Great vibe. Went in for an ice coffee and ended up sitting down to relax and drink it. I had asked when ordering if they had hummus not on a bagel but in a bowl. They didnt. While sipping my coffee the owner brought over, gratis, hummus on toast! So very nice. And... Ive been back numerous times and have ordered the egg salad sandwich with a side of pasta for lunch. Both the sandwich and pasta are delicious.
A clean, well lighted place. Love the cheery palate. Great coffee, friendly staff and comfortable upstairs seating area
Brewed coffee and sandwiches were good. The bag of light roasted bean has been good. The shot of espresso was the only negative. It was a sour drink, unpleasant. They need a good Italian roast like you find at Zekes or Daily Grind.
We got the croissant and bagel breakfast sandwiches and both were very disappointing. They use egg mix instead of real eggs, the sausage seemed like it was microwaved, and the croissant was more like bread. The service was prompt and the establishment was eclectic. Based on other reviews I would go back to try something else, but I do not recommend their breakfast sandwiches.
One of my favorite coffee shops in Baltimore HANDS DOWN! I am always greeted with warmth and excitement - even if its super busy. If you ever have time to sit and enjoy your coffee please go upstairs and enjoy the view! I get excited every time a table space is open. Great neighborhood gem! I never have an issue with parking.
The perfect little neighborhood coffee shop. The coffee is great and the space upstairs is a wonderful place to either meet someone or just hang out.
Great coffee at this place! Very relaxing atmosphere with great breakfast. Everyone is very friendly!
Koba Cafe may very well be my favorite place in Baltimore City. When I first moved to Baltimore (over a year ago now) I was looking for friendly, open place to enjoy a coffee and get work done over the weekend. Words can hardly describe how quickly I fell in love with the staff, atmosphere, and smoothies at Koba Cafe. Whether you are looking for a bright place to enjoy a drink with a friend, or trying to find a unique art piece to hang in your home... Koba Cafe has it all and more. I highly recommend checking it out, and returning to check it out again and again!
Me and my family were riding around looking for something to eat early in the morning, So we found this place plus there where a good amount of line outside so we suppose to was nice. We ordered a bagel egg and sausage and a croissant egg and sausage sandwich. It looked good but when I tell you I bit inside of my sandwich and started chewing .. a disappointment. The egg was microwave and it had no taste at all to the sandwich.. Both of them at that.. It just made we have a bad morning because of it was a wast of money. At your own risk
Love this place. Owner is extremely gregarious and engaging. All day bfast is a favorite.
Only thing worse than the chocolate chip muffin was my coffe and my wife’s mocha.
Good food, good service.
Very friendly staff. Their tuna salad is delicious!
10/10 Would recommend. Coffee is awesome. Vibe is awesome. Service is awesome. Places like this are the type that I like to support. Upstairs area is great for studying. Very clean and complaint with CDC guidelines.
The best neighborhood cafe! Everyone is so friendly and they have excellent specialty coffees. Taking a walk over to Koba on the weekends is one of our favorite weekend morning activities!
Delicious Avocado Toast with a perfect cappuccino. Way to start the morning.
Cant imagine my mornings without this cup of coffee :)
Great place. Loved the coffee and service.
Love this place! The people working were super nice and friendly. Atmosphere was really nice and laid back, lots of art and unique features. Food and drink were delicious. And of course its always great to support a small, local business and black owned business right here in Baltimore!I got the Mocha Freeze- it tasted amazing! I’ve also gotten their plain iced mocha and it tasted great. Awesome flavor. I also got the Breakfast Burrito special- yum and super fresh! Lastly got a chocolate chip muffin- always a winner. Will definitely be returning!
Great neighborhood corner café with excellentcoffee. The interior is comfortable with an upstairs that has a meeting space and tables to hang out, read, or work. Ownership is great and the staff is friendly. They have a small but excellent menu, a pastry case, a good selection of bottled drinks, and interesting snacks.
Great coffee and great food! Peaceful atmosphere.
Great little spot for sandwiches and drinks. I love their smoothie since they use fresh fruit and juice and didnt add yogurt.
Our favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Really friendly staff, good coffee, and good cafe food. The quiche, bagels, or smoothies are our typical go-to items. Upstairs has a cozy study environment and small tables for friends to catch up. This place is a delight to have in our neighborhood!
This is a very nice place to spend an hour on a coffee break. I highly recommend this coffee shop to everyone.
Staff is always timely even when they have a full house. The service was very friendly and kind. Prices were appropriate.
Great coffee, great service
You want a little love 💕 in the morning? Go see Adam and his crew. What a neighborhood gem! I always leave feeling better about my self which isnt on the menu. Its free.
A great local coffee shop with friendly employees, fresh coffee and delicious treats!
