The rosemary sea salt bagel. Best bagel I’ve ever had, probably. Barista suggested a honey almond latte which was also delicious! Spacious with comfortable seating inside and out, on a quiet street…the perfect place for a cuppa.

Populace coffee is your quintessential third-wave coffee shop. They not only take time and care in preparing the drip, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos etc, but they also roast the coffee and sell it in retail bags so you can craft it at home.Clean shop, great coffee, tasty food. More than enough reason to try this place.

Great classic coffee shop! Modern feel with vintage touches engulfs you with warmth of coffee and friends. Friendly barista with great technique! Very big room almost Intimidating, but sit, relax, and be pulled in with good sounds, interesting people... And Great Coffee!! Had a great chocolate chip cookie, too! Oh yeah, good stuff!

My husband and I love Populace Coffee! I had a surprise 30th birthday party for him there a few years ago and it was amazing! They were so accommodating with everything and the owner is incredibly nice!PC is such a cozy little place, especially in the winter with their AMAZING hot chocolate! No seriously, Ive never had better hot chocolate than theirs and Ive tried quite a few! I also enjoy their lattes. Theyre not too sweet which is great!10/10 would recommend if you want an adorable, comfortable place to have coffee and a snack!!!

Wanting to try one of many Bay City coffee shops, we settled on this one. The inside was not expected: very open and minimalistic. Not liking cramped spaces, this didnt bother me one bit. The menu on the wall was also pretty sparse; however, the friendly barista whipped up a Caramel Latte in no time. My black coffee was strong and acceptable (there was a small hole on the side of my biodegradable cup!). The bakery items were all fresh baked in the morning and the Peanut Butter cookie was very good. A bit pricey but little to complain about.

Hands down the best coffee I have ever had. Its smooth and doesnt taste burnt like other popular brands out there. I love that they support local, and they make all of their baked goods in house! The bagels are fantastic, and they even consider those who are dairy free with carrying vegan cream chees. I cannot recommend the Honey Lavender Latte enough. It is a must try when its on the seasonal menu!

Having had the opportunity to do a bit of traveling i have to say that Populace would be in my top 10 cafes to visit.Populace sources and roasts their own coffee which it also sales by the bag.The coffee varietals change with the season so dont expect to see the same selections day in and day out. Dont expect to see any gimmicky drinks here Populace is tailored for those who seek a direct relation between farm, roasting facility, and the talented Baristas.The atmosphere of populace is very welcoming modern and open. The location offers enough seating for those looking to have some quiet time, along with a very nice long table up front that serves as a communal area.Populace is definitely a go to destination I highly recommend starting a conversation with a barista whom would be more than happy to walk you through the varietal coffee at hand along with any upcoming sipping/pouring classes.

The woman that served me was really friendly. The tea I ordered was delicious as well as the cookies I tried. Theres wifi, good seating, good ambiance, would recommend this place, kinda wish I lived closer to it.

I like the ambiance and the coffee. I wish I could say I still feel safe inside there like I did last month. The tall skinny new gentleman working yesterday and today cant seem to keep his mask on in front of customers, and often wears it under his mouth. As a result I dont feel safe spending time inside there when he is working.

If you’re looking for great coffee and service this is the place to go. Friendly warm environment. The establishment roasts everything and it’s fresh.The owner Andrew is knowledgeable and if you have the chance, talk to him. The espresso was fantastic, one of the best I’ve had.

Usually good but recently my ice coffees havent been that good. They are made inconsistently. I feel like I have an iced milk with a flavor shot of coffee.

I met a few people here for a meeting, the setting is great for anything. This place is great for quiet studying or a nice meeting. I had the matcha tea latte, it was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Cute place and Id certainly go back! The man working was SO helpful with explaining what drinks were and super friendly.

This place is incredible. I do not live in Michigan anymore but EVERY TIME I visit Bay City, I have to stop in. The coffee and other items are no-frills, wholesome products — I mean, they roast their own beans. They have a fantastic marketing model that is classic yet still trending on the millennial vibe! I used to be a die-hard H and H customer, but since Populace opened its doors again I’ve completely flipped my loyalty. The Bay City location has a large, open space great for homework or relaxing. Thank you for providing such a great product at a very reasonable price! Keep smiling!

I love good coffee and boy, does this place have it. We went on their 1 year anniversary celebration for a free drink and it was so smooth, flavorful, and overall delicious. The Pumpkin Latte was superior to most others Ive tried. The atmosphere inside is a beautiful open, tall space. I heard they even roast their own beans in town which makes me all the happier to support them!

This place is an authentic coffee and tea house. No gimmicks, just genuine coffee and tea. Served in the very best way. The way they serve coffee from real coffee and tea cups brings the experience to feelings and emotions. This has good vibes and good light, will definitely come back and I will make sure to tell everyone to try this place.

What a spectacular addition to the downtown the community in Bay City! The coffee is soooo good. The initial feeling I get walking in this coffeehouse is pleasant, due to the atmosphere and layout. This place is also perfect for students to study, or for anyone to get work done if they work online. Its also a great meeting place for people to hang out and chat, etc. One of the owners I was able to connect with was definitely a caring person, and hard working. I cant recommend this place enough, and will be showing my ongoing support for them.

Visited for Tall Ships and found this place. It’s like a modern mom and pop Starbucks with great ambiance. They have delicious coffee and the BEST gluten free baked goods I’ve ever had!!

Great coffee. Great interior design. It was quite and peaceful. The workers were friendly and answered all my questions about their various coffees happily. Deffinately recommend this place, the coffee is top notch too.

Its a very cute shop with a minimalist theme, and has lots of room for growth. If the owner is there, ask him about his Dwight Schrute and Michael Scott bobble heads.Edit: I forgot to add that they have a wooden table that looks like its taped back together, but the tape is MORE WOOD. I love it and I want to own this table.

Nice comfy place with great coffee. The only knock I have against it are the hours.This is just my opinion, but if they want to compete with other local coffee shops, theyll need to be competitive with their hours. At this point, there isnt anything that is making this place stand out MORE than Harless and Hugh or Adventure coffee. In fact, due to the hours, Ill probably up at H&H 99% of the time.

Maybe they are having a bad day the bagel was toasted but soggy. The coffee was awful and the staff was crabby! I took two sips and two bites and threw in the trash bye bye $10!!
