Just been transported back to my home address the guy had come from ellesmere port great bloke and get me back to oldham.Really good professional attitude helpful carnt thank RAC and there Engineers enough.Would recommend this service to everyone in the future really grateful even accommodated my great Pyrenees dog who was terrified as it was bonfire night. Thanks Mark Walton
Pathetic service, over 4 hours wishing after being told 2! Then when you ring you have to deal with a patronising bell end and still end up none the wiser! Used to be outstanding but just take peoplesMoney now with nothing coming back, avoid like the plague
Excellent service, weve had to call the RAC out the last couple of days due to our car alarm randomly going off. Both Peter and Andy who helped us out were not only professional but both went above and beyond what was expected of them. They explained what they were checking, they were both very polite, repectful and true gentlemen. Thank you.
Absolute joke of a rescue service. Logged a call with them at 10am to be recovered from North Wales. A local firm then contacted me to say the RAC want them to deal with the recovery but they will only take my car to a local yard. Anyway 14 hours later I finally got recovered by sorting someone else out to come and get me. RAC didnt care at all. Ill be going back to the AA who I have always had a good experience with.
I got car insurance from these excuses for a few weeks, apparently when I submitted my details I didnt tell them about a claim that never went through but was still on a system somewhere in space, the non claim was from 2017, 4 years ago, it never went through as I withdrew it. I sent them the proof from my old insurers..... BUT, RAC in their infinite wisdom, wanted to charge me another 200 quid still for something that didnt happen! Absolute joke, oh and they thought they were doing me a favour for not charging me anymore for the 2 weeks cover I had already had. Policy cancelled!!!!!! Found cheaper and more cover, thank you RAC you did me a favour in the long run. AVOID, If I could give no stars I would!!
Absolutely 💯 shocking 😳 ServiceBroke - down on M6 - told up to 2 hours- 4 hours later Im still waiting ✋.......What a joke!!!!Ive Rang them a pew times to find out how long etc... and they just dont want to know at all - customer service 0 they dont care about you and there just not interested 😒Shockingly bad - DO NOT USE
These are brilliant so fast and sorted my car straight away.I have 12 months complimentary with my car but im definitely upgrading to the full cover.Well worth it.Im definitely recommend to my family and friends
3 hours waiting in a dangerous busy roundabout, didn’t care at all, joke of a company, PLEASE DONT USE.
Would be nice if they kept me updated to let me know that there would be a delay. Thats where they lost a star. The mechanic that came was lovely. He was able to sort the car out within 15mins and I was on my way again. Pay the extra for the piece of mind.Becky xxx
Over 4.3 hours and still waiting . Total joke. Looks like I am going to here for a few more hours
I am not interested to hear about Covid or listen to recorded messages when I break down. The RAC used to be fantastic, now they are just a bunch of sissy pretenders.
AVOID AROUND MANCHESTER!!Broke down twice in the space of two weeks. Left waiting for 5 hours and then 9 hours till 2:30am!!! Absolute joke of a company, had to subcontract the recovery out then tried to charge me £100 to take.to garage the next day. Seriously, do not use this company for breakdown.
Just had a flat pulling out from Home. Booked an online call out and Connor was with me in less than 15 minutes to temporarily repair my tyre. Great professional service and a pleasant young man. Thank you Connor and the RAC
Lone female with 2 young children currently on a 2 hour 20 wait (up to 5 hours), side of a slip road, 25 degree plus heat, waiting for help. Was text saying 90 mins, apparently in error, so still waiting. Never again and I thought the AA were bad
An absolute joke of a company, initially told me it was going to be up to 45 minutes, after waiting 2 hours then it was, 4 minutes, after waiting 15 minutes then it was 2 minutes away, after waiting another 10 minutes it was 5 minutes away. Still here on the motorway and never again will I use rac.
Broke down on our way back from Wales with a flat tyre. RAC was fantastic we was back on our travels within the hour
So far been in good hands since joined with them happy with their service and efforts. Its a positive journey so far.
