I always went to leviathan for all of my previous tattoos, and they are AMAZING. but when i tell you that when i got my moth tattoo from here, it was just over the top. daniel mesen literally drew up exactly what i wanted (and that’s special because i tend to be vague when explaining what i want) and just effortlessly tattooed the most beautiful moth i’ve seen in my whole life. the talent it takes is often overlooked but daniels talent truly shows. his rescheduling and non refundable deposits are simply business—and honestly— understandable. he worked around my anxiety and made me completely comfortable. this was my first tattoo with a male artist and my first tattoo at a different place than my usual and it is the best tattoo on my body. the price was higher than i expected but after seeing the work he put on my body and the time it took to do it, the price honestly could have even been higher. 10/10 recommend.

Alex did a really great job with my tattoo and it came out so much better than I expected. He was patient and willing to make adjustments and changes to make sure it was perfect. I received a piercing from this shop last year and was left completely in the dark. I was charged $70 for a nose piercing. I have never had my nose pierced before so I had no idea what to do. I did not even receive a card until I asked the piercer what was I to do to care for the piercing. Never before having a nose piercing, I asked about other jewelry and was immediately brushed off and told “no” that there was no selection to choose from. I was not told that I couldn’t switch my own ring to a hoop, so I did and naturally it got stuck. I made several attempts to go back in hopes that the piercer would help me. It was there, when I was able to catch him, that I was told professionals are to put rings in. He told me that this was all he could do for me, that I’d probably get a keloid, and to keep checking back. I got the run around for months under the guises of Covid to where I gave up. Months have gone by and my piercing is now giving me lots of trouble. My ongoing issue is still unresolved.

Alex has done 3 out of 4 of my tattoos, and his work is flawless from the perfect lines to the extraordinary shading and I trust him with any of the work I get done. He knocked this one out the park for real, and hell work with you on any suggestions you may have. Also, once the tattoo is finished he will make sure its perfectly how you want it and also may throw in an idea or two about adding a little color or extra shading to a certain area. Real freakin cool and welcoming guy. The place overall is clean and gives you a warm and welcoming feeling. Everyone in there was really nice.. I would suggest this place to anyone and will definitely be getting most, if not all of my work done here in the future!

I got a tattoo from there about a year ago. It is beautiful, but not what I wanted. I already had the outline and all they did was put some green in it and I was charged THREE hundred dollars. If you’re looking for a traditional style tattoo, this is a fantastic place but if you’re looking for something whimsical, go elsewhere

I got a lobe piercing and tragus piercing done by Daniel a few months ago. It was pretty quick process - in and out less than 30 min. The place was clean, accepted walk-in and took credit card. I also got a note on how to take care of new piercings which was helpful. It costed me $40/piercing + ear studs cost. Overall I was happy with the results.

Got a piece done by Christopher and couldn’t be happier. Looks great and was in and out fast. Would highly recommend if you’re into traditional.

The worst experience i have ever had with a tattoo shop. The receptionist was extremely rude and made me wait for 6 hours and then told me they could not do the tattoo. If i could give zero stars i would. Worst tattoo shop ive ever encountered.

I got my ear lobes re-pierced here after a very bad and longterm painful piercing at Claires as a preteen. I had let my Claires piercing grow back and heal for a few years before coming to Black Torch. The guy that re-pierced my ears was super cool, professional, and efficient, and best of all, my piercing feels great, no swelling, no pain, it hardly even hurt when the needle went in. I highly recommend Black Torch, my ears have never felt this good.

I had a good experience getting a cartilage piercing and a third lobe piercing from Jake. Recently, I went to get a third cartilage and had a different piercer. The earring he gave me was a very small, hard to even see stud that was different from the regular sized studs I had received when I went here before. A couple of weeks later, I noticed the earring was so small it was actually starting to go through the piercing and getting embedded in my ear. I was able to get it out but experienced a lot of bleeding & discomfort. I would still recommend this place for the prices and from my prior two experiences, but wish i wouldve asked to see options for the earring size beforehand as I really think that played a part in it. I have nine piercings total and this was the first time Ive ever had an issue with one.

I came in as a walk-in for a small tattoo and didn’t have much of a wait at all. Albeit a pretty simple handwriting tattoo, it turned out perfectly! On a communicative level, the artists respond to emails about tattoos, concepts, inquiries, etc. fairly quickly and with great professionalism. Best tattoo shop in Baton Rouge! I will definitely be going back for a bigger, more intricate piece in the future, as well as many after that.

