Finished up my Christmas shopping at Window Pane, by far one of my all time favorite stores. Julie and Greg, the gracious co-owners, are always helpful and accommodating. Its a wonderful store that I look forward to every summer. On a rainy October Sunday my friends and I made our yearly trip to Bar Harbor it was miserable shopping but we finally made it to the end of the street for my much anticipated spree in your store. I had an almost finished ice cream cone but was anxious to shop out of the weather. The clerk saw me and made a beeline toward me to say I couldnt shop with the cone. Later I went in and had $75 worth of merchandise I was going to buy but my experience was ruined by this incident I put the items on a shelf never to return to this store. I purchased most of the items on lineTo answer you. I had my mask on the whole time I was just holding the cone. Im not a child, there was not enough ice cream to dribble on the merchandise nor would I have allowed it to. Because you own the store makes no difference to the matter. 5 or 10 steps in a store that small doesnt matter your eye was on me as soon as I entered the store with intent to set me straight. I realize that may not have been your intent however it is what you projected and in a shaky retail environment I would think the strategy would be to encourage any and all business. The fact is you are still trying to set me straight! I would think the better thing to do for your businesss sake would be to follow the old saying that the customer is always right and make me feel better about you and your store so I would continue doing business with you.

LOVE this store! I grew up in the area, but now live quite far away. When I come back to visit, I ALWAYS stop here. Its a great place for high quality, unique and creative items that feel like home. Ive purchased quite a few things throughout the years and have more on my wishlist! Staff is always very friendly and helpful.

This was my favorite store in downtown Bar Harbor. They have so many different carefully curated items to choose from. I ended up taking a massive cutting board home and safe to say, it has surpassed my expectations of quality and durability.

At Christmas I picked out some lovely gifts. There was a mistake with one, and the staff was super helpful in grabbing the item and letting me exchange it quickly, as I had my baby with me. (Always anxiety provoking during the pandemic.) Looking forward to coming back!

Best store ever. They carry the most beautiful decorator items. Also have great kitchen tools. I bought two unique stone “cairn” lamps. The service was exceptional. Even carried them to my car for me.

Window Panes has been one of my favorite shops on the island since they opened their doors. The staff are so wonderful and kind, and there are so many fantastic items to browse! In our family, a dish towel ends up in every single birthday or Christmas package! As do their gorgeous mugs and other fun kitchen bits. I also should note that they are doing incredibly well managing the covid situation and Im so grateful for their efforts to keep us all safe! Thank you, Window Panes - we love you!

I used the new online pickup option the other day and it worked beautifully! I love browsing the store and meeting friends to chat but in the current time, this is a great way to get my favorite products safely. Thanks!

Ive been shopping at Window Panes for years. Sometimes I just go in to browse. The shop has great items for your home and to gift to others. Ive had the chance to chat with the owners over the years and they are friendly and helpful. Maine runs on its small businesses. This year has been so difficult for many of them. Window Panes is one I will continue to frequent.

Dont invite an issue by stepping foot inside this store. Management seems as though being right outweighs creating a comfortable shopping environment. Left after an employee caused a scene with two customers who had a clearly personal issue over pricing.

Window Panes is an anchor in the community. Julie and Greg not only have a wonderful store but great people.When I look around my home or open a kitchen drawer I can see many things that I have bought from them.I needed a Vegetable peeler and I mentioned it to a friend and said, “I need to go into Window Panes and get one.” She said, “you can get one at the grocery store.” I said I could but they don’t care about Bar Harbor like Julie and Greg does. If you are visiting the Island, it a must go to.

This is the best shop in Bar Harbor. We have been coming here for over 20 years and have always had a great experience with owners and employees. I think the previous reviewers either have a personal problem or are just professional bad reviewers.

Rude would be putting it nicely. Very troubled owners. The male owner put his hands on my wife. To many places to shop to waste time here. Just read the reviews. Very anger people.

This is my favorite kind of store. So many unique gifts from Maine a step above the usual tourist shops. On top of that they have a beautiful selection of items for your home. I could spend hours here and the staff is so helpful and knowledgeable. Love it.

I bought a few kitchen items and also a few other supplies. If you have not able to stop in or take a look you should do so. They have really good stuff there for anything that you need for household items as well as your kitchen or personal things.

Interesting one of a kind items for around the home: beautiful inexpensive baskets made by women in a Mayan womens cooperative, cairn lamps and candle holders, everyday kitchen gadgets, etc. Refreshing change from all the T-shirt shops.

I liked the store but didnt purchase anything because the workers were incredibly rude. There are other stores with simiilar items and a nicer atmosphere.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. Type one Diabetic having snack and manager came over and said I cant eat in the store although theres no sign on the door. He was very rude even when I explained my situation and continued to be extremely rude. I said Ill leave the store and he practically pushed me out and made a very big scene. It was honestly quite embarrassing and he did not care about my condition/disability even though I was about to pass out.
