with gas before returning it and dropped it off. The staff was fast and professional. Ive used many uhaul and penske places in my lifetime and Ive been fortunate to never have any real issues. This place was no different. I did not get charged any extra, nor did they try to hassle me about cleanliness or dents. Just pick up and drop off. Easy. Thanks!
We had some trouble with our trucks mileage and gas gauge, The manager Dan was very helpful and resolved our issue immediately. We will be using them again, great customer service
People are nice but really slow. We moved to three different associates during the process of renting a storage unit. Do not come here if you are in a hurry.
I called today to get an estimate for a trailer hitch and Beca, the gal that answered the phone, was really nice and easy to talk to. She offered their services promptly and she has a snse of humor and professional at the same time.What scares me are the reviews posted. I now is having a second thought about going there. This business should answer the reviews posted so customers would know what took place and not just read the negatives.Guess I will wait and call other places to see what they have to offer.Beca keep up the good work.This year I went to This U-haul and got my trailer hitch installed. The service was quick and done right.Everything was fine except for their waiting area. They need to fix it so it’ll be pleasant to the customers spending time and waiting to get the work done on their vehicle. They only have one table with high chairs and you have to share the table with a stranger or walk around the store until your vehicle is done.
Been here twice to rent 5x9 utility trailer with ramp for towing a motorcycle, these guys are great and I spend less than minutes here each time. I read other complaints people wrote; I think some people just like to complain.
I have worked with uhaul and know the structures and systems and I have never been more disappointed with a location. This is my 3rd time having issues with the Meridian location. The staff have treated me very poorly, to the point where i have filed specific complaints against staff (which i have never done any where else). They are quick to transfer calls to customer service making me wait when i know they can take two minutes to solve the issues i am having. I have worked for uhaul. I know exactly what they could have done. This is a terrible location with terrible staff.I highly recommend the Ferndale location. Great staff that treat you right. If possible avoid the meridian.