Ive gotten tattooed by Boo and the owner, Daniel. They both did incredible jobs and were very pleasant and attentive. Daniel drew up exactly what I wanted and gave me a beautiful tattoo thats definitely going to stay looking great for a long time. Daniel also reached out to me during the healing process to ensure everything was healing properly and answer questions I had.The best shop in BR, no questions asked!

I got my nipples both pierced. The shop was very clean the artist were nice but I had to take out 1 of my piercings... I was only charged for 1 nipple but with such high reviews you would think that that I wouldnt have had such a bad experience. Upon removing the piercing you can clearly see the ring was misplaced. It hurt like hell, way more then the other and thats the reason for me removing it

Best tattoo parlor in Baton Rouge. Everyone is super nice and chill, but they take their work seriously and are true artists. Daniel the owner did my tattoo and I love it so much. He is probably the best traditional tattoo artist in the region. He helped me develop my idea and gave me a great price. I am going to be coming back to him for the rest of my arm. Dont go anywhere else and pay more for inferior work.

Very professional piercer. The place is clean and sanitized, process was quick, easy, and relatively painless. Personally, I will not get any future work done here. The person who did my piercing was very cold (like medical, which is fine!). I prefer an experience as well, someone who is easy to talk with about my procedure. My husband and I went to Black Torch to get matching tattoos as walk-ins. We told them what we wanted and they drew the tattoos up immediately. Once they finished drawing the tattoos, they set everything up and got to work. We were in and out in no time. Also reasonably priced. We are extremely happy with our new tattoos!

Great job! Staff wasnt super friendly when I walked in. But he took the time to walk through my ideas and come up with a awesome design. They have a ton of examples on the walls - clearly very good. Process was clean, with everything sterilized. I was a walk-in, didnt have to wait, and had it done in under an hour.

High quality work comes out of Black Torch, in both the tattoos and piercings. Some of the best artists in Baton Rouge are here, and Jake is easily the best piercer in Louisiana. He prioritizes safety, cleanliness, and proper placement. Josh did a beautiful tattoo on me that is still vivid after almost 2 years. Highly recommend.

I love this place! Everyone has been so helpful. I have gotten almost all of my tattoos there. They are very knowledgeable and have great prices. This is a great place to go and my go to place for tattoos and piercings.

Great place to get a piercing, from my past experiences getting my navel and nose pierced there (on two separate occasions), getting my daith pierced this time around was great as well! I called when they had just opened one day to ask if their piercer was there and if I could walk in for a daith piercing...they said yes and after I walked in it took about 5-10 minutes to wait for him to set up the room, and the whole piercing part took about 5 minutes. Very fast, clean, and professional. From their Instagram post I believe they sterilize their jewelry with a statim. They take card or cash, which is convenient. Highly recommend!

Im going to give this place only 2 stars and thats because Im not sure what their tattooing quality is like. Why? Online it says they close at 10:00pm, however, we showed up at around 8pm and they were closed but you could clearly see people inside. The doors were locked and no one even came to tell us they were closed even though they were literally standing right there looking at us. Super shady place for my liking!!

Wife and I walked in and even with a large crowd they got to us fairly quick, comfy wait room and relaxed environment. Our tattoos came out great. We will be back!

The employee were in a hurry to leave. We showed up around 9 and the hours listed they closed at 10. My friend was getting a piercing. She was quoted one price over the phone and told a higher price once we were there. She was also told cash only if she wanted it done that night. The female piercer was extremely rude and impatient. She also turned away many other customers trying to have service that night as well. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional. None of us will be back.

Came in for my first body piercing and the piercer Jake was great- super friendly and professional, great with piercing placement, answered all of my questions, and incredibly patient and supportive when I got nervous. All around the experience was super positive and I fully intend to go back for all of my piercings. Highly recommend

The place is very clean and looks very nice. The problem I had was with the staff. I explained to them what I wanted and they did not seem impressed with what I wanted at all which I’m guessing is why I got such a rude response. They said what I wanted could not be done and that the picture I was showing them was photoshopped. Instead of helping me and at least telling me what they WERE able to do they just nodded me off and I left. If I wanted to the tattoo in a risky spot on my body I would completely understand, but I wanted the tattoo on my leg which should not be a problem. I went to another tattoo artist and they gladly gave me what I wanted based off of the picture I showed them and accommodated to me.

