Always clean and very friendly staff.. Got here at 2035 on a Tuesday night and still had lathing spots.

Very good place to stop. Employees are super friendly and take care of all your needs. Lots of truck parking. The food is amazing and a reasonable price and they give you alot. You will not go away hungry. The place is clean! The shower had good water pressure. I love this place and recommend it to everyone. I didnt even have one bad thing to say about this place. Everything and everyone is amazing.

Good place to take an early walk around the truck stop, getting your exercise, keeping DOT, from only giving a 6 month or a 1 year medical card. LOL

They were awesome. They were extremely accommodating and the over all visit was well worth the price we paid. I highly recommend this place without any reservations. It was a decent place to stop on our road trip. Nice gift shop

I tried the new Black Bear Dinner at Petro.I was disappointed in the food. I got the Bacon Burger with fries. The burger was small and the bun was soggy, the taste was ok. Fries so salty, I could only taste the salt, not the fry. Service was good. I would not ever get this menu item again. Over $10 for meal plus $2 tip. I could pay a lot less and get a bigger, better Burger meal at most fast food. I will return and try other items on menu. The rest of Petro was what you would expect. Clean and well maintained.

Decent appearance with a nice size Driver lounge. The food was delicious. Had pancake platter with Turkey sausage. Service was very good especially bringing my very own pincher.

The Petro website says there is parking for 275 trucks. I dont see how that is possible since the lot isnt nearly as big as some other Petro locations. Maybe 150 in a pinch, but not 275. Still, the Black Bear Diner is always good and the service is mostly friendly, if a bit rushed.

No restroom or showers, water lines are frozen. Only reason Im leaving the 5 stars is for the ladies in the fuel station still coming into work in this crazy weather and making food so us drivers can have a warm cooked meal. Super grateful for yall!

Big parking lots,pay-per-no-view(RP)parking spots are in the front building and pot holes are every where..Black Bear Diners for food..good foods but they need to do something about truck drivers..in busy hours drivers can’t afford to waste time to get their food..that’s why it called truck stop..Hope they can think a way to accommodate them not to wait longer ☺️😊😉

Can’t park in half the truck stop because it’s reserved. What a joke. Don’t spend any money here. The restaurant is a bigger joke. Always a 30 minute wait. Apparently all locals can’t go eat somewhere else. Need a drivers only section in the restaurant like all the other Petros.

Cool I pick up my order at this place

Spent Saturday and Sunday here. Great hamburger, very good omelet and big salad. But Monday morning, asked if the oatmeal real or out of a bag. Told made daily. When I got my oatmeal, it was runny like water. And taste like water. Was told, they had to add water and nuke it. It was bad!!Stop here to scale after loading. Went to Fuel desk. Had to correct clerk 3 times, he was too busy talking on his cellphone. People need to be told to put their cellphones away, before taking to customers.

Thought can be hard to park super loads it is possible and with restaurants, shopping and movie theater within walking distance...My go to spot

A place I stopped often when I was a long haul Truck driver back 30 plus years ago. I stop in now a days when traveling as I know its always been a safe place and they serve good food. That day it was a quick stop for some of my passengers.

Theres nothing a driver can grab some quick food and go, has to sit and order at the restaurant which takes drivers time. Truckers dont only work day time, we need quick food at night as well. 2 stars only for the big parking lot

Very clean restrooms. We ate a delicious breakfast at The Black Bear Diner. Our waitress Melissa was so chill and nice. She is a great person to start the day with. All the staff I came in contact with were awesome. Highly recommended. Note to big truck drivers: Do be aware the lot still has a lot of work left after the flood. It is definitely doable but navigate carefully.

Good place to stop! Cleanish restrooms and plenty of selection including fresh food. This is a good place to stop by and walk around and stretch your legs and also to grab a quick bite to eat before hitting the road again.

The Black Bear Diner is a national treasure if you ask me.I love everything on the menu chops, omelets, salad, soups, it just goes on and on. Meatloaf is world famous to me, love the blended ground beef and sausage with the seasonings and spices, its a standout entree.Although I dined on the savory tender and delicious beef pot roast last night, I can assure anyone that it wasnt a disappointment at all enjoying this meal with salad.P.S The Corn Muffin left out the door with me!, it can doubled as a dessert!.

Checked into service for a mud flap the woman behind the counter Maggie was more concerned about her personal phone call then the drivers who provide her paycheck. Maggie informed me it would be a bit due to techs being out on a road call and I would recieve a call, after a hour of waiting I noticed they pulled a truck into the bay that had just arrived. I went in to see why I havent been call and was informed Maggie never put my order in because she had to leave which in turn has burned up my clock and caused me to miss my delivery and will also be late for home time on friday after being out and away from home for the last 7 weeks thank you very much T.A and most importantly Maggie enjoy time with your family because of all the work we drivers do.