These folks missed the ethics class. Rented a 6x12 Van Trailer for a day to move my 93 yr old fixed income mother in to assisted living. Loaded belongings into the trailer and to our fault neglected to put a mattress cover on and ended up with debris on mattress. When return of trailer I later found and received an additional charge on my credit card for cleaning. We actually had swept it out. Contacted Ufail and no one can resolve and I now have to go to the store where rented to dispute. I recommend going to a small home town rental company. These kinds of folks give a once good company a bad name.
Busy on the Sunday we went, but they were staffed with helpful happy people, line was very quick.
We paid for Safe Move insurance and initially 24 hours for use of a 20 truck on 09/28/17 at 11:30(ish) A.M. When speaking with the U-Haul representative, we advised we would be paying with a different form of payment when returning the truck. The representative assured us that this was perfectly fine, and that the card used for the reservation is simply used initially as a hold, and that we could absolutely pay with a different form of payment when the truck was returned, as this is when the payment is processed. We then called the next morning on the 29th and requested an additional 24 hours. We were advised that this was fine, and that we would (ONLY!) be charged another $39.95 (plus mileage of course.)Upon returning the truck, we were surprised to learn that we were charged an additional $14 for the Safe Move insurance, AND the card used for the hold was in fact processed for the first day without our knowledge, betraying what we were told. Objecting to the additional $14, we were told that it was in our contract, and that it is automatically included if another day is added. In reviewing the fine print, this was not corroborated, nor could the representative locate the verbiage stating this detail. Inquiring about the charge to the credit card used for the reservation, we were told thats just how it works, also betraying what we were told. The manager, Dan, also could not locate the verbiage stating the additional automatic inclusion of another insurance fee. Regarding the charge for the first day, Dan and his staff indicated that each day is charged separately. This too, was not able to be substantiated by any documentation.We also discovered an additional $60 mystery charge to the credit card used as a hold for the first day. Dan advised its probably just a hold for the second day.Dan and his staff refused to make any of this right, by way of crediting the additional $14 charge, or by voiding the first day charge to allow us to pay with an alternate payment method, despite numerous pleas (including thorough explanations regarding timelines, assurances, and conversations,) showing absolutely zero interest in rectifying any aspect of the situation. This was all met by only deliberately and firmly cementing an unpleasant customer experience. Dan advised our only recourse was to file a customer objection, which he apparently (or supposedly) sent in via his terminal. Dan also indicated that the person we spoke with, (that advised we would only incur another $39.95 for another day plus mileage,) was at a U-Haul call center, and not one of his employees. However, the first representative we spoke with at the register when returning the truck, seemed to suspiciously have a very similar voice to whom we spoke with on the phone. This could very likely be a coincidence, but unfortunately all trust had been eroded by this point.We will need to review further, but it appears we may have been overcharged for mileage as well. Once for the first days hold which included the initial estimated mileage, followed by possibly the entirety of mileage when returning the truck.Overall, this was an incredibly dissatisfying experience while incredibly surprising considering this is a corporate franchise location (Dan advised this.) Were quite dismayed that zero effort was made to even attempt to ensure a positive experience, or that (supposedly, yet we were told,) even a manager has no ability to reverse, void, or modify any line item in a transaction. Clearly, no employee at this location has a capacity for, or understanding of, the old ethos of the customer is always right, even to the most miniscule degree.Apologies if Im misremembering the managers name. Services rendered: Hitch installationLet me start of by saying that this location is understaffed. As a result, wait times and customer service suffer. Many of my attempts to address the following issue have been routed through the call center, which has no link to the physical location outside of an unreliable and inaccurate computer network.I scheduled a hitch installation for my vehicle on Wednesday, July 24th. Upon arriving at the location, I was told that the hitch was backordered and I would have to be rescheduled for a later date. Ruth, who was working at the front desk, promised a $50 credit to the account for the inconvenience.Fast forward to that weekend. The hitch install took 4 hours and 15 minutes(I was told it would take 1.5 - 2 hours). Ruth again assured me that a $50 credit would be put back on my account.It has been nearly two weeks since that day. The credit was never placed on my account. I have attempted to contact the Bellingham office multiple times since then, but as anyone who tries to call the office knows, you almost always are routed to the corporate call center, who places you in an endless loop of transfers. What little I have gathered from the call center agents is this: the account has been closed, the notice on the account for the $50 credit is gone, and the multiple notifications sent by call center staff to the Bellingham office have gone unanswered past their required 5 business day reply timeline.I am not including all the issues I have experienced during this, just the highlights. I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not use this location.
They made me drive to sedro wooly to pick up a truck although I made the reservation 3 weeks in advance. When I made the reservation they told me that I might pick up at a different branch..but in Bellingham....not in Sedro wooly. No empathy... No apology...+ I was not told till the day before my move. Not recommended place at all.
Very slow canceled installation dates and added costs. time pick up was off by 3 hrs. After working on it for 3 hrs. They left tools in the vehicle and when they were done the vehicle made noise. found out that the muffler was rubbing on the hitch.DO NOT USE DO NOT USE DO NOT USE DO NOT USE
My dad reserved a truck in Ferndale, was told they didnt have it so had to drive down here. These guys failed to mention Uhauls stated policy of $50 credit for a missing truck! And they charged him for the extra mileage! With a bad attitude to boot.WORK ON COMMISSIONS = NOT HONEST!

They always have whatever I need for vehicles, boxes or packing supplies, but the parking situation is challenging, and it always seems to take a long time to complete a transaction and get on the road.
I have been here 3 times trying to rent a trailer. Every time they have some new reason I can’t pull a trailer. Disorganized, terrible customer service, and overall recieves no recommendation from me.
So you know your not supposed to talk to your friend who is in line behind me while your helping me. Incredibly rude. Employees dont even have faith in the business.

Dont know even where to start I got a U-Haul in a storage unit first they made me go check out the storage unit they gave me they me somebody elses storage unit I had to go back and get another storage unit and also when I went to go check the truck out theres a lot of scratches that were checked and the gas and mileage was off the mileage is off by 20 miles in their favor
