Green Light Bicycle Shop located in Belchertown Ma, is a very high quality, reasonably priced, very fast turn around, veteran owned, establishment.I had my bicycle repaired at Green Light on the same day, with less than one hours notice from my initial call of help to the owner— so this was important to me since all of the other bike repair shops in the Springfield Mass area told me that my bike had to be dropped off and that there was a 2+ week wait time for just a diagnostic quote and potentially more time for the actual repair to be made.The owner of Green Light Bike Shop is very pleasant and provided a very reasonably priced bike repair service to me .I sincerely and HIGHLY recommend Green Light Bike Shop for all of your bicycle repair needs and if you are in Springfield Mass, you definitely will not regret making the scenic 20 minute drive to Belchertown .

Instead of waiting days at another area shop I was in and out with 2 bikes in less than an hour. Didn’t try to sell me and definitely didn’t overcharge. I gave an extra $10 for the 0 hassle and quick service. I didn’t realize but he also has quality used bikes inside for sale. I almost grabbed one but I only have a rack for 2 bikes. I’ll definitely be back with any future bicycle needs.

I went there thinking I was going to leave my bike for a few days. I needed tires and a small tuneup. Sean got right to it and I was in and out of there in less than a half hour with some good conversation. He also gave me some needed instructions after I forget how the gears worked

We brought in two bikes for what we hoped were minor repairs, and assumed we’d have to leave them for a week or two. I just wanted to say that I was so happy to find out that the green light bicycle shop in Belchertown was open my husband is an essential worker and in the nice weather rides his bike to work he got a flat tire last night and I was really worried that I wouldnt be able to find out Bike Shop open. Owner fixed my way out -of- true, rear wheel, adjusted my brakes, crimped my rear brake cable end and tightened this and that in about twenty minutes. Service charge should have been higher IMO.The guy knows bikes !

I purchased a bike off the owner about a week ago, and I couldn’t be any happier. Traded my old trek in for a newer bike. Sean (owner) gave me more than I had expected for the trade in and allowed me to swap out my medal pedals. He took care of everything right there on the spot. What amazing service!!!! I was treated with a great deal of respect and was very impressed with his knowledge. After this I then shopped a little more and saw a nice rechargeable kryptonight flashlight and he gave me a good price on it. Im writing to bolster my earlier post. In the time since I first wrote I bought a second kids bike through Sean and now both my sons have bikes that they absolutely love. In addition to guidance on bike purchases, Sean also helped me pick out a great rack for my car. Sean is always very quick to respond when repairs are needed, and the prices he charges are always less than I would have guessed they would be. Not only that but Ive never once had an issue with a repair or change that was made. I asked at the shop and was given a couple brands to check out. Found the bike we wanted, ordered it through the shop, and they assembled it. I also had my bike looked over and its running like new as well. Great place!

I have been looking for a bike for a good time. I recently found a Fuji Espree that needed a good sprucing up. I brought it down to Shawn and he did an spectacular job! It looks absolutely fantastic. You may notice that we all know the owners name, Shawn. This is your first hint at the quality of service that you will revive at Green Light Bicycle Shop. I was touring and dumped my bike, but found the shop and Shawn got me back on the road even though it was closed. While he offered good solutions and fixed my bike, he taught me about how to fix it myself as well as use his tools to jury rig a temporary fix to get home. Great service at a fine price with some extra parts to boot, Shawn really just wants us to enjoy riding.

The bikes felt so much smoother after their trip to Green Light. We had to take one of them back because of worn brake pads, and within ten minutes of walking in it was all done and Id learned more about bikes than Id ever was able to figure out before.The owner is very easy to work with and very accommodating! Sean the owner has fixed 4 of my bikes. He explains what needs to be done and describes how to get the most out of our bike experience. I brought two of my bikes here from Boston and two from Ware. I spend a lot of time on my bike both riding to work and for leisure. Sean made sure the bikes are safe and ride like I am on a cloud. HANDS DOWN the best shop Ive been to yet. Upon my first visit Sean ( owner and Tech) was very welcoming and open to any and every question i had to ask him. Sean gave me 20 minutes of his time to explain all of his bikes for sale, what they are intended for and which would be the best fit for me. Overall what sold me on buying a bicycle from Green Light was Seans obvious passion, work ethic and pride in what he does. I am now a proud owner of a completely refurbished Bridgestone Rb-2 and couldnt be happier with its looks and performance.

