I have been going to the range now for a little over two years. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable. The range itself is always clean and ready to go. The quality of guns and accessories they offer is as expected.The real bread and butter is the amount of classes/trainings the range offers. Between basic handgun training, carbine training and self defense training you will find a ton of value here.

Had to cancel a class. Wanted a refund. Was told by the manager we normally dont but since youre moving. We will. But only for store credit. I said no big deal. I drove over 60 miles to be told by Angel they wont do it now.This is poor business IMO.

Began and successfully completed CCW class today. I am a person for clear, precise instructions and it was delivered by the instructor Mr. Vinnie. Great responsibility comes with owning a handgun my family and friend cautioned me. Thank you Mr V for sharing a wealth of information, for your knowledge, expertise, and real situations. I found my purchases reasonable.

This is hands down the best gun store in STL!!! i went to this location yesterday seeking to find a good cheap but nice ar and i got all the help in the world from this guy jayson great guy and he was respectful and letting me hold every ar so i can get a feel of what i like and it most definitely worked im gonna for sure call this place home

A nice facility many guns to buy or rent new and used! Almost every accessory you might need! Solid 20$ all day rate for 1 person 5$ for each extra person! Also rent safety equipment! And have ammo!

Beyond satisfied with The Range. My fiancé and I have now purchased two firearms here and have taken two private lessons. All the staff that helped with purchasing the firearms were very knowledgeable, honest, and easy to talk to. We have had two private lessons with Dustin and every time I leave feeling more confident. I would recommend to any family and friend!

For example, a set of sights were over $20 more in store than online. No other business that I know does this type of pricing.Poor refund process with the online purchases. It took two months to get a refund check with me doing all the legwork to get the money back. I had called, emailed, and went into the store with no luck until two months later. Then I spent over 30 minutes waiting to have a check given to me for the refund. Again, no other business that I know of does this with refunds.Quality control is an major issue. For example, the store computer system still showed they had my pistol, when I had picked it up weeks ago. Also, when I went to pick up the two new magazines I had ordered, one of them was for a completely different gun and the associate did not catch it (paperwork did not match the product), yet he wanted me to sign for it. After some time he was able to locate the correct magazine. Thus, be very careful what you are signing for and ensure you are picking up exactly what is on the receipt.

This place will scam you!!! Hidden costs galore that no matter how you ask they fail to tell you about till register. Takes great advantage of new gun owners. If you want a gun with hidden fees, that doesnt work. Then they tell you they will fix it under warranty. Then say after 2 months its all taken care of come get it only to charge you a arm and a leg at the register. Go only if you want Dishonest customers service and hidden fees. And dont ask anybody to explain anything all you will get is a flippant non answer. TERRIBLE, SHOULD BE ASHAMED

My first visit Today walking into the store I was welcomed by the staff at the counter who were very helpful by directing me how to get started for using the range. We didn’t have to wait long around 6 minutes to use the range downstairs. The staff downstairs in the range are great, very informative and also quite funny! They got me and my friend set up in no time and ready to shoot.Pricing is very reasonable given the current situation!With a wide selection of handguns to choose from and the option to try a few out!The store itself is a great size with white seem to be everything you could want from a gun store.Would certainly recommend and I will be returning with a few friends for another day of sending some down range!

Was a pretty chill place. Range was the nicest Ive ever been to. Rental was cheap but their ammo is pretty expensive and required for the rentals.

This range is good for new shooter and people looking to do matches. They also have a ton of training courses. Getting my CCW at half price! This is also where you can find civil right advocate Kevin Dixie of No Other Choice training.

Wednesday is my day. Best knowledgeable associates and friendly. Definitely my go to for purchases or practice.

Staff was so great to work with. They had to get it correct for my out of state purchase. Went so smooth pick up later this week. Well worth the drive you can make a day of it.

Prices are what you have to deal with these days, but the staff, store, and facility are ran by professionals. Instructors pop in from time to time to correct shooter errors as expected but were very professional at giving advice and pointers. Definitely a better experience than Jay Henges where the range instructor will berate you and manhandle your firearms!

