I called today to ask about a serialized p320 fire control unit. This is a new thing that Sig is offering it is not considered a firearm under Massachusetts law.It is 100% legal to sell. However the owner of the store has decided he wants to create gun control laws for his own store - even though selling this item does not violate Massachusetts law in any way.He said “well they might ban them in the future”.Logic clearly is not the owners strong suit or he would realize that he has already banned them himself…..
I have made it a point to set foot in basically every gun store in MA. Ive purchased guns from damn near one of them too. Ive purchased a Sig210 target and a Henry Big Boy from these guys over three experiences spanning about 2 months precovid. One experience was great, one was acceptable, the other (which happens to be the third) was god awful where I was told that the counter was only for buying customers. There wasnt even anybody in the shop at the time.
Very disappointing trip to R&R today... Stopped by willing to spend some money. I have already purchased 2 firearms from this establishment and both times were met with sub-par customer service, however it was fine and the transaction went well.Today, popped in to potentially purchase a rifle and was met with the you need a muzzle to shop here... I responded with I do not wear masks, and never will... I am here to spend at least $1000 and if your willing to turn away that amount of money because I dont have a piece of cloth over my face, then that says a lot about what you stand for.The owner then responded with Thats okay, we dont need the money Very interesting business model...I will for sure never ever, ever spend another dollar inside this establishment and to any of my Patriot friends who ask for recommendations will absolutely not hear about R&R Sport Shop. You all should be extremely ashamed & embarrassed.
Selection is minimal and even for a mom and pop shop, price gouging is absurd. Bottom line is the snarky, rude and frankly intimidating old timers that run the place. Unless you enjoy being ignored or laughed at for using improper vernacular- ask no questions and pay in cash.
Extremely judgemental and rude. No help with info just wanna talk down to you. I say thank you and they look at me like I have four heads and go back to their conversations to themselves. . Dont recommend this shop. Prices are jacked . All a bunch of rude old men that never got taught respect. Unless you wanna be disrespected or bashed on by the people of this store I highly recommend never walk into this place. Especially with your kids . Not kid friendly
Great shop with large selection. Friendly helpful staff. I have been doing business with them for decades. Never a bad experience.
I liked dealing with jim, thats it. I know how to shoot and dont need A man telling me Im doing it wrong. Jim was respectful
Have been going to R&R regularly for a few years. Definitely took some time for them to warm up to me, if not just recognize me amongst all their customers. I disagree with a lot of the hate on here for them, though. If you go in there with a mild attitude and a healthy love for outdoor sport, you’ll get treated well. Also yes they do value regular customers but certainly not less than other customers in the store. I also recommend engaging them with what they’re doing hunting/fishing-wise rather than asking for too many tips and just talking about your outing. As an angler they have time and again kept me actively abreast of inventory while shopping, carry a small but industry standard selection, and contrary to popular belief (esp. around Granby) provide excellent quality bait. They’ve also spoken with me at length about various local patterns and are extremely knowledgeable about the area. Also as someone who’s looking to get into both firearms and hunting, can honestly say their selection seems top drawer. Dude in the archery shop is a total sweetheart too. Don’t listen to the hate, go to R&R next time you need anything fishing or hunting.
I try to avoid these people. They are very rude and condescending every time I go in there. Their prices are actually quite high compared to other shops in the area. Go somewhere else
Quick and to the point, no small talk. Prices are excellent
Wonderful person helped me in the bow an arrow place here
They are a outstanding group of men working there with some kind of knowledge some overwhelming some don’t but overall they have everything that you would need that you can imagine in stock or definitely they will get it for you no matter white pricey it is but they will have it for you some of the older‘s I have some ChynaOf attitude but it must be their age or long hours of business, children at the end of the day it pays off to find what you really need
I am thankful for this stores existence! The staff is always extremely helpful and totally not grumpy!! JK!! Lol The prices seem fair for a non chain store! From guns to live bait and everything in between is what youll find!
Wandered in there about six months ago with my seven-year-old. Store staff was wonderful. Really amazing stuffed animals all over the store. Got a fantastic pair of sunglasses for my husband.
Amazing shop, selection, and staff. Everyone is knowledgeable and very helpful. The archery shop is top notch.
I agree with the negative reviews; Ive tried to shop there a couple of times, and most of them were not pleasant. On my first visit as a new LTC holder it took a while for the staff to talk to me like I was worth their time, and the other times I was either greeted with minimum courtesy or frankly like I was bothering them. The last time I was there one of the staff on the floor just stared at me until I started the conversation, and with a mask and no uniform its not like I could tell the person was an employee. This is unfortunate because since November 2020 our house (located in Belchertown) is becoming an avid shooter household, and were spending thousands of dollars on guns and supplies. Elsewhere.
