Bowie Outditters is a hunter/outfitter retail store that carries almost everything for hunting any game anywhere. Most of guns on the racks in the back. I think they’ve remodeled since I was in there before season last year. Still have loads of knives, lights, boots, cases, scopes, etc. in stock. Lots better with the new owners.

Very nice place. Well organized and the staff know what they are doing. Prices are on par with anywhere else. Wide selection and carry premium brands.

A little pricey but the staff and selection stand out far above any others. I never leave empty handed. Staff is always willing to share knowledge and are helpful.

I went in to purchase a recurve takedown to have an extra for anyone that came over to shoot. There were none. I looked around archery for about 20 until I was noticed but not acknowledged. There were no price tags on anything. I finally got the guys attention and asked how much the Bear single recurve was. He said $800! I asked again and he repeated $800. I had friend coming over so I settled and bought a Genesis for $169. Nice bow, but the Bear would have been much more useful to me. So I paid and left. I went back a week later and everything was restocked and priced. The Bear was priced was priced at $220. I would have paid the $220 and been much happier. But again I was left wandering around and never helped. I didnt bring it up because there was no point in a he said she said battel. So I left, unhappy, again. Done!

Very nice store! Sometimes I go into a store just to see how the treat me because I want to feel good about where Ill spend my money whether then or in the future. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and acknowledged by a staff member. As I walked through the different departments if the store I was continually greeted and acknowledged. All in all I counted seven times someone made sure I was being attended to! The selection of equipment was impressive with very knowledgeable staff able to answer any questions I had. Very good experience and worth a visit.

There was only one employee on this Saturday afternoon for about 5-15 customers at any point in time, but he knocked it out of the park. The employees here work hard and they are very kind. Will be back!

He was super knowledgeable and helpful. He answered all my questions and gave me some insight i didnt even know about. Over all great store with great products and a great staff. I love this place! The guys are always friendly and knowledgeable. While a little on the pricey side you definitely get what you pay for. The other nice thing is their location compared to all the other outfitters in town.

Best place to bribg your bow. Troy(tech) really knows his stuff, and pumps the orders out efficiently and thoroughly. If you are lucky, Doc(Brett) will even help you get sighted in and throw in a few pointers too. Excellent!

Lost my trusty pocket knife in the move. I was able to find a satisfactory replacement here. The people were very kind. I plan on bringing my bow in for some adjustments. They have a larger variety than you might assume from the outside. It is a pretty large store.

GREAT!!! place to get help with whatever you need. For us, it was getting me and my wifes bow straight. So lets start with the initial walk in. They greeted us at the front desk, everyone said hello, and they got us set with our bow tags to take back. Once we got back to the archery cave (AKA bow desk), we were treated with respect even thought we didnt know everything we needed help with. They took their time and fixed our bows which didnt take long at all. Everyone helped us and gave us pointers since we are new to archery. And doing it without overwhelming us. We walked out with our bows set and tips from everyone i.e. stance, holding, how to strengthen to get our draw weight up, arrow tip selection. I love finding businesses that are community owned and that treat people right. I was recommended by a man name Tom that I met at an archery range. Now I will recommend that everyone, both new and old archers, go to Bowies. They will do right by you!

The staff here is impeccable: the nicest, the most knowledgeable, the most competent, the most helpful you could hope to find at any store much less a spring goods store. In particular, words do not do justice to the archery dept. Excellent variety of goods in store. Ample parking.

Was not that great. The gun and ammo shortage is real and here in baton rouge. The staff was friendly and masked, place was very clean. They have beacoup hunting apparel, boots, knives, archery equipment, but no ammo and very few pistols and long guns.

Bowie Outfitters is a awesome place. Ive had 3 guns delivered via FFL In the last 3 months and always had friendly every time. I highly recommend them.

Very friendly staff, I felt like they were welcoming and helpful even though I didnt clearly look like a regular customer. I thought the prices were a little high for some of the apparel, but it is mostly performance and comfort oriented active wear. Regardless of what you love in Louisianas diverse selection of outdoor activities, this is a great place to gear up. I would shop here before trying any of the non local chain stores, especially if you need guidance.

Unlike Cabelas, these people are straight forward, genuine and have no ridiculous internal rules regarding ordering firearms. Highly Recommend Bowies Outfitters.

