Because of urbanization and big box stores, old general stores like this one are few and far between. This one is located in the remote community of Banfield, and is very reminiscent of days past. So much so, in fact, that its been in operation since 1875! Banfield General Store has grocery items, a bakery area, an ice cream parlor, a hardware store, even a sit-down dining area with that 50s feel to it, all located in one store! But the best part of this place is most definitely the country charm with friendly faces that are most eager to help! They do their jobs with grace and a Southern hospitality that you just dont find in the city. Coming here was very refreshing! Banfield General Store is the place where one can detox oneself from the hustle and the bustle of city life, and be greeted with warm welcomes, kind regards, and a Southern hospitality that you just wont find elsewhere.

A hidden Wonder, small looking from out side but super store. Friendly and helpful they have a bit of every thing. Hardware, fishing supplies, food the good kind, ice cream and much more. We will definitely be back!!

This place has a great variety of stuff. I did miss the homemade baked goods; however, they do still have cookies, even one of my faves, ginger molasses.

Beer and wine. Popcorn. Bakery delicacies. Pizza and Friday night BBQ ribs. Its been a general store for many many decades and is worth a visit.

The best general store in the county. Great food, good prices. There is literally something for everyone in any emergency, from food, pop, and ice cream to plumbing, heating elements for your hot water heater to stove pipe and fishing poles and equipment to greeting cards and they also sell Watkins.

They have fabulous pizza, very nice help. In the summer a concert and ice cream for 99 cents. What ever you need from ice to bolts and screws, firewood, whole made cookies. Cant say enough good things. To many to list!!!!
