Wonderful ethnic grocery show that imports authentic Asian cuisine, mostly from the Philippines. The prices are very low, by American standards. The veggies are fresh, as is the meat, and the exotic favorites are available as well. The one way streets make it difficult to get into and out of but it is worth the effort.

This place has the worst customer service, and the mother and daughter duo that works and own this store are extremely rude to their customers. There has been several occasions when my family has shopped there, where they were rudely told off by the mother and daughter for the weirdest reasons. For example: a few days ago my mom asked the mother that works there, in Vietnamese, if they have a certain item in stock, the mother yells at my mom in Vietnamese and said I dont have any in stock alright???! Not only did she startled my mom with her reaction, but it caused other shoppers to look at my mom and at the lady. Then a while back, my uncle came in to buy some big bags of rice and had asked if he could get help bringing it out to his car. The daughter that works there yelled at him No!. Which ends up being the last time he ever shopped there. Then the last time Ive shopped there (about a year ago), I paid in cash for something and the daughter just threw the change at me, which caused some coins falling over the counter and onto the ground. The weird thing is that I didnt even say a word to her, but just the daughter being in a bad mood.Im not saying that theyre not allowed to have a bad day, but to act this way on a constant basis is driving business away, due to how rude and unprofessional this place is.You can see from other 1 star comments that the main problem with this store is the rude service. If they dont care how they treat their customers, fine, but if they dont like people, then they opened the wrong type of business.Aside from how rude the service is, the place does not seem to view sanitary as their top priority. I too (look at the other comment on here) have seen cockroaches running around the store. Im glad my uncle and I have stopped shopping here, and although this place is close to us, I rather drive my mom to other Asian stores that may be further, but at least those places would want our business.

The owner or someone does not want to fix anything for the customers. My mother had swollen her knee by tripping on the holes in the parking lot and she said that the worker should fix it so people don’t end up tripping more and they said it didn’t need to be safe. My friend fell there too and now her back has been hurting ever since. Instead of caring about the money they should also care about customer safety too. Produce is good though. Just really bad worker attitudes, which does not imply to all workers though!

The people who work there are so rude and no customer friendly at all. I went there today to buy some Asian fruits. As I touched the fruit, this woman (Chinese or Asian woman who seems like who is like in her 30s)who was at the check out stand yelled at me saying that is $10 a pound. Do you know that like that, I am not qualified to buy it?, I said, yes, I know. Then she went on to say if you dont know that fruit is more than a pound like she can avoid me from buying it. I just looked at her and continue what I was doing. She looked like she is mad at the whole world and not good to do business with live people unless they are robots. If I am the owner of this store, I would be watching how these cashiers are doing unless I am ready to give up my business and close it down.

What I love about this Manila market is the owner and employees are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful! The selection of products is amazing and the produce is fresh, Im looking forward to trying some of their meats soon. I appreciate that they source their products locally as much as possible and feature produce from some smaller organic farms. Prices seem to be in line with Whole Foods and New Seasons, in some cases a bit lower. Authentic Asian food from The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Northeast-India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Korea, & Japan, Etc. Excellent selection, super friendly business owner. GREAT people and GREAT PRICE too. THE BEST OF BEST ASIAN GROCERY STORE IN TOWN!!!

They do have good veggies/herbs. But they have the worst customer service. I came in today and her daughters were working/training, not one word of thank you or hi or how are you! The young gal put my food items in the bag, set it on the counter, and moved on to the next customer. Her mother does the same thing 80% of the time that I shop there. The whole store are rude, rude, and rude! Especially the old lady (the owners mom) that works there also. She treat her customer like trash, mean, and grumpy. The owner of course is an idiot to put his mom to work there. I have experience lots of bad services there before and I am ok to tolerated their rudeness in the past, but today, I will not tolerate Manilas store any longer and they lost not just me as a customer, but my 1000s of friends that I will be spreading the story to. The old lady insulted my mom in Vietnamese, and I happened to walked by and confronted her, she was rude and said I dont talk to you! and walk off... what a b*tch! I did not know that she is the owners mom, so I told him that the old lady back there is rude, he started yelling at me... well I dont blame him for defending his mom just like me defending my mom, but if they want to have a good running business, the idiot store owner need to get rid of the grumpy old lady. I know that me and my friends will not be their customers for life from here on out.

This store came up when I searched for philipino seafood market. Now that might be a Google mess up, but we figured wed try it out. Had to be philipino food with the name Manila market right? Nnnnope. My wife said there were a few items from the Philippines, but most were Chinese, tai ect. To my knowledge there isnt a Manila in China or any other Asian country other than the Philippines. My wife said there was no rice from the Philippines which actually surprised me a bit. The seafood they had was all Frozen and not good according to my wife.I would say that if you are expecting philipino food and fresh seafood, this is probably a place you would want to avoid. Its not very big and the place just looked... Shabby.. to me. Its not a place we will be going to again. If anyone knows a good philipino grocery store that has fresh seafood besides Seafood City in Seattle, please comment on the review. We are looking as it is easier for us to get to Portland than Seattle.