The food in truck island..AWESOME! But this gets 2 because came in for a mud flap, told I was next, watched truck pull in, waited over an hour, finally went to see what was going on n the counter person was too interested in her phone conversation n going home that she failed to tell the next person bout us. Thanx! Truck drivers would like to go home to on time too!

Went in to fix slack adjuster on trailer. .have them put it back together. .Push rod system15 minute job.had me waiting 3 hours at this petro garage. ..Black people first. ..white people 3ed. .......

Delicious snacks for driving

Most washer and dryers are broken or take coins only. Cashier refuses to exchange cash for change, they have removed change machine. Have sign posted that says machines have been reported please get cash. Had cash, Cashier no help with change. Air conditioner in laundry room is broken its 30°c or 86°f in there and the thermostat says call for service. They dont care about the American trucker they just want your money.

The shopping center is a very neat place to look around. Of course they sell the top notch stuff for truck drivers. Most stuff I just look at I wish I could buy everything in there. I did purchase a small travel pillow and blanket because sometimes I work very late night on my job so I sleep in my car sometimes. The people there are always very nice and they always treat me like they have known me forever. Im not really a big fan of sleeping in my car but when I do I usually go there it just seems like a place of safety to me. They also have nice restrooms a truckers lounge and a shower. So everything you need is right there.

Im glad I decided to take my 10 hour here. Because the food in the BLACK BEAR Diner definitely makes this 5 stars. I had the salmon over spinach and it was delicious

Nice Petro! Cars and trucks welcome, big parking lot for cars in front with a separate fuel island off to one side.. The truck parking is in the rear and its very large..Inside the store is hat coffee, drinks and snacks, also gifts and necessary traveling items..Attached to the store is the Iron Skillet Restaurant that serves good 24 hours a day.. They also have a buffet but I did not look or ask what was on it.Good atmosphere and good food..

The White brother and beautiful black sister there made my day on 9/17/19 at 9.30pm. They got the best bodain in the world. God bless you.

Clean restrooms but theres only 3 stalls. When you have 200 parking spaces they are bound to be occupied all day and night so good luck.We arent going to really talk about the fuel island bathroom.

Worse shop Ive ever been in. Inexperienced mechanic & filthy. A $363 oil change ended up costing me over $1200. No standards on mechanics experience but yet they have standards on road service guys paperwork. & The only reason they got 1 🌟 is because you have to choose at least one

Trucker here. The showers need a major renovation. Instead of replacing the toilet seats in the showers, they just taped the broken ones back together, which is extremely unhygienic. The black Bear diner is a great addition. The food is much better than any Iron Skillet for around the same price. Basically, only stop here for the food, not the showers until they remodel.

There would give more stars, but the restaurant rating brings it way down. I am a truck driver, so I sat in the truck drivers section. Most of the counter and tables were dirty. There seemed to be no worker working there. Then a woman that had been sitting at the counter said that she was off the clock would help me anyway, then she explained; a team was here. I accepted this accuse at first, and she gave me my drink and a menu. Then about 5 min. later a team of young women walked out. Finally 3 waitresses came from where the team had been. One waitress for my section appeared in front of my dirty spot, slapped down a napkin and silver, and asked me for my order. I asked her to wipe my spot. She huffed and then wiped. Now realize that all the other dirty spots had no one at them anymore. I realize why she not getting it clean. She was also the cashier. The cook/manager yelled for the other servers to help her but they didnt. I started to feel bad for her until a few moments later the restaurant slowed down. I finally got my overcooked undersize steak, when other servers came over to my section and chit chatted with this waitress. They ignored the customers, they left the mess. The rest of the travel shop was clean and nice.

Sent here by my employer for fuel. Normally I fuel at the competition. But I suspect my employer wanted feedback on how the drivers are treated.The answer is not very good. The fuel island appeared to have not been cleaned in the past ten years. Concrete in the parking lot was continuously broken up from a complete lack of common sense when it comes to providing a good base to support the concrete so it doesnt break. Mudholes are rampant in spite of being a paved lot. Why is it once you get outside of the Midwest, nobody knows how to do concrete properly?I get fuel and try to get a shower. I am told that showers are only for members. I inquire as to what is required to become a member of this elite disaster. I have to apply for a member card. I do that over the phone and find out that it will be mailed to my address. Nice. I wont be home for two more weeks. I try to explain that to the manager, but she claimed that it was company policy and there was nothing she could do despite my holding a fuel receipt showing that I had fueled within the last hour. But I can get a shower the next time after I receive the member card. Everything is controlled by a computer and the computer is too smart for her. You think?Screw them. I went to the Pilot down the road where I dont have to jump through hoops and be treated as a fourth class customer just to get a shower. I let my employer know as well. This is an excellent example of how to lose business to the competition at a very high rate.By the way, the card did arrive two weeks later. Which doesnt help when I wanted a shower two weeks previously. It is at home being used as a coaster and may find future use as a shim.

