One of the better book stores Ive been to, absolutely worth the trip. Could spend hours in here poking around at their selection and genres. Staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and more than willing to order books if they didnt have them. Great scifi and fantasy selection, open seating for their cafe, but no publicly accessible restrooms at the time of this review. Theres a gift shop as well too if the three stories of books didnt have enough to see. Will come again.

You could spend hours and hours in the store. They have new and used books, a very cute gift shop, and many trinkets to browse. They are a bit pricey, but they definitely take care of the place. All over, you will find recommendations from the staff. Its very nice. I have never seen the cafe upstairs open, but they have one. I really like this place and its a fun place to take your family when they come to visit

There is always something to be found at Village Books. Great “book store” atmosphere with pleasant quiet nooks to browse or read, well laid out sections based on genre, and an always interesting shelf of staff picks and reviews which is a great resource if you aren’t sure what to read next.

Used books are very expensive here. The variety of books is good. The associate can tell you if they have any book in stock or can order the books they dont have, though I guess in our day and age anyone can order a book. This isa very cute multi-story shop with stairs or an elevator to take you up and down.

I lived in Bellingham off and on for years. This place is one of the gems of the area. Its more than a private bookstore, its a community-loved business. Will you find what you want? Maybe, maybe not. But youll come across stuff you werent looking for. (this isnt b&n or Amazon). Theres a terrific Cafe upstairs and Paper Dreams next door.Since its been years since I had visited last, I remember Colophon Cafe being next door with the ice cream parlor upstairs, but thats changed a bit (which is a bummer). Theres a lovely plaza outside to chill out in after you get a snack and /or your new reading material. Fairhaven is a destination in itself and Village Books is the place to stop by at.

I have officially severed Amazon and since I now have a 2021 goal of reading a book a week, I was thinking perusing a book store was in order ... Plus Im a postcrosser and am always on the hunt for new and unique postcards. On the rainiest of rainy days, and whim, I set forth northward 110 miles (I live in Kent) to revisit this bookstore which I havent been to in over 10 years. It did not disappoint! I found a book on my list, and a few more that looked liketreasured reads. Oh what joy!!P.S. I joined their rewards club and looking forward to buying, over the course of the year, many more books.

Possibly my favorite book store of all time. The poetry section is unmatched. The store is exactly the right size: large enough that they have a great selection, but not as overwhelming as a place like Powells in Portland. Charm coming out of their ears. If youre a book lover, this is a dont miss when youre in the area.

I went here today for the first time. It was lovely. A great selection and friendly staff. Im a mom with a toddler and my son needed a diaper change while we were shopping. They allowed me to use the changing table even though the bathrooms were closed due to COVID. It can be very tough to travel with a young child and this act of kindness allowed me (and my son) to enjoy the rest of our shopping experience peacefully. I purchased some gifts at the store and Ill definitely be back in the future! Thank you!

Absolutely the best bookstore ever. I have really been on an anti Amazon kick and this is my go to book shop. They have so much it’s so easy to get what you want. If they don’t have it ordering through them is super fast. It has become a great joy to spend a few extra dollars on a book to help keep a local shop alive! I really hope my children and grandchildren will be able to go to brick and mortar book stores and buy paper books as it is one of my favorite things to do!

This extraordinary bookstore is the kind of place you go when youre not in a hurry. When you have time to meander and enjoy the warm atmosphere only a bookstore can offer. There are multiple levels and each level provides unique and wonderful exploration opportunities. In addition to new books, there are used and discount titles, puzzles and games. There is something here for everyone and no visit to Fairhaven is complete without a visit to this marvelous bookstore!

The bookstore is lovely, with bright and vibrant Knick knacks lining the bookshelves to accent the books themselves. OK I have to confess that the typical reason I enter the book store is to head upstairs for a meal at Evolve, but I almost always take a few minutes to peruse the books and buy one every now and then. As a new resident of the the PNW I bought the Sibley guide to western birds, for example. I like the layout of the store, the selection, and the staff are always helpful and friendly. Their non-book items are also interesting and fun. Love you Village Books!

This is one of my favorite places in Bellingham and my favorite bookstore to visit. They promote a lot of books written by local authors and have a wide variety of genres. The store is clean and well-organized and dogs are allowed inside. Staff are friendly and helpful. The Paper Dreams is located right next door and can be entered through this one. I highly reccomend it here for bookworms or people just looking for somewhere to go. Masks are required at this time and the amount of people let in are regulated. Online orders and curbside pickups are available.

Village Books, and the attached gift shop, are the two stores your expect in an old, brick building... in an idyllic sort of way. We were there in the middle of fall with two kiddos (5 and 9.5), and there was something for each of us in this well-laid out store. There are plenty of nooks and crannies for reading in, a great little café, and a variety of gift items.