R&R is a great sporting good store. The staff are very knowledgeable on hunting, firearms and archery equipment. I brought in an old bow I was gifted and their technicians breathed new life into it, and they didn’t try and upsell me on a new bow. Great service!
The sales people are very helpful. And they had the item I have been looking for.
Came in to have my bow repaired/tuned and needless to say...they were awesome! Being new to the sport, I had a lot of questions and knew very little. the Bow tech took all the time I needed to get fitted and learn some tips on maintaining the bow. Most importantly he was down to earth, 100% honest with me and didnt try selling me into something I didnt need. I will definitely be going there from this point on and I would HIGHLY recommend going here for all your Archery products and servicing.-Rich B.
Visited on 10-7-2020. Would not go again. Staff was rather rude even though myself and my friend were both purchasing firearms. Easy $1,000 in sales for them. Didn’t matter. Rude when walking in, rude when filling out paperwork, rude from start to finish. Also wouldn’t sell customers 9mm ammo unless they were purchasing a gun. There’s lots of gun shops in western Massachusetts. Don’t let this store be your gun shop.
I dont know why everybodys giving these guys all these bad reviews about how rude these guys are My son and I went there twice today first thing this morning and later on this afternoon little busy in the afternoon so we had to wait outside wasnt long though The guy kept coming out to make sure everybody was good we got in we got what we wanted they took over as quick good conversation a bunch of good guys Ill definitely go back therebought a Benelli supernova and a 12:20 over under shotgun for my son Ill be spending more money there
I never do this, but feel I have to with this store. Years ago I stopped going to this store because of how rude the employees are. Last time I was there ( roughly 2 years ago) I called to talk with the owner after I walked out . Unless you are a regular to this store, they are very rude. Owner even admitted it can be like that and offered me a discount on my purchase, I completed purchase. Went back today, and guess what, no customers in store and yet I felt like it was a bother to get some help. Im done. Traveled an hour away to a shop that was packed with customers and was treated like a friend even though I have never stepped foot in this shop before. I will never shop at R and R again! No discount would be enough, most miserable group of guys i ever met. Will be sharing new shop info with everyone I can.
Arrogant employees just a bunch of rude guys that think they are above all when in actuality they are a joke. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place
It was one of the best gun shops in New England they have mostly everything from fishing hunting archery they have it all live bait some of the best guys with guns and prices are real decent
Gorgeous homemade lures.
Good service and cordiality this people are very professional i love. Nothing bad about it ...
Very helpful people. These people know hunting. They are also good for Quabbin equipmeant and bait!
Good place lot of items would be 5 stars but not the friendliest
Knowledgeable people there, especially Kenny in the archery shop and phil behind the gun counter, one of the owners Rich Kimball is also very helpful the other owner jim Collins is a different story, hes very rude, disrespectful, no personality. He has a problem with customers conversating with employees in regards to merchandise their considering purchasing, someone should tell him that the business hes in, customer service is about customers obtaining information on the products he sells and he really needs to get some people skills and try being a little more friendly and outgoing instead of walking around all day with a pist off look on his face because sportsman like myself who spend money in his store are the reason he can afford to live the lifestyle he lives.
Great place super busy archery guys was great.
These guys must have Midas thing going on. Everything they touch turns to gold, and is priced like it was.Rude, holier than thou attitudes towards new customers, brusque response to questions (If I dont know about something, should I ask?). MY wife went in to get a cleaning kit for me as a present,. After being ignored, she asked one of the clerks about a kit, and he gave her so much grief she left crying!Never again will I patronize this place! Id rather drive down to another shop in Palmer.
Great selection of hunting and fishing. Helpfull knowledgeable staff. Awesome archery department
They were very helpful and had what I was looking for.
If you deal with the older gentleman that sits behind the counter you will be treated very fair. Great selection of whatever you’re looking for.
Went there today and all 3 guys behind the counter were wicked nice, open to questions, & informative. Ive been to gun stores all over new england and dealt with the cliche condescending gun counter guy who hates questions but the 3 dudes at R&R were relaxed and cool. That was my first time in there despite being from the area and utilizing surrounding gun stores and after my experience today id recommend them to anybody i know and go back for gear or upgrades...prices were good too, unlike places in worcester or springfield. solid place really.
A long wait outside the business ( covid-19). They were very helpful & assisted me to find everything I needed.
Did not make a purchase this time (first time there) but I am sure I will in the future
People are nice I had a great time but when I got home I bought a used Baldwin the thing wont even draw back
Never had business owners be more rude than these people, no idea how theyre still open. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere
Nice sports shop! Nice staff!
