I have enjoyed wine tastings at House Wine. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful always. They have wonderful cheeses as well. The kicker is that a day before Christmas, I went in to ask if they had a decorative bag I could purchase for a bottle of gin I had bought at another store. The person handed me a lovely bag and when I pulled out my wallet and asked how much, they said it was free (on the House, so to speak). I dont know the last time I received anything free; it made me love them even more.

Great wine and local craft cheese selection. Perfect place to grab a bottle of sparkling wine ti enjoy the sunset in Acadia.

Wouldnt even bother doing business here.My seven year old had a bathroom emergency and we were right out front of this shop. He absolutely could not hold it, and was in tears when we walked in and asked to use the bathroom. The woman working there gave us a dirty look and refused, leaving my kid in humiliation as he couldnt hold his bowels anymore and was forced to have diarrhea in his shorts. I dont care if you have the best wine in the world, if youre going to treat a child like that, you dont deserve the business.

I dont drink wine, however I have family who does. I wanted to bring something home for them and had no clue what to look for. The lady working there was very kind and helpful to pick out a bottle that I am sure my parents will love.

Terrific wine shop with extremely knowledgable and helpful owner and staff. House Wine offers regular Friday afternoon themed tastings. In addition to a fine selection of wines, this shop also provides the best selection of craft beers and fine cheeses in Bar Harbor.

Great selection of boutique / small producer wines (for example, they offer several different Gruner Veltliner wines, which are generally unusual to find). Also have a decent (~20) selection of microbrews. Definitely worth a visit.

They steered us towards two very delicious bottles of wine and some really good local cheeses. Very laid back atmosphere, but very helpful.

Decent selection of wine but the staff is not very knowledgeable.. Especially about local wines... Which is kind of why you go into a place like this.
