Such a sweet little spot! The staff is so wonderful, friendly, and handled the flow of customers with ease. My brunch was to-go but they have a lot of seating in three segmented areas, but the one right off the main space has the best natural lighting. π The Lox and CC sandwich on sourdough bread with vegetables was a-mazing and the mango smoothie was tasty and smooth (not like other places where they arent fully blended π€’). Both choices were chosen by the cashier. So glad I asked her opinion! I didnt get her name but she has dark hair and adorable glasses. Quick tip: If youre ordering food, be excepted to wait 10min so you dont get frustrated. π **I travel just about everywhere with my dog. Although the coffeeshop itself isnt dog friendly, the coffee shop has a window you can place your order for ease. Theres even a few benches outside across the cobblestone with a gorgeous view of the water and in walking distance to the Sagamore Pendry Hotel if youre just visiting. So close, the edge of the hotel is in picture 2 and 11-12 π**
Cozy, local coffeehouse. Relaxed, quiet atmosphere with tons of natural light. Iced coffee was perfect and breakfast sandwich (bagel with egg and cheese) was tasty. Staff was friendly, efficient and accommodating. Very reasonably priced given location (right on the waterfront). Will likely become weekend regulars!
I go out of my way to get here whenever Im in the city, I absolutely adore the iced white russian coffee, so much that I got 2 today so I could take one home to put in the refrigerator for tomorrow. Staff is very friendly and nice and the place has a nice comfortable ambiance to it. I particularly love sitting with my coffee in the little alleyway hallway.
This place is so cool! A cute coffee shop right on the water in Baltimore. The staff was wonderful and the coffee was very good! I had a decaf hazelnut latte and a stroopwafel. Their menu looked great and had so many filling options, and they had a few gluten free options, but dont come if you are really hungry and need that.
Delicious brews and drinks! I had the sausage, egg, and cheese on an English muffin (turkey sausage and regular sausage both tasted delicious and were not rubbery like you find sometimes with even more expensive places). Prices were competitive and there was plenty of variety. Drip coffee was amazing, considering it was the basic blends. Mocha, dirty chai, and London fog (a little weak) were all worth their price! Dining area was only ok, but many places these days are focusing more on outdoor spaces.
Its what we SHOULD expect from a decent coffeehouse! Gosh-darn good espresso, coffee and the charm that gives the Charm City its nickname. Its now pumpkin spice season (autumn). But, we can keep exploring. I recently re-discovered their flavor and sauce menu -- its posted plain as day on their overhead menu, in large friendly letters!Have you tried a Rose Latte? Or maybe Lavender? Almond? At the Daily Grind you can try these and about a dozen fun flavors =DThe Rose Latte has a very interesting unique taste and after taste experience. The after taste almost feels as if the taste blossoms afterwards. They bring in the beans and freshly grind the beans themselves. You can pick up ground coffee to make at home too.Im mainly a latte drinker and have been trying their offerings. Thier espressos and Americano drinks are smooth. They also make a White Russian coffee thats off-menu but everyone there seems to be trained on making them. The flavor is balanced and feels just right. So, the coffee flavor has a chance to please before the caramel greets your taste buds.It has Its own unique flavor, it isnt milk heavy as Dunkin lattes can be and its not like Starbucks either. Price is higher than Dunkin. Im willing to pay for the higher quality. Classic Quality vs Quantity decision: You could get a medium at Dunkins for the cost of a small Daily Grind latte. The location is pleasing too, an excellent view of the waterfront. As of October 21 they have a new deck with tall chairs facing the riverside. Indoor dining is open again.Service is professional. Wait time depends on when you arrive, there can be a long line. Its a daytime coffeehouse so arrive before 5, thats when they close.Check out their pictures on Google maps, Ive been posting the latte art.**Dont expect to get latte art; it depends on the busyness and the mood of the person making the drinks. Its a nice boon of going to a local coffee shop.**update: tips might help brighten everyones mood. ;-P(Review updated: 15 Oct 2021)
Terrible coffee shop. I was waiting outside to order with my dog and never acknowledged me. I asked for water for my dog who was hot and very thirsty and they gave me a dirty look. I ended up leaving. I used to love this place but not will never go back after how they treat their dog owner customers. This coffee shop needs to do better
Amazing drinks! Tried the Breve w/ Carmel, espresso shot and also a hazelnut mocha(Ferrero Rocher) latte
They are not dog friendly unless you would like to sit outside by the Crab restaurant that smells of old seafood as you try to enjoy your coffee.