Worst service Iver ever experienced. Left myself and my partner with our 7 year old daughter and 4 month old baby stranded on the side of a busy a road in rush hour traffic for ages, told me it would be 5 hours before anyone was with us and that I should call 999 instead (nothing 999 could do but I phoned them anyway). I then rang rac back and was told we were priority and someone would be with us in 45 minutes. 20 minutes later a recovery vehicle arrived and hardly spoke two words to us. He put the car on the back and told us to just hold the baby between us as there were only two seat belts in the back four seats. Of course we secured the children rather than ouraelves. He then took us less than 3 miles to a service station and told us he was dropping us there and to wait for the next guy to arrive to sort the car. I have full breakdown cover which includes onward travel and recovery to home. He left us 30 miles from home with two young children. Upon phoning several times to the rac they were less than useless saying that the next guy would be half hour to 45 minutes and that was it. We waited a further 5 and a half hours till the guy came to fix the car (this guy was from fuel doctor and NOT the rac and he was absolutely fantastic, check my other review for the incredible service that man provided us). I broke down at 5.25pm, the rac left us stranded till gone midnight with a baby and a young child, we got home at 2.25am. If you have children then please do not use the RAC, theyre utterly useless and will not give a flying damn about leaving you out in the middle of nowhere with young children! This above is an example of their priority service.
This is the second time Ive used (or tried to use) them in the past 5 years.First time I had a friend with me with greenflag, who arrived in 30 mins with a recovery truck. RAC at this point hadnt even given an estimated time. This time I have a seized injector on the m6.Its now 4 hours later and their estimated time is still another 2 hours.I had to beg the road work recovery unit to move me and the vehicle to a safe place. So total time from brakedown to recovery is 6.2 hours.I could of walked to where I need to be in that time.I will be leaving RAC after today.
Brilliant service, Adam who came to my aid was fantastic, a professional who went above and beyond to help me. I cannot thank him enough he was very helpful, explained everything and really did a wonderful job.
Shocking. Pay over £300 a year and been waiting 4 1/2 hours currently for someone to attend. Not even a phone call. Advertised as getting you back on the road in 90 minutes, but don’t believe it. Stay clear.
Still waiting 5 hours upto.... had to ring back to see whats happening as no contact.. to be told Im not on the wait list haha... shocking just had a msg someone will be with me in 40 depending on traffic.
We were so impressed with our RAC rescue. We were told by a customer adviser that someone from their team will be with us within 1.5 hrs. We were then so pleasantly surprised when the friendly RAC man waved at us from his van within 5 mins of the phone call! He resolved the problem in no time, was knowledgeable and very considerate with the distancing measures and the fact that it was raining! Fab service and, of course, very pleased that our car issue was resolved promptly.
Unfortunately, cant give a lower star. Save yourself agony and go back to AA. They towed my car and left me on a motorway. They said they will send a taxi to pick me up. After waiting a very long time, eventually I had to call my wife to come and rescue me!😬😬😬.
Hi was a pleasure speaking to your man he was very polite just left key on step and pick them up just to keep the minimum distance for covid many thanks for your quick response Ian Rushton Whitworth
Absolute shambles. Used to be the best breakdown company, now they leave customers stranded for hours. If your thinking of breakdown cover I would look elsewhere. Do not waste your money.
Attended my flat battery car within 20 minutes of my call, got car started, checked that it was keeping charged, turned out the cells were faulty and not holding charge. Battery replaced at cost only £10 more than halfords battery & fitting, with a 5 year warranty so felt it was worth it rather than having to boost again the next day and get to a shop.
One of the worst customer care I have ever experienced. The policy I took out they couldnt find on there system so had to pay a further £150 call out as well as waiting 3 hours. Still chasing my money back with no luck. Ive now gone back to the AA
This has to be the worst ever breakdown company. They lie about times for recovery and dont even inform you that their call out times are taking 5-6 hours for a call out. I was only told this after complaining to the 3rd advisor about having to wait over 2 hours that the recovery times are 5-6 hours. And the 3rd advisor said they were having to send a private company out to repair a flat tyre because they dont have anyone in the area even though im broken down in a town centre high street. She informed me that it would be another 50 minutes at least, so i rang back up 30 minutes later and the person on the phone this time couldnt give me a time for the recovery truck to turn up so this shows their advisors lie because he couldnt provide me with a recovery time. And to top this im classed as a medical emergency because of my medical issues and mobility which they are fully aware of due to my issuance being through motorbility. I finally after 3 hours waiting the private recovery company McAms rang me and informed me that their breakdown truck would take another 90 minutes at least and they couldnt take me home and i would have to get a taxi home and the recovery truck would bring my car 20 miles to my home address. What a awful experience from RAC. Their advertised times state that 4 out of 5 customers are repaired at the roadside within 30 minutes WHAT A JOKE. i must be the 5th customer. DO NOT TAKE OUT A POLICY WITH RAC or you will regret it.