The Black Bear located here is great. Breakfast all day and huge amounts of food for a good price.

Had a repair done on one of our trucks and their price was surprisingly fair. Prompt and professional service. Nice store, too. Well be working in the area for a while so will definitely be stopping here more often.

No longer a real Petro. Reserved parking is $18 per day. Now they have a Black Bear restaurant and you have to wait to be seated. Again, this is a poor representation of what a Petro is supposed to be.It is even more expensive than any other Petro I have been in over the last 10 years. Won’t be backNext dayIt is next morning at 0400 hrs walked up to take a shower and signs on door said showers not working 3-7 thru 3-8. Obviously it is not a breakdown issue but a manpower issue. They have no one to clean the showers so any poor driver who shows up is screwed. NEVER,EVER will I come back here, and I am reporting this bs to Petro corporate.

The food at the fuel island is the best. Always try to get in there when in town.

Quick place for a restroom stop. Clean and easy off and onto the interstate highway.

I stopped for dinner. Disappointed in not having a buffet. We didnt like the Black Bear! It is somewhat over priced for what you receive. The salad lettuce was near wilting. I give a 3 star because Nicole (our waitress) was very good! The parking lot needs work as well. Once was a good Petro to stop at, not much now!

All around friendly staff. Good diner here with over a hundred things on the menu. Lots of parking. One thing though, stay away from the repair shop here unless it is something simple like a tire change. The shop is horribly mismanaged and they are underequiped, while also having difficulty in retaining competent mechanics. I know of one that has left.

This place was horrible food was nasty and took AN HOUR TO GET OUR BREAKFAST WICH WASNT HARD TO fix a few pancakes then I had to take liquid eggs instead of shell eggs and still paid for it

Black bear cafe is awesome and one of the best places for breakfast food in the. Wailing area. Highly recommend going but be hungry when you get there.

Black Bear is open. Got there at 2:30 and sitted after a 10 minute wait. Service was then prompt. Tisha did a great job and advise well on the menu. Food was good and hot when served.

Good iron skillet, the chicken and dumplings off the buffet is good. Mrs. Polly at the fuel desk is really nice too. Clean and paid parking in the front. Cracker barrel across the street. Papaduex and hotels within walking distance.

Plenty of everything the OTR trucker may need. Open lot with plenty of easily accessible spaces.Excellent stop for a quick in-out or a 10hr break.Stay safe and keep the shiny side up.

I guess these truck stops feel as tho there shouldnt be home cooked meals anymore. Burger and fries is whats for dinner with these clowns with Obesity on the rise and drivers with health issues youd think that theyd have healthier choices for guys and girls that spend majority of there day behind a steering wheel. Get rid of the unhealthy fast food bring home cooked meals back be a leader not a follower

Ok the restaurant is called black bear. The food is really good... but the only person that was not too busy to help was Norral. He did a great job but everyone else leave a lot to be desired.

I am a truck driver, Truck Stops are for drivers to stop, Sleep fuel and eat. I decided to stop and try the new Big Bear restraunt that replaced the Iron Skillet. Well i think every one from Beaumont is in there, there were at least 20 people waiting for a table, There were never people waiting at the iron skillet. But unless you want to spend several hours between waiting and eating you go get back in your truck and go elsewhere. Good Job Petro put a restaurant in place of the Iron Skillet. Shut them down early, This is a truck stop except for buying discounted fuel, I wont spend another dime in again. WTF a truck stop you cant get anything to eat in unless you want to wait all night. Thank god for Flying J and Dennys and there 24 hour. That is where I went and will continue to go. Still cant get over a truck stop that dont cater to drivers. I cant understand why you closed a perfectly good restaurant with buffet.

Mixed thoughts. Was clean, great staff (minus the fuel island early crew. Very rude), in spot with other businesses for dining, hotels, etc. Good spot to reset hours. Need to address the homeless fellow though. Very annoying, and he tries to be.

Clean parking lot (Trucker speaking) could do with less reserved spots though. Inside the fuel bay store they have a hot food menu.. but only serve like 4 things on it.. kind of a let down. Otherwise super clean stores(including the larger one) super friendly staff and clean restrooms (always a must)

Rough parking lot. Only been in the fuel desk area not the big store. The place looks really old. They are remodeling the big store. Nice friendly staff. The fuel store has a deli with hamburgers, chicken strips,tater tots, turkey legs and some other stuff. Not a bad place just looks rough and dated.