Espresso incredibly bitter and the beans are over-roasted. Breakfast sandwiches were good.
This place has ample indoor seating, a takeout window for when youve got your dog in tow, some good food options, and solid coffee. Its everything you would want out of a neighborhood coffee shop.
I went in here and became immediately confused. Customer was next to me and immediately started grilling me a series of yes or no questions. Eventually I was denied entry into the building and forged my own signature in order to exit. From sea to shining sea! Photos to come shortly...
We were staying up the street and stopping here was very convenient and everything was really good (*Β΄κ³`*)(^_β)ββ‘ to the person who made my brothers cute heart Jitter coffee
The coffee from here was average at best but not the reason for the two stars. The service is absolutely terrible if you use the walk up window outside. We ordered two lattes and waited 10 minutes or more to be just given one. Thinking that maybe they were still making the other we waited another few minutes. We went inside to ask and thats when they realized they didnt make the drink yet.Dunkin Donuts on a good day is what this coffee tasted like. A large for 5.75 just does not seem worth it.For the price, Id much rather get coffee anywhere else - Ceremony, Avely, Cafe Dear Leon (Canton) or even Pitango.
Cozy, tasty and simply the best cup of coffee..
Good, very hot, coffee. Nice choice of breakfast items. Great location!
The Daily Grind serves up great coffee and sandwiches. As a weekend treat I often get a latte or a half-sweet mocha. Both are delicious.
Only place worth visiting while in Fells Point
The iced coffee was a welcome relief from the heat. Friendly staff and a decent selection of food items.
Hands down best dirty chai in the city!I have not tried a smoother chai at any other coffee shop. Their flat white is on point too. 100% recommended!
Coffee here is top notch. The selection of house roasted beans are good and competitively priced
Cold brew is smooth and bold and not too citrusy which is the flavor profile I was looking for.Online ordering platform is simple to navigate and being able to use Apple Pay is a plus.Staff is extremely friendly. Pickup window makes the process even more simple.
Greta place for coffee, their shakes are excellent excellent.
Packed but good
Great coffee and breakfast sandwhiches here!
Prices are fair, product is good, wait was ridiculous. Took 20 minutes for two coffees? No, thanks.
The people that work there arenβt nice at all. Food was good.
Just a great local neighborhood coffee shop. Not fancy but very urban cool. Lots of space in the back with exposed brick and large windows to see outside. Staff arent overly friendly but professional, busy (which is probably why) and make great drinks and food. Stop here weekly on my waterfront walks.... Never an issue to get a water and use the bathroom which makes you want to support them. They also have a doggy window for those who want water for their pups or want to order outside for themselves. Great location on Thames. Definitely a Daily Grind fan.
I love this place for their Cafe Mocha and sammiches.
The coffee was great but the cashier was rude.
Daily Grind is awesome! They have (affordable) food, coffee, tea, whatever you want. LOTS of seating and great for hanging out. Very cute, simple, laid-back cafe in a GREAT location!
Im a loyal customer of 3 years. Hooked after my first cup
Delicious local coffee joint!
Being a latte lover, thereβs something really special about the coffee that canβt be beat. I recently started using almond milk instead of regular milk and enjoy it just as much. The almond milk really frost up nicely.
Love this place. Super good quesadillas! Far more enjoyable than the other coffee place nearby.
Im fairly picky about bagel sandwiches but man these were good! toasted, hot and fresh I loved every bite. Their coffee was wonderful and strong as well. Highly recommend!
Great coffee, bagels, and sandwiches. Friendly staff. Plus, they have a doggy door so you dont have to bring your dog in- you can order and takeaway from the window!
Ive been going there since they first opened in the spot next door some time in the 1980s
Great selection of coffee and food here - and you can get beans to go, too. Plenty of students studying quietly in the spacious dining rooms. Its not a totally quiet though, if youre looking for silence.
Latte was pretty good. Excellent breakfast sandwiches!
Really good espresso
A funky, comfortable urban coffee haunt, amenable to those of us who like to spend an hour or two sipping a coffee while we read or write. Good coffee, bagels and baked goods. Metered street parking, but hey, this is the city.