I am waiting for a patrol in very cold night 5 hourse and in last masage they said i have to keep waiting another 2 hourse beacouse they are busy.
Poor service. Lots of hidden costs and not very clear about whats included. Very unhelpful and not worth getting cover with. Will be cancelling ang going elsewhere now.
The 6 Plus claim I did none off themes was resolve. And the last time I made a phone call to the customer service confronted themes about why the mechanic didnt fix my car if problem was not a big deal. The operate hung up the phone in my face
My Van broke down when I ask for help! They gave me answer your van doesnt cover because you use it for commercial purposes! And I,ve been paying them for 2 years.not happy!
Long wait 2 + hours but man was lovely and very helpful
Awful service took them a total of over 19 hours to get my vehicle towed a matter of 4 miles. No communication between workers and been pretty much lied to about recovery time.
1st time Ive asked for help today.4.5 hrs later, Im still waiting.9 text messages: apologising, excuses etc.Telephoned, 20 mins. on hold. Lady (in Manchester) sounded unconfident: transferred me, which put me back on hold, then cut me off!2nd phone call, told the current estimate was a further 2hrs till attendance.Escalated to the Customer Solutions Centre, who apparently are telephoning me ASAP.I will be lodging a full complaint: asking for a pro-rata refund, compensation, and cancellation of my policy.AVOID!!!
Spot on came promptly and found fault with battery straight away, and swapped out with no fuss

Everytime Ive used the RAC ive always been impressed by their services.
Unfortunately wait in Edinburgh city centre 3 hours for help. RAC woman Anna come and she not even bother to turn van engine off and proper check . Not nice and angry because we ask for help . Another few hours wait for towing. Not recommended and move to AA next month.
Absolutely rubbish. Customer service is a joke, the Stretford building has poo on the walls on various places. I dont think they care about hygiene or health and safety.
Cant fault this company at all. Both James and Daniel have come to help on separate occasions and were FAB. I cant rate them enough. Thanks RAC.
Experienced rude man from RAC on two occasions had the same man come out to my car first occasion my undertray on my car was nearly falling off never attempted to secure had to drive to a garage and nearly had an accident!!second time had my tyre change and advised me that my car was falling to pieces was extremely rude and took my car to the garage and my car was ok.Complained to customer service and they said that they cant do anything and just apologised this isnt good enoughDONT USE RAC VERY POOR SERVICE!!!
Call centre staff and patrolman I couldnt fault. The only problem I had was that my engine management light was on and that the patrol guys diagnostic machine wouldnt work so he advised me not to drive the car and get it to a main dealer, hows that work? For the money you pay I would expect better service.
Disappointed & let down.I am member with RAC for last 6 months butt asked for recovery last night & waited for 5 hours. After 4 times call received response that I have to pay £560 more to get recovery to garage which is just 1 mile away from breakdown.RAC sent me a third party mechanic from Leeds TF SMITH who didn’t even know where to plug small computer to find fault . Disappointed .had to leave my vehicle overnight unsafe because RAC didn’t leave any option for me after 5 hours wait everything shut down.Butt THANKS AA BREAK DOWN AND RECOVERY CALLED THEM NEXT DAY ARRIVED WITHIN 35 minutes took it garage got it fixed. JOB DONEWon’t trust RAC .
Left me stranded because I was in a van altho they cover vans
I dont need to tell you how important a part these guys play, great service!
Came out very fast to me.