I stopped by Green Light Bicycle Shop only to find it out was closed and not open until 11am. I Called Shawn at 9am to see if I could leave my bike out in front to get it serviced as soon as possible because I am a regular commuter to work using it. Shawn immediately answered and said, I can be there in 10 minutes to help you out. He got there in less then 10 minutes ( probably more like 5) and had my bike fixed in 15 minutes on the spot. 5-star service. The price for quality was lower than some shops in a neighboring town. The owner happily accommodated some preferred modifications to the bike, including moving some hardware over from my existing bike. Awesome bike shop. I had a mechanical problem (fraying rear shifter cable) during a ride, and managed to make it to Green Light. The owner was super helpful- I wanted to do the repair myself because I had never worked with integrated cable routing before, and he let me use his stand and all of his tools to do the repair, and then walked me through it. He also answered a ton of questions I had about carbon frames and various bike parts, offered us food and water, and let the people I was riding with lounge around in the shop while I did the repair. We chatted a lot about bikes, and I learned a ton in my hour there. Amazing service and a pleasure to talk to, will definitely stop by again if Im in the area.

I was very please with the service Sean provided. He tuned up my bike at a fair price and he even threw in an under the seat bag for me.. It was nice to bring my bike only 1 mile from where I live. Shawn is a miracle worker. He lovingly restored my 1981 Univega road bike that had been rusting in my basement for the past 12 years after shipping in pieces from Chicago. Terrible. I went there for the first time just looking to get a rim fixed or replaced. I was being friendly with a dog on the property (I am a huge dog lover and always act appropriately towards all dogs) when the dog snapped and bit me. Yes, bit me. Needless to say, I was furious. First of all, this is a business and pets and animals probably shouldnt be allowed out front, ESPECIALLY if the dog has aggression issues and bites people. What if I was a little kid? Also I feel he may be overpriced. I went to the bike shop in Granby to get what I needed and the guy was nice and gave me a better price. Please dont give this man your business.

I took my Trek 1000 road bike in thinking Id like to upgrade the drive train. Ive been to other bike shops and have been told it would just be cheaper to bike a new bike, so then Im looking to spend $1,500-$2,000. Sean did an excellent job working with what I wanted, the parts he had and his expertise to update my bike for 1/4 of the cost of a new bike. My guess, other bike shops are not willing to put in the time and work to update my bike into what I wanted.Sean is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about what he does, he is also honest about what to expect for the results. My road bike now rides just as smooth and quiet as it did 8 years ago, and now it has the drivetrain Ive been looking for the past 4 years.I hands down would trust Sean at Green Light Bicyles with any of my bikes for maintenance and upgrades. Sean is an excellent craftsman and bike mechanic.

Just passing through Belchertown on a long trip north.My son had really bumped his back wheel out of true on his last ride.He has a nice cyclocross bike by Felt. I thought the wheel might even have been totally trashed. Stopped in to Green Light on a tip and not only was he able to fix it--but he got it done in about 10 minutes while we waited and did a first class job. Very nice and knowledgeable guy. I only wish I lived in the area so I could go to such a great shop all the time. Loved Lance the dog assistant too!

I was in the middle of a long ride when I lost 2 chainring bolts. I was able to limp to Green Light Bicycle shop where the owner was able to fix my bike very quickly, and inform me that I had originally installed the wrong type of bolts for the type of chainring that I have. I was able to finish the ride with zero mechanical trouble.Green Light Bicycle Shop literally saved the day.

