Never had come to Bay City before, so I left it up to the GPS. . . For the appointment I had to get to in one hour for my cars defective airbags! Made it with 5min. to spare, so I left five stars on this trip!
I never write reviews but I have to tell you the service center at this Honda dealer was just amazing. My husband and I were leaving the U.P. on June 25th heading for home in NJ and our Passport needed an oil change. We called our local Honda dealer in NJ to arrange for this service to be done as soon as we got home but was told they couldn’t get us in until July 13th! My husband called Thelen Honda since it was on our way home to see if they could help. The service center said they could squeeze us in later that day! We arrived at 11:40 am, they did an oil change and rotated our tires and we were back on the road at 12:15! 12:15!!! We were just so appreciative and stunned with the quality of customer service extended to us, ‘the out of towners’. We felt we were give top shelf “ pit stop” quality service. A big heart felt thank you to Kyle and the entire service team at Thelen Honda. Kudos go out to Hannah Thelen, the service manager, and to the Thelen family. They lead by example. If they treated us this kindly I can’t imagine how they treat their local customers!!! Thanks again!

A review in progress! Purchased my 2011 Honda cr-z at thelen dodge ram jeep not happy with them. Thelen Honda on the other hand has so far been very good and friendly. Came in to have my wife test drive some new vehicles. We are looking to buy in the very near future. Scott the salesman was absolutely great. Not only no pressure but he also encouraged us to go test drive other brands to make sure we were getting the vehicle she wanted. While we went and test drove he printed comparisons for some of the other vehicles we were going to look at, and not just from Honda but also what the others had that the Honda did not. Pretty sure my wife is going to get the 2021 Honda passport from them. Will update as we go!Ps. Also getting oil change this morning on my cr-z hopefully all goes well. All did go well with oil change, quick and friendly.

I recently purchased a 2020 Honda Civic. Earl was beyond amazing in helping us find and purchase my vehicle. I did however have my own financing which, Shawna made it very clear she didn’t approve of! She was very clear to just sign off on those items on the tablet and how my decision was not needed for my financing.Pretty sure I almost walked away from the purchase if it wasn’t for the professionalism that Earl portrayed to me.My new vehicle is wonderful and I wanted to purchase it my way!Thank you Earl!I can’t say thank you to Shawna however and wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. That’s why it’s 4 star .I hope she realizes she can’t force people to purchase items her way in the future. And having an attitude while finalizing my purchase was uncalled for.

I love Honda. Let me get that out first and here is why: I love Honda because of Thelen Honda. My parents brought home a Honda Pilot in 2002 and Ive enjoyed the brand ever since. The brand is reliable, functional and fun. They offer a top-of-the-class model for just about every classification of vehicle. Fast forward to the present (2019), I now own two vehicles that Ive purchased from Thelen: a Fit and a CR-V. I love them both! They are fun to drive, reliable and fuel efficient. Thelen offers exceptional service whenever work is needed and I have always felt respected and appreciated. Chris will fix whatever problem you have: he is a paragon of customer service. I plan to continue buying through them.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!I was driving today (July 3rd, 2020) when the hard plastic undercarriage of my 2010 Honda Civic snapped leaving only half of it attached. The other half was scrapping against the highway. I GPS’ed the closest Honda dealer and Thelen’s pops up. 45 min drive away from my route but hey, I don’t want my car to get damaged because of this.I set course and call to let them know what happened and to expect me. I arrive to the drive-up service bay. My car is immediately seen. Only took 30 mins to remove the undercarriage. They offered to order the parts but I declined because I’m not from the area and it’s not on my route back home. They didn’t even charge for removing the undercarriage. I was expecting at lease a service charge but no.I want to thank everyone who made this possible. From the phone call, to the techs, everyone was nice and helpful— especially seeing the holiday is tomorrow and I drove up around 4:30. You made a very stressful situation into one of the best customer service experiences I could ask for. I left with a parts list so I could order from my home dealership.Simply put, your team is amazing! Again, thank you!

Chris, the service manager, is outstanding. When he pulled up my appointment he remembered details about me and my car! I live in Colorado now and the service is good enough that I still get my work done at this dealership. They always find an appointment that works for me (and I have a very poor habit of calling last minute), they are honest and dont try to tack on fixes and expenses, they are quick with their skilled work, and are friendly through the whole thing. Chris leadership is a big asset to the service department. Highly recommended!
I bought my Honda Civic from Thelen Honda in July 2008. This was my first new car. I have taken it to Thelen for every oil change and maintenance check-up. Chris McPhee is outstanding and a true asset to Honda! It is nice to have people in auto service you can trust. I do not know the names of the mechanics who have taken car of my car over the years, but they have always done a great job without having a long wait. Thelen Honda’s service department is top-quality.

