Crystal has been my stylist now for almost 4 years . Ive followed all of her recommendations and she was highly recommended to me by my Niece. I cant rave enough about how satisfied I am in the service she has provided me. If I tell it all -I would be writing a book. I always leave the salon feeling beautiful and ready to be my best self. She has this wonderful oil she sells and my hair grew an inch after one month of usage- Please ask her about the oil. I continue to choose Crystal as my stylist because she is a powerful black business woman . Ive seen her work ethic and her grind . I admire her strut and grit and she knows her shi%^&T. She KNOWS what she is doing- so it needs no explanation or defense. I do NOT mind paying her because she knows her worth and i know mine . Ive learned that as a consumer I must not be afraid to ask my stylist questions upfront about how I want my hair to present my face . Whenever Ive asked Crystal to give me options - she lays them out for me and ask the biggest question of them all....What would you like? some people expect a stylist to tell you what to like - but my stylist; Crystal- hears my request, charges accordingly and my hair is perfect! I will Highly recommend her and continue to be a customer .

Microlinks and lemonade braids for my daughter.First off the experience walking in the door is always welcoming. Crystal is amazing! Music is bumping and love the hospitality. From the first time I walked in for a consultation to the time I left. I like a stylist who is very straightforward and informs you before starting on your hair It is comforting to not waist time. Im loyal when I love your quality in work and I will continue coming from Jersey to Baltimore. I love the service of this salon. The location is great and in a well lit area for those late night hair appointments and to top it off, the salon is gorg. Crystal (the owner) is very friendly yet professional and her staff are very accommodating. I have not had a bad experience since going there. I recommend researching and knowing what you want then call the salon directly. Some services require a consultation first and pricing will be discussed at that time.

I was a first time customer at Salon XO and yes the place itself was decorated nicely; however, the owner, Crystal was cold as ice. I originally requested a full sew in weave and was quoted a price, but after seeing her clients hair done prior to her servicing me, I decided that price was too much and her work was not worth that price. I decided to just have her curl my hair and when she asked me why I changed my mind about the full weave, I was alerted by that question. My hair is very full in the back and sides, and thinning in the top and front and I did bring my own hair. To get a shampoo, blow dry and curl was $75.00. I asked Crystal if she were to place just a couple of sew in pieces in my hair what would the price be and she replied a minimum of $200.00, WOW!!!! and I purchased my own hair; I declined. I noticed when she did my hair, she did not spend quality time on my hair as she did the previous clients. Very little time and effort on my hair and I looked like an old grandma when I left her salon. It was curl my hair, left it in tight curls, no styling effort, and her attitude was, ok thanks, now out of my chair. I surmise that she gave me $75.00 worth as opposed to over $200.00 worth of time. I refused to pay top dollar for substandard styling. I went home sewed in a couple of hair pieces, took time to style my hair and my hair looked great. I cant believe how cold and uncaring, cold spirited person she appears to be. I try to support black owned businesses; however, she needs help with her cold demeanor. Maybe she is nicer the more money you are willing to spend at her salon.

Extremely unprofessional!!! I scheduled an appointment early December for December 31st. I received a notification that the appointment was accepted and I was charged a $50 deposit. On December 29th Crystal called to inform me that she was not working on the 31st (even though she accepted the appointment and took the deposit). Fine; I guess she got last minute New Years plans. We rescheduled for January 3rd. On January 2nd, I received an email to confirm my appointment, but I noticed the address to the salon was different than when I initially booked, so I sent Crystal an email to confirm the address of the appointment. To my disbelief, she responded by telling me she would not be able to do my hair on January 3rd. At this point, I was NOT interested in rescheduling with her for a third time. I asked for a refund of my deposit since these cancellations were not caused by me. At first she agreed and asked me to confirm the last 4 digits of my card; however, after providing her with the information she asked for, I didn’t hear back from her. After a week, I emailed her again to remind her that she said she would refund my money and provided my card info again. To this day, she has not responded to my email and I don’t have my refund. Save yourself and find a new stylist. Her lack of professionalism isn’t worth your money.

Found this stylist on IG, Im excited that we live in a world where one can find an awesome stylist via social media! The stylist and assistant were very nice. The atmosphere was welcoming and clean. I arrived 30 minutes late, due to heavy Friday traffic. The stylist was able to still kindly accommodated me.

Crystal and her staff were excellent during my 1st visit! The salon has posh and professional atmosphere, which contributed to an awesome experience. On top of that, my hair turned out gorgeous! Crystal really exceeded my expectations and I will definitely return!

Its 10:37 a.m. No one is here yet they supposedly open at 10:00 a.m. I shouldve know this environment was a little shady when she rushed me off the phone the day prior while asking questions about what options were available for my hair type, the goal I was trying to accomplish and she told me I could just walk in. But I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I arrived here at 10:15 a.m. doors are locked because no one is here. I contact the number. She says they open at ten. I explain no one is here. She asks me where I am as if she didnt provide the address yesterday. Mind you Im parked right out front. She says shes going to call the stylist and call me right back. I waited to write this review. Here I am 25 minutes later. I still have not received a call back AND no one has arrived. This is so unprofessional. Dont waste your time coming to this establishment. If this is how business is conducted I want no parts.*UPDATE: the owner contacts me via text and is dismissive of my concerns, very argumentative, and unprofessional. She only calls after she sends a text which is documentation of her unprofessional business handling practices. Shes unable to take accountability for the situation. This is an HONEST review. Do not be swindled by this establishment. Im assuming she blocked me so I made the post public for others to see with screenshots. Maybe if she hears about it through another source she will grow as a business. The state board was also not discussed to clarify this appointment I was unable to make. I initially wanted a trim while explain to her why and weighing my options I said we could potentially try a style due to the texture of my hair once I arrived. I asked if I should wash she said they could wash trim and style and to just come in as she quickly rushed me off the phone so we are very clear.