I cant say enough about Shawn and this shop. He set me up with an incredibly reliable bike for a tour to Chicago, which I was able to complete over the following 16 days nearly without incident. He taught me a number of things about bike maintenance, bike features, touring/racing bikes, and reliability. As a fellow bike tourist with many years experience, he helped me on my journey, sheltered, and fed me 2 meals.Some background: I had just embarked 1 day prior on a bike tour from Boston to Chicago. I ran into Shawn on the rail trail by Amherst at around 7:30 PM. It was raining and I had a helluva day replacing a wheel which had warped, and changing 2 flats. Shawn identified me as a tourist, introduced himself, and offered to put me up for the night.What followed was a tour-defining sequence of events in which Shawn transferred over all the parts from my bike to an upgraded touring frame. At first I was tentative because I had only just met the guy, but as he explained it I realized how little preparation I had put into my equipment for the trip, and how much there was to be gained from what he taught me and what he swapped over.In short, I was doing it all wrong, and Shawn helped me right that. I am a 63, 225 pound guy, and had been riding a 55 cm Trek 400 frame with only a rear rack and panniers. The weight on the back of the bike was what had caused the wheel to warp as well as the flats. He swapped everything he could over to a 58 cm Raleigh 502 frame, and switched my 32 spoke double walled aluminum wheels for 36 and 40 spoke rear and front double-walled aluminum wheels, respectively. He explained each part as we switched it over, including how my shifters worked, how to wrap the handlebar, how the front and rear derailleurs worked, and even pointing out to me that my front wheel on the old bike had been rubbing against the rain-guard installed just prior to the journey.What I find to be incredible, besides that he was willing to go to the 2.5 hour effort of switching everything over as well as explain things to a nooby like me, was that none of this had ever come up at either bike shop I visited prior to the trip. At other shops, I bought a rear rack with no explanation that I would need a front one as well for all the weight I carried, I bought a longer stem with no explanation that what I really needed was a larger frame, and I bought the rain-guard trusting that they would faithfully install it - they did not and what resulted was more effort on my part to get my bike across the state. The fact of the matter is that these other shops dont care about their customers the way Shawn does, they are not as resourceful, and they simply dont have his experience.I would recommend Green Light Bicycle to anyone who is serious about their bike and their service. With Shawn, every technical discussion is clear, the price is fair, and the benefit is astounding. I could not have made it to Chicago without you, Shawn!

My bicycle was making some wierd noises from the drivetrain so I decieded to get it fixed. I looked up some local bike shop around and found Green Light Bicycle Shop and started to read some reviews. I saw a few nasty comments left by some but majority of them were positive. I brought my bike to the shop and was greeted by a friendly dog at first. As I walked in the door I noticed a few people and was excepted with a pleasnt, friendly smile and warm welcoming. I asked if I could bring the bike into his(Sean) place and he smiled and said yes lets take a look at it on the spot. I explained about the problem and Sean took his time and placed my bike on his working station right there and got it going. He walked me through about what every component function was and what failed. He offered me a few viariaty (didnt pressure me to spend top dollar but was more concern about getting me back on the road safely in a prompt efficient manner) and I selected the one that worked best for me. He offered to installed it and I excepted(could have gave me the part and the boot) It was like majic watching Sean do his thing. When it comes to bikes he knows his stuff! He got me up and running like it was nothing! He asked me to take it for a test drive a few times and come back if anything was wrong, and fixed/adjusted it until I was satisfied :) after thats all said and done I was ready to check out... oops I forgot my money! ... hahaha, luckily Sean trusted me and let me ride my bike back to retrieve the payment(trust goes a long way!) I soon returned in about 10-15 minuets and we squared away. He is a wonderful guy, honest, professional, friendly and reasonable which we dont see a lot in the business industry. He takes his time with you and treats you as a human/friend. We should all support local business and not major corporations. We can pay for a FAMILY MEAL vs. paying a CEO for his 10th yacht(figure of speech, who knows how many) who could care less who we are/trust. Thank you SeanSincerelySunny

Sean Donovan at Green Light Bicycle Shop is officially the new Bike Whisperer in the Valley for my money. Hes just amazing!!!! Took on a true labor of love for me & reassembled & restored my husbands vintage UNIVEGA 10, cerca 1976, 10-speed that had been sitting on cardboard in pieces for 10 years in our basement after a move from Chicago. Did it as a surprise for my husband and he was over the moon!!! Every piece was there...I just didnt know what to do with them! Sean rebuilt the brakes, re-ran all the cables, replaced the tires, re-greased the headset, re-gripped the bike, just has that baby hummin now & ready for the road....all for a pittance of $150 for all the time & love he put into it.