Great shop, very helpful staff.
Always treated me right, good prices, and great stock of used guns!
Says they open at 7 on Google page, get there and sign says they open at 6. Im thinking ok I could have gotten here earlier, its whatever. Go inside to go in bow section and its closed off. Guy tells me the archery guy wont be in until 9, maybe 10 o clock, what a waste of my morning. Literally just wanted to look at arrow rests but apparently the archery guy needs to be there?
They are decent. They can be a bit standoffish, but are personable enough. I dont find them objectionable. Their selection is decent and their prices can be pretty good if you know what youre shopping for. They often have specials on some firearms that are hard to beat in this state.
Don’t recall ever feeling more unwelcome in a small shop. From the chain smoking, .45 toting, little troll at the front door to the guys behind the counter. Every one of the employees seemed horribly inconvenienced by my, and other customers, presence. Won’t shop here again
Never again. If they dont recognize you, be ready for short answers and bad service. Im not surprised to see so many negative reviews. Really bad spokesmen for the sporting community.
This place has all types of bows. And American pew pew pew. Lots of variety, knowledgeable staff.....and layaway!!! 😁😁😁
Great prices, and always have or can get what I am looking for.
I was in the parking lot waiting for coworker, I saw a sign that said sporting goods. I thought it would be a decent way to kill some time looking around their store, upon entering there was a gentleman behind the counter. I was greeted and asked how I was. I explained to the gentleman I was just tire kicking, instantly his attitude was different towards me. I explained i was from out of state and tried to ask some questions about local gun laws. The gentleman seemed not to care weather or not I was in his store. I would certainly say not a friendly environment to out of towners. With that being said, they seemed to have a decent selection of firearms and outdoor equipment. Just dont let them know upfront your not buying or they will try to show you out the door!
Good people to work with when buying a gun.
The owners are amazing people and their store is awesome. Whether youre a hunter, fisherman, or otherwise, R&R is definitely the sports shop you need to go for all of your sporting goods. I highly recommend R&R sport shop and if I had the option, I would have rated 10 stars :)
The commercial says that it’s the “best place for your next adventure” but it should say rude, lazy, condescending, ignorant, overpriced place for your next adventure. Tried to talk to them about my crossbow and all I got was ignorance. Ed at E&J Archery in Westhampton is extremely friendly and will help with any of your archery needs! Never ever go to R&R Sport Shop
I have started to become a regular visitor in the archery section, I can say with confidence R and R sports is one of the best places you can to go to. All the staff there are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their what they sell and has always gone beyond their way to ensure that you come out of the store with the best supply that matches your budget. I highly reccomend anybody who hasnt gone to R and R sports and has a question about archery, guns, and fishing to pay them a visit.
Great place with knowledgable and friendly employees.
Well hidden gem. Found my shotgun case which I was looking for the entire week. Great store. Highly recommended.
They are great as always.
I’ve bought 2 guns from here, staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable, great place to buy used guns, new guns alittle over priced to what I’ve seen around but overall whenever I have a question I come see these guys now.
Couple years ago wife and i went in on xmas eve about an hour before closing. Bought 2 p938 sigs 9 mms i was about 75.00 shy because atm wouldnt give me an extra 100. The owner said Merry Christmas Girls and Handed us our guns. They were $200.00 cheaper for the gun i wanted and the only store in western mass who had it in stock. I went back 6 months later to buy my muzzleloader. Put it on layaway!!!! I had never heard of a gun store with layaway! Next gun i buy which will be soon. Will be bought here.
Favorite gun/sporting shop in area. Great people to deal with, very knowledgeable and friendly. Best prices around. Highly recommend.
Great place for guns, some fishing, not much for fly fishing, its crazy because theyre so close to the swift river
Great archery section and very large assortment of handguns. Plus all kinds of accessories.
I love going there looking at all the fishing equipment the hunting equipment the bow equipment feel like a little kid in a candy shop Ive never been let down when Ive gotten through those doors theyve always got what Im looking for plenty of baits or whenever I run out I dont have to worry about where Im going to get it the staff is friendly the place is clean
Ive been there twice... Ive read reviews of them being unfriendly and heard first hand from people about their rudeness, but they have been professional and helpful to me both times. Ill be going back again. Maybe you should talk to a guy named Phil... Very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the details. YMMV.PS Im not in any way affiliated with the shop. Was almost not going to visit because of their reputation.Just went back again for the 3rd time... Very helpful and courteous. Salesman answered all my questions and brought out a few pistols for me to handle. Professional and helpful. Also have some of the lowest prices Ive seen in the area.