Great indoor range with a friendly staff and helpful staff. The store also has a huge selection of firearms and accessories for sale. Went on a slow Wednesday evening and had just about the whole range to ourselves. The ONLY downside is the price of ammo for their rental guns. They dont allow using your own ammo in their guns and of course they over charge you for their stuff (gotta make a profit right?) All in all, I will continue to come here. Had a great time.

Helpful people and good place!

I thought I liked this place, seems to have a decent range, stock and staff. The Problem; didnt let me know a $50 FFL fee PER ITEM. Thats like NY or CA prices.. if you didnt know its missouri, standard is $27. I paid the first one and unfortunately have to pay the second since my item is already there. Maybe make that an accessible fact for future gun buyers. Rediculous.. or you can pay the normal amount if you pay 250 for the membership per year. Yeah, no thanks Ill find a different vendor. You get 2 stars because the staff is other battles that know what they are talking about.

I can summarize my experiences with The Range St. Louis West in a word: EXCELLENT. Their training courses are detailed, practical, and helpful. They always carry the best products in stock and their customer service is great. I look forward to coming back again and again.

I have to say that there couldnt be a better gun store in all of Missouri. The staff here at The Range were very accommodating and very professional. Their gun selection was very nice with a wide range of options. Even when it seemed like due to covid most gun stores in the local area had a short supply of guns and ammo, this place seemed well stocked. I will continue to give my buisness to the range. Been here several times and it has always been outstanding. While waiting for a bay to open I started up small talk with an employee at the sales counter. I was not buying a firearm but he was friendly and engaged me in general conversation. It has the best indoor range in STL by far. Prices are affordable. Staff is very friendly and they made my son 16th birthday by going above and beyond!!! Thank you!!!!!! I cant recommend this place enough. It is the first place I have thought about being a member to. (Maybe when ammo prices/availability improve and I can shoot more) I will do it.

Ive shot here before with a couple people and things have always been good. Called and got things set up for a group of 10. They were very nice and great to work with, made sure we got taken care of. We had a wonderful time. 10/10 will be back.

This place is top-notch. Clean friendly environment. Very friendly professional staff, Phil the manager is very approachable. If you DONT like dark musty gun shops with the Grumpy Old Man Behind the Counter then this is the shop you need to go to. Family friendly, great place for female and first-time shooters with lots of training and safety class opportunities. This place blows me away with their communication, Logistics, and professionalism. The staff went out of their way to get me the rifle I wanted which wasnt an easy task. And to top it all off, you have the owner John whos committed, involved and is there on site to help you with anything you need, and still has time to shake youre hand and thank you for your business. Classy, they keep me coming back. Thank you for setting the example! As always happy with my experience and purchase.

Ive been here before several years ago and everyone seemed really friendly...until today. I called to see what their inventory is like (because most places are low on guns and ammo) and the lady that answered said well..uh..we have guns in the most sarcastic tone of voice. Oh, you have guns do you? Talked to me like I was 5 years old. So I elaborated on the two specific guns I was looking for and she got on her radio and the guy real loud said ha, good luck!The place is packed all of the time, so I guess theyre doing fine and dont care about having normal customer service. They lost my business for sure. Gonna look at some other places that dont talk to customers like theyre idiots.

It was my first time going there and people are wonderful and extremely friendly. Will be going there again and again. Most likely will become a member.

I’m torn honestly, the prices aren’t terrible and the store is nice. I was greeted by a very nice gentlemen at the desk upstairs which I thought was promising until I got downstairs and was talked to like a child and given ugly looks from 3/4 staff members. 2 of them being armed it’s almost as if they think they can treat you however they want but they forget about this here review option ... take your chance I guess, people have bad days. I personally won’t be back

They claim you can shoot all day for $20. I was there for only a hour they come and told me I had to leave. That there was a line of people. It’s not my problem that there is a line of people. I paid my money I want my full time. I will not be returning. They also told a member that they had to leave after a hour. If you advertise $20 for all day then let the people shoot for as long as they want.

