We purchased a VW Atlas a week ago. Love my vehicle. Love my salesman Justin Szyperski. Justin get 5+ out of 5 stars. Only issue I had was with the financial person 0 out of 5. Very very upset. Paperwork submitted online for financing had 2 names on the form, when we got there to sign and pickup my new vehicle, it only had my husbands name on it, not mine. Both were supposed to be on it. He said he didnt see my information. He had to have seen it as it had my income under my husband as extra income.To get my name on it would have taken lots more paperwork and refinancing would have had to be redone again to have my name added. As it was supposed to be my car, and I had filled out the application myself, I know my name and info was there. I was mad enough, I probably would have required the extra paperwork if I hadnt had to get to a doctor appointment and I wouldnt have a car to do it if I didnt take the new car as husband was heading to work.If, God forbid, my husband were to die before the vehicle is paid off, I will have a heck of a time as I will have to pay the vehicle off (cash) before I could get it in my name or renew license plates. Family just went through it with step father passing and my mother wasnt on the vehicle. I always have 2 people on the title. No, not this time.Then we get a call the other day, again my fabulous salesman, checking to see if we had gotten our $500 back we put down or was it on the financing. Neither happened. I double checked our paperwork and it wasnt listed on it. He is getting my deposit refunded immediately. Justin is super. I would still go back just because of Justin but I can guarantee I will have a full open day to double check all paperwork this time.

Worked with Leo in looking at both Volkswagen and Audi. Great experience. Leo went over everything on both vehicles and provided a very low pressure experience. The reason for only three stars is I provided what I was getting for other vehicles I was shopping and I was getting a better price for my trade at other dealers. Leo asked what they could do to get my business. I provided what they could do but received no response. Not a sorry we can’t match that or we can do this...nothing. So they lost out. But I would highly recommend Leo to help you if you are in the market for a vehicle.

I bought a used, 4 year old from this new car dealer. We haggled a bit on price, nothing extreme, and agreed on a 18k price, with it being certified used.This is a Saturday: says theyll call me on Tue. I didnt hear anything, so on Wed I call. They said they had to fix one more thing on it and waiting for a part to come in for the back seat. Said it should be ready Friday. I said OK, sometimes things happen.They never call. I stop Sat, now a week later. The same salesman says I should be able to get my car in a day or two. He slides me an invoice and says I have to pay another $1200 to get this part and make it certified, or I can take the car as-is without warranty. We agreed on a certified car a week ago and he just pretends like its not a big deal hes asking me to pay more money for something Ive already paid for and have receipts for. He wont budget and sends me to the new-car manager (used-manager was was off).Manager talks to the salesman to get details. Comes in and explains that the part is expensive and its going to be $700 w/o labor, and its over their allotted, set budget on used cars to fix it. I explained I paid for certified, and salesman just nonchalantly expects me to pay this additional bill out of thin air. There was no discussion about paying anything more for the car to certify it. The manager is surprised, and leaves to go talk to the salesman. He comes back, seems annoyed, and apologizes and didnt realize the deal was done before he talked to me and thought I was paying to have it certified. The salesman lied/didnt tell the manager the screw up he did. The manager said he understands its a bad situation, and he should not have sold the car as it was...but acts like his hands are tied on the matter and they cant budge on the cost. I had looked up a few parts at online vendors for around $500, and show him on my phone the sites (all of which this seems really silly, after the fact). We talk a bit more, and he says hell chase down those leads but regardless get it fixed, sorry for the hassle, and that hell have to have a talk with the salesman. Manager says hell have the car ready by Wednesday, Thursday at the latest with everything done, and theyll call me. Great, I leave, annoyed and frustrated, but at least things will be done soon. I side-eye the salesman on the way out and he just kind of looks at me.A week later, on the third Saturday now, I go back to the dealer. Im mad, noone has called me and its been two weeks. I had two other new cars from this place and had a great experience, albeit problem free. I ask salesman whats going on, wheres my car. He sits me down, says all I have to do is pay the cost of the part ($700~) and theyll get it installed quick on Monday and Ill be on my way. He pretends nothing has happened and like he didnt screw up/I wasnt here last weekend, and that I have to pay this. I lose my cool, go through the whole thing again, and refuse to spend any more money. He starts to balk a bit, and I notice a few salesman standing around talking to a few customers. I get mad, and deliberately drop the f-bomb, and everyone looks our way and it gets quiet. The actual Used Car manager is standing there, and he comes rushing over to ask whats going on (the new-car manager is sick this week). I said the salesman lied and he hasnt delivered on the car. He talks for the salesman a bit to the side, and then has me go to his office.I go through the entire thing with him. I say the salesman tried to pass me a bill twice, lied to the manager about promising me the car certified at 18k, and I went through this all last weekend with the new-car salesman, and he said everything would be taken care of. He goes out to talk to the salesman. He comes back, apologizes, and says my car will be ready on Tuesday and there wont be a charge. I thank them and leave. Tuesday the salesman calls me to tell me the car is ready. Never apologizes or says anything.Had to fight to get a car I paid for two weeks later. No effort to make it right. Find better service elsewhere.