This is probably the best gun shop overall that Western Massachusetts has to offer. Lots of new and used guns at prices that beat all the other Western MA dealers and even some of the Eastern MA dealers. Worth stopping at for sure. My only criticism? I wish that would put at least their used gun inventory on-line. I keep missing out on interesting guns just because I cant get out that way more often.
Knowledgeable and professional
R&R is great. I find they give me nice service and advice and I am new to some of this stuff.. so they have to be patient. Sometimes they are busy but they do pretty well overall.Double thumbs up to the bow guys Ken and Rich (although Rich still smells like smoke, from his house fire,.. just kidding). Better have Ken tune the bow next time after that joke!Anyways, .. always treated me well,.. I would recommend them others for sure.
Sportsmans delight! A nice little store for the outdoor person. Friendly service.
Bought my Hi-Point Carbine rifle there. Staff is friendly & knowledgeable. Great buying experience.
Grumpy men that hunt and work there. They are smart but too old.
Extremely rude service! Hate to not shop local but these guys are a bad example of how a local shop should treat the locals.
Very friendly and helpful!
I was very good, people very nice and help full,he had everything of animal you could imagine mounted on the walls.
Geat information concerning upcoming firearm trade. The person behind the counter very patent and helpful. Always given good service.
Knowledgeable staff, great selection, and good value.
They have a pretty good selection but the customer service sucks. They also refuse to do transfers between individuals.
Well if you need guns or shooting star it good I guess. I was looking for fly fishing things and got yeah we have some stuff over there and was waved off. Was things for tying flies didnt see many poles or flies not that I could ask anyone anyways guy just sat on his stool behind the counter.
Great shop! Lots of inventory and good prices! The staff is very knowledgeable!
They were very help full. Big selection .Thank you. Enjoyed my visit and especially my new firearm.
Great place to get all your sporting needs !Always greeted with a welcome at the door !Great prices for guns, amminition, bows, crossbows fishing and hunting gear !Salesman are very knowledgeable and are willing to help answer any questions you might have !I recommend R & R Sport Shop to everyone !Keep up the great work guys !
The guy in the archery shop was very friendly, personable and educational. Had my bow adjusted to me and the cost was very reasonable. I would suggest R&R to anyone I know and I plan on going back any time I need anything.
They spent a lot of time helping me pick out my first and second pistol. I love them both and I get great help with any questions I have.
Horrible service. Snotty attitude. Dont bother going here. Every time I walk out of here I ask myself why I even bothered going here in the first place. Find another shop. If you are looking for benelli. Take the extra drive up to see Sherm at buck rub sporting goods in orange. Way better prices and easily the best service around.
Very well stocked sporting goods store. A little bit of everything. Good quality items.
We bought a sig p938 a spare mag and two holsters from R&R mags were same price as anywhere else including online and the pistol was $45-50 dollars cheaper than several other shops. They let my girlfriend check out half a dozen other guns before she picked one out. They also have guns in stock that other shops tell me can not be ordered. I will be going back again and would recommend to others
Nice ppl. They were helpful and answered all my questions.Took my brother there, hed bought a Glock handgun the manager include a free box of ammo. Price were reasonable. Will go there again.
Bought a new bow couldnt be happier great people, very knowledgeable, and willing to do what is need to make sure your happy with your purchase
About the only place that locally that has fishing bait just a little steep on the price though
Just dont do it
Excellent and knowledgeable about everything they have and that I asked
When you call to check if they have an item you need.... and they tell you they have it in stock. Drive 40 miles round trip and its not there .. and the guys says he didnt actually check but it was right here a few days ago....! Just plain lazy.....! Could have walked 8 steps from your stool and lookEd at the rack ..! Wasted time driving 40 miles for nothing..! I wont go in that shop again...! Fat lazy and stupid is no way to go through life . . Good help is hard to find I guess..
Great store very close to lots of recreational activities
I bought a Smith and Wesson Shield 9mm here and they were really friendly. The gentleman that i bought my gun helped me pick out a holster. Then I went back a week later because i had a problem with my gun and the guy fixed it for free and gave me a free box of amo
The place is awesome, the staff is great, very nice selection. I feel like a kid inna candy store
Great selection of arms, very knowledgable staff.
What natan said below. Talked down to about a concept I already understood. Didnt ask a question and got a quick talking to about a simple concept.
Small but good quality selection, good service. The people who work here are total fudds though. If you dont know what a fudd is you probably are one, in which case you will love this place.
Extremely rude. Don’t waste your time here. These guys also ripped me off on a trade in. I should have walked out and was stupid for staying but that’s on me.Been in many times and never a good experience.
Excellent selection of goods with knowledgeable staff.