We have a mix experience due to a breakdown a few weeks ago. The recovery service provided by RAC via their contractor was inefficient and took triple the time advised. Also the recovery didnt drop off to the house and left the car with two adults and two under 16s at a so called convenient spot, 8 miles from home, this added another 24 hours for the car to be taken home. This resulted in a family member picking up all occupants and bringing them home and for the recovery to be rearranged for the following day as the delays were just not acceptable and we didnt want to be sitting around all night in the cold.
Dont waste your money go with the AA.Totally unprofessional - senior management dont care - only interested in taking money.GO WITH THE AA.
Absolutely shocking.Your selling commercial cover but have no vehicles that can pick up vans.I call and tell you to send a recovery truck to save time messing around and you send a vehicle too small to toe my van.I called at 2:30pm to be told that I had to wait till 8pm to be picked up.This is not the first time either on another occasion I was left untill 11pm at night in the middle of no where because you have no toe trucks.Iv been a member with the AA before never had any problems. The RAC are miss selling commercial hire they do not have recovery trucks they have lil vans to toe cars and sub the other work out.I will be calling complaints and asking for my money back for miss selling commercial cover I do not expect to pay for commercial vehicle cover to have vans that can only toe cars sent out.If you wanted a wall building I wouldn’t send you somebody who can only repoint it how do you run a business this way
Fast, efficient, friendly, informative, respectful
PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE.I had an issue with my vehicle and made the mistake of calling the rac to recover my car. I simply needed the car recovered back to my home address so the fairly simple repairs could have been undertaken. These repairs would have cost around £135. After the actions of the patrolman Bryan the repair bill eventually came to just over £1000. After weeks of arguing with Michelle Jeffries in the customer care team the end result was they admit no responsibility and wont even contribute to the cost. I have had reports from various audi dealers and specialists to back up my argument but they just wont listen. My advice call anybody else before you call the rac they have no idea of how to treat a vehicle.
Dont register with this rac you will regret it waste of money and time trust me i had membership with them and we were stuck somewhere at lake district side our car tyres poped cz of something on the road it was really quite and dangerous where we got stuck and it was hard finding signals to call and when i finnaly got connected they kept extending time, made me wait 6 hours eventhough they knew it was getting dark and we had kids under 4 years with us we had no food or nappies, but they didnt do anything to help us but extend time and kept us waitinging👎🤬
Absolutely a disgrace of a company. Was told I have full cover. On car and bikes. My motorcycle clutch cable snapped. I told them this. I said I know a garage that will fix it and I need recovery. 2:30pm was my breakdown. First van turned up at 6:00pm and was told he can do anything. Need a another van to recover me. Second van didn’t turn up till after 10:00pm. Not one phone call from the RAC. Was told when I signed up they never subcontract out their work. Which is a LIE. The second recovery truck was a subcontractor. Got dropped at a garage and was told got to find my own way home. It’s almost midnight and I’m only just getting home from a breakdown that started 11 hours ago. No customer care. They just want your money and don’t care about you. AVOID
Broke down twice in 3 months, 1st time it took them nearly 4 hours to arrive despite the roads being empty due to corona virus lockdown. Broke down last night at 8.00 called the Rac and they still were not out by 10.50 when i called them back to say i was getting a taxi home and said for them to sort it in the morning. Then i got a call at 11.30pm by a 3rd party recovery truck company but i was already home and in bed by then. I have emailed RAC and askem to cancel my subscription and refund what months i have left.
Good old RAC services.Very nice chappie . Very quick service, even with the terrible weather.Sadly they had to replace the battery.Highly recommended
As a recovery company I have no bad experience, but when it comes to their membership renewals, they could do so much better. Despite encouraging clients to maintain an online account and instigate all changes online, there is NO online link to stop a renewal. There could easily be a hyperlink to a I dont wish to renew option. Instead you must phone, will be offered a lot of menus, be placed on hold and ultimately speak to an operative who is paid a commission for you to stay. Disappointing hard sell which is entirely unnecessary.
My call was taken immediately and RAC technician arrived within 2 hours to fix my vehicle. Technician was knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Excellent all round
Been with the RAC on and off for the past 10+ years. Whenever I have needed to use them, I have always found their technicians to be very professional and very knowledgeable. I went with another company for one year and they just sent anyone out from a local garage, it wasnt great. You know what you are getting with the RAC - top service and top people.