Always a pleasure. Well educated staff, friendly, and professional. Not to mention the range is extremely well ran and safe. Also, they treat LEO, first responders, veterans with much respect. Only gripe, their prices are on the high end. This is expected due to the location.

The Range and staff are AMAZING!!! I have been coming for a couple of years and a member the past year. They are truly interested in helping people. They are NOT about the sale, but about helping people learn and get what they need. I highly recommend them!

I went in looking for ammo for acouple hunts I have this spring. They have plenty on display but refuse to sell it unless you buy a gun. What really irritated me was they didn’t even have any rifles for sale chambered in what I was looking for. I would rather do business with stores around here that will sell ammo, instead of putting it on the shelf and hoard it.

This is THE PREMIER shooting range in St Louis, no caveats, its simply the best.Friendly, knowledgeable people and a great place to hang out. The nicest retail look Ive seen at any facility. Definitely the place to go for first timers, as its definitely not what most would think of relative to gun range.The Andy Warhol gun art prints, lounge area and free coffee bar are great touches that add to its pleasant and warm feel.The ranges are well-lit and have outstanding air circulation, something that is oftentimes overlooked but extremely important the more you shoot. Three bays with 25 yards of distance, one with a target device that lets you enter the exact range distance desired.

Great training and courses available here. The staff is top notch, experienced, knowledgeable while facilitating you to have a fun time. I had a great experience, will be back for more!

Prices might be a bit high, but thats simply the nature of the beast when it comes to brick and mortar shops like this. Extremely let down and disappointed. I had full intentions on becoming a member, now I wish I hadnt patronized them at all. Its very unfortunate how one extremely bad experience can negate many great experiences, but such is the case. Sam with the pink hair is the rudest most disrespectful person there and why they made her a manager is mystifying.I will not return to the range.

Ive been a member here for a few months now. The staff is always helpful and very knowledgeable. The range facilities are state of the art. Ive had quite a lot of work done by their armorers and they always do a top notch job. It seems that they are always working to make the customer experience better. In short, I highly recommend getting a membership here if you live in the area and if not, this is still the place you want to come to shoot!

Ive gone shooting in at least five ranges and this is by far the best one. Theres a beautiful lounge area on the main level along with a spacious retail area. Beware, when you go downstairs to the shooting lanes, its chilly however the ventilation is especially good. A lot of thought went it to operations including the grates you stand on to catch the spent shells, and hands-free powered washing stations conveniently located before you go back upstairs.

One of the best ranges I have ever been too. Clean, modern and friendly, the staff is extremely knowledgeable, the air filtration system is state of the art. and the cost is amazing, i walked in expecting to spend around $40.. spent half of that. there is a lot of incentive to join as a member and for good reason. I will be becoming a regular.

This is a great place to go. The staff here without a doubt has the best customer service. I bought an item and was told it was in by staff. I went to use the item and it was not- I’m assuming were it should have been.....however, the persistence of the gentleman helping me was something special, I mean he called other workers on the phone, and searched high and low, until he came up with it! I could not have been more pleased.

As other people mention as well... they are a tad bit pricey at $20... but its not by the hour, you can shoot for all day. Plus its only $5 per person to add on to a lane, so if youre planning on shooting for a few hours it is not that bad of a deal at all. The facility is second to none compared to any other indoor ranges in the area. If youre looking for an indoor range in the St Louis County area this is than this is the one to go to, much better than On Target. Took off one star because they are a little pricey and strict about ammo (but I can live with that). I definitely would not recommend buying a gun here, their prices are pretty inflated as most gun ranges are. I would recommend shooting here but if you want to purchase a firearm go support one of the other local gun shops (Docs or Kevins Guns) in the area and save a couple hundred bucks!!