Decent breakfast sandwich, amazing dirty chai and they gave my dog a slice of cheese
Friendly staff, nice selection of hot and cold beverages, plenty of seating and free wifi. Great place to work on projects alone or with others. No hassling from staff.
RECOMMENDATION: Ferreror Rocher Mocha - I had actually asked if the drink is pretty sweet and they asked if I wanted it less sweet :-)I just happened to find this place as a close walk to my friends place and I am so glad I did! What a neat layout with delicious drinks, pastries/snacks, free wifi, lots of seating and plenty of options and customizations for your drink! If I was staying longer, this would have been a daily stop for me and definitely a place I would love to sit and work or study.
The coffee i had was pretty good. I always get the same muffin which is delicious. My husband gets sandwiches which i taste and its very very bland. Looks great and it healthy but its so tasteless. I ordered a eggsalad sandwich, same thing incredibly bland. Also sorry but the tables are so gritty. At least the ones up front. I barely want to touch them. Please clean those or get new tables. But over all. I really do like the place.
Great selection of coffees.
Great date idea. Love the veggie burger!!! Date loved the jitter coffee
Very good spot for coffee or latte. Better than Starbucks
Large variety of coffee beverages and sandwiches. Service is hit-or-miss. Some baristas friendlier while others dont seem to enjoy social interaction
Its a decent coffee shop and theyve got a ton of options for coffee and tea. They also had baked goods and a soda selection. Im only giving it a 4 and not a 5 because there was a very long crowded line and the area we sat in was dirty.
Can the sad Australian expat not find a decent coffee in Baltimore? Not only did they only pour coffee into takeaway cups, their coffee was luke warm and sweet. The chai is made with a mix rather than brewedI feel like cryingFor goodness sake youβve got a wonderful back area - turn it into a garden rather than a dumpster surrounded by weedsIts saving grace is that it isnβt Starbucks
Very good coffee. Would have liked the option to have coffee in ceramic coffee cup. Staff was... not particularly pleasant.
Great quick service. Quiet areas to enjoy some peace! Highly recommended
The island in the middle has all the condiments for the coffee and sandwiches. The atmosphere is nice and quiet with free wifi. Its beautiful and nice and quiet.
Could be 6 stars...Rated as one of the best places to work from home in Baltimore and I cant completely disagree. The building itself is old and lots of cool architecture. They have a quiet place to work, right down on the harbor and the coffee is very good. A pretty big food list as well and I imagine they do the food well too.So why only a 3?* Front staff seemed a bit bothered to wait on me as I interrupted their conversation. Not a pleasant experience.* Just a bit run down - lots of scratched up paint, scuff marks on doors, overall just a bit dingy and felt dirty - I dont think it is, just felt that way. Old is cool, worn out is not* Wifi was horribly slow. I ended up using my own air card to do my workSo overall, cool place, no lies about a good place to work, just fix those things that should be updated and make sure people are greeted and feel welcome. Then it would be a 6 Star place.
Good espresso drinks, ok coffee - but thatβs personal preference. Great bagels, fair prices. The thing with this place is that quite a few homeless people hang out here. Though I kind of want to say that is cool of them to accommodate, the smell and cleanliness factor become problematic. Complicating this, there is not a general vibe of cleanliness in the seating area in general. You donβt see staff going around wiping down tables or disinfecting anything.
Overpriced coffee and light fare served up by snotty hipster kids. If you park out front pay the meter or get $35 ticket from city for running in and suppporting the local cafe. Expect to get hassled by bums out front either way.
Such friendly staff and great coffee. The powerhouse sandwich with turkey is my favorite.
Walked by here at approximately 7:15pm looking for a Cafe but the sign said closed. Must not be open until 8pm like advertised.EDIT: I went back the next day(earlier) and had a latte. It was awesome.
Service: 2/5Coffee: Slightly better taste than that go-to gas station.Location: Awesome. It felt as though my presence of ordering a medium coffee was an inconvenience.
Iconic Fells Point coffee shop. Grungy, bohemian, great bagels. I like nearby Latte Da better for iced coffee (and cleanliness), but try a bagel sandwich at Daily Grind, excellent and cheap.
This is the best coffee place in Fells Point. It has a variety of drinks, coffee by the pound, and inexpensive, filling breakfast sandwiches. They have ample seating so its a great place to chat with friends, have a meeting, or catch up on work. The staff is great, as is the atmosphere!