Nice ambiance, good coffee. Not the greatest service though, but that could just have been 1 person so Im going back again.Edit; I went back twice and had great service both times. Upgraded to 5 stars.
Friendly staff, coffee was good. Didnt get any food
Ive had better coffee. The place is nice though.
Great coffee and bagels 😋!!!
This is a friendly local coffee shop that sells excellent coffee, a wide range of teas, home baking and also lunches made on the premises. I have been quite a few times. The staff are friendly and very efficient. All in all definitely worth a visit.
Ill return family next time. This place has a cool atmosphere.
Love this local neighborhood gem and have been coming here for years. Very friendly staff, good coffee and snacks, and a nice upstairs area if you need a quiet place to work on your laptop.
Such good study vibes
I love to grab a slice of quiche in the morning before work. They always offer to warm it up and wrap it up to go if Im on the run. For lunch, you cant go wrong with their chicken salad wrap.
I love this place and come here often. The staff are always kind and prompt. Exactly what I need after a sleeping in on the weekends.
Fantastic turkey club sandwich!
Simply delightful, wonderful food and excellent service. Highly recommended and will definitely return. Thank you!
I love this little cafe! Everyone is so friendly and they have awesome iced coffee. Standout food items include the chocolate yogurt bread and the avocado toast - its got a nice punch to it. I have several friends who work from home and will sometimes work at Koba; they have an upstairs lounge in addition to the first level.
Helli, my name is Keith Wehberg and I would like to say, Adam of Kobe Cafe is a great man and his coffee is the best. I highly recommend that you buy your coffee at Kobe Cafe. Been drinking thier coffee for almost 10 years and I love it more every day.
The owner and employees are very quick, kind and professional. Upstairs has a cozy, hipster vibe with spaces for lounging and doing work. Plenty of outlets and wifi. Love their iced coffee.
First off the atmosphere of jobs cafe is very welcoming. Every visit, you are greeted with a warm welcome and the employees there are always friendly. The food and coffee is always on point. It is a really nice place to hang out.Check it out, you wont be disappointed!!
Koba cafe is incredible. Its run by a man named Adam. He genuinely cares about his customers and will greet people by name as they enter the cafe! His products are awesome, I especially like the Almond Joy coffee and all of the smoothies! Upstairs is an open area with a lot of tables where people often go to do work/ study/ etc. Oh, and its dog friendly!! LOVE!
Koba has everything you could ask for in a neighborhood coffee shop- excellent drinks (the iced coffee is my favorite in the summer), friendly staff who greet you by name, tasty breakfast bites/pastries, and a nice quiet space to get work done. On work from home days I often spend 4-6 hours here and the staff is never pushy or resentful. The smoothies are good too- I recommend the Caribbean with almond milk.
This is everything I want in a coffee shop. The staff was very friendly but not fake friendly. They were genuine and welcoming. When I asked about wifi they told me to go ahead upstairs and theyd bring me my coffee. Upstairs had several people just working on their computers. It was comfy, cozy and quiet. Its the perfect environment to get some work done and have some coffee. This will be my go to shop from now on.
Quiet and quaint. The upstairs is very calming for study or chilling. Internet is fast and the climate is what youd expect from a second floor old corner shop. The downstairs is clean, the staff helpful and friendly and the coffee delicious. Adam the owner is also great. Meet hi if you can.
Cute little neighborhood coffee house and cafe. Friendly staff. Food and coffee were tasty!
The second floor is great for studying/working (muted and cozy). Friendly service and a variety of quality drink and food options presented in an unpretentious setup - it’s as if your favorite beachside coffee shop moved to Bmore.
Service with a smile, clean, quiet and charming with beautiful African music playing in the background. The espresso is what I get and when Im hungry here I get the APPLE CHICKEN SALAD. when you get done eating this salad you will have about 50% more energy than you had before you ate it. I love foods that do that. You can order and then sit down and theyll bring it to you. Downstairs is sunny and conversational, upstairs is focused and quiet. you get the best of both worlds here.
A great neighborhood spot with a large variety of food and drinks with a friendly staff
Great spot for a quick cup of joe and a quiet read of your fave book. Its seems to be becoming a popular sport for students to study. Its a very quaint spot offers a nice open space for seating upstairs. I really like the vibe. Quiet. Cozy.
Ive been here many times to do some work and read. The coffee is very good, the pastries (at least the ones Ive tried) are really good. The owner - great guy every time Ive seen him there. The upstairs I would say is the best study/work spot in a Baltimore coffee shop. Its kind of dilapidated, but heck this is Baltimore. Even has a small conference room which Ive used if its empty. Ill go here again, no problem. Id give it 4.5 stars if I could, but Ill round up since the owner is great, good coffee, service excellent, and work/study area so functional.