The place is almost perfect. Almost.First the good: The selection and shop is incredible. Lots of great firearms and a super friendly staff. Pricing is not incredibly cheap, but more fair than other shops Ive visited. The range is top notch. Lots of bays to shoot in, and very high end. This unfortunately leads me to...The Bad: Range membership price. Its too confusing in my opinion and much more expensive than a competitor. $250 for an annual individual range membership. That doesnt sound bad if that were the total, however you still have to pay $5 per visit for a lane and pay for targets! WHY?! A membership should be all inclusive...maybe charge for targets at the most. Quick math for my scenario, if I go twice per month and buy 2 targets each time Im looking at roughly: $250 (annual single member) + 24 lane fees at $5 + 48 targets at roughly $1 per target = $418 actual cost for the year. I know some guys would go much more than that.A competitor I frequent offers the same membership price but you do not have to pay $5 per visit for the lane and it includes 2 targets.Fix the pricing guys then Ill give you 5 stars.

Its one thing to be busy is a whole other thing to have 8 staff members look right at you walk past and not even acknowledge your existence. Wont be going back.

My son Alex and I love both the store and range. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and wish we had more time to spend on the range. They won’t be the cheapest place however have found very few places (including stores I visit when traveling for work all over the country) that will have staff with as much product knowledge or passion for our God given right as these guys do. Yesterday was there asking about set up options for a tactical flashlight and laser. A couple of the guys provided several options and one of them (Ron I think) spent an hour helping with setup and then attached everything. Can’t beat the service and selection.

John ( who I believe is the owner) hes super helpful, knowledgeable, caring and honestly I feel I can say the same for the rest of the staff at The Range. Bought my first gun here in December. Never owned a gun before. You would think they would help you to understand stand how to use it, clean etc. also make sure you sign up for a class or at least tell you about the classes.. Nope. Only concerned about the sale$$$$$$$. And supposedly it was a cop that sold me the gun. Wow, just wow. I’m not even sure if it’s properly registered. And ladies beware, if the salesman tells you that’s the gun my wife has, I bet he’s lying.

Recently got a membership here and the perks with that are great and help to reduce costs as well.My favorite part of this place is definitely the staff. They are kind and knowledgeable and won’t roll their eyes if you ask a dumb question. I loved the class I did with Dustin Pluth he was really fantastic to work with.

Love this range! My dad, brother and I went here for the first time tonight to have some family shooting time. Weve been to a handful of ranges in the area and theyre all okay but The Range is fantastic. Its clean, modern, and well laid out. The ranges are very nice with an electronic target placement and grates under standing room to collect your brass without you tripping and stepping on it. The facility is great, but honestly where they really stand out are their employees. They are knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and informative people without a doubt. Phil in particular was super helpful in pointing out things I may like to help further my training. If youre looking for a range in town because youre a seasoned pro or just want to look at a new hobby theyve got you covered! I cant wait to go back to The Range STL!

This is a state of the art facility! Great selection of products and firearms in the retail store and excellent bays in the range. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable! Dustin sets challenging and fun stages during their monthly match. They pay a decent price (more than Cabelas) for used guns.Highly recommend visiting The Ranger!!

Great staff, all friendly as can be. Knowledgeable as well, if I ask someone a question they dont know they are honest and go ask someone that does. Ranges are nice to shoot in top of the line. You have a problem or anything with your firearm talk to them they will figure out the perfect situation even while inside the range.

Finally got around to visiting and trying out the facility. I was impressed. The folks I talked with were engaging, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. (As opposed to a few places that are indifferent and talk down to you if you are not up to their speed on the subject.) Large assortment of products (for sale and rent), modern range fixtures, and appropriate level of staff for early afternoon.

Took my sister and soon-to-be brother in law as their bachelor and bachelorette party. (We did some other fun things in addition to this.) The staff were very helpful and ensured we were well taken care of. Yes, this place definitely takes care of military families. Whoop whoop! Regardless, everyone was very helpful and we had a blast!

Went with my daughter who is 10 and she had a great time. Employees are knowledgeable and very helpful. Had my 30-30 get jammed and the Smith on duty helped me out, this was not a field strip jam btw...prices were reasonable and I thought that the facility was top notch, best I have been to.

This is the best range in Saint Louis. For an indoor range the prices cannot be beat. Everyone here is courteous and polite. They love the Second Amendment and its clear their goal is to be the best ambassador they can be. Kudos, will be back when my budget allows.

