Was looking to sell my late fathers Benelli shotgun, and the gentleman that helped me (Im really bad with names, sorry everyone) was very nice, and didnt let me stand in line. Quoted me what I feel is a fair price, understanding that they gotta make some off it as well. Would recommend to anyone looking to buy or sell. The historic rifles and pistols were a treat for me,as well. I will definitely be back.
Best shop around if you want modern too unique this place is where you will find it I dont even waist my time going other places anymore everytime I go in its something cool best selection of military you are going to find and always well stocked
Came in to purchase some ammo for myself and my elderly father. He is at risk so it’s best he stays inside. Thank goodness I was able to buy more than one box ( unlike those big box stores ) and bring some home to him. The smile on his face made it all worth it.Also, the shop was clean, sanitized and the staff were taking all the proper precautions due to the current climate. Thank you Palmer firearms for truly caring about your customers.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the items they have, are good people, and they have some absolutely crazy firearms. easily one of the best gun shops i’ve been to, and is definitely one you want to check out!
Loved stoping into this shop. Just went in to look for ammo and talk with the staff there about a couple different things. There prices are far and must say one of the better shops I have been too. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Definitely in my top 3 best gun shops.
Very knowledgeable and helpful! I would definitely recommend Palmer Firearms if you are looking for a firearm or ammo. The owner is a great guy!.
The store and its owner are both great. Wish I would’ve known about it sooner!
I instantly found what I was looking for, and was sold on it, with a box of free ammo😎 Friendly knowledgeable staff, and a nice collection available.
Good people work here. Was looking to purchase a handgun. Just happen to stop in just to look at what they had. The owner and his stuff were very friendly, helpful in choosing a handgun. They didn’t have the handgun on hand but it was on the way. So I purchase it along with the ammunition for it. When I went to pick it up. I ask if they could get there hand on this handgun. They show me one I could order gave me a good deal on it. now it is on the way. I will pick it up next week. I have been in other places but is the “best place in dayton”. Don’t go in with a want you will go home with a new need. Don’t believe me stop in and just ask questions. You will not be sorry.
Bought my First and very shortly after my Second gun from here last week. The owner was absolutely fantastic at answering any questions and helping me find a firearm that fit my unique needs. I will 100% buy there more in the future and highly recommend it
Love this place and the owner is a great guy. I have bought many of things from them with no issues especially ammo he seems to be the only one that ever has any. Highly recommend.
This place is awesome! I went in as a first time AR buyer with very little knowledge. I ended up accidentally purchasing a pistol when I wanted a rifle, and he accepted the return with no issue at all. This store has absolutely gained a loyal customer!
Palmers gun shop has done an excellent job of serving Western Ohio for ten years now. I can always find neat curiosities and hard to find military surplus arms in the shop. The current owner, Andrew is knowledgable and glad to share what he knows and help get what you want. One of the most obscure but fun guns I have in my collection came from Palmers, a Tommybuilt T-36. Great performer and head turner on the range. You wont find things like this in stock in many shops in this area but Andrew does his best to keep his shop interesting. So check out Palmers Guns you will be glad you did.
They have a really nice Taurus gun there for $239.99I been saving up my last few paychecks to be able to purchase itSo this Friday when I get payed Im going to go ahead and make the purchase im so excited its my first gunIm planning on starting my own security guard company here soon and this will be a great purchase so that I can make sure my clients and buildings are safe
Just visited the shop...walked around looking at items for 5 minutes..the 3 employees Never said a word or acknowledged I was even there...had cash in hand to purchase...
Looking for a revolver for my mother. Great guys showed me a pop up pistol .22 to get her started which was a great solution. Stupidly I left and went to Gander and spoke to a know nothing making minimum wage who tried to scare my mom about her home defense option. Returned immediately to make my purchase with lots of ammo. Great team here look no further.
Havent been able to make it yet but just by the pictures Im really excited s0 a 2 is good for now
My first gun purchase Andrew was very helpful and respectful. When youre a self admitted novice shot you get talk down to a lot. He made me feel comfortable with asking any questions. Also replace my lost receipt so I could get warranty taking care of.
The best gun shop around. I call this place home for my firearm needs. If you are in the area stop by you wont be disappointed.
