Really liked the entire staff. Very low key and friendly. I went there for a second opinion on getting my cataracts removed,. Dr. Kim was upfront and honest and didn’t try to push surgery; if anything, he did just the opposite. I felt pressured at the last place I went and Dr. Kim was a breath of fresh air. Will definitely go here from now on.

The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The patient coordinators, receptionist, nurses etc.. were very personable. Dr. Eklhassi performed my surgery and Dr. Kim did some post op. Both doctors are very knowledgeable. Dr. Eklhassi is a highly skilled surgeon he was also very compassionate, patient and took the time to thoroughly explain things before and after surgery. I am an anxious person so I had TONS of questions and he never made me feel like a burden for asking them. Dr. Kim is more to the point but that is just his personality. He is very professional. I would recommend both of them to anyone considering eye surgery. They truly care about their patients.

They were wonderful to me. Although they could not accommodate my needs in the time frame I needed, they did try.

Love the new place, but am nostalgic for the old place as I had been going there for 60+ years. Nice to have the optical shop in the building.Dr. Kim was patient with me as usual as I tend to not follow the no blinking rule when he asks.Great staff!

This was good experience. I, too, saw Dr Ekhlassi and was impressed by his manner. My wife had seen him earlier and was impressed as well. He exceeded my expectations. I look forward to my appointment with him next year. The support staff seem to work well with him. A GOOD TEAM!

I had a wonderful experience with their new doctor, Ekhlassi I think it is. He was very patient with me and explained everything he was doing. He had great manners, very polite. I would recommend seeing him if youre looking for a new eye doctor.

I had cataract surgery some years ago in both eyes and my wife more recently. It was a little more complicated for both of us because we both had the non surgical laser treatment in the past. We recommend Dr Kim without reservation for both the surgery and the follow up care.

I would give him NO Star if I could. Im not one to leave a bad review unless something truly terrible occurs. With that being said, Dr. Kim was my fathers Doctor; my father has glaucoma in both eyes and cataracts in one eye. Dr. Kims was very insistent about my dad getting cataract surgery, so his office scheduled my dad for the surgery, I flew home and took off work to take care of my dad. We showed up the day of the surgery 30 minutes early where we were informed that my father’s surgery was canceled to our shock and dismay. I called Dr. Kims office for an explanation for the unceremonious cancellation, the gentleman I spoke with said the surgery had been cancelled due to the fact that my father was last seen by Mr. Kim in early December and that was too many months between the surgery(which was in mid March) and the last office visit. I asked why my dad was not informed of this when they scheduled his surgery and why we never received a phone call nor a voicemail telling us the surgery was canceled, the man told me that someone from Dr. Kims office had called my dad that day. We NEVER received that voicemail and did not have any missed call from Dr. Kims office. Regardless if Dr. Kims office called us on the surgery day (which they did not) that is unacceptable. Both the man I spoke with and the office manager admitted this scheduling error was their fault and should have been caught much earlier.To make matters worse, when I finally talked to Dr. Kim the next day he admitted to me he didnt look at my dad’s chart until 11 pm the night before him surgery. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The next day after the supposed surgery day, Dr. Kim examined my dad and he concluded that he doesnt think my dad needs cataract surgery after all. WHAT!!!!! How do you go from needing cataract surgery to not needing the surgery. HUGE RED FLAGDr. Kim was not apologetic at all, he acted like it was not a big deal to cancel a surgery last minute. I explain to him that I had to take time off work and fly here for the surgery to take care of my dad, but he couldnt have cared less. I explained that due to his and his office error it costed me almost $1,000 in travel and lost wages. I wrote Dr. Kim and his office a letter giving a detail account of everything that happened and how much their mistake cost me in travel expense and lost wages. I received a letter back saying they refuse to reimburse me for anything.I will never let my father go to this doctor ever again. I have already found my dad a new doctor.I chose to wait to write this review to give Dr. Kim the opportunity to make things right, he chose not to.

The office rarely answers the phone. Messages are returned after 24 and sometimes 36 hours. One phone call was never returned.

New office is nice. You need an automated door for your wheel chair patients

Every time we come here on time it’s over an hour wait for a scheduled appointment.

I was looking for a new opthalmologist after, finally, being fed up with who I had been seeing and who has since retired anyway. I had heard the good reputation of Dr Thornburg and decided to try her at good old Dr Hodges clinic. However, I was pawned off to Dr Kim. I was thoroughly disappointed by his lack of personality. I need a medical professional who has interest in me as a person and respects my input into my care. I felt none of that. He may know his trade, but most veterinarians treat their patients with more care and respect.

Dr Kim was on call when I came into the ER with a very nasty jagged and completely vertically torn eyelid. He is a master of his trade. The cut required stitching both underneath and on the top of my eyelid. He paitiently answered my questions and explained what he was doing throughout the entire procedure. He did an amazing job!!

Just like every clinic in Bellingham, this clinic was running late. I waited 40 minutes after my appointment to be seen. The first woman who came in recorded the incorrect information about my eyes. The doctor was rude any did not take the time to read the doctor notes from my first visit; he ended up asking me all the same questions that wouldve been answered by a simple glance. I literally had to tell him to read the notes. Do not go here, very unprofessional and not courteous to their patients at all.

Relatively friendly customer service, however they struggle to get you into your appointment in a reasonable time frame. Today was the worst offence, I waited over an hour and still wasnt seen.

Dr.Kim was great, listened to my concerns, fixed my cataracts! I highly recommend him!

Ive been here three times with appointments . 90 minutes until I saw the doctor. They know how to make the appointment, just not how to keep the appointment. Never going back again.