The location is very nice, accessible, has plenty of parking, and it is clean. The salon itself is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is very inviting. The owner is my hair stylist and I am never disappointed with my service.

I arrived on time to my appointment at Salon XO and learned that there were three people in front of me. Crystal had not yet arrived to work and one person had already been waiting 1 1/2 hours.I was not inclined to wait so I asked the stylist who was present what the process was for getting a refund of my $50 deposit that is required to schedule an appointment. Im told that there supposedly is a 30 minute grace period policy, however the policy that is provided when scheduling online does not mention any sort of grace period. Whats further baffling is that grace periods are for clients who are late to an appointment, not for the service provider.When Crystal arrives I request a refund and was told I wont be given one b/c of this grace period policy and that I could leave. I told her I was not made aware of any such policy when I booked but she made it clear she was not interested in having a professional conversation about the matter. In short her dismissiveness and unprofessionalism led to an unfortunate exchange between us. In the interest of your own physical and emotional well being, I highly advise against doing business at this salon.

My stylist, Ryan is AWESOME!!!. I never know what to do with my hair for real... but we finally found a style!!! I appreciate how patient she is with this stuff on my head and how gentle she is with it. Ryan is super talented!Now, the shop is nice, dont know the other stylist but they all seem good... nice shop, great location. If I had to give a negative is the music ... lawd, it could be turned down a bit... I walked out with a headache, feels like Im yelling when I talk to anyone... BUT, 4stars cause my stylist is great...

Terrible I was not happy with the service at all first of all I had micro links installed including the hair purchased from crystal .... which came up to a total of 900 and something dollars if she would of never gave me a discount it would of been $ 1000 which is ridiculous .... after I had the microlinks I made my appts and came like I was suppose to and then after that a month passed my hair was loose and when I was at the salon crystal asked me did I ever get my links tighten up I told her no she said ok next appt she will tighten them I said ok so I made my next appt and when I came still haven’t tighten them and then she kept saying it again next time I come she tighten them ... ok I made another appt she still haven’t tighten them she kept throwing it off and as a client I shouldn’t have to remind you when to tighten up my hair .... also the piece of track of the hair was sticking out and she styled my hair but never fixed it don’t understand how she missed that ... so I was able to get it fixed at my next hair appt when I said something about it and still my links were still not tighten up .... other than that she doesn’t not how to comb hair she is very rough like she is trying to pull your hair which is unacceptable, so I finally went to somebody else to get the links out because I refused to let her touch my hair again because she is rough and she never tighten up my links so that was money wasted. Also her coming to the shop late is ridiculous which I think is very unprofessional.... I will no longer return to this hair salon ever again I wish her nothing but the best and and I pray that she improves on being on time and knowing how to be gentle when taking care of somebody’s hair.

I made an appt over the phone with the owner Assists...Which I ask about the prices on hand.... To make sure we where on the same page... When I went to pay her... It was higher...I just paid and said thank you.. I also had to put an deposit of 30 dollars... For first time appt... Which I was fine with that...Because its a business...Which is deducted from your total at time of services. She was very long winded... In doing. my hair and the place wasnt crowed... I must say the hair salon is beautiful... She didnt seem to be to friendly... But I continue to stay after the long drive and the long wait... I show the owner Cyrstals the style and she got the cutting.. I have gotten the same service for years... Never a problem... I notice my head was a little sore but I figured it was just the tracks and was glued in tight in the top where she placed them... So almost 2 weeks I needed my hair washed still a little sore and itchy... I was going to return... Didnt get a good feeling... So I cancel... I went and had my hair wash and shampoo somewhere else... It was still tender and the shampoo person at another place said I had dry spots and bumps... I excused my self and call The owner Crystals... She didnt have any passion or concerns about my hair... And kept telling me how much... She is neglecting her clients in the shop while she is on the phone with me... I explain to her I never ever experienced any thing like this before... She was trying to put it on someone else how the tracks was taking out in the top of my hair... Not the case... As I said before... This is something I been doing for 20 + years... She kept trying to over talk me and telling me to listen to her... I stop and said to her about coming to her shop she said you just dont show up at her shop... I finally said if anything become of this with my hair she will be in court... And she said take her to court... Crystal sweetie.. You have a beautiful Salon... But one of the review said you need professional classes and you do.. I think you meant to do that from who you know... The only reason she got a 3 star is because I like my hair... The shop was beautiful...Bless you my Dear!

Service sucks!!!!!!! Shantell does a great job on hair...But owner is very unprofessional. I had a scheduled appointment came into the salon and my stylist wasnt there. No one called to tell me she had to reschedule and didnt seem to care that it was a big inconvenience to me no apology or anything. The owner was the only stylist in the salon that day and knew that she didnt have another stylist come in she even watched me sit and wait for atleast 15 minutes and didnt care to say anything she was to busy in a rush to leave and go out is all I heard her saying.I left a low rating on the salon a few months ago and the owner had the audacity to call my phone just now at 8 pm getting smart with me about why I left a low rating on her salon and how I need to listen to her talk basically call her self checking me. Instead of calling to gain clarity or resolve The problem she wants to argue. The fact that shes going around calling customers getting smart goes to show how unprofessional she is. Update she just called me a second time and I rejected her call this girl is trash and her nasty attitude over shadows her talent.