Stopped by the store a few time over the last few months for ammo and to check out inventory. Great owner, friendly and helpful. Phone rings off the hook, and he is only one person. Keep that in mind. Best to just stop in the store and ask your questions!
Great place. Best place to go to in the Dayton area in my opinion. They have great prices and service and andrew is always open to answering any questions you have.
I used to look forward to this as being an upcoming local Gun shop. That is until I stopped in recently and saw the price gouging they had on Ammo.Really, $600 for 1000 rounds of 9mm? Shame on you guys!I believe in supply and demand, capitalism, and even raising prices for an additional profit; but damn this is sticking it to your customers.I won’t be back.I couldn’t find it in my heart to give you a 1 Star because at least your still supporting second amendment rights.
Love this place!! This is one of the best in the area. Especially when you are on the hunt for a harder to find firearms. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff who give you more attention than a big name store and you dont have to pay the big store prices.
Ive picked up a couple guns, some accessories, and had some work on one of my SKSs done here. Great guys! Good prices. Awesome variety. Always cool historical pieces around on display to check out. No complaints and will be back for sure!
Called an asked about 9mm an he said 39.99 for a box of 50 rounds an i was shocked an he got a lil rude sayimg thats why im calling him that i cant find it anywhere ( which i can just a lil further drive an they normally go for 11 or 12 bucks a box of 50 rounds 9mm ) but it was just terrible customer service i woulda came an bought other ammo besides the 9mm but the way he talked to me turned me off have no interest in giving him business. Edit: found a nice shop in urbana 15 min away 5.56 $11 223 $10.50 9mm $10 great customer service. You can still find ammo for good prices.
I was amazed at the wonderful service I received.Very knowledgeable. Very courteous. Well stocked store.Took care of my needs, on the spot! Thanks guys!
The owner has an amazing collection of historical guns. He’s super friendly
Awesome gun shop! I was amazed by the selection of firearms and accessories they carry with the knowledge to back it up! Its no wonder why theyve been in business so long. Certainly recommended by me!
Andy and his team always makes you feel welcome and answers all your questions. Great place to shop
These guys are great. They have a pretty good selection of firearms. WWI, II and modern day firearms and gizmos. Prices are fair for what you can get. Andrew is knowledgeable and knows his stuff (from brief conversations Ive had with him). I just wish they were closer in town so Id have a place to visit more often. Its pretty awesome to see what they offer. You walk in wishing youd hit the lottery. Good guys. Ive been here a couple of times. Ive got nothing bad to say about this store.
I went to Palmer Firearms on Friday, March 20th 2020 and was told a shipment of 9MM ammunition would be arriving on 3/25/2020 and I could prepay to receive some of that shipment. I prepaid $192.15 for 500 rounds of 9MM ammunition. My name and cell phone number were put on their list of names that prepaid. Understanding the craziness we are all experiencing with COVID-19 I gave it a couple of weeks but still had not received a call. I have tried calling multiple times and left voicemails with my name and number. It is now 5/4/202 more than a month later and I have yet to receive a return call. This is absolutely the worst experience I have ever had as a customer. I would strongly recommend not doing any type of business with a company that will take someones money and not even bother to call them after more than month, much less bother to provide the product purchased or a refund if the product can not be provided. I will be more than happy to update this review if a refund or the product is ever provided. However, I dont expect that will happen at this point.
Great place. Lots of cool stuff ranging from surplus to newer exotic firearms and great people. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
Im impressed how Palmer can keep getting ammo coming in during this run on ammo. Dont waste your time going anywhere else, they are sold out. These guys are my go to for FFL transfers. Other big named stores are charging $40 to $75! Palmer has always charged the same for transfers.
Very friendly for experienced owners as well as first-time buyers. Very patient staff and a well priced selection.
Definately coming back. Good service from good people
The guys at this little gun shop do not treat people like a strictly professional owners to customer sales, they tend to treat people like they are friends or family, they listen to your stories and concerns & if they dont know exactly what youre asking, they get on the computer and find just what youre wanting to know. They have priced matched & even better on firearms that I had a hard time finding, when noone else did they came through for me. I have watched this shop grow quickly from the day they opened & hope they will continue to flourish. If you think their prices are too high just check out the prices at other shops in the area & Im sure you will see differently. I couldnt think of a single reason for me to go to any other shop first of my firearm needs! Very helpful, very friendly, very knowledgeable, a great little shop that I hope will be around for a long time!
