These are designer fabrics. You are paying for them to be designer - there is no amount of quality that can go into creating a brocade that would make it worth over $300 a yard. Thats the cost of the name brand. And when I asked about the fiber content, I got a really non-comital silk and um, wool, and uh Rayon? The company manufactures them and I just stock them. I can purchase hand-woven reproduction 100% silk brocades for less. Yes, they really are hand-woven. Yes, the quality really is superb. Yes, it really is 100% silk.

Really wonderful store with a treasure trove of fabric in every room. The owner was patient with my questions, gave me plenty of time to browse, and was clearly more interested in me finding something I wanted than just making a sale.

One of the most expansive (and expensive) fabric places I have been to! I loved everything they had... Such a great selection, just a little high of a price tag on some fabrics. PAR on some too. I would definitely be back and will be keeping an eye for sale emails!

Shopped here while visiting my friend in Baltimore. Amazing and varied selection, the fabrics range from simple to high end designer. If you are a creative, it is such a fun place to browse and get inspired. The staff is ridiculously nice, informed, and accommodating.

I visited the store today, and the staff was so friendly, kind, and very helpful. They had everything I asked for in order make a mask for the my coworkers. I am so Thankful for them, for being open and for allowing me the opportunity to get what was needed without any hassle. I would definitely recommend them to any and everyone. ♥️♥️♥️

Amazing shop full of the most beautiful fabrics I have ever seen. I found the shop looking for somewhere in Baltimore to buy silk, and have been coming back almost every week since. Jonathan, Michael and Debbie are lovely and great to talk to and always find me whatever I need for even my most off-kilter creations. So excited we have an amazing shop like this in town. There is a range from inexpensive stuff to incredible couture fabrics from Chanel, Valentino, and Dior, and if they dont have it in shop, Jon can usually find and order whatever you may need. I cant even find the gorgeous fabrics they sell in New York and Europe.

So this was my first official time visiting“ A Fabric Place” I checked the business hours online and I saw that they closed at 9pm. When I arrived at the store, I wasn’t aware that the business hours have changed due to the COVID-19(always make sure to call in before arriving to get correct hours due to the pandemic). I called the store and Mr.Michael answered, he was so kind right away and he still let me in even though they were closed. As soon as I walked in, my eyes lit up. They have such an amazing variety of fabric that I couldn’t even find in NewYork. That says a lot. He even let me look and he let me take my time so I could get exactly what I was looking for. This company truly has amazing customer service along with amazing fabric. This is the way to run a business and have customers for life. Thank you Mr.Michael for all of your help, guys please visit and support amazing business. I will be reposting about you guys all over my social media platforms and letting all of my friends and family know about you guys. I’ll make sure to spread the word as much as I can. This is a real, non-chain fabric store. Alas I am not sewing much these days...but this would be my hangout if I were.... However... they have THE BEST BUTTON selection which I frequent often for my knitting and felting projects. People always comment on the buttons on my knitwear... so obviously they are eye catching. Their ribbons and trims are also great. Nice people run the store and are always helpful. A must go to place if you, like me, seek the real and the local over the chain and the mega corporate monoliths.

My fiancee comes here for fabric for all of my pants and suits. There is a giant suiting wall in the back with some really great wools.

Great place! Very expensive, but if you find the right thing, it is worth the price. Usually, great customer service. VERY BAD WITH GIFT CARDS AND PROMOTIONS!! I purchased a gift card, and without telling me, a few months later, they added an expiration date. The next time I visited the store and tried to use my gift card, they told me they added an expiration date and it was too late for me to use it. $100 down the drain!! I used to only have good things to say about the store, but not anymore, and I am turned off and nervous to go again.

I had the pleasure of visiting this Fabric store today. I was in awe for what I saw and could choose. This is the place to purchase the material for that one of a kind evening dress, prom dress or outfit. The staff is very courteous, helpful and patient.🤗

This place is great! I was referred to this establishment by a friend who makes mens neckware. I expected to find a limited selection of the silk fabrics that I came in search of. Much to my surprise and pleasure, there was much more of a selection than I imagined. Micheal is very knowledgable and eager to teach you about textiles. I needed as much info as possible. I will definitely return when I have more time to thumb through their enormous selection. Good products. Good people. Excellent service.

A fabric place had a good selection of high quality fabrics for evening wear and designer (read: expensive) shirting and suiting. They have a decent selection of solid knits, and can order other colors if you need it. The service is wonderful (although the man tends to try to upsell you), and the staff is very knowledgeable.On the other hand, their selection of patterned knits is dated/frumpy, they have next to no rayon/viscose, and their lawn/voille prints section is very small and doesnt change much over time. Also, other than buttons, their findings/notions section is very sad.Bottom line, its your best (and only) option for apparel fabric without driving to DC or Philly, but if you need something specific, call ahead.

Ive shopped here 6-8 times over the last 18 months, and I have to say I *love* this place. I get the kind of buzz that a trip to G Street Fabrics used to give me 20+ years ago: the fabric quality and variety inspires me and the staff is superb. This is THE place to go for buttons and nice garment fabrics, whether it be cottons, linens, silks, woolens, fancy laces, or nice polys and blends. Their designer end cuts of Zenga, rich boucles, and the ever-dependable Sophia ponte knits are worth the trip. The people here can advise you on colors, linings, etc. Try that at a chain fabric store...NOT! If you are a garment sewist, this is your holy grail outside of NYC.
