Adorable hidden gem of Baltimore. You can smell the quality of ingredients used as you walk in and the people are very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable about the imports from wine to vinegar to pasta and canned fish. The focaccia was fresh out of the oven, and looks and tastes phenomenal.

Everything we ate was delicious and even though we ate alot, nothing felt overly heavy or greasy. We tried the celery salad and pate to start, which was so yummy that I didnt take a picture of it. For the entree, we had the ravioli and scallops. Both were really good, perfectly sized and not heavy. Scallops were tender and cooked to perfection. For dessert, we had the blueberry and gooseberry tart which was amazing and wasnt overly sweet and hit all of my personal flavor profiles! This isnt a big restaurant, so service was great and the atmosphere was intimate. The bathrooms were gender neutral and had a cute waiting area outside. We loved the whole experience and would love to come back again with our friends!

Its definetily everything its cracked up to be. My brother made reservations well in advance before our trip to Baltimore back in Feb. Its a small bistro with seating for less than 30. The menu is all limited but what they do with their ingredients is phenomenal. Like who thought a celery salad could be so delicious???Theres been so many articles written about this place from proffesionals that I cant really justifying writing anything technical about this place. Layman terms: Excellent!

I cant express in words how much I love this place. A small cozy restaurant with only 8 tables with the only physical menus lining the walls, mirrors, and chalkboards. Not only do I love the environment but the food and service were absolutely amazing. We ordered the grilled swordfish and bavette. For appetizers we ordered the saint marcellin which we thought would be a consolation prize because the paté was sold out but that is just no true. It was so good we decided to get the half wheel of camebert which was amazing. The cheeses and in house bread were perfect, you have to order them. The swordfish and bavette were delicious, but the bread and cheese is what really stole the show in my opinion. Absolutely loved our experience, I highly recommend you put in your reservation and try them for yourself.

Have a new favorite restaurant in Baltimore and can’t stop telling all of my friends about it! We asked Rosemary, one of the owners, to suggest the best items on the menu and she brought out diverse and delicious plates to complement our wine. We ordered two of the duck gnocchi, but the celery salad (of all things) might have actually been my favorite. Leave room for the yuzu cheesecake for dessert! Lovely atmosphere as well - warm, inviting, modern and playful. Can’t wait to come back.

We heard about this new place recently and we were pleasantly surprised and how good the food, especially the sauces were. My friend had a nice Italian Rose that she thought was better than a number of French Rose wines shes had. We had the pate and we each had a wonderful entree too. Small place with seating for about 28. One of the best meals weve had in a very long time! The chocolate dessert was amazing!

Every single praise and accolade Le Comptoir du Vin has received is 100% deserved. From the hearty grilled bread to the curried lentils to the robust dessert cheese, each item tickled your taste buds with delight. The location and the atmosphere were comfortably unassuming. Even with an intimidating selection of wines for the novice oenophile, one could be assured that each choice was exciting and memorable as the next.

Wow! Great service, food, and beverages. It definitely lives up to the hype. We were a group of four and had almost everything on the menu. The blood sausage was great, even though we were nervous to try. Make sure you book well ahead in advance. Definitely a hot spot in Baltimore!

We had the most unbelievable dinner on 12/10/19. The Saint Marcellin cheese appetizer YUM and do not miss the chicken liver Pate. The BEST. Delicious. Entrees were the scallops and a pasta and ham ravioli. The husband had the chocolate nemesis with whipped cream. Beautiful. A bottle of a natural red wine - perfection. Can’t wait to go back.

This restaurant is amazing! I have been hearing a buzz about it for a while and finally, got to experience it for myself. We were a party of 4 and shared a few small plates. Everything we put in our mouth was incredible! The chef is so creative w his ingredients and flavors! For the main course I had the vegetarian lentil dish. I keep thinking about this dish! Amazing flavors and the flatbread which is made in house was also, amazing! I will be going back for sure! New favorite!!!!!

Food, ambiance, wine and service were all exceptional. Unfussy, personable, cozy, elegant and refined -- this is my new favorite, forever and ever, amen. I cant stop thinking about those lentils. Beautiful atmosphere and decor, with superb food and wine. The menus are classic and innovative at the same time. Smells great in there, and the bread was amazing. They are dedicated to a quality experience here. Reserve a table. I was there on a Saturday, the restaurant was full, but still a very relaxed environment. Looking forward to warmer weather to see what the back yard has to offer.

Went here this past weekend and were underwhelmed. The cocktail selection was only very traditional drinks, gin and tonic, moscow mule, paloma, etc, that seemed boring without any description. We had the pate and persimmon dishes as appetizers, chicken roulade and scallops as entrees and chocolate nemesis and biscoff tart for dessert. All the courses were somehow sweet without a depth of flavor. The pate was not a pate but a mousse and there seemed to be something pureed/mousse in each dish with the mascarpone from the persimmon appetizer seemingly repeated in the tart dessert. The chocolate nemesis was a flourless chocolate cake, nothing more or less. I would recommend Petit Louis for French bistro food.

Must go! Word is out. This is a must go dinner experience. Our party of 5 ordered all the appetizers to share. Then shares two entrees of chicken and potatoes potatoes with rojo mojo sauce and the lentil dish. Each dish was a treat for the palate! Haven’t had food this good in a long time. Small, quaint restaurant, excellent service, astounding food, unique wines. Just go!!!

Recent changes to the decor also make it brighter and appear bigger. And now a Bon Appétit top ten new restaurant! Dont miss out on this place.

Who would think that sourdough bread could be SO fantastic, but that was the start to a culinary artisanal experience. Followed by a truly innovative take on steak tartare and a delicious yellow fin tuna dish with piperade. The plates are perfectly sized so that you feel satisfied and are priced so that you dont have to break the bank.

Ka
Review №45

Le Comptoir is a delightful restaurant with a rustic French feel. We started our dinner with the house grilled sourdough with French seaweed butter. It was AMAZING. The celery salad was a bright segue into our main courses. The steak tartare was a standout -- served pre-seasoned and with a seared crust that provides an interesting and approachable texture for those trying this dish for the first time. Wills Lyonnais roots are evident in his imaginative take on French classics with a twist. Portions are sized so that a couple could comfortably share three dishes and a starter or dessert. The wine list is reasonably priced and sourced from undiscovered French producers personally selected by Rosemary. This is destined to become a favorite neighborhood restaurant for drop-ins and patrons of The Charles!