I brought my Matthews bow to Bowie to get them to adjust the draw length on my bow. The guy says I ordered the part you can pay for it in full now and I’ll call you when the piece comes in. I say okay, I give him cash and 5 weeks go by and I never got a call. So I call and they act like they don’t even know what I’m talking about and claim that Matthews had to make the part and it would take 3 more weeks. Sounds like someone didn’t order the part to me bc if that was the case why did no one call me when they found out Matthews had to special make the piece and it would take longer than 3 weeks. Then they finally get piece I bring bow to them and they want me to pay for labor now. Even though the original guy told me the cash I gave him covered everything. Next time I need anything for my bow I’ll drive 3 hours before going back to bowe.

Wonderful and the people that work there are amazing

We had a wonderful experience purchasing our bow here... Then we brought it in for service. We were told it would take 10 days. Over a month later, I finally got our bow back. The string was not ordered as promised twice, our bow was lost for over a week, I was told I was bothering the archery manager when I would check on the bow a few days AFTER it was promised. The archery mgr. went back and forth on what I would be charged for. The price on the string and type of string ordered changed weekly. Then to top it off, the archery manager went off on me twice in one day! He apologized for it, saying he was having a bad day then did it again! They did not charge me for labor and gave me the string at the price quoted, but nothing else. They acted like there was nothing else they could do after putting us through that. We were going to upgrade both of our bows, purchasing new ones at Bowie, but that will NOT happen (unless possibly management changes). I am very disappointed and have never been spoken to before, much less by a manager that way. They have not only lost my family as customers, they have lost everyone I tell about our story. Great products, horrible customer service.

I couldnt wait to get home and write this review because of all the negative reviews on here. All the bad press kept me from trying Bowies for the last 5 years. Today, I didnt have a choice because Bass Pro was too backed up in their archery department. So I set out for Bowies expecting to be treated poorly. I couldnt have been more wrong. Heres a recap of my visit:I went in with an archery problem, hadnt showered, dressed like a bum, etc.Beginning at the front desk, everyone was super kind. They kindly instructed me to leave my bow case outside(oops), then they got my bow tagged and directed me to the archery department. Two guys were there, not sure their names. A younger guy and a fellow maybe in his late 30s/early 40s. I know nothing about setting up a bow, and its obvious. But both of these gentlemen were super willing to help. Neither talked down to me, which is what I was expecting given the way some archery shops operate. The younger fellow fixed my bow on the spot and tuned it for me.I was out the door for about $20. Bass Pro wanted to keep my bow for a few weeks and couldnt even diagnose my problem. I brought it to Bowies and had it fixed in 20 minutes.Top notch service, good prices (sure higher than Amazon, but its a brick and mortar store, what do you expect?), friendly atmosphere. I will be back.Bass Pro will never touch my bow again.If youre reading the negative reviews on here and are leery of trying Bowies, dont be. You wont regret it.

Great products, but customer service in the archery department was lacking. Couldnt find anyone who seem like they actually had time to help me. They also quoted me 1 day to tune my bow and add a new arrow release, but they did not have it ready for a week.

A hidden gem in Baton Rouge! Their selection is amazing and rivals Bass Pro, and their prices are certainly better! Its deceivingly small on the outside, but its like the TARDIS. Its way bigger on the inside!

PISS POOR customer service.Purchased a rifle and scope. Spent $1500.00. Which was a good thing that I called in ahead of time.When I asked to have the scope mounted to the rifle the salesman told me that he did not have time to do that and that I should come back another day when he had help to watch the front desk...... What kind of place does that?I did notice that a lot of attention was being given to a lovely lady with tight jeans..............If it wasnt for her telling the salesman to help me, I probably wouldnt have gottten the little help that I did receive.

Worst service Ive ever experienced. Will never step foot in this place again.

I like almost everything about the store but the archery manager Bruce has a terrible temper. I brought in my bow to get a new string and new limbs after my gf dry-fired it. I was promised the bow within two-three weeks but everytime I called after the two-three week time period the archery shop didnt have my bow ready and blamed it on Bear Archery for not sending in the limbs. I got a friend who works for a Bear Archery dealer to call and inquire about the limbs and they actually sent them to Bowie Outfitters the next business day after I dropped my bow off. I went to Bowies and told them that and they said they never recieved them but incredibly that evening a delivery truck came with the limbs on it yeah right they were at their store the entire time but didnt care because they were too busy selling new bows instead of taking care of old customers. So that entire series of events took almost two months when I was promised my bow in 2-3 weeks. I was ready to just chalk it up to them being busy when I spoke with Bruce and told him the story and he blew up on me in front of an entire store full of people he later apologized but the damage had been done. Later when I recieved my bow they forgot to put in rocker guards so the limbs cracked when I first pulled the bow back I immediately went to Cabelas and they fixed everything free of charge under manufactuer warranty. The rest of the Bowie Outfitter staff was always nice but Bruce is a terrible manager.
