Much more than I expected. Large selection of books and magazines even some comic books and sheet music. This is the kind of place that is becoming very rare, a treasure chest of unique items. I will come every time I am in the area, and I feel very lucky to have visited such a nostalgic place.
This place is been there since 1964. Sam and delcie opened it when they came here in 1964 and Sam had retired from the Army. Sam is long gone since 1982, but delcie kept the store open until about 3 years ago. Its run by a family friend who is trying to keep the memory of the shop alive. They carry used books, knick knacks, some antique stuff, China cabinets and more. If you get a chance go by and enjoy a little bit of Bakersfield nostalgia. The little shop needs a lot of work but its getting there. Go inside and say hello to Chris, if you mention my name, Debbie you get a 20% discount. Sam and delcie were my my parents who ran the shop. When they first open the shop there were other shops on the street of Edison Highway and people would flock from one shop to the next until they hit them all. It was great fun back in the day. Delcie its now fighting Alzheimers, but in her more Lucid moments she talks about the shop and all of her friends she has there. Come by say hi and have a great day