I have found a new thinking spot. The coffee - regular and espresso - were strong but not bitter. The chicken cáprese had the right amount of pesto. The carrot cake and banana bread were fresh and delicious. I spent the whole day there and the staff were nothing but accommodating. Thank you!

First visit here and certainly wont be the last. Friendly staff, great menu for both drinks and small bites, and I probably cant say enough about the atmosphere. Warm and welcoming, and the upstairs part is much quieter with a lot of seats, bar space, and tables. Definitely a great place to get some work done or to get away and knock out a chapter or two of that book youve been meaning to get to.If I had one complaint at all it would be I wish they had matcha drinks. But thats me being picky and can not take away from the 5 stars!
Super friendly, above-and-beyond service. Good vibe. Good coffee. A wee bit pricey. But it’s a high quality, down to earth local business. Buy their stuff.
When I think of Koba, I think of the theme song from Cheers. This is definitely a place where everybody knows your name, it is the heart of the neighborhood. The coffee is well made, the food and smoothies are delicious and it has the best spot to do work or hang out (upstairs) in all of Fed Hill. If I could give it six stars I would! Keep up the great work!
Great coffee, decent food, and nice staff. Upstairs is a great place to study. Its quiet with many different seating options. Downstairs is good for coffee and conversation.
Very cute coffee shop. In a very historical, social part of Baltimore with a lot going on around. (side note: refills for coffee are super expensive).
A nice little hidden coffee shop. The 2nd floor is perfect for those who need a quite environment to study/read.
A favorite neighborhood coffee spot. Nice relaxing place to sit and enjoy good coffee, good music.
Extraordinary customer service and an environment that makes you feel like youre at home. I usually get the espresso or perrier. I also really like the lintel soup and the apple chicken salad
Very very cool place to relax with a cup of tea. Its like Starbucks but less corporate with better food and more reasonable prices. Staff is always friendly and the place is always clean whenever I go in. Highly recommended!
Everybody was extremely nice, going the extra step to make sure I was comfortable and enjoyed my order. Upstairs area is perfect for doing work with plenty of seating and outlets so you can bring your laptop and other devices and just park yourself here for the day.
Ive been going to Koba Cafe for years and it is one of my favorite places to get coffee in Baltimore!! The owner, Adam, remembers everyone and he and and his staff are always extremely friendly and efficient. I also love getting a breakfast sandwich and their smoothies are incredible!!
Very Good!
They have fantastic vegan smoothies in several flavors. I love how simple the ingredients are-- no added bs.
Great vanilla latte
I love going there .its an enjoyable place to just sit drink coffee and talk with freinds
Staff is really friendly and the environment is equally conducive to quiet study or a nice meal with your friends. Bright and cheerful inside - one of the best coffee shops in south Baltimore.
Great space, but terrible food and customer service. I can’t believe I spent $6.50 on a sandwich I could have made better myself. I’ve been twice, with the first experience not being good with customer service and not knowing how to make a simple drink. I wanted to give it a second chance, but still bad.
Adam is one of the best small business owners around. Personal touch and service to everything he does! Great coffee and atmosphere...
Everything Bagel & Lox w/ a medium roast coffee made my morning.
It is a good place for a good cup of coffee. Very laid back and not your commercial coffee shop either....in the best way!
I love this coffee shop, the coffee is very good, the staff is nice and has a very cute style. Its nice and quiet in the upper floor so I usually go there to study.
Very cozy and super clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Went out of the way to make me a amazing flatwhite and bagel. We will be returning...
Staff is incredibly friendly. Food is fresh and healthy, and if course the coffee was great. Oh yeah, their entrees come with chips or pasta.
Love this place! Friendly staff, great prices, fantastic selection, and the perfect environment to work or chat.
First time in Baltimore, first cup of coffee here, and a wonderful experience by both staff and quality of goods. Their coffee was genuinely tasty. Absolutely recommend, and Ill probably be back throughout the rest of my stay to try more of the menu!
Great local coffee spot in SOBO. Super friendly staff, good coffee, and quick bites
Very cozy and quiet. Staff very courteous and pleasant
They make great coffee. The upstairs lounge is a fantastic place to work.Update: The employees really are the nicest people. On an extremely hot day recently, I came down from the lounge to leave and the barista had a large cup of ice water ready to go and insisted that I take it as I went out.
Great place for a coffee or espresso. Lots of space to sit and relax. I had a double espresso and it was well made!
Hands down the best place to grab a coffee and catch up with neighborhood friends in Locust Point. The food & grab-and-go selections are far batter than any other shops in the area. Adam greets everyone who walks through the door warmly. A+++
Nice place to hang out. Right off the banner bus line so friendly to tourists but has more of a local friendly vibe
Kind staff, good food, great coffee