My tire exploded so I rang the RAC the women on the phone was very rude but she gave me an hour waiting time, which I thought was very good ... an hour past I rang back and was told it’s a 3-4 hour waiting time from the first point of contact, that was at 17:30.22:00 came around and I rang back to be hung up on.22:30 a call from the mechanic, who let me be clear is the saving grace of RAC, he was helpful, fast and friendly. Couldn’t have been kinder the 4 stars are for him.
If you own a car then give them a call for roadside assistance
First time I’ve had to use my breakdown cover and will definitely be switching companies. Car battery was dead at a train station around midnight and didn’t have leads to jumpstart the car so called the RAC. They told me they will be around 90 minutes and they will message me when they are on their way. I informed them we had a 5 month year old baby and it was raining so asked if they could be prompt. After waiting for 2 hours and not hearing anything I tried to call twice and could not get through so ended up leaving the car and getting an Uber home. I finally heard from RAC at 6am in the morning saying they will be there in half an hour! I would have appreciated it if they at least told me that would be the ETA that at the start and I would have just taken a taxi home and sorted it out later instead of waiting without any response from them in the rain at midnight with a baby
Thank you rac for repairing my Saab, which did not take the mechanic more like 60 seconds and the car came back to work again. And would like to thank the mechanic who drove his car and followed me 35 miles to make sure that my car worked well.16/03/19 Manchester
WORST RECOVERY EVER. I HAD MY VAN BROKEN DOWN TODAY. I CALLED THE RAC AND SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLES CANNOT BE FIXED ON THE ROAD SIDE AND IT NEED TO BE TOWED TO THE GARAGE WAITED 2 AND HALF HOURS RAC SHOWED UP WITH JUST A SMALL VAN. I HAVE TO CALL THEM AGAIN TO ARRANGE FOR THE TOWING TRUCK WHICH I BELIEVED THEY ARRANGED WITH MANSFIELD RECOVERY WAITED SINCE 18:10 AND I AM STILL WAITING. NO PHONE CALLS OR ANY UPDATES WHAT SO EVER PLUS I HAD TO CALL THEM UP TO ASK FOR AN UPDATES WHILE THEY SHOULD BE CALLING ME AND I AM STILL WAITING NOW ITS 00:20 YOU DO THE MATHS. ITS COMPLETELY OUT OF ORDER......
Just want to thank the RAC for the amazing service and help and amazing communication with me in a time of need. They sent out a subcontractor that was actually so helpful for me. Here the review for Bride Valley Recovery in Salisbury. Thanks again RACI just want to thank this amazing company for helping me out so much in such a difficult situation.Friday morning stig came to pick up my van from East Knoyle to Oldham Lancashire. I couldn’t drive it because I’ve badly damaged my lower back and needed to get back home to get hospital scans and sorted. After a heavy dose of drugs i got in stigs recovery truck and started what to be a 7 hour journey with one stop. Stig made the journey such an ease as we both shared really funny stories lmao. And went out of his way constantly to make my back pain more comfortable avoiding pot holes and speed bumps and just being an all around top guy!He met and greeted my family and he was properly looked after from us.Stigs such a credit to this business!Hope the 5/6 hour journey back in the storm wasn’t to bad fella, thanks for everything matey hope you have a class weekend and a drink on me!
Dont bother! Useless! Got told it would be 90 mins max. 4 hours later Im still waiting with them saying they will see what they can do maybe another hour dont waste you money.
Had a break down in our campervan whilst away on holiday, arrived within 45 minutes & took us to the nearest garage. Couldnt fault the service or garage they took us to. We were on our way within 3 hours.
I received terrible customer service from this organisation. They dumped my car in a garage they said was approved. Along with this it was claimed would get 20% RAC member discount from that company. When I went to the garage the next day, they had no knowledge of my vehicle and said they werent aware that they were approved by the RAC.I contacted the RAC and advised them of this. The call taker said if I want the car to be transported to another garage, they would send someone to transport it. I looked for garages locally then found one that was actually approved by the RAC. I called the RAC back and they claimed no knowledge about the transfer of the vehicle. This would have meant paying the RAC £80 to where they should have took the car in the first place.Note that their call centre can take a long time to answer a call and the centre number doesnt fall under unlimited calls on your mobile tariff. This added £15 to my mobile phone bill.I complained to the company and they responded I am truly sorry to hear that the service you received on 24 May 2019 fell below the standard that you expect from RAC. I thought this was patronising as it wasnt what I EXPECT but what I was advised (sold).Ive been customer of the RAC on and off for years, through my bank and insurance policy. After this treatment Ill never entertain this company again and will advise others to do the same. This is the first time Ive ever called them out.Ive never been with any other vehicle recovery service, so any advice and recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks!