Great sales experience from start to finish. If youre looking for a quality new or used car and you havent been to Thelen Honda on Euclid Avenue in Bay City, MI, you should! Blake, Patrick and Cathy made buying a car a breeze for us. Blake took time to show our kids the tech features of the car so they can (hopefully) show their parents :). Well return to Thelen next time we need a vehicle.
Everyone at Thelen Honda is always so nice and the work they do is genuinely with the extra you may pay to go here as opposed to a cheaper auto shop. Never had anything but good experiences there.

Thelen Honda helped us in an emergency and saved our family vacation last July. On the way to Traverse City, our Civic started making mysterious loud, rattling sounds and we stopped off in Bay City to see if they could diagnose the problem. We were helped immediately by Chris McPhee and his friendly team, and they informed us that the skid plate wasnt properly reattached when the car was last taken in for a check-up. The team at Thelen fixed the problem for us for free and we were back on the road within 15 minutes of arriving. Stopping here saved a lot of headache and time; we cant recommend Thelen Honda highly enough for their fantastic service and helpful staff. Thanks again, Thelen!
My purchasing experience at Thelen Honda was a very satisfactory one..... my salesman Steve Callard was most helpful in moving me in the right direction to purchase one of two vehicles that were already out there on another lot in Michigan.....I am a extremely knowledgeable customer when it comes to the product as I have been wanting to purchase a Honda Civic since 2006.....As I near my retirement age I have decided to treat myself to a stylist economical and practical Honda Civic Coupe in Aegean blue which is a spectacular color.....I couldnt pass up a purchase when I saw the new styling from 2016 and seeing how loaded the vehicle was with standard features that are very desirable.... all in all I would recommend Thelen Honda to any of my family and friends wanting to purchase a Honda product.......
I just purchased a new Accord Sport from Thelen was very pleased with the service I received. At no point did I feel pressured or feel like they were using nefarious sales tactics on me. They gave me a good deal. And a fair price for my trade without playing games with me. Looking forward to working with them more in the future. If their service team is as good as their sales team. I might end up being a life time Honda buyer.
I had my first oil change on my Honda CR-V. I also had a quick repair on a rear seat handle that was malfunctioning since the trailer hitch was installed. The dealership was thorough, efficient, explained everything and even washed my car when they were done. I highly recommend Thelen Honda. And BTW, they were cheaper than my local oil change and told me the best oil to use to get 10,000 miles between changes.

Everything you want out of your dealer - quick, efficient and cost effective. The salesmen were helpful and not pushy and the owner was available to answer questions as well. They also take care of their customers - if you buy a used car and something happens, they wont penalize you for it. My experience at the service center was exceptional. I had Mr. Jay Blackwell service my 2015 Honda Civic for a routine oil change. Mr. Blackwell not only connected with me as a customer but asked me what other issues I was facing that he possibly could resolve during my visit. I had an issue with my tire pressure sensor and not only did he assist in resolving that issue but showed me other features that I did not know my vehicle was able to perform. Bravo, Thelen Honda! Earl Schatzer greeted my husband and I and helped us find exactly what we wanted in a direct and yet friendly manner. I enjoyed not feeling schmoozed and the fact that he did not exclude me from the talk because my husband was there. I applaud Earl for not making us feel any pressure to buy. We made the decision to buy and were charmed by the charming Ms. Cathy Brown. She settled our nerves and made the process very painless. However, Patrick Shann was the real closer on the deal. He went out of his way to ensure that we walked away from the store happy and confident that our twenty years of buying from Thelen and ten years of buying from Thelen Honda was going to continue.
Went in for an oil change and was offered a tire rotation and car wash free with service. I explained to the lady that I was in an extreme hurry as I needed to get on the road ASAP to visit my hospitalized son. She was very understanding and got me back on the road in 15 minutes.

Thelen Honda has a great service department. I recently took my 2008 CR-V in for a free oil change and inspection. The work was done in 45 minutes and I received a verbal and written report on the condition of my vehicle. I will return to Thelen for service and would not hesitate to buy another Honda from them.
We were on a 3 week vacation and time came for an oil change for our Pilot. We stopped by the service center without an appointment not knowing if we could even get the oil changed. We arrived at 8:30 and got worked in and was out by 9:00. They even gave us a complimentary car wash!! Everyone at Thelen Honda that we dealt with was extra nice. Im from WI and recently was shopping for a car and ended up getting pointed in the direction of the Thelen Auto Group (which is 7hrs away from me, in MI). After contacting them, a woman named Katelyn got in touch with me and we started talking more about the car I was interested in. Ill admit I was skeptical purchasing a car out of state, but Katelyn truly put all of the concerns at ease. She was definitely instrumental in me being comfortable enough to feel confident to drive 7hrs away to get the car. But I did, and I am definitely glad I did! Once I arrived, I was met by Jason (sales manager) who showed me the car and gave me all the time I needed to give the car a good once over. He made the in person car buying process a breeze from start to finish! At this point, I am very glad that I made the decision to purchase I car from Thelen, and would recommend them to anyone who was considering buying from them!
Id been having a problem with my new-to-me 2014 Accord making rattling sounds, so I dropped in to the service area to have them diagnose and hopefully fix the problem. Well they did that! And they did it well! I was pleased with the young man who was my service representative. He did an excellent job. He showed me the documentation that Honda produced about the rattling sound. It was funny because the way I described the problem was exactly the way Honda described the problem, and they got it fixed. I am so happy. Thanks Honda Service for an excellent job.

