I called ahead because we were getting windows replaced in our home. (In fact I called several times to make sure.). I was told 3x to just make sure I kept the sensors from the old windows. I did. When ADT came out I had to pay to get new sensors a d forced an upgrade charge on me. Tech support on the phone is ridiculous. Now, an IR on one of my cameras went out, over 4 weeks ago, and again they are saying the new cameras are not compatible with the version software I have and they dont make my style camera anymore. I keep losing connectivity with the entire system but of course, if I want to upgrade and pay more upfront again and more monthly they can make it work. Choose another alarm company.
This is by far the worst security company in the world. I would not recommend anyone do business with them. I had horrible customer service from the installer after he came out to my home and setup my services my equipment started falling off the wall. On top of that he did not leave all the equipment he was suppose to. The sales rep quoted me a different price from what the installer tried charging me and to top it off they charged my account 4 times after i had cancelled the services one charge being $600.00. This is just horrible service. Im glad I chose not to continue services with them just Horrible and you can never talk to anyone it takes ages to get someone on the line. They have 0 star rating
Just a 5 star experience from day one! Highly recommend! My tech and Marketing rep were beyond amazing! I dont know who all the bad reviewers got, but all you have to say is this is what I want, nothing else.Know going in their products! Its usually 99 installed for a few things that are what you need. Its not the companys fault, you didnt EDUCATE yourself.
ADT is a very good and dependable home security company. Their technicians are professional and competent.
Javonte is the best. He was polite, knowledgeable, and his communication was outstanding . Simply the best.
Buyer Beware!!! One act of not following through has brought to the surface deceit, incompetence, poor customer service and even forgery. And Im not even one full month into having service. And Im still wondering who Im in business with...ADT or their contracted company, Defender, LLC. Yet I am being forced to maintain a 36 month contract with a service I havent been able to use since installation date December 12, 2020 until December 30, 2020. What an unhappy next 35.5 months are going to be for me. But I can attest my situation is going to be relayed to many potential customers for more years than that.
Everything went as planned so far so good.
My contract is up next month. Ive called and called to make sure its canceled and NOT renewed. I even went to the ADT office here. I told the man there the same thing. All he did was try and SELL more services . I told him I wanted to cancel contract! All he did was offer the 1-800 number. I will NEVER deal with them again! What a fing headache!
Absolutely horrible customer service. I called and canceled my service over a year ago, now I’m magically getting a bill for $600 and customer service told me there was nothing they could do, after I was transferred LITERALLY 7 times and on the phone for 55 minutes. Would never ever recommend ADT.
Weve had ADT for several years and have been happy with the service BUT...The wife and I have decided to get a video doorbell so I did a little research on theirs and decided to find out how much it would increase our bill.I went to their online chat. The online chat person apparently is not empowered to give quotes so she (Josie) said she would call me.She called and connected me to a sales person. The sales person (Jamal) asked a half-dozen or so questions that were irrelevant to my call (it was information Ive given them before, but they wanted to make sure their information was up to date).I explained that all I wanted was the approximate additional monthly cost to our bill. Instead, he goes into reading liner cards (a lot of call centers hold their people to scripts) asking questions that are only tangentially related (like if there have been issues with people stealing packages in our neighborhood) to the general topic but are not related to what I was asking about (ie: the cost). He then goes on to list the benefits of getting the doorbell.Im at work so was having to take a break to go on the chat and then take the personal call. My time was limited.I finally got a word in edge-wise, apologized for interrupting him and said all I really want to know is the approximate additional monthly cost. His response was that I kept interrupting him while he was trying to find me the best fit for my needs.Ive already researched the product enough to contact you about the price, tell me the price. If there are multiple options, tell me that and tell me what each will cost (we never got into the options because he was too busy going on and on with the positive support for deciding on getting a video doorbell). DONT tell me about how its a great decision, how it can help keep my home safer, etc. I contacted you because Ive determined that already and now youre just wasting my time with useless chatter.By making the process overly cumbersome and by training your salespeople to lead a call from the outset as if its a prospective customer (as opposed to a probable one), instead of first listening to what the customer is asking (including verbiage, tone, etc) you have lost a sale that was very likely a done deal prior to this.