Stranded on the side of the A1m with my son and dog in the dark for nearly 5 hours after initially been told it would be 45 minStill sat here at 2:10 am son now in foil blanket going hyperthermic!!
Absolutely brilliant, a van arrived within an hour of calling, and we had Stewart who was an absolute star. Managed to get us sorted by the roadside and saved our holiday to Scotland!
They came to a fit a battery on my car.Their machine wouldnt work. They sent me a threatening letter a week later even though it was a first request.I made payment promptly but i mistakenly paid twice.ie 2x140They havent given me the payment back despite frequent requests in writing. No explanation.Having to take them to courtDisgrace
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!!!Left us stranded for 10 hours on the M6, with three young children in the car.I will be cancelling and moving to AA.
Car breakdown on sunday night,GARAGE not open cause by pandemic, days later ask to tow to garage to repair, told 1 tow per break down and ask for 100 pounds for tow 800 meters.
Shocking service. Never go for this
Really great service. Happy with RAC
Good fast, reliable and friendly service.
My tyres was slashed and when I tried to get to the garage the battery was dead. Really friendly, professional guy from RAC fixed both fast. Great service thanks
Broke down at 5.30 PM... eventually turned up at 01.36 am .. I was on my own, single female. Really let down by the RAC. Been a member since 2004 and this is the first time Ive ever used them
Lovely and friendly beers top. Canal at the rear all day fishing caught a car tyre. Worst my line reel snapped. And tyre, was bald.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY JOINING.It look them 9 hours to get me home. (60 miles))One pickup truck left me at the services and I waited for 4 hours. When I complained they suggested leaving my car and car keys at the services and getting me a taxi to a hire car place to drive my-self home. They couldnt say when the car could be towed home! The car had been dumped by them on a coach parking space and was undriveable.I told them this was not acceptable, so they said they could send a recovery truck to arrive in another 2 hours.I rang them first at 2.30pm and arrived home at mid-night.Ive been in the AA before and they are brilliant, I would never join the RAC again!
First called at 8pm, its 9am next day and we still sitting in our car. Horrible.
Was given a 90 minutes waiting time, got call within 10 minutes agent was there within 20
Utterly shambolic and complete horror story of customer care. Broke down in a remote area of the Pennines at 6,45pm in a very precarious spot for myself and other driver. 15 phone, calls later, 6 different recovery times spanning 8,30pm to 2am, an additional charge of £130 after a 4 hour wait, South Yorkshire Police needing to get involved and stranded for a total of 11 hours only 24 miles from home, I finally arrived home at 5am this morning. Uncaring, poorly trained, profit over customer and passing the blame to their contractors (that they contract)! Never again RAC.
Very efficient and speedy recovery
Lied about me needing a new battery.
10000% NOT RECOMMENDED... On the 16th June my sons car wouldnt start and instead of calling me he felt it best to contact the R.A.C. He had no cover with yourselves but called you anyway. The adviser said it would cost £175 call out with a years breakdown cover. The mechanic diagnosed that the car needed a new starter motor, bumped started the car and sent him on his way. My son took it to our local garage who changed the starter motor as advised from the R.A.C. to find that the starter motor infact didnt need replacing at all and that it was something else entirely. So by now my son (whos a struggling student by the way) has paid £175 to the R.A.C plus £40 for being told its not the starter motor and he would need to take the vehicle to an electrical mechanic. It was infact the ignition that needed replacing and a further cost of £150.00. I requested my son to be given a full refund due to being given poor advise from your mechanic and a further £40 for the job that didnt need doing. If I could have given zero stars I would have but it wasnt an option. The RAC refused to acknowledge their wrongdoing and took great pleasure in ripping my son off.😖😞😓
Car was meant to be recovered yesterday and delivered in relay last night. After calling numerous times and getting a call from 1 of the recovery drivers no one knows where our car is and no one can help!!Why did we pay full coverage? It certainly wasnt so you could LOSE our car!!* UPDATE*Finally got car 3 days late, had the repair done then was told RAC wont cover it due to technicality even though we played full cover.Disgusting service and disgusting attitude to their customers.
