Great staff . Homeless dude in the parking lot will follow you and employees into the stock room so look out. Other than that theyve got a good selection of affordable used gear and a nice percussion section along with all the new stuff. For specific items you can order online .

I really enjoy Guitar Center. Its a great variety of inventory. It is a large place. The sound room is where I can try out a guitar or two before making my final selection. Its a fun place to meet fellow musicians too.
Maybe due to THE COVE they dont have more instruments in store, but they offer lessons. Variety and staff kept me from giving them 5 stars. Instore equipment offers a beginner an in-person feel for what instruments theyd might take up.
First time in today, just to get my daughters guitar tuned, the gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and friendly, he recommended some things that need to be done, so will definitely be back in soon
Sunday evening, an hour before they close I go into the Bakersfield location to purchase some new tuning keys for my Les Paul studio guitar because one of mine were broke. The staff was very helpful and they had exactly what I needed. Great shopping experience even though I didnt get to play any of their drums. Because Im a drummer just fixing my guitar. Lol
Today we went to buy dj lights and some wire that I didn’t know to connect my Bluetooth speakers. Denny helped us in an amazing way. He was so good and helpful than any other person I guess in the guitar center. I recommend all to visit there and if you need any help take help from Denny. He is the best !!!!!
If you need strings, picks, straps, typical musical gear, they likely have it. Their in store selection isnt what it used to be, not a large selection of guitars, basses and amps (compared to a few years ago), and its hit and miss with employee product knowledge. I wish they carried more diy parts, such as machine heads, bridges, maintenance kits and the like.

The salesperson was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to double check that they had what we were looking for before we made the drive to their store. Upon arrival they were even better than over the phone. Very pleased with this store! We will continue to be a customer! Highly recommend!

They try. For whatever reason the inventory is pitifully low and communication between employees on what product is on the floor is laughable. Ive never had a problem with any of the employees. Each of them individually are friendly and knowledgeable about services and product. The problem comes from higher up, I believe. The shift workers seem to want to help but the resources are limited and so chaotic. We had a guitar serviced and was charged an Express fee despite the face the technician was on vacation and didnt even start on it for days. A few weeks later we went in for an amp. The poor guy trying to help clearly was embarassed by the fact half of what was on display they didnt have parts for or was out of stock and would have to be ordered. Being as Bakersfield has limited music stores one would think upper management would keep up inventory and offer lower management and shift employees more support. Theyd have higher sales. At least from my family and families like mine who are pressed for time and just want to buy from brick and mortar and not be directed to the website. I could have done that from home.Kudos to the poor guys trying their best with what they have.

Dishonest and ignorant staffLess than 2 weeks ago, I bought an electric guitar for $650. TWO DAYS after my purchase, I went to return it knowing there is a 45 day return policy expecting my money back. However, that wasn’t the case. Never was I told there’s a 15% deduction from my purchase if I wanted to return it. I didn’t even play the guitar within the time I had it. As soon as I let the manager know I was going to buy a guitar, he completely forgot that I was a customer, and didn’t go over the return policy guidelines. With that money I could’ve bundled an amp, and an electric online.
Had a great experience. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and made sure to answer all our questions. We had a man named Power help us, he was very friendly and even laughed at my sons bad jokes.

Got a great deal from Richard the manager and Power the sales associate new his stuff.Their COVID rules were a little much... had to wait outside for 20 minutes on one of the hottest days of summer. And some associate I wasnt even working kept bugging me about my mask placement. I told him I did not care. He said it didnt matter what I thought. He almost blew a $3700.00 deal

This store has the worst customer service of any music store I have ever experienced. The employees sit around playing music or play on their phones, and do not wish to help you. Just yesterday one of them even had the nerve to ask me what I needed before I could even walk in the store. He did not even allow me to look around and shop as he wanted to close the store early. I am definitely done shopping here.

I really used to love Guitar Center, Ive bought plenty of gear from them. However, my son just bought a $1000 guitar 2 weeks ago from them, he bought an additional $190 warranty and was told anything and everything was covered and just bring it in. Today he had a strap button problem, nothing huge. The guy at the door wouldnt let us in, told us to call the insurance, they didnt have a tech to look at it and didnt know when, if ever, they would. He completely blew us off and come to find out that warranty didnt cover everything the salesmen said when we contacted the insurance. More than that Guitar Center is supposed to have a 30 day return policy, I guess thats a lie too.Not gonna lie Im disappointed, these guys are going broke but still wont change their customer service. Long time customer just lost GC.

