This guy is awesome. He put together a bass guitar for me from scratch, because I didnt feel professional enough to put all the different pieces together correctly. He made some suggestions to better find the sound I was looking for (capacitors, pots, etc.), and it turned into a more beautiful instrument than I was expecting. He has been doing this for many years, and it shows.

Pete added a middle pickup to my guitar to cover up damage I did to the finish. He routed the pickup area, installed the pickup and wired it using a 5 way switch to work with existing EMG and Sustainiac pickups. Very clean routing, straight and centered... looks like it came from the factory with middle pickup installed! Price was more than reasonable. He turned my screw up into a awesome modification to the guitar. Highly recommended!

Had Pete re-fret my original 65 Jazzmaster with stainless steel jumbo frets. The re-fret job was perfect and the guitar has been amazing. Afterwards I brought my 65 jag over to him for the same work and again the guitar came back in excellent condition (would say even better than the jazz). Super happy with Petes work and will continue to bring guitars to him without worry.

Pete is a master guitar tech. I have known him since 2015 or so and he worked on a few of my guitars. His stainless steel refret jobs are immaculate, he did several SS refrets for me, not a single issue, amazing craftsmanship imho.His regular setups, including Floyd Rose trems, are great and reasonably priced. He will also typically check the string height at the nut and file it to perfection.He is also quite skillful with wiring and pickup installs, including Fishman Fluence pickups, which he installed quite a few for me with various wiring configurations. Hes an awfully nice guy to boot. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Hands down the best fret work I’ve ever had done! And this on guitars that have been on a pleck machine. You simply will not find better! Pete Skermetta is a great guy. Down to earth, genuine customer service! I can’t recommend him enough!!

I had Peter fix a screwup I did on installation of a vibrato bridge. The result was super accurate, and stable as a rock. Highly recommended.