If I could leave 0 star review I would.Just to warn people about the RAC vehicle repair cover warranty is one big scam, basically they will not pay up, their excuse to us is that the part on our car had come to the end of its working life but when we ask what they deem to be end of working life for any car part they cant answer, basically they can use this crappy wording and get out of paying so mis selling policies.SCAMMERS SO AVOID
Robbing company! Renewed my membership without even notifying me about it!
Had my mrs waiting all day. Sent 3 teams out all at seperate times said its outa there hands. Why say you have lost car key cover when you obviously havent. Still charging 200 would have gone private in the 1st place . Havent got a clue !!
Terrible bunch of blood suckers, I sold my truck and so didnt renew my cover when it ran out. I should have cancelled within 14 days apparently but didnt read the small print. I tried to explain the reason but they just wouldnt listen and sent threatening letters and insisted I pay. Id avoid this lot like the plague
Worst recovery company I have ever used from the engineer to the person who in the call center. They all very rude. I would give 0 star if it is possible. Car breakdown at home and enigeer arrived, called, asking for if they can wait for few minutes so that I can dress up. I have the reply that he doesn’t have few minutes and I need to come out now while I have been waited for 4hours! Had the feeling that they are the people who paying me and I am begging this company to do a favour for me.I will NEVER EVER use RAC again, thanks for this excellent customer service and good client skill to turn you client to Greenflag client
Helpful in cancelling an unused policy.
Switching companies after being with the rac for a few years. Two call outs in this time and both times was told the mechanic would be with me in 90 mins. Both times waiting five hours.
Shameful, disgraceful serviceThey left me stranded for 14 hours on M1
I wont be renewing and I advise people to stay away from them. I needed a new battery, they quoted me £160 round side (after a 4hour wait for them to turn up) I accepted this because although it was way over the odds becuase I needed my van the following morning. Didnt hear anything for a month until got a demand for £184. I have asked them to produce an invoice, they have failed to do so. I also asked them to explain why I am being charged 15% more than the price quoted to me at roadside, again they have failed to do this. - Dont waste your time there are far better breakdown companies out there
I bought a used car from an RAC Approved Garage. Bad Mistake! The car had many faults some dangerous. It has cost me hundreds of pounds to make useable. Worst issue is TheRAC is impossible to contact. All their numbers give choice of breakdown or insurance, insurance option says nothing to do with us. Dealer did not give me the 6 months RAC warranty promised. Dealer has not sent off the V5c. RAC website only has a form to fill in but demands the warranty number which I do not have. I have just watched the video on their website using Mike Brewer what a joke. I am going to have to take the garage and The RAC to court to resolve this as neither will talk to me. I am hoping BBC Watchdog will be interested in this mis-advertising. Please do not trust either TheRAC or their approved garage scheme as it is useless.
Absolute pile of putrid pap. Rubbish service. I originally rang to have my scooter recovered back to my house from a friends house as it would not start and wed tried everything in the book. I rang the RAC in full confidence and was in hold for 15 mins (Not too bad) and then told itd be 6 hours before anyone could come. They then suggested it be recovered the next day at an allotted time. This was bad but the WORST was yet to come. The allotted time was 7-8 but they decided to come between 6-7 instead. They told be this at half 5. My mum was mid cooking tea but had to jump in the car to drive me to my mates house. I arrive at my mates and not long after the RAC pitch up. The mechanic was worse that useless and got nowhere. If assumed that hed bring the recovery vehicle with him to be efficient but no! He then told me that the recovery vehicle will take up to 90 minutes to come but then they ring and say theyll be here inbetween 10 and 11. So now I am sat on my tired arse waiting for them. The RAC is shhhiiiittttteeeee. I thought theyd be good because they are a well known company but dont be fooled.