Chris did awesome on our little ankle tattoos. We walked in with three people and they did awesome work, saw us very fast, and the prices were very reasonable. I will definately be back.

Jake is a great piercer and he definitely knows what hes doing but Ive been there multiple times and every time I have an awful encounter with him. He is very rude and awkward while I always try to be polite and friendly, definitely not worth it! There are other places to get pierced where you can have a way better time and still get the same service.

Great group of artist at this shop! Professional, and always helpful when deciding exactly what you want. Daniel is my go to artist, but the rest of the crew does excellent work as well.

I went here to get a helix piercing and Jake did a fantastic job. I called ahead and he gave me all of the information that I needed to know and while I was getting the piercing done, he made me feel extremely comfortable. Hes knows his stuff and has a passion for piercing and it shows. Piercers like Jake are hard to come by.

I had my septum piercing done by another shop in Baton Rouge, and after being told by the artist who had done it that it was healed and the jewelry could be changed the ring would not go back through the piercing. I tried to get in contact with the artist who had done it to get help, and could not get through to him. I called Black Torch because I live close by, and Jake was amazingly helpful! It was already late, and I didnt have an appointment, but when I told him what was going on, he told me to come in immediately. He looked at the piercing and was very informative and helpful in identifying the problem. I would suggest everyone see Jake for their piercing needs, seeing as he is amazing!

Out of towner dropped by for a walk in for my first tattoo, nothing but good things! Got exactly what I wanted for a good price and it was very quick. They were all super nice and kept my nerves at bay, also very sterile. Wouldnt have wanted my first one anywhere else.

My mom wanted to get her first tattoo and didnt want to get one alone, so I decided to get one of mine covered up that I had wanted to for a while. They did a great job and made her feel comfortable. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a tattoo.

Went and got a tattoo done on my arm. Explained to the artist that it was going to be my first tattoo and he couldnt have been nicer. He made sure everything was perfect to my liking. The parlor was also tidy and clean. Would recommend.

I just went to get my tragus pierced. My piercer was friendly, patient, and helpful. He washed his hands and changed gloves frequently. The needle was sterile and came in new packaging. All in all, a great visit!

I got just a quote but it was a good price and Boo got me in and out in about 30 minutes, from the time I got there to the end of the tattoo. Cool people, Ill definitely be back for some actual artwork. Highly recommended.

Very nice people and good environment...but..This is the second time i get my septum pierced there and the second time it’s crooked. My fault because I went back after the first time. This second time hurts really bad on the side its crooked on, nothing like the first and its been at least 2 weeks since i got it.

Was luckily able to set-up a next day appointment with Daniel due to a cancelation and he did beyond a phenomenal job. He looked at my reference photo for just a few seconds and was able to draw up something out of this world in under 20 mins. He immediately got to work and crushed it. If youre looking for American traditional work in Louisiana Id argue theres no better place to go then Black Torch. Easy 5 stars. Will be back.

I got my first tattoo done by Chris he did an amazing job. Then I went and got an arrow tattoo by a guy named Boo cause Chris was not in. My tattoo done by boo looked terrible the line was not straight at all and the arrow head was jacked up. I went back and he tried to fix it but it didn’t help at all I felt like I over paid for a messed up tattoo 😕

I got my eye brows done and therere beautiful! She was very nice and understanding of how I wanted my brows to look! A credit Card machine would have been great!

Walked in to a full waiting room, was told 2 hour wait and waited maybe an hour. Tattoo was drawn on the spot and came out better than I even imagined. Well worth the wait!!!

I went because I got an earring that I couldnt get in properly and the piercer was very kind and helpful.

I got my first piercing here and I was crazy nervous, Jake was very kind and helped me relax through the process. My eyes started watering and I was afraid he thought I was crying from the pain but it really didn’t hurt badly at all. Extremely professional and clean place, I highly recommend it. I will be going back for more piercings.

This was an awful experience. Very very rude customer service. Left before getting the piercing. I told him where I wanted pierced and he said Why dont you do it then? You work at a tattoo/piercing shop. People are going to tell you what they want. If its not possible to get it where someone wants it, all you need to do is POLITELY say something like I cant do it there because... And then explain. Never going back and will never recommend.