Careful not to lose your truck in one of the many holes. One I hit at low speeds sent everything in my truck flying, glad I dont treat a parking lot like a race track like some do. Between picking up all my stuff and calming my poor terrified dog down I promised I wouldnt purchase anything here if they cant turn loose of a few dollars to fill in some craters in the parking lot.

Id avoid this place if its ever your fuel stop unless you like rude talking under theyre breath employees. A cashier had a major attitude and snatched stuff out of my hand for no reason. I guess in this area they hire anyone that doesnt have customer service skills.Teach your employees to keep theyre talking to themselves if youre going to talk about customers.The lady refused to give her name and no name on receipt. I guess so she cant get in trouble. She was rude the second I walked in. I went to buy a few items. She bagged the others and left one out. Which I was fine with. Then said what? You want a bag for that to?! I said no while she snatched money out of my hand and said Here! while she threw the receipt.Nice way to see how people in this area are. Which I wont ever miss coming back.

The ladies at big bear restaurant were really nice & accommodative compare to any other TA operated restaurant where servers are rude & make you feel like theyre doing you a favor. Also, very clean store & showers. Thanks TA Beaumont

Extremely dissatisfied at the level of customer service here at the Tire center. I’ve stopped here before to get my trailer lights fixed and it took 4 mechanics to solve the issue. As i got about down i10, the issue occurred again as if nothing was fixed. Came back the next day to get same issue fixed and a different mechanic was able to fix it. Then walked into the shop on a Saturday for them not to have the part i need as well as no mechanic to work on as i was looking at mechanics in the shop. Definitely horrible service and if no mechanic then they shouldn’t be open!

The closest station that accepts my Phillips 66 gas card I won from survey. Best in the area!

They have closed the Iron Skillet restaurant. They are putting in what is called The Black Bear Diner. Its very expensive. Been to the same restaurant in another state. $11 for three pancakes. I truly wish that TA/Petro would leave things well enough alone!!

Are usually really like going to Petro for supper. Especially on Sunday but here lately the Ribeyes that I get arent cooked right. The meat is watery and it dont have any taste to it. The cook did say that there was a new cut that he was getting some somewhere else. And that they usually cut their own me they just havent been cutting through a box. Like I said its usually one of my favorite places to eat. But I have been having problems with the steak thank you you have a good day

The clerk treated me like a thief. She must get a lot of stuff stolen from there. Not a good atmosphere at all And 2 little light bulbs for my cars blinker was gonna cost $24.99I said NO THANKS! Ill just wait till I get somewhere else. Glad I waited. I bought the same 2 bulbs at the Exxon on College for $2.49, that was after taxes.Petro is a Rippp - Off!!!!

Screwed up the restaurant. No longer for truckers. Wont be back. Went in hungry, left hungry. Brought my food, it was wrong. Forgot to re cook my order. This place sux.

I really enjoy the atmosphere and the waiter was very nice and to say I do not care for minestrone soup that was very delicious did not have a tomato flavor or too much which I liked.

I am a professional drive and I stopped for fuel. I walked in to use the rest room after fueling. The smell was GREAT! I thought onto the restroom, what is that great smell? I have to find out. Also, i was hungry. I checked out the deli counter after washing my hands. I believe the smell was the boudin! I ordered one. And it was great! Awesome flavor! Now everytime Im going by here--i will have to stop and get another boudin! So good!

Great place to stop after being stuck in traffic forever! Long lines for womens bathroom but such great time to talk with others. The store was well stocked and the employee at check extremely sweet.

Well, my husband and i ordered our food and while waiting we started reading these reviews. We now know that you should read the reviews BEFORE you order!!! They are all on point! The food was nasty, greasy,salty.... you name it. the bathrooms are also nasty! SO HEED THE WARNINGS OF REVIEWS!!!! IF MORE THEN 1 SAYS THE SAME THING BEWARE!! AND DONT PARK ON THE FIRE LANE IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL.... YOUR TRUCK WILL POSSIBLY BE TOWED!!! DRIVE SAFE!!

Came to get coffee and use the restroom. Coffee was empty and when we left we were followed out of the store and accused of stealing! The purple haired old lady behind the counter sent someone after us whos been to the Pen twice.Do yourself a favor and stay on I-10 East for 10 more minutes and go to the Pilot right off the highway. All their coffees were full, and the employees were professional. Thanks for staying classy, Pilot!

Very disappointed Black Bear Diner was closed at 3 a.m.! Dont even try to call yourself a TRUCK STOP IF YOU DONT HAVE A 24 HOUR RESTAURANT!