Needed some service done on my 14’ VW Jetta TDI, Jaymes took good care of me throughout the whole process. I came in for an oil change, clutch fluid change, transmission fluid change and some emissions warranty work (DPF & EGR replace). Parts took about a week for shipping, and then a day install for the emissions work and the rest of the services were done in a day. Jaymes was great through the whole thing and kept me up to date during the whole process. Everyone at the service desk is very helpful.

My sister-in-law (a nurse, who relies on this vehicle for work) took her car to this dealer and was given the run around. I have personally witnessed multiple times, on different days, the vehicle not starting, and needing to be jumped. They kept her car for a week, charged her a $90 diagnostic fee, and told her they couldnt duplicate the problem. This car has consistently had this issue for over three months, but every time they tried to start it, it worked? Seems unlikely. They tried to give her multiple excuses that basically blamed her for the issues she was experiencing, such as leaving her doors unlocked (she does not), having aftermarket accessories (also no), and leaving her lights on (really?!). This dealership tries to take advantage of women.

Do not go to this dealership, especially if youre a woman. During the pandemic she left her car there for 6 days only to be told that they couldnt find the problem with it. I looked at the repair order and there is nothing shown that they actually diagnosed anything with the problem. They said it was parasitic draw but it only states that there is a maximum of 12 milliamps when everything below 20 to 25 is completely normal. so they kept her car for a week, didnt fix it and then tried to baffle her because she doesnt know enough about cars. I would never take my car to a dealership that doesnt stand behind their work is dishonest and doesnt know what theyre doing

I am an 18 year old kid who needed a reliable car to get back and forth to school. I went here because i heard that Subaru´s and Volkswagens were reliable cars. I bought a car in January for around $10000. The car looked very nice and seemed to run very good. The sales team assured me that the car had past all of their inspections and was in great mechanical and physical shape. Less then 24 hours after driving the car off the lot the check engine light came on. I brought it back and they said it was nothing and the light would go off on its own. It did, but it will still come on randomly. Then the heat stopped working. I took the car back to the dealership and they said the heater core needed to be replaced. That was $1800 to fix. But it does not end there. The car started to leak coolant less then 2 months later. I took it back and they said it needs a new water pump and that it will be almost $1300 to fix that. This dealership sold me a lemon and there is nothing i can do about it. Be careful when buying new cars especially for this dealership or any other Thelen dealership.

Angelo was our salesman and he worked really hard to get us the very best deal possible. He went above and beyond. He kept in touch with us, let us know what was going on. He did a great job with us. Although we decided to purchase from another Thelen dealer due to choosing a different brand SUV, we would recommend Angelo to anyone looking for a Mazda or Volkswagon.