Great gun shop! Friendly, knowledgeable service. This place has the right guns. This gun shop has great prices and they will negotiate to be the competitors. I highly recommend!
Hands down the best firearms store in Dayton. The guys that work here are very knowledgeable and will do everything in their power to help our a customer. I will not go to any other gun store. Excellent customer service, Very cool store front and some awesome guns you cant find anywhere else. You cannot beat PSG, period.
My son and I love to shop at Palmers! They have a unique collection of surplus weapons and ammo. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Purchased multiple firearms from this store and it has always been a great experience. Staff is friendly, and knowledgeable!
Awesome store the staff was very friendly and helpfull I told them I was a 2 hour drive away and they waited for me to get there so I could pick up the psl sniper rifle they had. Will definitely go back again when I have more time to look around at all their guns.
I accidentally left my magazine at the store, and when I called Andy and told him he hung up on me. I called back and told another worker who let me come back and get it. That was just rude. I just did a transaction, in which you got the better deal, and you hang up on me? I wont be coming back for anymore purchases or trades. I was in a hurry which is why I forgot. They dont have much of a selection. Theyre slightly overpriced. There are much better gun stores in the area.
Stopped in the shop Saturday with my family and had a good experience. This place has a personality that you dont find in the big gun supermarkets. I ended up buying a handgun and my son found a canister for his surplus gas mask. Go figure. I will be back to check out the long gun selection and to see what turns up in the cases.
This store is hands down my favorite gun shop. The atmosphere is awesome like others have said; walk in, and youre immediately surrounded by surplus weapons, gear, and uniforms, oftentimes things that you wont commonly find anywhere else. Usually theres some sort of war movie or documentary playing on the TV, and the owner Andy keeps a display case where he regularly rotates different rare/interesting weapons/memorabilia that you dont see every day. The prices are fair, and for surplus weapons you simply wont find a better place locally. Theres usually about a dozen or so milsurp rifles up on the wall, and new items are in-and-out frequently, so if you dont find what youre looking for, check back frequently. Andrew and his staff are always willing to answer any questions or help you find what youre looking for, and Ive never experienced any sort of pressure or pushiness to buy anything. Like others have said, the vibe is less retail-store and more like youre just talking guns with some buddies. If guns or military surplus are your thing, definitely give this store a look.
I have had the pleasure of visiting Palmer Firearms many times. It pains me to read some of the reviews that others have left regarding this store and their amazing service. Andrew, the owner, is perhaps one the most knowledgeable and yet chill guys I have ever met at a gun store to this date. I have visited a few other gun stores in the area. While none of these others are absolutely terrible, I find that Palmers just tends to provide some of the best prices, service, and atmosphere inside the shop. Also, for those who might not already be aware. Palmer Firearms has an online store. Forget about the physical size of the brick and mortar store, this online store has a pretty impressive selection of firearms and accessories to pick from. Most of the prices online are fantastic too. I find that the cost of buying a gun from a huge online retailer, having it shipped, and paying a standard FFL transfer fee is almost always more expensive than just making a purchase at Palmer Firearms online store and having it shipped to the store. So far, I have purchased several things from Palmer. Ive bought firearms, sights, magazines, ammo and more. I admire the store owner and all the employees who work there. I have no doubt that I will continue to shop at Palmer Firearms.
Andrew and Mark are great, they know what they selling and honest and very easy to work with. It is a great place to do business, I send all of my friends to this shop.
What I have found is if you cant find what you are looking for in this shop, the owner (Andy) will find it for you. Also he has a great selection of inexpensive Ammo to choose from. Quality and Quantity Ammo. Newest is the 300 Blackouts
Great to have a local place that has so many answers for the needs of us who relish in older weapons and history
Always friendly and knowledgeable, good selection and will find what you need, I have bought and sold here and have never had an issue.
Great place. Gave me fair price for some old guns I sold them. Solid knowledgeable people. Will do business there first!
Solid establishment and Andy has a great deal of knowledge. Will and plan on doing more business with. I currently drive from Northern Kentucky to Beavercreek for the great service and prices. Thanks guys!