Good gun range, bad service at gun counter. I waited for 20 minutes waiting to buy a gun and not a single person came up to me. A salesman walked right by me, not a single glance. Some other guy walks up to the counter and the salesman starts chatting about suppressors and AR-15s. I left after that because apparently they dont want my business.

Tonight was my first time here and the place is amazing! The staff are friendly, helpful, and absolute experts in their field. Their pro shop has an invredible selection of quality parts and accessories and the shooting range is top tier. Theyve earned a lifelong customer.

Its a good indoor (25yd max) range, the workers are pretty cool (just dont act like an idiot), and its clean. However, its sooo damn expensive. They gouge customers on prices on literally everything. $50 on an FFL transfer? Seriously?! If you pay $300/year then its only $25... still expensive. Plus, even when you do buy a membership, you still have to pay each time you shoot! Unless you pay $500+/year, then its free...Then again, they are just capitalizing on the west county area; they know people have extra money. I wont be renewing my membership and I will be going outdoors, and/or joining a gun club and pay much less, further yard ranges, and not be ripped off. I want to feel like I belong to a club with other like-minded gun owners who help each other; I just feel like a number and a $$$ sign here.For casual shooters (1-5 times per year) its perfectly fine - you might learn a thing or 2, but for those regulars its way too expensive IN MY OPINION. With a little research and some phone calls, you can find better options. The pricing is obviously subjective, and it is purely MY opinion. Overall, or to the casual shooter, It IS a pretty decent indoor range.

Nice place brought my fiance to shoot for first time. Rented a couple different guns to shoot. Good variety of hand guns to rent or buy. I wanted to shoot a shotgun also but they dont have them, just handguns and rifles.

Ive been to this range a number of times in the past 6 months. Always had an excellent experience. The shooting range itself is very clean, well ventilated and in complete working order. They should include one simple target backdrop as part of the cost of lane rental, but unfortunately they dont (extra $1-2). On occasion Ive been a bit nervous with what was obviously inexperience with some of the other customers in adjacent shooting lanes, but that can happen anywhere and means you have to keep an eye on them for the safety of all. The retail space is spacious and has plenty of items to add to your shooting wish list. The staff always seems very cordial.

I enjoyed myself. I did the girls just wanna have guns night and it was a blast. The instructors were all amazing. Very friendly and helpful. I didnt feel pressured or rush to do it correctly. I highly recommend you go ladies.

My first time here I had a bad experience. I contacted the management and they made it right. Phil didnt excellent job making 8 hours not seem so long and boring for the concealed carry class. Their prices are in line with most other shops Ive visited in town. They have a very friendly staff.

A little about me, I am an NRA certified instructor, Range Safety Officer, coach for a rifle team and a personal firearms instructor teaching home defense. I teach with a safety first concept and enjoy my lead habit. I stopped in to check out the place. Here is what I saw and my opinions about the place.The selection of apparel is good, the selection of firearms isnt bad, prices seemed a little high to me but they are inline with other large stores paying for the storefront. They didnt have what I was looking for that day but I continued to looked around. I wanted to see the range without shooting and was denied, I offered to sign the waiver still a no. I was a bit surprised by that, most ranges want you to see and talk about them. The location is nice with parking and then I walked by the gun smith area, to clean your firearm $35?!? A function check /safety inspection for $25, with a test fire that bumps the price to $35, really??? The places I like to frequent will not only do this for no cost, but they are showing you how to maintain your own firearm at the same time, not drop it off you can get it next week. I read through the prices for the services and was rather surprised by the costs that other ranges offer for free. Most ranges dont want an incident on their range and offer free safety checks, and are rather happy that you asked them to check. I am likely to stop back in to look for practical tactical gear to wear when they have a clearance sale. I wish them well in their business venture, I will not be a frequent customer there.

Took my Beretta 96A1s to the range to get my John Wick on got to stay on point......love this range

1. Too expensive. I was there an hour or so, and I paid over $23.2. No chairs or any seats to use. I brought my rifle, and I shot standing up, or squatting down.3. The bench was so narrow that I couldnt use any rifle rests with ease.I dont think the range is for rifles.Never again.