BEWARE, THEY ARE CHEATS. I took my Honda to Thelen in Oct 2017 to report oil consumption issue for which Honda had issued an extended warranty for. As part of the warranty I had to take my Honda back 2-3 times to check the oil level after driving every 1000 miles or so. I did so 3 times (as seen in my google timeline visits).Each time Thelen said that there was no oil consumption issue. Now the oil lamp lit up with 40% oil life and there is no oil on the dip stick. Thelen is now claiming that they have no records of my visits and I cannot claim the warranty as the warranty expired in April. They lost records of my visits and are covering up. Im sure that the service representatives remember me well and that I had brought the car in for oil consumption issue. My wife was with me in one of the visits as well. They are now LYING that they do not recall my visits.Because of Thelen I now have a car with a manufacturer issue for which they lost documentation and now I cannot get the car fixed under warranty. They are CHEATS as you can see in my time lines that I took my car to them and they also admitted that they do not give any proofs to the customer when oil consumption tests are done. BEWARE.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed and amazed at the service I received from your dealership today. I spoke with your salesman Chuck twice regarding a specific used car that I had all intentions of buying. I called him again 4 hours before I planned to arrive to insure that the car was still available and to let him know that I would be driving from Mt. Pleasant, about an hour away, to meet with him. When I arrived he was chatting with someone. I looked around the parking lot and did not see the car. Another salesman asked if he could help and I told him about the car I was there to see. He informed me that the car had sold FIVE days prior!!!!! Is this how you train your employees????? Lie to them to get them in and then attempt a bait and switch??? RIDICULOUS! I drove 120 miles round trip, left early from work, missed my sons baseball game, not to mention gas is $4.15/gallon all to find out I was LIED to!! Unacceptable and I will NEVER buy a car from your dealership and will be happy to tell my story to whoever will listen. I called Chuck after I left the dealership since he was still chatting with someone else. He acted like it was no big deal. He told me that when he looked for the car he saw the keys! The guy cannot even tell the truth! How can you see keys for a car that youve SOLD??? Its salesmen like you that give others a bad name!
My service consultant, Chris, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He kept me appraised of what was going on, how long it would take, and how much it was going to cost. Everything was done correctly and efficiently.
I have had dealerships charge me for unnecessary fixes. Thelen Honda has never treated me like that. They have told me what needs to be fixed and what can wait. They even told me what fixes could be a waste of my money. I love working with the employees at Thelen Honda. Even when I move I will still drive back to Bay City Thelen Honda because I trust them with my car. I have had my car for 15 years.

I have a vibration issue with my 2014 EXL Handa Accord. I took it to Fox Honda in Grand Rapid and they told me is normal and did not fix my problem. Thelen Honda take care of me and my car. Im very happy with their service. Highly recommended 5/5

Awful costumer service experience. Had an emergency issue with my Honda and could not get in for a week! I was given something to try and call back if it did not work and they would try to get me in sooner. Then I was told that was the best they could do for me. I am not even sure it is safe to drive my car! This is not my first time going there as Thelen is the closest Honda Dealer to Midland. Extremely disappointed in how they treat their customers. Just horrible. Best part, the customer service representative got mad at me for pointing out that is was unsafe and asking more details so she hung up on me!!!

I took my new vehicle in to have the remote starter I had paid for installed. It was done quickly and Chris, the assistant service manager, showed me how to use it. He also arranged for a set of rubber mats to be installed in my CR-V.
Hands down I wouldnt drive another type of vehicle other than a Honda. Not only does my car have nearly 320,000 miles (Im the original owner) but my service and sales experience are amazing.-AJ is my favorite sales guy. Not pushy, incredibly helpful and just plain honest.-Roger in parts is amazing.-AND everyone in service is WONDERFUL! Im partial to Chris because Ive known him the longest and he just gets me. Ive got both of my girls in Hondas now as well just because I know that Thelen service is the best. They are honest, A trust them completely and the price is more than fair.