Only gun store I go to when going back to Ohio. Knowledgeable, down to earth professionals. People and places like this are why I always chose small business first. Purchased half of my collection from, or through them.
Andy, The owner is awesome! Hes very helpful and so is everyone else that works there! Ive bought at least 10 guns from these guys. Always a great price.
The staff at PSG really know their stuff and, more importantly, they know what they DONT know. These guys wont jerk you around and waste your time and money if they dont have the expertise to manage the issue.I recently bought all of the parts to build a firearm, but was tackling that challenge for the first time. PSGs staff talked me through it beforehand, and then were kind enough to function-check it after my build was complete for any issues.Though their in-shelf selection is somewhat limited, PSG is a great place if youre into firearms (especially historical arms) and want a nice, friendly atmosphere in a local shop.
Well as I sit here at this McDonalds, pondering on the monster that Im about to buy Andy (the owner) a fair and great guy, I was given a deal for a screw for my mosen. That deal was to either buy him a monster or write a review, I said I would do both. I give him 5 stars.
Very accommodating to the first time buyer, I was a little skeptical about getting my first gun but Andy took his time with me to make sure I fully understood how to safely use and store it. Would recommend to anyone.
Hands down the best. Great service, great quality firearms, great hours. Andy was so helpful, & answered all of my questions. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Great place ive bought two guns from them both shippped out to my FFL the same day. Plus Andrew always responds to emails if you have any questions.
The best staff and prices for all your boom boom needs. The ONLY place Ill do my shopping! Mr. Palmer and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and will take great care of you!
Great customer service and pricing. Feels great to support your local businesses
They were so f**kin amazing sold me a really great rare fire arm called a highpoint c9 9mm hand gun for a super great price i love the gun so much i use it as my everyday carry piece only con is it only hold 8 bullets so i keep a ziplock bag of about 20 missmatch 9mm bullet in my glove department in my car just incase something happens i am able to protect my family now i have had lots of fire arms including KIMBER, CZ, GLOCK, SMITH AND WESTON, REMINGTON, RUGER, AND MUCH MOREBut none of them can even compare to how great the highpoint 9 mm i Bought from PALMER FIRE ARMS.I think the US military needs to get rid of the berettas and the sigs and m16sAnd equipt our soldiers with highpoint c9 side arm and there maine rifle as the highpoint 9mm carbineBoth are great percision machines.THEY EVEN GAVE ME A FREE BOTTLE OF COLD WATER WILE I WAITED FOR MY BACKROUND CHECKThey do not walk you out to your car like they do if you buy a gun at walmart or rural king they treat you with respect and not like a criminalBEAVERCREEK IS JUST SUPPER BLESSED TO HAVE ANDREW PALMER AND PALMER FIREARMS
Bought a few guns here. Competitive prices and knowledgeable staff. Andy is a great guy to deal with and made me a sweet CCW holster.
Had my best gun store experience so far, fair prices and solid firearm advice. Thanks for the free T-shirt guys ...Will be back soon!
Went in to discuss some work on a couple of pistols I own. One on the guns in question was a Star PD 45acp which has seen combat duty in my hands on 2 different continents with over 250,000 rounds between 1981-1993. Funny thing is it only took Andrew Palmer roughly 45 seconds to start talking down to me as if I were a mere novice. It is service such as this that drives away new and potential repeat business. Condescension towards the patrons that are willing to add to your financial growth is detriment to the continuation of a business, unless you have a substantial amount of capital to squander away. Having said thay, Andrew, your attitude cost you thousands in business from myself, and far more from those that heed these type of TRUE reviews. Before you even decide to start typing some sort of a jaded retort, as witnessed in other reviews, know this. YOU EARNED this rating all on your own with your attitude.
Ive purchased several firearms here (S&W MP15, HiPoint 9mm Carbine, Yugo M92), and Im still regretting not buying one of those Swiss 1911 rifles that came through. Im a pretty big fan of this place because they stock antique and historical firearms as well as modern unique/off-center and non-western rifles, including the AK and SKS. If you are buying a new gun here, there isnt a lot of rocket science in the deal. If you are buying a used gun, then the responsibility rests equally on you and the dealer to inspect and disclose. Ive found them to go above and beyond on this responsibility, having shown a willingness to share knowledge and experience with specific elements of each gun. Most importantly, buying guns is a really fun experience here. The dealers treat everyone with respect, and enjoy the experience just as much as I do.