I stopped in to get a baseball cap on my way to Traverse City. Every VW dealer I have ever been to has a visible area in the showroom where there is a display of caps, pens, mugs, key chains, etc. Thelen did not have that. An employee was very friendly and took the time to try to find me a cap but was unsuccessful. They should remedy that situation. I ended up getting my cap (for free) from Serra VW in Traverse City

They explain everything in detail, which gives a good understanding about the service. The diagnosis report is very well written and gives a gist of everything about your car.

Would never go back. Couldnt get financed so never did hear anything back. Radio commercial states they can get anyone finaced with there special lenders or they will give you $500 . Called about the money talked to one of the thelens said it wasnt that dealership it was another thelen he wasnt aware of the promotion so they wouldnt honor there promotionTalked to one of the owners. Said they would get me approved for either the car i wanted or some other type. Talked to the same salesman who never called me back the first time. Apologized for being late again. Talked for a few days told me the banks demands for approving me said they needs lots of paperwork and $2000. Asked what kind of cars i could get approved for. That was over a WEEK ago. Still havent heard back. NO i will not take this review down. You guys run a horrible place. Wouldnt recommend it to anyone

I have always had a good experience when taking my VW here for oil changes. I never have to wait long in line and they always get my car right back and on my way within 40 minutes or less. The staff is always very assertive and able to answer any questions I have. I have tried to venture to other places for oil changes but always end up coming back here because they are just hard to beat.

I wouldnt really call it an express lane. It did take quite awhile to have my service completed. However, the staff was extremely friendly and polite. The waiting area was very nice, clean, and well stocked with beverages and coffee, and had a nice TV to watch college football.I feel like it was by far an overall good experience and will continue to have my service done at this location.

I spoke with Steve on a Thursday and met with him on that following Monday. We test drove what I originally looked at and then 2 other vehicles in other price ranges and styles to make sure I wasnt missing any options. Afterwards he came up with some pricing and let me know the following day. That same day I drove off the lot with my vehicle and was very happy that I wasnt given the run around. I thought everyone was down to earth and you can tell the staff does their job and doesnt try to put on an act.

This review has been re-edited after a call from their general manager. He was very reasonable. The sales people also seem friendly. However the service department has been more miss than hit from my personal experience.I expected it would be a different for any owners with cars still under warranty. However being an VW certified mechanic, the bills add up very quickly otherwise. Most recently, there was a misdiagnosis, or rather failure to fully diagnose a an issue - Which surprised me, typically their solution for any problem is to just throw marked up parts at it until it goes away.Also, there was some warranty information I suspect they were sitting on. The bulletin had been out, but I was I was not made aware of a part replacement until a visit when I was barely outside of warranty.I have a much better experience with other local repair shops. They have been more cost efficient and better at trouble shooting in my limited experience.

I am so disappointed with the customer service of the employees at the service center. I had my car serviced and paid 520$. I had a loner car and all I did was drive it home to midland and back but then I was ordered to either put $5gas or pay a fine of $15 I and the representative knew very well that I didnt need to put $5 of gasoline into the car. Wheres customer service. You dont even get a decent car wash at Thelen anymore. The service center needs to be able to have more curtesy

When I arrived I received prompt service and someone was right there to shuttle me to work. When my vehicle was finished they were there within 20 min. after they called. Being a younger kid 7 years ago no one would even talk to me, but Anthony took the time even if I was just window shopping. Well I ended buying the most expensive car in the parking lot. This review is not about the quality of the service but about their intransparent pricing. I brought my jetta in for a routine 30,000 mile service. Their online portal stated a price of 204 dollars, which is supposed to include everything you need to get the most from your vehicle. Turns out, this price must not include a lot of things as I ended up paying 350 dollars instead. My car was in excellent condition, I did not need any extra parts, just the standard 30,000 mile service. After making the staff aware about the price discrepatancy excuses ranged from online pricing does not contain parts to online pricing is only for factory required maintenance. A 70% markup over the online price is intransparant at best, not to say false advertising. I live in Cincinnati and came back to thelen because my experience in the past was good. I will not be coming back. Imagine you order food for 20 bucks in a restaurant but get charged 35 instead because pricing is only franchise recommended and did not include prices for the parts to make the food...
