If you are building a new home or upgrading your existing home, you must visit Denise Williams at carter lumber. She is knowledgeable, professional and extremely talented! She assisted me with the design of my kitchen, laundry and bath cabinetry and counter tops. I would not use any other designer than Denise, she is very skilled at valuing the customer and their dream designs. Please visit her if you plan on upgrading your home or building a new home!
Misquoted over the phone, when I got in the store the studs were $2 more than the quote. I was told the manager was with an auditor and couldn’t see me. The gentleman who gave me the quote over the phone recalled some of our conversation but told me the rest didn’t happen. Don’t waste your time on this place, just go to Lowe’s. Sad...
Tried ordering 720 ft.² of TimberTech decking material and it’s been three weeks, called over six times and still cannot get a quote. Terrible customer service.
The staff is extremely rude and very lazy. The several times that I have been there because their wood prices are cheaper than Lowes or Home Depot, when I leave I always feel as if I were interrupting them or they were put off by me asking questions regarding their inventory. They seem to focus more on whatever is on their computer than on the paying customer standing in front of them.
I stopped by to pick up a couple of fence posts today. The prices were a bit more than I expected but not outrageous. I think they were $.25 more than Home Depot, not enough to get excited about and they were certainly more convenient for this trip. The quality of the lumber was better than I am used to; relatively straight and clear. Unfortunately, the service was somewhere between bad and appalling. I was the only customer in the store and it took over ten minutes for the clerk to come to the counter to help me. Once my order was paid for, I drove to the yard and waited close to 15 minutes for someone to get my lumber. The yard man mumbled and never looked at me. It felt like I was an inconvenience, not a customer. I havent been to Carter Lumber in at least 5 years. I think that I may be remembering why.
I called to order some cabinet panels, as we had water damage. They were very professional and willing to accommodate. They had to located the previous order which took extra time, I hid not feel rushed at all - I felt valued as a customer. Thank-You!
Looking for shelf bracket for cabinet. They did not stock the item I needed. However, they took one off a display for me. Very nice and helpful for me. Thank you.
The interview process was proficient but comfortable.
This is NOT a consumer friendly business and is virtually impossible to shop if you are a DIYer and have a day job. They close at 5:00 M-F and are not open at all on the weekend. It is geared to professionals, and are unwilling to accommodate anyone else.
Good fast service and kind friendly people.
I have been to this location 4 or 5 times in the past 20 years and every time the service has been terrible. The staff people were rude and acted like I was bothering them when I tried to get help in finding something. My advice is dont go here if you dont have to. Stick to Lowes or Home Depot.
Staff is very rude an s unhelpful. I was trying to get a cabinet quote for a kitchen. I gave them all the codes to the cabinets I wanted to purchase, never received a call back. I called to get an update and was told the person I was working with was on lunch and told to call back. I will not be revisting this store.
Great service