Great place to do work. Fantastic coffee and food!
Totally mellow hospitable place. Great coffee, sandwiches made to order, snacks, lots of tables. You got to go there.
Nice little coffee shop near the harbor! Good food, great friendly, fast service with lots of choices! Plenty of seating for singles, couples and small groups
Awesome scenery! Great selection. Good prices.
Delicious coffee! Great service and line moves quick. Beautiful location and nice to sit on the water.
Great coffee. Great place to sip and relax. Stop in
The service and products provided here are the best! I have been coming here since I was 12 years old, hanging around the square and shopping at Chat St. ALOT of memories of this place in the last 28 years.
First time, Had a Java Chip blended latte and it was GREAT!! Super cute place to sit and relax.
Coffee is good. Atmosphere is very relaxed, nice. Ordered large latte.
Charming little shop with a distinctive menu and a finger on the local communitys pulse
Delicious coffee. I always get blended. Great people working there.
Friendly staff that makes a lot of great breakfast and lunch options. Plenty of space for large groups.
Always friendly staff - lines go very quickly even during a rush. I often order a breakfast sandwich and the portion size is very large. I ask for a medium-complex sandwich and its been right every time. Also, very affordable.
Place is great. You get what you want here.Staff is always friendly and they stay pretty consistent with who stays around. I live close by so I make it a priority most mornings to swing by while I take my dog on a walk. They have a dog door that you can knock on while you stay outside with you dog. They even offer treat here and there. Most days I get a breakfast sandwich as well and sit across the street on the water while I eat it. If itβs too cold and I donβt have my dog, there is plenty on indoor seating to sit with friends or bag away that research on your lap top.Later in the day they may run out of popular bagels as expected, maybe happened to me once or twice but no big deal. Also...they have Yoo-Hoo, so thatβs pretty great too.
Great place 2 unwind and drink tea and coffeeππ
I am extremely confused by this coffee shop and what it stands for. It consistently sells some of the best if not the best coffee in town, however it almost feels like the staff is purposefully trained to be impersonal to the point that its almost rude. To further add to the confusion of a negative and unwelcome vibe of a coffee shop (shouldnt it be the other way around especially when you are located in the heart of fells point?) the place is extremely dirty with tables that are literally sticky from built up dirt but somehow I can honestly say their food is also good and Ive never gotten sick here. Maybe this is their mission. Great coffee pastries and sandwishes in a dirty unfriendly and unwelcoming and almost miserable environment.
Ive been stopping by The Daily Grind about 3 times a week since Ive moved to Fells. Never had a bad experience. The coffee is always delicious.
Good Food and Good Coffee. The staff is friendly as well. They have a window that opens to the street so you can grab a coffee while youre walking your dog!
Awesome place and staff since they first opened
Very good choice of coffee, tea, pastry, sandwiches. Service is cordial and efficient. Located in one of nicest neighborhoods of Baltimores historic center. In fact this is right on the Waterfront.
Best coffee shop in Fells! In addition to coffee they also have baked goods (Cookies, muffins, cinnamon buns etc), bagels with the works, breakfast sandwiches, and deli sandwiches. Delicious and fast!
The place had a very modern feel. Great place to do some work, just read, bring a girl (or boy). When you step into the place, you smell the coffee. The only reason I didnt give this place a 5/5 is its changed. Back when fells point was the place to be, they let you see all of the beans and buy them. They also let you see a lot of the equipment, now thats a lot more modern. Some things you should modernize, but somethings you should keep the same. But overall the place was good ol Daily Grind. For all of these reasons I give Daily Grind a 4/5 - Your reviewer, Talon
Great place to meet or work without feeling like youre trapped in a windowless cave of an office. Also the coffee is decent.
Very cool cafe. Good selection and friendly folks. Muffin was not fresh though. 1-point deduction.
Efficient and friendly staff, food and coffee were tasty and cheap, pleasant and ample space.
I love coming here early morning after dropping my partner. This morning my coffee was less than lack luster. I ordered a dirty chai lite ice. She poured an entire cup full of ice, the drink was at least 1-2 inches from the top, and when I left and tried drinking it it was chalky to the point where I canβt even drink it. At least my sandwich was in good shape. Disappointed since Iβve been coming here for the last 6 years for my early morning coffee.