ADT has good products, but the companys aspect is it downfall. When you first talk to a rep they will promise all kind of things and make it seem as if you will be getting this real good deal. Then when the service guy comes to hook it up, you will find out alot of what you are told is a lie. I purchased my system in February. He hooked up most of everything but was missing one of the key pads. Instead of him telling me from the start he didnt have everything, he hooked up what he could and tried to leave. Then when I walked in the room and notice I didnt have the rest of my equipment, he apologized and said it will be in next week. I took his word. It is the month of May and they still have not installed my 2nd keypad. They keep saying that its in back order and keep giving me excuses. I cant wait until my contract is over and I will not be renewing. I will not recommend them to anyone .
Very overpriced and ridiculous cancellation fees when moving. There are much better options available.
Nothing worse that an assumptive sale and a support person that doesnt listen to anything YOU have to say, but just tries to sell you the most expensive package! I was just trying to get informed on their services-as a first time home buyer- and the guy on the phone kept trying to sign me up for the most expensive package (lying about the cheaper packages and only telling me about them when I PULLED it out of him-so shady) and get my credit card information to sign me up fully for the package and the monthly payments! (this wasnt just having the credit card on file -this was him trying to get my credit card to sign up fully for the package+payments-assuming I said yes, which I never did??) This is after 15 minutes + of explaining my situation (which he had no interest in) To end a call with ripping the rug from under my feet and attempting to close me- unprofessional and incompetent. AND he was angry with ME for not just handing over my credit card number- making sassy remarks like we are a security company, what do you think we are going to do with it? Quite disgusted, honestly. Will NEVER go with this company! DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE SHADY PEOPLE!!!! Try actually LISTENING to your potential customers needs next time before attempting to blindside them with a sale over the phone. You lost what could have been a customer for life :)
Uses under-handed pressure and scare tactics. We called to ask about adding cameras to our security and after collecting information to make a decision, they told us the discounted offer was available for this call only and by hanging up we would be forfeiting the quoted price. A company that tries to pressure you like that does not care about you, just your dollars.
I only called to get a quote and estimate of how much it’ll be... the first guy I talked to, Brett, was super helpful & nice but the second guy he transfered me to, Jose, was SUPER RUDE!!! even went off on me in Spanish telling me to stop wasting his time if I won’t get the system when I explained I had to talk to my parents and i’ll call back! shouldn’t hire someone rude that’s going to be talking to people to tell them they are wasting his time for asking a simple question SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL.
ADT has to be absolutely the most incompetent company that I have EVER dealt with, and that includes AT&T back in the days of landlines. After failing to properly complete a simple re-activation that involved adding 2 sensors and a door lock, the install manager failed to show up to an appointment the next day to correct it. Having no faith in the company I cancelled the contract and started looking at other systems. It took me 2 weeks of phone calls to have the contract cancelled (and reverse the $1,400+ cancellation fee) and another 2 weeks to get ADT to pick up their damned equipment and refund me the installation charges. For the first week and a half, everyone I talked to insisted they didnt even want it back and kept trying to have me refunded for the installation, but failing! I finally got someone who realized they needed the equipment back to refund the installation charges. Then, weeks later, ADT attempted to charge me an amount equal to the refund that they had finally given me. Two weeks ago I got an email about a statement, but I dont have a login, so I couldnt check it. Last week I got a paper bill, and this morning I called and got it credited and the account zeroed.Today I got a call from a collection company and this time I called back and yelled at the poor cust. service rep. that had the misfortune of answering for a good 5 minutes.
Horrible experience with ADT. We had Brinks, and then ADT bought this company. I had cancelled our service, but still receiving bills. When I called to dispute the bills (over 200.00) because our service was not being monitored, I was told to pay the balance and then they would come and check out the system. What?! Pay for what?- They hadnt been monitoring our system since it was taken over from Brinks, but still wanted me to pay for it! So to avoid issues, I had to fork over the 200.00 balance and be on my way. DO NOT USE ADT! GO WITH A LOCAL BUSINESS!!
The best customer service ever do work with them they deserve five star
Terrible. run while you can away from them...
I called custom security first, talked to a person right off the bat and had a quote in 4 minutes.. Tops! ADT asked too many questions not pertinent to a quote and I ended up hanging up after 10 minutes and not getting anywhere.
They suck