Impatient, disinterested, prejudice staff, little respect to customers. Im a regular and I am constantly spoken to with attitude, if its busy they tell me to come back a different day in a very disrespectful tone and demeanor. The website clearly states the policies, however those policies are pick and choose for the employees. Its unfortunate that the preferable music stores are closed.
Staff was very helpful in informing me of sales and promotions. They helped me (a beginner) pick out a guitar and amplifier that was in my price range and I am very happy with the products. Their insurance is crazy good, too. Full replacement due to basically any kind of damage even if its your fault.
They have great equipment, but horrible customer service. Seems like they hate their job and are forced to help you. I was looking for help and the associates were sitting around playing guitars, after 10 min one of the managers calls an associate over. As I was asking questions the associate kept rolling his eyes but once he seen I had a guitar center credit card and the guitar I was interested in he changed his attitude real quick. Needless to say I walked out and bought my guitar with the local competitor, also cut my guitar center credit card. This is my 3 bad experience in this location and my last.

I loved this place. Its amazing....let me tell you why. It was my birthday when I went there to get my birthday gift. When we were finished picking out what we needed.....a lady came up to us who worked there and asked if we found everything we needed....we politly responded with yes thank you. The cashier was nice....he was very cheerful and respectful. Hopefully one day I get to come here again.
Very nice place! Very informative on instruments and equipment. Really anything you need music wise. They even have lessons you can take or a spot to try out an instrument before purchasing.

I went here as I had signed up for a free guitar class, however, even after waiting for approximately 30 minutes, the instructor never showed up nor answered their phone when one of the people who worked there called. He had me and another gentleman that had also showed up for the class to leave our names and numbers for the instructor to call us back. As of today, almost a week later, I still have not heard back from anyone.The store does look well stocked with many different instruments.

I changed my rating to 5 stars and am rewriting my review. In my first review I stated a concern about this store not being fully staffed on a busy Saturday, but I was well treated by an employee named Buddy. Well, it turns out Buddy is the manager. After I placed a special order for a guitar, there was a mix up and my order was canceled in the system. I spoke with Buddy again and he worked hard to make everything right. I also went back to the store after the initial visit and the store was fully staffed, and everyone were kind and friendly. I highly recommend Guitar Center for all your music needs. 👍👍

Ive been shopping here since the 80s when it started out in Hollywood. As far as Im concerned it is the best music store that anybody can go to the service paragon of experience and they have everything you need unlike stores like front porch music in Bakersfield where nothing but potheads try to work you and have no social skills whatsoever my opinion to further skills is Guitar Center Point Blank.

Very quick to take your money on purchasing of items but and I mean a big butt your employees are having too much fun playing guitars or with their friends on the guitars need to concentrate on the customer you never know who comes to the door Im the lead singer for the two tone Rangers I came in to buy a guitar but we had to chase a guy down take one down thats not very good for your business line and when you have Headliners coming in incognito to possibly purchase one of your high-end guitars and theyre in the acoustic room playing or guitars I probably will not do business with you no more in Bakersfield California I had to go over the front porch music to buy the guitar that I was interested in buying the price was the same but their willingness to take care of their customers is a 10 out of 10 I only give you one star if theres anything left I would even give you that as they say in Japan sayonara round eye
Had a great experience. Did NOT get bombarded with questions or pushed to make a decision. When we were just about ready we were approached by the sales rep Joey, who made a recommendation for an amp that was $20 more expensive but actually does work better for what we wanted. Even got a discount on the guitar since it was the last one and had been in the guitar wall for quite some time.

I am but a small fish in this sea of local talent....I enjoy the access to top rated gear and the great advice from local pro players.
So sad that so many of their guitars were dented or scratched!!! Their pricing is alright, but not considering that most of their new guitars are already scratched and scuffed. They did build studio rooms during the holidays that are finally open for getting lessons though, so I might be teaching piano from there one or two days out of the week.

Great guitar selection but the workers seem selective with who they want to help and also not very positive in giving compliments, if I was working there I would go up to the worst muscician and still be like you got a good sound some kind of positive reinforcement they come off like know it alls and that they are better than you at music instead of being humble and curious.

All of the workers were really nice and polite except for this one guy he had long hair and was white and was giving me attitude it started when i walked in to get a guitar i was jus playing it to see which one i was going to buy and at first he jus walks in and assumes im practicing in there when i wasnt so i jus ignored it but he comes in again saying if i dont stop playing the guitar he is going to kick me out so at the end i didnt even want to buy the guitar please fire this person he did this to me and some other guy!!!!!!!!
Worst experience in customer service. Went online to Guitar Centers website to purchase Used Sabian 14 in. Hi-hats Cymbal Set for my 9 year old son. Found a perfect set labeled Excellent. Placed the order on and 3 days later got a notification from Raymond Mercado, Lead Operations that items had been sold (see photo). I replied to his email to noting my disappointment, and requested a coupon code for the inconvenience. I never received a response. I called the store directly and was told Even if it says excellent condition that means nothing. This set was sold 30 minutes after you placed your order and there wasnt anyone here to grab them. You can call back in 15 minutes and they can help you order comparable item. I said the only cymbals available were in good condition and I paid the extra money for the original set because they were in excellent condition. DEAD silence. I have worked in retail and have to say this is TERRIBLE customer service. My son expected this set on Christmas Day, and I was offered nothing for the mix up. I will be writing corporate since Raymond Mercado could care less that I they mixed up my order.