Came across Palmers while searching area gun stores and decided to check them out.Very happy that I did. Andrew greeted me warmly and I could tell right away that I wasnt going to be rushed. After explaining what I was looking for, and even though it was not going to be a high dollar sale, his attitude remained totally focussed on my being happy when I left.Even with a couple hiccups due to issues beyond his or mine control, the final result was I left with the firearm that suited my needs. He answered all my odd questions with a smile and not once made me feel silly. That I approximated more than anything else.Anyone looking to buy a firearm for the first time or just to round out their collection really should stop by Palmer Firearms.
Great prices on everything. Super friendly and very knowledgeable
Awesome place awesome people great selection
Store employees are friendly and greet me everytime I enter. Theyre very knowledgeable and have answers to all of my questions. The store almost always has a good stock of AKs, ARs, and Milsurps. Plenty of AK parts from the $5 grab-bin, too. The last few times I was in there, they were selling individual 20rd bundles of surplus 7.62x54r for less than a box of Tula.
Mr. Palmer is the go to guy in the Dayton-Beavercreek area for all your Firearm needs. His knowledge and customer service is second to none and wouldnt even entertain the thought of shopping elsewhere. Andrew has a customer for life.
These guys work hard too make it a comfortable and friendly environment for gun owners ranging from novice to expert. Look no further if you need to buy yourself a firearm.
A store that dont have already banking hours or better is not consumer friendly. Took the day off work to shop around and buy a few guns and this store is closed... follow up, then the guy who runs the shop Andrew Palmer looks me up on Facebook to send me a message saying a shouldnt have left this review... #unprofessional...
Have ordered several guns from them. Friendly staff that have always answered all my questions.
Did not like the store. As a great fan of mosin nagants I went to this store a few times. Very little invintory and the mosins he had were cheep Chinese versions that were way over priced. I bought a Russian hex for Cheever than the Chinese ones he was trying to push. Wasnt too helpful and seemed not to care about what I was asking for.
Competitive pricing, great service & expert advice!
Great staff and one of the most reasonable FFL transfer fees in the area. Theyll also do their best to look for a particular gun you want to order, and still beat the prices of the big online stores. Also conveniently located in Beavercreek, while most of the other gun places are up in Vandalia.
Great staff. Very knowledgable
They are the best gun store in Beavercreek...but Beavercreek isnt much in the way of gun stores. They have a fair price on FFL transfers and they seem to rather want to do that than to match someone elses local price on a firearm,It is all about how much you make and I agree with that, just dont see how the margin is less than 25.00.Example: They state on many ads that they meet or beat competitor prices but I went in to price a cheap rifle that I could get locally for 40.00 less than they had on the wall display. The guy looked it up and said he couldnt do any better than the wall price. Said he Had about that much in itIt seams you be better off to sell a gun for 30-45 profit than to FFL for only 25 but they seem to rather FFL transfer. I dont get it, but oh well.I am not going to pay more not even 10.00 for local convenience or speed.Someone mentioned they have as good of prices as big internet companies....NO ONE has as good of prices as internet companies...unless you are not finding the right ones. You can always get it for less even after FFL fee if you order.People pay a price premium for in person service, speed, convenience. I do not. They have always been polite and quick enough to help me when I have been in store.
Great service, fantastic prices, friendly staff, answered all my questions.
Poor service, and extremely poor gunsmith...took a brand new ar-15 to have quad rails installed, took three weeks and the upper receiver has scratches as well as incorrectly installed rails looks like they used a hammer and screwdriver to tighten the lock nut...had to take back to get fixed. i was quoted a low price over the phone, but when i got there they tripled the price. stay away from this place if you need any gunsmithing done...
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Mostly online, but the service and owner are super nice and knowledgable.
Guy new his stuff right on...
When to his store had the open light on and the door locked with people inside
Andy and I agreed on a price and then he tried to charge more than what we originally agreed upon when I arrived. Avoid this store.
Awesome
